In this episode I deep dive into seven steps I learned from a mediation course on self acceptance that I think are super valuable. I discuss validating feelings, observing feelings, avoiding minimizing experiences, belonging and renewing connections with others. The 7 steps are: 1. Accepting others starts with accepting ourselves. 2. Validate your feelings. 3. Feel what you feel without minimizing the experience. 4. Renew connections with people that DO want to connect with you. 5. Belonging is the antidote to rejection. 6. Gently reflect on what role we may have played in our rejection. 7. Ask yourself, how does this feel? - I deserve to be myself.

In this episode Fr. Bill's guest Dr. Ian McCabe explores Bill Wilson's spiritual experience in Towns Hospital as well as Bill's prior spiritual encounters that Bill often referred to as an experience of “the Presence.” The discussion sheds clarity on the goal of recovery which is not the elimination of EGO but bringing the EGO into RIGHT RELATIONSHIP with the GREATER SELF. Show Notes: Carl Jung and Alcoholics Anonymous by Ian McCabe Bill W: My First 40 Years “When (Roman Emperor) Marcus Aurelius gazed upon a bottle of the exquisite Falernian wine, therefore, he would remind himself that it was merely fermented grape juice, and that the fine meat dishes set before him were just the corpses of fish, birds, and pigs…” (Meditations, 6.13). --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/fatherbillw/support
These days many teachers are documenting their lives on podcasts, Instagram or other social media. It all adds up to a kind of virtual teacher's lounge. But as EdSurge Voices of Change writing fellow Patrick Harris II found out, sharing raw details of your teaching life online can bring big challenges, as well as unusual opportunities.
What is 9? The question I keep asking the guides of which they answer back as “what do you think is 9?” ❓
Everyone seeks to choose their own life path I've been working on sharing the power of conscious reality creation and mindfulness with the world. To do this, I've made numerous life choices for the path I intend to walk, the blogs I write, and even the journeys of my fictional characters in the sci-fi and fantasy I create. All of this comes down to Pathwalking – my life philosophy for how to choose your life experience – one step at a time. Problem: You feel dissatisfied with your life. You feel like your life is not yours to control. It feels as if you are on a hamster wheel or otherwise spinning endlessly with no set plan or direction. Solution: Practical applications of Pathwalking to make choices and decisions to guide your life experience how you desire it to go. Go with the flow When I began to develop Pathwalking, I came to see life as a flowing river. Like the river, it's not always a simple flow. Sometimes there are rocks, rapids, natural and artificial obstacles, and so on. As you flow in the river of life, situations, experiences, and seasons change. Some change is natural, some artificial. And there is little to nothing you can do about this because change is inevitable. Pathwalking, like Buddhism, recognizes the impermanence of life. When you don't go with the flow of positive, evolutionary change, you have three other options. 1. Resist and be drowned 2. Eventually, be swept into the stream 3. Swim What is Pathwalking – and what can it do for you? And what IS Pathalking? Mindfulness. Employing conscious awareness here and now to know yourself, in the present – the only time that's really real – and with that knowledge, seek, find, and walk a path of your choosing. This week's Applied Guidance for Mindfulness Tool: I've presented a tool just like this one before. But it's such a powerful tool that it's worth repeating. I'm sharing my 5 Questions for Mindfulness here. Set aside 2-5 minutes today to answer the questions. To begin, pause from whatever else you're doing. Take three slow, deep breaths in and out. Then, write out each question and the answer that comes to you in the moment. · What am I thinking? · What am I feeling? · How am I feeling? · What am I doing? · What are my intentions? These questions can only be genuinely answered in the present. The more you ask them – even if you don't write them out – the more you put yourself in touch with yourself. See how that self-awareness impacts all your choices going forward. In Season 1, Episode 8, Donna and Candice emphasize we are more than our physical bodies. Our true essence, our higher self, our soul, our spirit—whatever name you wish to use—is magnificent, but its energy is too powerful to fully download into the physical body. We are nonphysical energy beings contained in a physical body, and we use our brains to fine-tune our connections between the physical and the nonphysical realms. Today we talk with author Kelly Lydick about her new release Dream Incubation for Greater Self Awareness. Kelly is a Gateway Dreaming Coach, Reiki Master and is the founder of Waking the Dream. We start off by speaking about the importance of aligning of mind, body and spirit and how dreams bring us into balance and help us manage our self awareness. Kelly give specific suggestions around dream incubation including what kinds of questions to ask and what rituals will enhance the incubation. We also speak about working with colors in dreams using the chakra system and about incubation around creative projects. The second is Sandra from Texas who shares a dream about a person in a wheelchair. The third caller is Diana from San Antonio who shares a dream about a little girl and a closet. We all know them. Leaders who are not aware how their behavior impacts their team. They have no idea that they frequently put the team down or start yelling for no apparent reason. The kind of leader we all want to avoid and avoid becoming. One of the best ways to become the leader you admire is by being aware of how your behavior is being perceived by others. In other words, becoming more self-aware. It is possible to grow your self-awareness. And studies have linked it closely to increased performance. And increased salary (greater self-awareness = higher salary). So what are some ways you can immediately improve your self-awareness? Find out in this episode in which Chen Kadungure and I discuss what self-awareness is, ways to know how self-aware you are and what to do to increase it. 95% of people say that they're self-aware. But only 10-15% of people actually are. As my guest today says, that means "on a good day, 80% of us are lying to ourselves about how much we're lying to ourselves" and this blind spot can have big repercussions for our success and happiness. Her name is Tasha Eurich, and she's an organizational psychologist and the author of Insight: Why We're Not as Self-Aware as We Think, and How Seeing Ourselves Clearly Helps Us Succeed at Work and in Life. Tasha kicks off our conversation by arguing that our level of self-awareness sets the upper limit of our individual effectiveness and that self-awareness can be developed and is truly the meta skill of the 21st century. She then unpacks what it is you know about yourself when you possess self-awareness, how there are two types of this knowledge, internal and external, and how you can have one without the other. Tasha then outlines the seven pillars of self-awareness, the barriers to getting insights into them -- including falling into the cult of self -- and how these barriers can be overcome, including asking yourself a daily check-in question. We then discuss how two of the most common methods for gaining self-knowledge -- introspection and journaling -- can in fact backfire and how to do them more effectively by asking yourself what instead of why, and actually journaling less instead of more. We also get into why you should be an in-former, rather than a me-former on social media, how to become more mindful without meditation, and how to solicit and handle feedback from other people, including holding something called the "Dinner of Truth."If reading this in an email, click the title of the post to listen to the show.Resources/People/Articles Mentioned in PodcastThe Science of InsightsHow to Get More "Aha" InsightsDefine Your Core Values7 Habits of Highly Effective PeopleYou Need a Reset DayGet Out of Your Mind and Into Your LifeWhy I Stopped Journaling4 Questions That Will Crush the Fear of Missing OutHow to Get Better at Taking FeedbackInsight QuizConnect With TashaTasha's websiteTasha on TwitterListen to the Podcast! In this episode I share ways to help you develop greater self belief that are both mental and physical. "When you are required to exhibit strength it comes".-Joseph CampbellSelf belief isn't something that you're born with, it's something you develop. It takes time to grow and yet it is much like a diamond - it requires so much pressure before the beauty is finally revealed. On life's slippery slopes, your challenges are a call to reveal to you an inner strength and confidence that you might not have been seen unless a situation presented itself for you to act . To trust yourself to make the right choices in tough moments, will ultimately lead you to personal satisfaction, greater self belief and a life of wellbeing. In this episode I share some of my unusual methods for developing self belief when I was lacking in confidence which are both physical and mental. In the end the only thing that matters is that you learn to trust yourself, push your own boundaries and live a life you are deeply proud of that betters the whole.Enjoy the episode! If you like the podcast please support the show by SUBSCRIBING to get it first -And help it and others by leaving a REVIEW on Apple PodcastIf you want to learn how to meditate for FREEGET MY FREE 7 WAYS TO MEDITATE CHALLENGE HereFor more infowww.jamesgranstrom. comIf you would like to support the show you can donate here >Support the show

Sweet friend, in today's episode I'm going to talk to you about why it's so important to start being more mindful & compassionate toward our moment to moment experiences & feelings. In any moment, we have the choice to be critical, distant, unaware of our experience OR compassionate, supportive, and helpful. The more we can start stepping into this second path, the more safe and effective our minds and bodies are, which means we can show up more impactful, present and overall well. I hope you enjoy!
