Joe has no real expectations for the Mets. He just wants them to give him “a season” and get him to football. Joe thinks Pete Alonso having a down year increases his chances of staying with the Mets after the season. Peter Schwartz is here for his first update of the day and begins with the Yankees, who were swept by the Reds. They'll still make the playoffs but nobody saw this swoon coming. Jerry thinks Aaron Judge seemed annoyed and was biting his tongue after the game yesterday. Jesse Winker did it to the Mets again. The Mets are in Pittsburgh tonight and Joe remembers two awful trips he took to the city for Jets playoff losses. The Joey Chestnut-less Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest crowned a new champion but the guys are all disgusted by the competition. In the final segment of the hour, Jerry asks Joe about some of the viral moments from his podcast. Joe watched “61” last night which prompts Jerry to ask him what is different about pitching now compared to back then.

He's very confident the Pacers will beat the Celtics. The fact the Knicks have haters means they are finally in the conversation again. Boomer thinks it's time for the Knicks to move on from a few guys, Mitchell Robinson being one of them. Jerry returns for an update and starts with all the sounds of the Knicks series loss to the Pacers. Jalen Brunson fractured his hand during the game. The Timberwolves eliminated the Nuggets. In the final segment of the hour, Gio has to leave at 9am today as he's going up to Albany to be honored by the NY Legislature as Italian American of the Year or something. How can a truck launch a rock or whatever out the back of it and be completely inculpable?"Dad, using an over-the-shoulder lane check to make brief eye contact with his son, said, "First of all, I can tell you've been working on those vocab words, so well done."
