Light for my path Psalm 119 is divided into 22 sections, which represent the 22 letters in the Hebrew alphabet.  "Nun" = 14th of 22 Hebrew letters. It signifies a "fish" (representing life/continuation) or a "faithful/bent-over servant," symbolizing humility and submission. (Joshua son of Nun) "Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path." ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119‬:‭105‬ ‭ "A Lamp for the next sentence" As Kingdom writers, we often want God to show us the whole story at once—the full outline, the perfect ending, the flawless draft. But this little verse reminds us that God usually gives light for the next step, not the entire road. A lamp doesn't flood the path with daylight. It reveals just enough to move forward safely. In the same way, God's Word may not reveal your entire book, message, or calling today—but it will illuminate your next paragraph, your next idea, your next faithful act of obedience. "For their command is a lamp and their instruction a light; their corrective discipline is the way to life." ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭6‬:‭23‬ ‭ "Because of that experience, we have even greater confidence in the message proclaimed by the prophets. You must pay close attention to what they wrote, for their words are like a lamp shining in a dark place—until the Day dawns, and Christ the Morning Star shines in your hearts. Above all, you must realize that no prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophet's own understanding, or from human initiative. No, those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God." ‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭19‬-‭21‬ ‭ If we give God's Word daily attention, it will provide us with the direction, correction, and wisdom we need to be the best Kingdom writers we can be.  We are humbling ourselves and acknowledging our need when we open God's Word. We won't find anything in the world that matches its substance and guidance.  It's 'alive and active' as Hebrews 4:12 says, because the same God who spoke creation into being by His word is the same God who spoke the words in our Bibles. He's the same God who will empower our own written words that point to Him.  Closing: God is not asking you to see the whole journey. He is asking you to trust Him with the next line. Very recently Day Star has been the newest casualty. Sadly to say the information and things happening are all the same as the others. The light of truth is revealing the darkness that has been kept long hidden from the public while they live exhorbitant, opulent lives. Jonathan and Suzy Lamb have chosen to stand up for the truth in a situation that is eggregious. Against all odds against them, through much prayers, tears and fasting, they chose to turn to the Lord and walk away from the family's cult-like religious, billion dollar a year industry. I thank God for them and their beautiful, outspoken, humble stand in the truth of the Bible. I really feel that they are a kind of sign or symbol to all of us that we too must do the same during these days of great deception. Let us keep to the shining paths of truth that lead to eternal life. Shun the false light, wealth and titles and live in "the low plains" where His happy laborers serve Jesus with simplicity and great joy. "For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD." Psalm 117:2. "Give me Father, a purpose deep, in joy or sorrow Thy word to keep; faithful and true whate'er the strife, pleasing Thee in my daily life; only one life, 'twill soon be past, only what's done for Christ will last." - C.T. Bible Reading: Psalm 119:97-104; John 8:12; 1 John 1:5Lucas and Grandpa were camping together in the mountains. One day, after they had hiked to the top of a lookout point, they sat down to enjoy a late afternoon snack. "How are your friends at school?" Grandpa asked. "Your Dad said you and Bryer had a fight.""Yeah." Lucas sighed. "I'm not sure what to do about it."Grandpa was about to respond when he noticed the sun getting low in the sky. "We need to start heading back before it gets dark. The path up here is rocky, and it will be much easier to get back to the campsite in the light." Sure enough, the sun soon dipped behind the mountains. Then, as the moon began rising, Lucas pointed at it and exclaimed, "Look, Grandpa, it's a full moon tonight!" As Lucas and Grandpa continued down the path, the moon suddenly disappeared behind a cloud. Almost immediately, Lucas tripped over a small rock. Grandpa helped him up and made sure he was all right. "We'd better wait here for a bit until the moon is out again. This path is too hard to walk without any light." Grandpa thought for a moment. "You know, this path is a lot like life. Although our mountain path is full of rocks, the light from the moon keeps us from tripping. And life is also full of hard choices and temptations that may make us stumble or fall, but we have a light to guide us. Jesus is the light on our path.""How do we know where Jesus is leading us?" asked Lucas."He guides us through His Word, the Bible," Grandpa replied. "The truth and wisdom of the Word of God light our way. In the New Testament, Jesus Himself is called the Word. His sacrifice for us is a demonstration of God's love, and through the Holy Spirit, He helps us live out His love, truth, and wisdom in our lives. Just as we need the moon to light our way back to camp, we need Jesus to guide us in the way He wants us to live."Just then, the moon came out again, illuminating their campsite in its glow. Lucas turned to Grandpa. "When we get back to the tent, can I see what Jesus says about friendship in your Bible?"Grandpa smiled and nodded. "Let's go!"–Bethany Den BoerHow About You?Have you ever felt unsure what to do about a hard situation, like a trying friendship? Did you know that Jesus is the Word that guides us? If you feel stuck or confused in a situation, look to Jesus's life and the rest of the Bible. As you learn more about God's love and the truth and wisdom of His Word, trust the Holy Spirit to help you walk the same path of hope, love, and peace as Jesus in your own life.Today's Key Verse:Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. (NKJV) (Psalm 119:105)Today's Key Thought:Walk in the light of God's Word

We continue our exploration of Hemingway's short stories with his masterful narrative, "A Clean, Well-Lighted Place." To aid us in this effort, we're joined by Jeffrey Herlihy-Mera, who is a professor at the University of Puerto Rico and served as the 2022 Obama Fellow at the Obama Institute for Transnational American Studies. Herlihy-Mera is the author of, among other works, Decolonizing American Spanish. In this conversation, we examine key dynamics between the major characters in this very short story. Breathe in slowly and deeply Until a gentle rhythm  Of deep breaths Occurs naturally. LONG PAUSE While breathing,  Listen to your breath, To the air entering you, Full of calm and relaxation. LONG PAUSE And listen to the breath Leaving you, Taking away stress And distractions. Leaving you fully relaxed And at peace. PAUSE Now take a moment And become aware of your pillow. Your soft, cushy pillow  That gently cradles your head. PAUSE Feel the pillow caressing your head, And supporting it, With loving care, So you can deeply relax. PAUSE Now breathe again. Breathe deep And let your body  Feel the bed beneath you, And the mattress that knows The exact amount to give into you, So it molds around your body. PAUSE Breathe into the mattress, Into your own little cave, That's perfectly sculpted, Around you.  For you, and you alone. PAUSE Now, imagine a blanket, Soft and fuzzy, So incredibly cozy As it enfolds you. PAUSE Allow yourself to breathe deeply, And let the blanket snuggle you, So you feel secure, And comfortable. And protected. PAUSE Now, imagine yourself Gently lifting off your bed, While wrapped comfortably In your blanket. As you take a deep breath, You gently float out into the night, Where you feel the warmth of the night, Sweetly kiss your cheeks. PAUSE And, after a moment, The blanket descends. And, as it does, Several tiny bunnies approach And gently nuzzle you. Their velvety fur is comforting, Almost relaxing, And their calm demeanor Brings a sense of peace to you. PAUSE You take a deep breath, And the blanket rises above the bunnies That stand on their hind legs, As if wishing you well. And the blanket sails away. PAUSE And, as you float away  With your blanket, You notice a meadow, Lighted by fireflies, So you can see  All the flowers And butterflies that awaken For your arrival. PAUSE The blanket skims slowly over the flowers, So you feel their silky petals Gently tickling you. PAUSE Dozens of sleeping butterflies awaken And open their wings, So you feel a gentle breeze Against your skin. A pair of butterflies touch your cheeks, Fanning them with their wings, To give you a real butterfly kiss. PAUSE The blanket continues, Floating through the meadow, Toward the very center, Where you notice a large white flower, Shimmering in the moonlight. The flower is big enough for you. PAUSE The blanket softly lowers you, Into the petal arms of the flower. They feel like silk and velvet Blending together To make the most delicious sensation. PAUSE And the petal arms of the flower, Wrap around you, Creating a luxurious bed, That warms and snuggles you. PAUSE And as you breathe again, Your mind and body, Let go, In this perfect place for you, So, you can peacefully dream, The night away. NAMASTE, BEAUTIFUL
