There are so many interesting things to see out at Overland Expo. From jumping fire pits to outrageous $1 Million builds it really does have it all. Something we tried this year was the classes for the mini assistant. She took the first aid class "Booboos and Outchies" and we even learned a thing or two. Tyler went and took a class on how to use your chainsaw. Besides the boring 9 hr classroom session it sounded like a very interesting course. He learned proper liming, bucking, and felling techniques. Now that he is certified he will be able to use a chainsaw in national forests whenever he is doing trail maintenance. Intro  Merry Marinello gives a stellar interview and description of the Founder of All about Learning Press Marie Rippel, who had a child with severe dyslexia. They were told he would never read or write. She researched, figured out how to teach her son and also tutored kids for 20 years. She doesn't want anyone to have to go through what they did.
