Trigger warning: in today's episode, we're having a powerful discussion around men's mental health, including conversations around suicide + suicidal thoughts, anxiety + panic attacks, and the depths of the dark nights of the soul. Today we're joined by Chase Chewning of Ever Forward Radio , a repeat and continually powerful guest on the show. This past year, Chase has been presented with the challenge of a lifetime - after finally healing from the PTSD of his father's death almost 2 decades ago, Chase was faced with a new challenge: navigating the lowest mental health period he's ever experienced, including debilitating panic attacks. To top it off, this mental health crisis hit him during a period of massive business growth. Today's show is a story not just of resilience, ubt extreme, unfiltered vulnerability of what it means to truly embrace yourself even and especially in your darkest times, the importance of conversations around men's mental health, what it means to "lock it up" so you can do what needs to be done in the moment without being overcome by your feelings, letting past versions of yourself heal and serve you, and how to keep showing up for yourself, your work, and your family even and especially on your worst days. "Shadow work." You've probably heard one if not more spiritual gurus talk about it on IG (and... probably butcher it). Today, we're clearing up all the myths and misconception with Shadow Integration Coach, Chris Orozco. In today's show, we talk about what shadow work is, what the shadow is and how it's often misportrayed online, how you can start shadow work, and in true EMBody Radio fashion, hear some powerful personal anecdotes from Chris that show he truly lives his mission. From how he got started working as a shadow work coach, to how he left it completely and found his way back again, to how he took himself through another season of personal alchemy these last 2 years, finding himself more internally challenged than ever before, and how he came out on the other side. We also talk about tactical tools for perfectionists and those who struggle to take action when it comes to building the life they want to live, and why sometimes, we're actually terrified of our dream lives/selves. Have you ever felt like your body and metabolism just "weren't the same" after years spend trying to diet and get "fit?" Has it ever felt like the more hardcore you got in your fitness pursuits, things actually started backfiring, and you started gaining weight uncontrollably that wouldn't come off, all while developing symptoms like bloating, food intolerances, anxiety, poor digestion, irregular or missing periods, chronic fatigue, and chronic inflammation? And if you said yes, have you ever felt hopeless or like you were destined to be overweight and tired for the rest of your life? Today's guest Vince Pitstick has worked with thousands of women like you and beyond. Vince has spent the last decade diving deep into functional health and nutrition to help with this exact problem. Since he set out on this mission, he's created Nutrition Dynamic, the largest 1-on-1 health coaching company in America, and co-founded Metabolic Mentor University, a program that helps hundreds of health + wellness coaches become certified in functional nutrition so they can carry out their mission of improving their clients' health and lives every single day. On today's show, we're discussing functional nutrition and metabolism, diving into topics such as: -why metabolism goes to shit when we diet for too long -metabolic dysfunction, -how a "hard core" fitness lifestyle can lead to more fat gain and worse health in the long term - the concept of "metabolic forgiveness" - the impact of our emotional state + mindset on food influences nutrient metabolism - the path forward to restoring metabolism after years of chronic dieting, menopause, chronic illness, and more Check out Vince on EMBody Radio: 5 Signs of Metabolic Dysfunction Check out Vince on EMBody Radio: Post Contest Dieting and Metabolic Adaptation FOLLOW VINCE ON IG Metabolic Mentor University YouTube Channel Metabolic Mentor University Interested in a luxury 1:1 online health coaching experience? Or maybe you've just found yourself in a state of curiosity about life, your beliefs, and what you're meant to do with your time here on Earth. Today we're joined by my good friend and 3-peat EMBody Radio guest, Chase Chewning. We're diving in to Chase's most recent journey of becoming, his foray into the world of psychedelics, using entheogens like MDMA and psilocybin as tools for changing your state and becoming more connected to the world and people around you, one of the best ways to shift away from burnout, how ketamine assisted therapy helped Chase navigate PTSD from the loss of his father, and learning the true duality of how little we matter as water droplets in the river of life, and how important we are to that river at the same time.  This show is for entertainment and educational purposes only and we are not condoning the use of illegal or uncontrolled substances. Sleep. What a beautiful and essential thing, amirite? I'm right. I don't know about yall, but I can handle getting a little hangry. But if my sleep is messed up? All bets are off. The last 6-8 years, largely as a byproduct of being a general health enthusiast and also investing a lot of time and energy into competitive bodybuilding, learning how to optimize my sleep has been a huge priority.   Sleep is one of our biggest forms of recovery, right up there with our nutrition. If we can harness the power of good sleep, everything from our mood to our fat loss to our performance to our blood sugar regulation improves.   Today's episode is coming from someone who has devoted quite a bit of time and effort into optimizing a lesser-appreciated aspect of our sleep: your pillow.   Yep, that's right, your pillow.   We've heard from all the fancy mattress companies, and yall know how much I love my performa sleep mattress, but I foolishly never thought to give my pillows much thought. I knew I was picky with pillows, which you'll hear more about on the episode, but I didn't know we could actually have… an optimized pillow for our sleep needs and preferences????   Today we're chatting with Susana Saeliu, the co-founder and CEO of Pluto Pillow. Susana started experiencing neck pain in 2017 and found that the main offender was her pillow. So, she set out to create a company that solved pillow problems around the world through crafting the perfect pillow.   Thus, Pluto Pillow, the first and only custom sleep pillow that's crafted to your body stats, how you sleep, and what you like, was born. At Pluto, they take in all sorts of stats and preferences to help build a pillow that's truly bespoke to you and your needs for your best sleep experience yet. Today we're talking all things sleep hygiene, being a female in the entrepreneurial space, and finding your voice as a woman in business. This episode is so inspiring, and Susana really does bring something so fresh and amazing to the business space. Annnnd if you're looking to treat yourself to a Pluto Pillow ofyour own, they're offering EMBody Radio listeners an exclusive discount of 10% off your custom pluto pillow with the code EMBODY at checkout on plutopillow.com. This episode in particular is reviewing the story of La Loba, The Wolf Woman, the collector of bones. I'm digging into my reflections from this story and how it's played out in my life in real time (including some of my experiences in Sedona), some of the heavy emotions it's been guiding me through, and some of the "bones" of my own that I've been gathering. I've also included some question prompts for YOU all and I really invite you to sit (preferably with a nice cup of tea or coffee or whatever your thing is) and journal/reflect on them to improve your own self understanding, intuition, and inner alignment. It was a real pleasure speaking with Zach for this week's episode. Talk about someone with a real passion for life, and a spiritual connection to what he does for others. Super easy to listen to his show, too, since it's in easy 1-minute bites. And he gives you a minute worth thinking about. I think Mary Catherine will certainly grow up in a world where her parents will always let her know how special she is to them. After our conversation, I got him Dan Young's (my previous guest, who hosts Total Wellness Radio) contact info. On today's episode of EMBody Radio, I had the pleasure of sitting down with my good friend Nick Komodina. In a world full of people who aren't who they portray themselves to be online, Nick is the absolute opposite of that. I’ll allow Nick to introduce himself, but if there’s anything I can say about him, it’s that he’s not only who he portrays himself to be online, he’s a lot more than that as well. We get into a lot of deep shit on this episode, and I really feel like you’re going to walk away from today’s show feeling inspired, more aware of yourself and the boxes you place yourself in, and overall more equipped to live unabashedly as YOU, and nobody else.   What you'll hear today:  -Growing up with his mom in a trailer park -How nothing is certain -Getting screwed in his first business endeavor and starting over from scratch opening his own gym, NK Fitness -How he hurt his own business by developing a “God complex” -Trying and failing over and over and over again to succeed -Opporutnity and what to do with it -What it truly means to give your best -Lessons in humility -Being OPEN and un-caging yourself because of fear -Learning how to “be a man” and what that means to him -The misconceptions surrounding the idea of the “alpha male” -Self care from the male perspective -The danger of not prioritizing love in your life -Being proud of your accomplishments -Getting one percent better every day -So many more wisdom nuggets! ------------ WHERE TO FIND NICK Instagram Shop Impakt (and use code EMDUNC for a lil discount) YouTube ------------ WHERE TO FIND ME Instagram YouTube Website

After a lonnnnng time away, EMBody Radio is back. And I'd go so far as to say that it is back with a big bang. Today on the show, Joseph Sheehey returns for his second podcast on EMBody Radio. Joe is a human on a journey - a journey that has led him to some very dark places, and now on a journey to truly experience the fullness of life, elevating himself and those around him, and working on creating products that truly help others live well. Joe is one of the founders of Cured Nutrition, one of the original leaders in the CBD industry and the CBD company I've aligned myself with over the last 2-ish years. Joe truly has an amazing story and this show re-ignited my fire behing why I love podcasting in the first place. This conversation left me feeling deeply, inspired, and with a newfound appreciate for my friend and for one of the men behind a company that I fully love and believe in. **TRIGGER WARNING** We do discuss mental illness/depression/suicide in this episode. Today we talk about: -What being a leader TRULY means, -The title of "the boss," -Leaving aerospace engineering with nothing more than a jar of spices and an idea to create a CBD company, -Losing yourself, feeling stuck, and dealing with depression and suicidal thoughts, -Losing $30,000 of working capital within the first few months of business, -Going into business with no idea what you're doing and figuring it out along the way, -What entrepreneurship REALLY looks like, -The importance of mentors, -Using vulnerability and openness, -The future of Cured, -Answering your questions on some big CBD basics (check out the Cured Collective podcast for more informative episodes on CBD, dosage, uses, etc), -Breaking the stigmas around cannabis SHOP CURED (You can support me directly by using this link, and you can save some money off your order by using the code EMILY at checkout!) It is very rare when our guest can trace their trigger moment all the way back to early childhood. Emily Duncan's came at about age 8 when her dance instructor made a comment about her body type that sent her down a dark spiral of eating disorders, body dysmorphia and spent years trying to find a healthy balance and relationship with food again. Emily found an immense source of help and internal motivation once she started strength training. From there she became a professional bikini competitor, competing in over a dozen shows and even taking first place in her class in 2016 at the NPC Jr. USA National Championships.  This episode can be summarized by this amazing quote from Emily: "Don't rely on the energy of the outside world to fuel you. Find out what makes YOU strong and what makes YOU awesome, and run with it." Emily lives a life ever forward through TENACITY - in fact it is her apparel line - and you will find an abundance of it in this episode and in her story.  Emily is a Bodybuilding.com, PESciecne and Gymshark athlete. Emily has an amazing and empowering podcast of her own, EmBody Radio, and can be found all over social media under "em_dunc". *NEW SPONSOR* We are SUPER excited to partner with Audible, our source of choice for audio books. While I've shared a good bit of my life, my past, and my story via social media, I've never really dove in and got into the nitty gritty of it. From being body shamed at 8 years old, to developing an eating disorder in high school, I've gone through a bit of body struggles... Ultimately, those struggles are what made me strong and are why I have fallen in love with the fitness industry - it has empowered me to be ME, not to fit a mold, whether that be physically or emotionally.
