In my exploration of angels, there is an angel that has avoided being named to me until now. What I've been finding out is that he is the most misunderstood, shunned creature of God out there. With nicknames like, "Shadow of God" is it any wonder why this angel is surrounded by controversy. Is he a fallen angel? Or one of the Seraphim order doing God's work in secret? Did he in fact build the Ark of the Covenant?Let's get into it. Bezaliel (Bez-A-liel) 101First off, the basics.I found this from Digital Bible, "Bezaliel, whose name is Hebrew in origin and means "Shadow of God," is often mentioned within esoteric and Jewish mystical traditions. If you've heard the phrase 'esoteric and mystical traditions' but couldn't define it, I found this. It is another way of saying 'mystery tradition' or the seeking of hidden or inner meaning. Back to the angel, or Shadow of God, at hand. While some sources suggest that he is a fallen angel, others propose that Bezaliel is an archangel who belongs to the order of angels known as Seraphim, famous for their six wings and their close proximity to God. In the grimoire "A Dictionary of Angels," writer Gustav Davidson includes Bezaliel as one of the many non-canonical angels. In some interpretations, Bezaliel is portrayed as an angel who fell from grace, although the specifics behind his fall are not elaborately explained. Seeking more information, I found it on YouTube.Myth Cast from YouTube asks...What if there was an angel so mysterious, so powerful and so hidden...that even Heaven and Hell don't fully understand him? Meet Bezaliel - the 13th Watcher and Angel of Shadows. In their short video linked in the show notes, they say that Bezaliel is mentioned as one of the Watchers, the 13th Watcher to be specific. This week Mark and Josh complete their yearly Spooky Season ritual of reading some H. P. Lovecraft, this time focusing on "The Tree" and "The Shunned House".

The Old Man Haunted by BigfootIn a smoky Nashville bar, the Jim buys a beer for the elderly, down-on-his-luck Samuel, a monthly regular living frugally on Social Security in a rooming house. Spotting Samuel's hunger, the narrator orders him food and invites him to join at his table. Over burgers and beers, the narrator introduces himself as Jim from Louisville, fresh from hurricane repair work in Florida. Samuel, born and raised in North Carolina's mountains, opens up about why he left his beloved home at 21—not for war or lack of work, but for a darker reason. Eager for steady pay during scarce times, young Samuel joined a logging company, impressing the foreman with his marksmanship and landing a job as an armed deputy enforcing land evictions on mountain families. Shunned by his community for aiding the bosses, Samuel grew isolated. The story's climax came during the third attempt to evict the reclusive Prater clan from their ancient 1,800-acre forest homestead, led by the fierce Mammy Prater. Using kidnapped six-year-old Jenny as leverage, the deputies arrived to collect weapons and demand departure. The Praters complied eerily, gathering to unleash a haunting, high-pitched chant that summoned massive, hairy ape-like beasts from the woods. The creatures slaughtered the entire eviction party in a frenzy of boulders, gunfire, and gore, sparing only Samuel after Mammy declared him a "token" to flee and never return or speak of it. Traumatized, Samuel was forever exiled from his home and family. Johanna was raised as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Her story encompasses a childhood marked by secret abuse, a home environment with a dangerous and alcoholic father, and what could be considered a shocking and early marriage, ultimately leading to her being shunned by the Jehovah's Witnesses. • Secret Abuse: Johanna was molested by an older cousin for about a year and a half when she was around 8 or 9 years old. This was kept a family secret, and she was told not to tell anyone, not even her father. Her mother, upon finding out, questioned Johanna in a blaming way, asking “Why did you let him do that to you?”. This incident highlights a significant secret abuse that Johanna endured without adequate support or protection from her family. • A Dangerous Dad: Johanna's father is described as an alcoholic who became increasingly violent as she got older. There were instances where he would smash things, break into the house after being locked out, and Johanna would overhear him threatening to kill the entire family. The family would sometimes leave for short periods due to his violence, but were discouraged from permanently leaving by elders in the congregation. Ultimately, her father died by suicide using a homemade gun, and Johanna believed his plan involved killing the entire family as he had six bullets for six family members. This paints a picture of a dangerous father who created a volatile and fear-filled home environment. • A Shocking Marriage: Johanna got engaged at 15 or 16 and married at 17 to a 22-year-old fellow Jehovah's Witness. This occurred partly as an escape from her difficult home life, as her mother and stepfather did not want her there. The circumstances surrounding the engagement, where her mother suggested marriage as a solution to them being forbidden to talk, and the young age of Johanna, particularly within a non-Witness context, could be considered shocking. Johanna herself acknowledges her naivety about relationships due to her sheltered upbringing. • But Johanna is shunned by Jehovah's Witnesses. Today she shares her story for herself and for her son that was featured on a previous episode. What's up Bros?! We are back in the new year with our Southern Charm recap! In this episode, the group continues to question Craig's involvement in their lives. JT is still feeling the wrath of Madison as he tries to figure out where he stands with most of the group. Now he has the B-Word rumor lingering over him and although he may not be our favorite, until we have evidence supporting it we have a hard time believing that one. Rod recommends that Taylor bring Gaston around the rest of the group so that they can form their own opinions, but we are also wondering exactly what Taylor brings to this show now. Austen is clearly missing his buddy Craig, but at Miss Patricias birthday dinner, Shep and Whitney of all people, question Craig's new life decisions and his commitment to his business. Shep goes as far as to question how much Craig actually does for his company.
