In this 17-minute episode, I explore the deep emotional impact of body comments and the silent shame many of us carry around our appearance.Drawing from my work as a mental health professional, personal conversations, and my brother's powerful transformation story, we dive into how societal standards, cultural conditioning, and generational wounds shape our relationship with our bodies. We unpack the emotional weight of seemingly innocent comments, the lack of body literacy in areas like menstruation and perimenopause, and why healing requires safe, supportive community.I also share how our upcoming Tuscany retreat is designed to help women reconnect with their bodies, food, and inner wisdom...with love, not judgment. This episode is an invitation to reclaim your body, rewrite the story, and feel safe in your own skin.♾ In a fast-paced world like the one we live in, time is one of our most important assets. For a few minutes every episode, I, Tannaz Hosseinpour, will be discussing topics that aim to enhance the quality of your life, by helping you feel empowered to take inspired action on your personal growth journey.Connect with me for daily insights on:FacebookInstagramTiktokTo sign up to the upcoming Tuscany retreat from August 18-23, click hereMore resources available on : www.minutesongrowth.comThis podcast is for educational purposes only. For many of us who grew up in the the 90s, Julia Stiles was an integral part of our coming of age. Her portrayal of the clever, acerbic Kat in 10 Things I Hate About You was a radical reinvention of the blonde teenage female rom-com lead. Her roles in Save The Last Dance and Mona Lisa Smile spoke to our adolescent feminist awakenings and catapulted Stiles to stardom. And, just like the heroines she played, Stiles chose to do things a bit differently. At the height of her teenage fame, she went to study English at Columbia University, continuing to act throughout her degree, most notably in the first of four Jason Bourne films. Her latest project is her directorial debut - the feature film, Wish You Were Here, which Stiles also produced and co-wrote. As a mother of three, Stiles said that her parenting informed her ability to direct. Grief, how to stop caring what everyone thinks and discussing the most difficult times in their lives - Elizabeth and Julia answer YOUR questions in our subscriber series, Failing with Friends. In this kickoff message of our Body Issues series, Pastor Jordan unpacks Paul's teaching in 1 Corinthians 12 about the Church as one unified body made up of many unique parts. This message explores how the interdependent nature of the body of Christ can either fuel you or frustrate you—depending on how you embrace it. It's important that we recognize that our mission as followers of Jesus would be overwhelming without each other, and that the diversity of the body sharpens our spiritual sensitivity and exposes us to opportunities for growth.

What does it take to age well? According to Instagram, it seems aging is all about what you eat and how you exercise. But, what if there's more to aging well than that? Today, author and Christian body image coach, Heather Creekmore, will encourage you with 4 strategies to age well that have a much greater impact on your health and on the way you feel about aging than any kale salad or cycling class. She'll look at how the science shows that gratitude can extend your life and improve your health. Similarly, she'll look at how finding community and activities you have fun doing can do the same. Heather talks about why it's not helpful to follow a restrictive diet and be rigid with exercise if you want to age well, because there's more to aging than just the way we eat and move. Today's episode is a conversation I think is so important to hear because it features Sarah Donner, a brilliant woman who started as a fashion model and is now a hypnotherapist and health coach. She started modelling when she was just 14 years old and while going through teenage body changes, had her whole self-worth focused on a career about her body and what size she was. It was when Sarah transitioned into start-up companies and the tech world that she learned there was so much more to her than her body. Sarah's story and the work she does now are just so inspiring and really drive home the fact that we all think if we were thinner, with model bodies, we'd have more confidence or opportunities. But I think Sarah's story kind of disproves that idea.Sarah speaks frankly about the dark cycle of tying our self-worth to our body size and looks. She explains the struggle to find an identity outside of her looks and the intense imposter syndrome she experienced, and still does, in other careers. We can all identify with that, really, or certainly I can. One of the exciting things about Sarah's journey is her work in hypnotherapy now. Hypnotherapy is not the same thing as hypnosis acts in Vegas or on TV, the two get confused, but it is a tool used to bypass the conscious critical mind which makes us more receptive to new ideas and realizations. Hypnotherapy can be a very useful tool in finding what lies at the root of self-worth or food issues. Like myself, Sarah focuses a lot on coaching toward intuitive eating. Hypnotherapy can help get to the truth of our struggle so that we are free to pursue intuitive eating because unless we can connect with our bodies, we can't hear the signals intuitive eating requires. This conversation with Sarah is so important and I'm really glad you're here listening to it now.About Sarah Donner:Founder of Siva Wellness, Sarah grew up in Germany and started her career in fashion, which allowed me to travel the world at a young age. After finishing her degree in New York City, Sarah pivoted into the start-up world and lived between New York and Europe. She had the privilege to work in some terrific tech startups and is the founding member of an AI-backed beauty company called 2250. Sarah is grateful for her past work experiences but needless to say, living that fast-paced life without the right tools in place left its mark on her and she ended up feeling mentally and physically depleted. She suffered from imposter syndrome and anxiety and was constantly battling all sorts of ailments that traditional medicine could not help her with. That is why she started to look for alternative methods to heal herself, and the journey and results have been remarkable. After receiving her license as a Holistic Health Coach from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York and her Hypnotherapy License from the Center of  Integrative Hypnosis, she studied Transpersonal Hypnotherapy with Allison Axinn in Tuscany, Italy. Sarah decided to turn her passion into her career and Siva was born. Siva is for everyone that is ready to implement change with a long lasting effect and without any of the side effects.__Learn more about Sarah Donner:Website: siva-wellness.comInstagramLearn more about Dr. Michelle Tubman and Wayza Health:Website: www.wayzahealth.comFollow me on Facebook and Instagram

Today I am welcoming my dear friend Heather Creekmore to talk about her radical solution to body image issues for Christian women who have tried everything. Heather and I talk about our truth verses God's Truth – things we think we know, but let's be honest: when it comes to our bodies and how we perceive them, we are not always thinking straight or biblically. Or is it just me? Heather talks about idolatry and how our culture has promoted the wrong kind of body image and fostered idolatry – right under our noses, and much to our confusion. We discuss the cultural rules around food, and the history of “eating best practices” – aka, dieting – in the past 40 years, and how they have wreaked havoc on our faith and confidence. Now, this is not a conversation only for women! If you are a man, and have a wife, mother, daughter, sister or female friend, then chances are, one or more of them deal with body image issues – and you might not understand it, or know what to do to help. This conversation will be enlightening to you because it will give you insights into our female brain and emotions! You absolutely want to listen. Heather is releasing a brand new book, titled “The 40-day body image workbook – help for Christian women who have tried everything.” And the title absolutely says it all! So, I think this book needs to make your Christmas wish-list. So, make sure to grab your copy, in pre-order until December 12, here. Also, Heather is offering a phenomenal online course which is a deep dive into all the core issues behind body image problems. You will find more at https://www.improvebodyimage.com/christian-body-image-course-coaching You do not want to miss this! MORE ABOUT HEATHER CREEKMORE  “Hi! I'm Christian body image coach, Heather Creekmore. I was stuck in body image bondage for decades. Now, I want to help you feel more confident and peaceful about your body. I've learned that body image freedom is about so much more than mirrors or scales, it's about what digging in to our core beliefs about beauty, value, and where worth really comes from. As your coach, I want to help you re-frame the way you see yourself, your purpose, and your body. Using the lens of scripture as our guide, we'll journey to a land that may feel unfamiliar: the land of Christ-centered confidence. I can tell you first-hand, there's no better way to live. If you're tired of stressing over your weight or appearance, I get it. I know you're afraid that this won't work because nothing has worked before. But, I promise you, this time will be different.” MORE ABOUT THE 40-DAY WORKBOOK More than ever, you are bombarded with intense pressure to meet culture's elusive standards of beauty. Today, I'm talking to Kristi Koeter. Kristi is a former journalist and personal trainer, marketer, and now author, based in the Austin, Texas, area. Two of Kristi's three children have had anorexia nervosa, and both completed Partial Hospitalisation Programs in the U.S. Her oldest daughter, now 19, has been stable in her recovery for several years, whilst her youngest, 14 years old, is still early in her recovery. When Kristi's youngest daughter's weight started dropping rapidly after she came out of treatment, Kristi knew that she needed to take more proactive action. She also ended up having to take a really hard look at herself; her own eating and body image issues. Using the Maudsley Method, and her daughter's care team, this has really supported her daughter in transitioning in her recovery. In Kristi's just-released, co-authored book called Show Your Work: Successful Women Share the Bumpy Roads to Their Biggest Wins, she discusses the realization that in order to help her youngest daughter recover from her eating disorder, she had to address her own years of disordered eating and overexercise. She is also writing Almost Sated on Substack, where she is chronicling her transition to intuitive eating and healthy movement. She knows that it's possible for parents to help their children even if they are struggling with their own eating issues, but she has felt passionate about working on herself to support this whole process. When Kristi's not writing, she is mountain biking, hiking, or spending time with my kids and new husband. So Kristi and her daughters are on an incredible journey. Kristi herself has had to do some extraordinarily difficult and challenging work in facing her own demons in this process, which she is doing wholeheartedly. I absolutely commend Kristi for her vulnerability and openness in talking about all of this. In the episode today, Kristi talks about: - What it's like to have two children with anorexia, and how different the experience was with each of them Giving up dieting for the well-being of loved ones  Tips for parents making the transition to intuitive eating and healthy movement after a lifetime of dieting and exercise. So much value and inspiration here. I hope that you enjoy it. Happy Satiated Saturday! When I was diving deeper into healing my relationship with food, my therapist at the time suggested I read  Eating in the Light of the Moon  by Anita Johnston. I was living by myself for the first time, trying to practice slowing down, and enjoying spending time with myself. Today we pray for strength. Food, eating, and body image struggles are real. But God's word encourages us that we don't have to fight them alone. We can be strong because of who is helping us. Today, we talk about how to invite God to help us with these issues and how to let him lead and guide each day. The world wants to tell you that you'll get stronger when you accomplish your goals or when you follow the plan perfectly, but that's not God's prescription. He says strength comes when we rely entirely on Him. He enables us. He empowers us. If you're hoping to meet some physical/body-related goals this year, know that putting serving God above serving your body is the best way to find strength. Today's Verse and Action Step: Verse: Isaiah 41:10 "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Action: 5 push-ups a day of any kind (standing and leaning against a wall, knees down, regular push-ups). Memorize Isaiah 41:10 and recite it while you do your push-ups each morning or evening or while you're cooking dinner or getting dressed for the day. Ready to get free this year? I don't know about you, but I've always found some aspects of the body positivity movement to be impossible to apply to my real life. From reciting affirmations in the mirror to feeling this daunting pressure to radically love every inch of myself, I just couldn't get on board - it never felt realistic or achievable to me. But then I discovered Gabi Fresh's content on Instagram and learned about the concept of body neutrality: which leaves room for the times we find it hardest to love ourselves and our physical body, rather than feeling like we have to be obsessed with the way we look 100% of the time. I knew after watching a few of Gabi's videos, I had to have her on the show to commiserate about the days we just hate ourselves–to put it bluntly–and how to navigate our often-tumultuous relationship with our body, brain, and being.     Gabi Gregg AKA @gabifresh, to her almost-a-million Instagram followers is a creative director, writer, former blogger, designer, and the self-titled ‘OG Fat Girl'. Not only has she been posting her glam outfits for over a decade, she's also, interestingly, one of the very first influencers to ever get into the brand collaboration space. From designing revolutionary swimsuits to creating stylish and highly-coveted plus-size clothing collections, there are very few things Gabi hasn't done.    Gabi and I talked about the moments from our childhood when we first became aware of our body's supposed shortcomings, and why we still remember those comments so sharply. I asked her if she feels Facetune and body neutrality are mutually exclusive, and how to confront people in your life, from your mom to your neighbor, that still insist on commenting on your body. We talked about feeling jealous when your friend loses weight, dating and being fetishized, reclaiming words like fat, and feeling like rejections are all rooted in people's judgment of your body. Gabi shared her experience with both chronic illness and mental illness, how those impact her physical health, and why some people feel very strongly about her weight.   Download this episode of Tell Me About It with Jade Iovine wherever you get your podcasts!
