We mentioned in last week’s episode that there were SO MANY foundation launches this season that the whole topic requires its own dedicated episode! But we also wanted to deliver some really practical tips for how to shop for and apply foundation, so today’s Glow Down guest is red carpet makeup pro Mélanie Inglessis. With clients like Game of Thrones star Lena Headey and modern day ingenue Taylor Russell, Mélanie lends her very French approach to foundation application to produce that au natural, I-didn’t-try-too-hard look — the complete opposite of the Instagram beat face. Mélanie shares the skincare secrets to landing the smoothest, most believable end result, as she opens her professional kit to reveal the go-to foundations she uses to glam up clients for Hollywood events. Then, we put a handful of fall’s buzziest fall foundations to the test as Mélanie swatches Kat Von D, Fenty and RMS LIVE on the mic. Find out which winning formula Mélanie decides she needs to add to her own kit, stat. And tune in to the very end when Jill and Carlene offer up their own favourites they plan to wear all season long. Don’t forget to make our hotline bling! Today we take you inside the mind of French fragrance founder Kilian Hennessy, who launched his range of luxe scents, By Kilian, in 2007. Find out why his bold gourmand blend, Love Don’t Be Shy, is Rihanna’s ride-or-die perfume (it’s sold out in every store around the world!) We also introduce you to the all-time best-seller, Good Girl Gone Bad, a white floral that comes in a Serpentine-embellished, lacquer clutch. Plus, Kilian spills all on his next creation launching this month – his biggest departure from the 35 existing fragrances he’s created to date. But that’s not all. Last year, Kilian introduced the world to scented lipsticks! Listen to the end to find out whether more perfumed cosmetics are to come… If the name sounds familiar, Kilian Hennessy is indeed of Hennessy ilk. Here, the dapper Frenchman recalls his family’s history starting out in cognac, which led to the LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy) empire. Brushes with famous perfumers, intimate details working with a bad boy designer, and the real reason Kilian refused to work for big fragrance companies – whether you love perfume or not, you’ll not want to miss the origin story behind the sleeper label unafraid to make a big statement. Everyone talks about "metabolism." Slow metabolisms, fast metabolisms, metabolic adaptation, stubborn metabolisms, all that. But... what actually is "your metabolism?" Can you point to it?  Today's episode was inspired by a follower question essentially asking me to help her better understand what "metabolism" actually means. So lets talk allllll about -what "metabolism" actually is from a physical perspective (definition time) -what metabolism practically means -the different components of your metabolism -how those components change/adapt in various scenarios -what having a "slow" or "fast" metabolism actually means -a couple examples of why and how metabolisms adapt to periods of low energy -how metabolic rate is tested -lots more! ----------------- Today's episode of EMBody Radio is brought to you by Four Sigmatic. Four Sigmatic provides the best in adaptogenic/therapeutic mushroom products. You’ve seen me post about this stuff on Instagram and IG stories all the time, and I wanted to take a sec to tell you a little more about them today. I started using them because I love adaptogens, and many of their mushroom products are just that – adaptogens. Adaptogens basically help you respond better to physical and emotional stress. I run a business, run multiple social media platforms that tie into my business, I’m a student, and I have a life outside of all that that I’m trying to live, so stress management is key. Her book changed Jordan’s life, as did the practice of Kundalini. And through this conversation… we think your life will be changed too -- #nojoke. #exceptwedojokeinthisepisode, because Guru Jagat is hilarious. As Shaman Durek told us in last week’s episode, spirituality does NOT have to be serious and/or boring. Ever. After meeting Yogi Bhajan in 2002, Guru Jagat was launched onto her path as a Kundalini yoga teacher. She has since emerged as a leading global figure helping to create, delineate, and refine the new feminine matriarchal archetype, sharing how we can use these ancient yogic technologies to step into our power and set our soul on fire. We know you will enjoy this episode as much as we have, and cannot wait to hear your thoughts. You can visit Guru Jagat at the Venice location of RA MA, in NYC, and in Mallorca! She is also going on a European tour this summer and there is a chance that Jordan may join her for a portion of it, so stay tuned! Women supporting women is what we are all about. Jamie has had a huge impact on Jordan’s life – she was the first person to lovingly tell Jordan that she didn’t look healthy while she was raw vegan. That conversation completely changed Jordan’s life, and now Jamie is helping others do the same. You can learn more about this story in Jordan’s book, Breaking Vegan. Jamie made the incredibly brave decision to walk away from (and CLOSE) Gingersnaps to start her coaching business Organically, Jamie, where she works as a mind shifter, healer, reiki master, manifester, and coach. It took GUTS to leave a thriving restaurant and pursue her passion, but we are so grateful that she has stepped into her light to share her deepest gift with all of us… HEALING. Kick back and enjoy this heart to heart conversation on all things manifesting, expanding, healing, moving on, letting go, having courage from deep within, KUNDALINI, and so much more. We’d like to thank Four Sigmatic for sponsoring the show. These magical, medicinal mushrooms are a big food health trend right now (#OnShrooms), probably because they’re packed full of adaptogens, superfoods, and other things that are super good for you! Four Sigmatic is always releasing new products (like their Mushroom Hot Cacao or Mushroom Mocha with Chaga), and each one is incredibly delicious. You can go to FourSigmatic.com/BLONDE to get 15% off of your order. Jordan also wants to tell you about something she’s been loving lately: Woo for Play, an incredible, all-natural, coconut oil-based lube. We love it for SO many reasons, but our favorite thing is that it empowers women to bring a sexual health product into the bedroom (without making the bedroom any less fun) – and it’s so good for your body that it’s literally edible! You can get 10% off your Woo if you use the promo code BLONDE at WooForPlay.com. And one more special discount... Jordan wants you to go hang at the Ojai Valley Inn! Use the code TBB2018 for 15% off of a midweek stay between now and July 31st, 2018. You can book with this code until May 31st, 2018. Ojai is a magical oasis and you will most certainly fall in love with everything about it, the way Jordan and Jonathan did on their recent trip!
