The Escapades of Letter D is a story about Alphabet D finding out a secret about his toys and also teaches how everyone can play together.Free activity sheets and other downloadable resources available at www.rituvaish.com/archive-alphabet-escapades-letter-d.Send your artwork to rituvaish@gmail.com.TranscriptIt was night-time and all the alphabets had finished playing and together they put away all the toys: the duck, deer, dinosaur, doll, etc. They never left theirtoys scattered. They always placed them back neatly in the drawers or in the toy basket. After putting away the toys, they quickly washed up, had their delicious dinner, and went to their room. Soon they were busy reading and in no time, they were fast asleep. One day, after all the other alphabets had gone to sleep Alphabet d decided to return to the playroom to play some more.He quietly got out of the bed, tiptoed out of the bedroom, and walked towards the playroom. As he approached the playroom, he heard some noises. He stopped and wondered what those noises were.D was very inquisitive and instead of rushing into the playroom, he decided to peep through the window to find out what was happening“Oh My God! What are all the toys doing outside their baskets and drawers?” he wondered. He carefully looked and realized that all the toys were playing around in the room. Or were they getting ready for something?Alphabet D wanted to join them but thought that might scare the toys. So, he decided to just watch them through the window. He had never seen anything like this before.Alphabet D saw the doll dressed up in her shimmering shining dress.“Is there going to a party?” Alphabet D wondered. In the other corner Alphabet D's favourite deer was draping itself in a golden skin. The very next moment, the toy tub caught Alphabet D's attention. He saw the duck fluttering its wings to dry itself and quacking; quack -quack -quack-quackOnce she was done drying, she waddled towards the middle of the room. The doll was ready by now. And so was the deer. They both walked elegantly towards the middle of the room. All the others also assembled in the middle for what looked like a dance party.Suddenly, Alphabet D heard the beating of the drum. It was the dog. He appeared playing a beat on the drum. And everybody started rejoicing and dancing. The doves came in and started circling right above all the others, fluttering their wings to the beat.Indeed, it was a dance partyAll you little children listening out there, I am sure you all love parties, especially birthday parties. So, what's your favourite part of any birthday party? Is it the fun-filled games, or the delicious food, or the scrumptious cake, or the refreshing drinks, or the rhythmic dancing? Or is it everything put together.Well, even the toys in our story were having a great time in the party. So, till now in the story, Alphabet D, instead of sleeping, wants to play more and goes to the playroom, only to realize that all the toys were having a party. As the toys were dancing, the dinosaur came with refreshing drinks and served them to all the animals. But then the mean red coloured dragon, who always troubled the other toys, appeared from behind the cupboard. All the animals started running here and there as they were scared of the dragon. He was a big bully and scared all the toys by his loud shrieks and by blowing fire. The toys shouted together, “Someone please help us!” and were running helter-skelter.Hearing the commotion, the lion who was relaxing in the den rushed out.One look at the dragon and the lion understood the problem that it was the dragon scaring all the other toys.He roared, "You red dragon, that is no way to spoil the party. Instead why don't you join them and have fun too!”“But no one ever invites me to the party,” said one very angry dragon. The doll gathering courage said, “Dragon dear, you are most welcome to join our party, but please don't scare us.”The dragon for the first time felt bad and apologized. All the toys accepted his apologies and soon he too was enjoying the party.I love to sing,You love to sing,We love to sing together!I love to dance,You love to dance,We love to dance together!Alphabet D was glad to see the toys having a good time. He had a smile on his face, but by now his eyes were heavy and he slowly trudged back to his room and went to sleep.Hello Children! I am alphabet D. Welcome to Episode 4 of Season 7. S7E4 went out live at 19h00 on 25 Jan 2024 on Rebel Rock Radio. Amazing to think that the first month of 2024 is done, where does the time go? https://blog.priceplow.com/podcast/bruce-kneller-nootropic-104 Five years in the making, it's the return of Bruce Kneller to the PricePlow Podcast! We last saw him in in 2018 in Episode #009 where he dosed us with his new Bruce-class nootropic. Well, he's finally back with a real update, and with some good news – the nootropic should be ready at some point in 2024. There are still a few things getting worked out, including the regulatory aspect, but it's about “90% finished” and close enough for beta testing to begin! So during this episode, Mike and Ben try the full dose, and get to hear the backstory, science, and legal side from Bruce. They offer their “reviews” after having now taken it twice. We also then get into some other stuff, discussing “other ingredients that begin with a ‘D'”, and why this stuff can't (or likely won't) be made in America. Show Summary: Welcome to episode 100 of The STEM Space! In celebration, Natasha and Claire rant about one of their favorite topics: why does science education always ignore aerodynamic drag? In this episode, Natasha shares a simple science inquiry lab on exploring whether all objects fall at the same rate, the results from her students, and then how they applied an understanding of gravity and drag to an engineering design challenge.Links from the Show: Related The STEM Space Podcast Episodes 93. Spend less time explaining and more time doing. Scribe generates an interactive screenshot and text description for each step. Easily share with colleagues and students. Featured Content (8:38) When It Comes to Picking Edtech, Are Schools Listening to Teachers? (EdSurge) When your school or district decides to invest in and make a new edtech product available, the goal is to transform student learning and add value to their experiences in the classroom. But where in the process do you fit in? If you're a teacher what, if any, is your role? And how much say do you—or should you—have in edtech decisions? In a survey released earlier this year, the edtech company Clever found that 85 percent of administrators say teachers are involved in choosing tools. When the company asked teachers, more than 60 percent said they were hardly ever—or never—involved in those choices. So which is it? Do You Have a Seat at the Table Is there enough teacher voice in the edtech selection process? NO. Why? Well first, teachers aren't the people in a position to spend district resources and sign contracts with vendors. At a fundamental level, this puts distance between the companies and the teachers. #2...when it comes to purchasing #edtech focus is usually on the tech and not the education. So your tech personnel is usually more involved because the tech needs to work before it can be used to teach. Striking a Balance So how do we find that balance? A major obstacle is that teachers, and I've been guilty of this, don't always see the big picture and have that birds-eye view. Think data security, FERPA, & COPPA. Schools and districts can easily involve teachers by running pilot programs before widespread adoption and implementation. Let some teachers kick the tires with their students and get feedback. This makes perfect sense because at a basic level people want to be heard and valued and if technology is just being mandated then, teachers don't feel heard or valued. Speaking of mandates...that's not always the best idea. Making everyone use one specific tool isn't always what's good for everyone. Choice and options are powerful. Who Gets a Say? Typically it's people out of the classroom who have the most say. Sometimes that's completely valid. There are plenty of organizations, certifications, and degrees that can give a person the knowledge to make those decisions and have a lot of pull in the conversations. But if a person is all books smart and not street smart - and by street smart I mean 5 or more years of classroom experience - then their opinion and POV don't hold as much water - in my opinion. Technology can make a teacher's life easier but it will never replace us and there is no magic pill that will solve all edtech issues. So beware of those that sell this brand of #edtech snake oil. Feeling Left Behind Another key challenge is that schools and districts often make purchases meant to support all teachers, even though the needs of teachers vary widely by subject matter and grade level. Hello Phys. Ed. Teachers! Can you think of another subject area that benefits less from edtech in your district? It might even be true that there is more technology available to assist a PE teacher than in any other subject area. Could you imagine a Peloton lab in your middle or hs where students could differentiate their fitness based on their individual health goals and needs? We have the ability easily collect health and fitness data but when was the last time the phys ed dept was involved in the edtech decision process? We're leaving some teachers behind. Collaboration From the Start How do we get collaboration from the start? Well if you're in a small school setting then it's really easy to get everyone's opinion. But what if you're in a district with 12 schools, 1500 teachers, and over 10,000 students? Or a district that's larger than that? Teacher buy-in has to come from the ground up. Every content area needs to have a voice and advocate for its needs. School and district officials need to work with classroom teachers and talk honestly about their edtech needs. We have committees for just about everything so if there isn't one, there should be an # edtech-related committee in each school that has a seat at the table and is valued in the edtech selection process. What is the edtech selection process like for you? What role do you get to play in the process where you are? Sad (Arabic: ص, Ṣād; "The Letter Sad") is the 38th chapter of the Qur'an with 88 verses and 1 sajdah ۩ (38:24). Sad (ص) is the name of the eighteenth letter in the Arabic alphabet According to the traditional Islamic narrative, Saad was sent to Muhammad by Allah while he was coping with rejection from his tribe, the Quraysh. It recounts stories of previous prophets, describes the splendors of heaven, and warns of the monstrosities of hell. Regarding the timing and contextual background of the believed revelation (asbāb al-nuzūl), it is an earlier "Meccan surah", which means it is believed to have been revealed in Mecca, rather than later in Medina. The sura dates to the 2nd Meccan Period, meaning it was revealed only five or six years into the development of Islam. Summary 1-11 comments made by nonbelievers 8 the nonbelievers do not try to understand warnings: they blatantly “doubt” (Q38:8) 12-64 Transition to the Day of Judgment and hell 17 Patience 17-26 Story of David and the Two Litigants 30-40: Story of Solomon 55-64: The Day of Judgment Other Biblical characters This Sura also references Noah, Job, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Ishmael, and Elijah. Of these only the story of Job is elaborated on, providing a third major example of overcoming “adversity” (Q 38:44) to become a noteworthy messenger of the past 63 Day of Reckoning 66-88 The holiness and validity of the Qur'an 71-85: Story of Iblis and Hell Humility is key to acceptance in heaven. God recounts the story of Iblis' rejection from heaven and God's generous compromise with him, giving him “respite till the Appointed Day”, when God will then “fill Hell with you and all those that follow you” (Q38.80-85) Forgiveness God is "Oft-Forgiving"; He is also Just, punishing those who have done wrong. In Sura 38, God speaks of entire civilizations wiped out because they did not believe (e.g. Q:38 10-17). However, the Sura suggests that God will forgive a believer if his faith is strong and true and he repents for his misdeeds. We, too, can be saved by God and given a place in heaven on the Day of Judgment

Pictures of Moses with horns (or rays of light). “A curious feature of medieval and renaissance depictions of Moses is that quite a few paintings and sculptures imagine him as horned. Indeed he looks a lot like a Pagan horned god in many of them. Many scholars believe this was due to a mistranslation in the Vulgate, the Latin translation of the Hebrew scriptures completed by St. Jerome. The key verse is Exodus 34:29-30, which in the New International Version of the Bible reads as follows: “When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the Lord. When Aaron and all the Israelites saw Moses, his face was radiant, and they were afraid to come near him.” The problem is this: the phrase “was radiant” is a translation of the Hebrew word “karan” which can also mean “was horned”. Only one Greek translation available to Jerome – that by the Jewish convert Aquila – understood “karan” to mean “had become horned.” Nonetheless, that is the definition that Jerome chose to go with.” (https://curiouschristian.blog/2019/08/12/the-horned-moses-in-medieval-art/)
This episode, which is somewhat more of a commentary, is brought to you by the Letter D - as in "deconstruction", "decolonization", "defunding" and even "de-mastering". Both in fact and fiction, in seriousness and satire, we find evidence of the Big D all around us. From food and art, to entertainment, social issues and politics, efforts to "de" something in our world seem more prevalent by the day. Listen to this episode of Before, Behind and Between to learn more about the Big D, and why the debate rages on about whether this trend is helpful and positive or simply a reactionary fad. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/steven-christianson/message

Letter D. Demystifying the food system. Diving in. Death and dying.
The Escapades of Letter D is a story about Alphabet D finding out a secret about his toys and also teaches how everyone can play together.Free activity sheets and other downloadable resources available at www.rituvaish.com/alphabet-escapades-letter-d.Send your artwork to rituvaish@gmail.com.TranscriptIt was night-time and all the alphabets had finished playing and together they put away all the toys: the duck, deer, dinosaur, doll, etc.
