Christmas at Bay Chapel | December 1, 2024Pastor Wes Morris Advent - Adventus: “arrival” or “an appearing or coming into place.”Romans 4:18-25 (NLT) Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping—believing that he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, “That's how many descendants you will have!” And Abraham's faith did not weaken, even though, at about 100 years of age, he figured his body was as good as dead—and so was Sarah's womb.Abraham never wavered in believing God's promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises. And because of Abraham's faith, God counted him as righteous. And when God counted him as righteous, it wasn't just for Abraham's benefit. It was recorded for our benefit, too, assuring us that God will also count us as righteous if we believe in him, the one who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. He was handed over to die because of our sins, and he was raised to life to make us right with God. ✓ Where you place your hope shapes how you experience joy. Romans 15:13 (NLT) May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.✓ Hope is confident and joyful expectation of what is to come.Romans 12:12 (NLT) Rejoice in our confident hope...Psalm 25:5 (NIV) Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. KEEP HOPING I. REMEMBER THE PROMISES OF GOD. Romans 4:18 (NLT) Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping...Isaiah 43:2 (MSG) “Don't be afraid, I've redeemed you. I've called your name. You're mine. When you're in over your head, I'll be there with you. When you're in rough waters, you will not go down. When you're between a rock and a hard place, it won't be a dead end— Because I am God, your Savior. I paid a huge price for you. That's how much you mean to me! That's how much I love you!” II. FIND STRENGTH IN THE WAITING.Romans 4:20 (NLT) Abraham never wavered in believing God's promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger...If it's not God's time, you can't force it.If it is God's time, you can't stop it. Isaiah 40:31 (NIV) But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. III. PRAISE GOD FOR WHAT IS AHEAD.Romans 4:21 (TLB) Because he was mighty in faith and convinced that God had all the power needed to fulfill his promises, Abraham glorified God!I Peter 1:4-6 (TLB) We live in the hope of eternal life because Christ rose again from the dead. And God, in his mighty power, will make sure that you get there safely to receive it because you are trusting him. So be truly glad! There is wonderful joy ahead, even though the going is rough for a while down here.

This is not something new, this was always the plan of God and we see it right from the beginning of His creative acts. As His crowning creation, He gave us the task of being fruitful and multiplying, of filling the earth and subduing it. Now the question that remains for us is whether we will believe that God created us on purpose for a purpose, and in doing so, will we then engage with our purpose and thus fulfill the purpose and destiny that He has purposed for us and thus in engaging in our destiny find our place in the body of Christ as we seek to fulfill our assignment by bringing God's purposes to bear in the world around us. Matthew 6:10 (NLT) May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven

And I'm determined to teach the world what God has taught and commissioned me to teach and that is His Word.  That commission takes me to jails and detention centers weekly along with other open doors at many churches and ministries that are wanting to teach these important truths to the world. My podcast goes out 6 days a week to help the people I am ministering to grow in the truths that God has taught me for many years now. This podcast is free to all that want to listen and grow strong in who God has made them to be in Christ Jesus their Lord and Savior. Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do. Psalms 1:1-3 NLT   All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 NLT   So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God's holy people. You are members of God's family. Ephesians 2:16 NLT   And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven's Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. Hebrews 10:19 NLT   THE QUESTION IS NOT “AM I GOING TO BE A PART OF A COMMUNITY OF FAITH?” BUT “HOW AM I GOING TO LIVE IN THIS COMMUNITY OF FAITH?”   And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. Hebrews 10:25 NLT   I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord.” Psalms 122:1   1. COMMUNAL WORSHIP IS A WORKABLE STRUCTURE FOR OUR LIFE.   And now here we are, standing inside your gates, O Jerusalem. Psalms 122:2 NLT   Jerusalem is a well-built city; its seamless walls cannot be breached. Psalms 122:3 NLT   Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty (snobbish, high-minded, exclusive), but readily adjust yourself to [people, things] and give yourselves to humble tasks. Never overestimate yourself or be wise in your own conceits. Romans 12:16 AMPC   All the tribes of Israel—the Lord's people—make their pilgrimage here. Psalms 122:4 NLT   2. COMMUNAL WORSHIP NUTURES OUR NEED TO BE IN RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD.   They come to give thanks to the name of the Lord, as the law requires of Israel. Psalms 122:4 NLT   But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. James 3:5 NLT   Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! Philippians 4:4 NLT   "Feelings are important in many areas but completely unreliable in matters of faith" Eugene Peterson   3. COMMUNAL WORSHIP ALLOWS OUR ATTENTION TO BE CENTERED ON GOD'S DIRECTION.   Here stand the thrones where judgment is given, the thrones of the dynasty of David. Psalms 122:5 NLT   Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Philippians 2:1-2 NIV 4. COMMUNAL WORSHIP INFLUENCES OUR WEEK   Pray for peace in Jerusalem. Psalms 122:6 NLT   May all who love this city prosper. Psalms 122:6 NLT   O Jerusalem, may there be peace within your walls and prosperity in your palaces. For the sake of my family and friends, I will say, “May you have peace.” For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek what is best for you, O Jerusalem.  Psalms 122:7-9 NLT

Such arguments are useless, and they can ruin those who hear them. Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth. Avoid worthless, foolish talk that only leads to more godless behavior. This kind of talk spreads like cancer, as in the case of Hymenaeus and Philetus. They have left the path of truth, claiming that the resurrection of the dead has already occurred; in this way, they have turned some people away from the faith.19 But God's truth stands firm like a foundation stone with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and “All who belong to the Lord must turn away from evil.”√  REMEMBERv. 14 Remind everyone about these things...√  REMAIN√  REPENTv. 19 “All who belong to the Lord must turn away from evil.”Acts 2:38 (NLT) And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”A LIFE THAT HONORS GODII Timothy 2:20-21 (NLT) In a wealthy home some utensils are made of gold and silver, and some are made of wood and clay. The expensive utensils are used for special occasions, and the cheap ones are for everyday use. If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work.I. STAY USEFUL. II Timothy 2:22 (NLT) Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts.II. And a small rudder makes a huge ship turn wherever the pilot chooses to go, even though the winds are strong. In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire.√  The tongue is inherently evil.James 3:5-6 (NIV) The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one's life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.√  The tongue is untamable. James 3:7-10 (NLT) People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison. Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it curses those who have been made in the image of God. Cross Transformation- Realize Who You Are

As a consciousness we need to create self-awareness which ego does like. In this video I am talking about creating awareness quoting the Gospel of Matthew and what Jesus says about planting a seed. Awareness is a seed that a farmer sows, we need to choose a good quality soil so that our awareness will lead us to kingdom consciousness. God is within, God is present with us, God is love, and we are in him. “Now listen to the explanation of the parable about the farmer planting seeds: The seed that fell on the footpath represents those who hear the message about the Kingdom and don't understand it. Then the evil one comes and snatches away the seed that was planted in their hearts. The seed on the rocky soil represents those who hear the message and immediately receive it with joy. But since they don't have deep roots, they don't last long. They fall away as soon as they have problems or are persecuted for believing God's word. The seed that fell among the thorns represents those who hear God's word, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life and the lure of wealth, so no fruit is produced. The seed that fell on good soil represents those who truly hear and understand God's word and produce a harvest of thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as had been planted!” (Matthew 13: 18-23; NLT) May you be blessed. God bless you

Dear God I'm Grateful For Instruction.Day #560 - “Commit yourself to instruction; listen carefully to words of knowledge.” - Proverbs‬ ‭23:12‬ ‭NLT‬‬ ‬‬.Instruction is defined as a direction or order or detailed information telling how something should be done, operated, or assembled. The Bible is our instruction guide to living an orderly life that teaches us how to operate in Christ. .“The instructions of the Lord are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are clear, giving insight for living. .Reverence for the Lord is pure, lasting forever. The laws of the Lord are true; each one is fair. They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the comb. They are a warning to your servant, a great reward for those who obey them.” - Psalms‬ ‭19:7-11 NLT.Joyful are those who receive discipline from the Lord and those He teaches with instructions. (Psalms‬ ‭94:12‬ ‭NLT) May the words of our mouth and the meditation of our hearts be pleasing to the Lord, our rock and our redeemer.” (Psalms‬ ‭19: 14‬ ‭NLT)‬‬.#Linkinbio #DearGodImGrateful #IronWifey #DGIG #instruction #order #theBible #faith #gratitudechallenge #Jesus #Ironwifeymagazine #God #ironwifeypodcastnetwork #christianpodcast #podcastersofinstagram #podcast .STAY UP-TO-DATE WITH ALL THINGS IRONWIFEY:Instagram: @deargodimgrateful | @ironwifey_ | @ironwifeymagazineTwitter: @ironwifey_Facebook: IronWifeyIronWifey Magazine & Podcasts: https://www.ironwifeymagazine.comPlease Rate & Review, Like , Comment, & Subscribe!FEATURED MUSIC: Track: SkyHigh — Enine [Audio Library Release]Music provided by Audio Library PlusWatch: https://youtu.be/q-lf6x9cVXwFree Download / Stream: https://alplus.io/skyhigh

Recap Title: God Is For You Key Text: Numbers 6:24-26; Romans 8 The truth is that God is out to bless us, not to curse us. As Jesus said in John 3:17: For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. For sure the Bible does not present a God for whom anything goes. He will not unconditionally bless anyone. In fact, quite the opposite. Romans 1:18: could not be clearer: For the wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and wickedness of men of men, who suppress the truth by their wickedness. That's only part of the story. The whole message of the gospel is that God wants to save you from judgement from sin, death and hell. He wants to give you every opportunity to change and to be blessed. In fact, He is amazingly patient with us and the world. in every situation and experience when you love God and have been called by Him, God is working for your good. In other words, God is totally on your side. This is why the apostle writes in Romans 8:31 which is our text today: If God is for us, who can be against us?  You will receive many blessings (Romans 8:32; Genesis 24:1) You are free from condemnation (Romans 8:1-2, 33-34) You will never be separated from his love (Romans 8:35-39) Apply The Blessing, with more than 41 different versions and in many languages globally, has topped the charts in 34 countries and is in the Top 5 in 77 countries on Apple Christian and Gospel charts. It is based on the great Jewish blessing in Numbers 6:24-26 (NLT): "May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show his favor and give you his peace."  But right at the start let's ask: is it really the case that God is for us and wants to bless us? Well yes actually, this is absolutely true as we can see in both the Old and New testaments. But you may also rightly ask, ‘is not the case that God is AGAINST evil and evildoers?' And yes, that is also quite true. For sure the Bible does not present a God for whom anything goes. He will not unconditionally bless anyone. In fact, quite the opposite. Romans 1:18 could not be clearer: For the wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and wickedness of men of men, who suppress the truth by their wickedness. Ephesians 5:6 says: Let no one deceive you…God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient. James 4:6 says: God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble Proverbs 6:16-19 tells us specifically of 7 things that the Lord actively hates;16 There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: 17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community. Do you imagine that God approves if you lie, scheme, stir up trouble and destroy people because of your pride? Do you think He smiles nicely when people are unfaithful in their marriages, families, churches and business lives? Of course not. 2 Peter 3:9 says: the Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance. Do you hear that? God doesn't want anyone to perish. Ezekiel 33:11 says: Say to them, ‘As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. You will receive many blessings Having asked the question … If God is for us, who can be against us? Paul now adds more unanswerable questions in the following verses. He writes in verse 32: He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? The greatest example of the generosity of God is seen is sending his beloved only son to die for the sins of the world. That's how we understand that God SO loved the world. He gave up what was most precious to Him open the door of blessing to us. But the blessings don't stop at the moment we know we are saved from our sins; actually, this is where they start. That's why Paul asks if God has already given us the greatest gift of all, why would he stop there? Why would He hold back on any lesser or further blessing? Rather He will ‘graciously give us all things.' God's blessings come in many forms: health, strength, happy family life, protection, financial provision, love, joy, peace, conquest over difficulties. And we can know those blessings in real life. As Christians who believe that God is for us, we should never be fatalistic about the problems or pressures we may experience. We should believe that with God as our greatest backer and sponsor, we can experience all kinds of favour from God, like Abraham our father in faith. Abraham had many tests and trials but he always believed God and so we read in Genesis 24:1 as he advanced in years that ‘the Lord had blessed him in every way.' You are free from condemnation  Here Paul poses some more questions and gives the answers! Let's read verses 33-34: 33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Because Jesus has fully paid the price for your sin, you are now justified, which means it's just as if I never sinned. You are no longer like a prisoner in the dock. Someone took your punishment. And that someone is Jesus. You can NOT be tried again for the same crime. You can walk free into a new life. You are no longer condemned so don't live as if you are. As Paul writes at the start of this great chapter in Romans 8:1-2:Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. You will never be separated from his love  Let's read these inspiring verses from verse 35 to 39: 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36 As it is written:“For your sake we face death all day long;we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”[a] 37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[b]neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. We can be more than conquerors in every situation in life because nothing and nobody can separate us from the love of Jesus. We may find ourselves separated from family and friends by different circumstances or even death. We may face great trouble and hardships or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword….

I tell you the truth, you will ask the Father directly, and he will grant your request because you use my name. 24 You haven't done this before. Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy.   Luke 6:22-23 (NLT) What blessings await you when people hate you and exclude you and mock you and curse you as evil because you follow the Son of Man. 23 When that happens, be happy! Yes, leap for joy! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, their ancestors treated the ancient prophets that same way.   1 Peter 3:14 (NLT) But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don't worry or be afraid of their threats.

The Working Of Love Rev. Fitzgerald Odonkor 27th February, 2022   Introduction 2 Thessalonians 3:5 (NLT) May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ.  Amen.   The love of God must be worked out.      How to Work Out the Love of God 1.      Be filled with the fullness of God not just the knowledge (a mental assent) of God. It is impossible to fail when the love of God is at work. If there is anything that does not fail, it is the love of God. Love does not fail.  -        Ephesians 3: 19 -        1 Corinthians 13:8-9   2.      Visitation – Do what Jesus did. Jesus visited Peter. Visit someone who cannot pay you back.  - Acts 2:44-46 -        Romans 16:1-15   Paul visited people. -        Acts 20:18-20   3.      Support the vulnerable -        Luke 10:27-37 -        1 Thessalonians 1:3 -        Luke 15:1-6   4.      Be generous -        Psalm 41:1-3 -        Acts 2:45   5.      Acceptance – be accepting of people and accept them as they are; not as they should be. However, do not leave them as they are.  - John 4:1-24    Worshiping God in spirit and in truth is accepting one another.  -        Zephaniah 3:17   6.      Be committed to Kingdom service -        2 Corinthians 5:14-15,20     Conclusion There is labour in love. Let us be willing to go through the process so we can end up with the product. We must commit to love if we want to see supernatural growth this year.    Read more: The Working Of Love

But Elimelech, the husband of Naomi, died, and she was left with her two sons…and both Mahlon and Chilion died, so that the woman was left without her two sons and her husband. Ruth 1:20-21 (ESV)She said to them, “Do not call me Naomi; call me Mara, for the Almighty has dealt very bitterly with me. I went away full, and the Lord has brought me back empty. Why call me Naomi, when the Lord has testified against me and the Almighty has brought calamity upon me?” Ruth's story:Better than a fairytale— It is real. “We are delusional to imagine that those whose lives are marked by deep tragedy will somehow, someday escape the weight of grief.” -Carolyn Custis James “Sad stories do not always have happy endings, but sad stories can yield new beginnings.” Ruth discovered grief could shape her rather than destroy her. Ruth 4:13-14 (NLT)So Boaz took Ruth into his home, and she became his wife. When he slept with her, the Lord enabled her to become pregnant, and she gave birth to a son. Then the women of the town said to Naomi, “Praise the Lord, who has now provided a redeemer for your family! Ruth 4:14-15 (NLT)May this child be famous in Israel. May he restore your youth and care for you in your old age. For he is the son of your daughter-in-law who loves you and has been better to you than seven sons!” Ruth 4:16-17 (NLT)Naomi took the baby and cuddled him to her breast. And she cared for him as if he were her own. The neighbor women said, “Now at last Naomi has a son again!” And they named him Obed. “The world has a hole in it now. I shall look at the world through tears. Perhaps I shall see things that dry-eyed I could not see.” -Nicholas Wolterstorff “I struggle indeed to go beyond merely owning my grief toward owning it redemptively. But I will not and cannot disown it. I shall remember Eric. Lament is part of life.” -Nicholas Wolterstorff Ruth 4:17-18 (NLT)“Now at last Naomi has a son again!” And they named him Obed. Ruth 2:12 (NLT)May the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge, reward you fully for what you have done.” Ruth 3:1-18 (NLT)One day Naomi said to Ruth, “My daughter, it's time that I found a permanent home for you, so that you will be provided for. Boaz is a close relative of ours, and he's been very kind by letting you gather grain with his young women. Tonight he will be winnowing barley at the threshing floor. Now do as I tell you—take a bath and put on perfume and dress in your nicest clothes. Then go to the threshing floor, but don't let Boaz see you until he has finished eating and drinking. Be sure to notice where he lies down; then go and uncover his feet and lie down there. He will tell you what to do.” “I will do everything you say,” Ruth replied. So she went down to the threshing floor that night and followed the instructions of her mother-in-law. After Boaz had finished eating and drinking and was in good spirits, he lay down at the far end of the pile of grain and went to sleep. Then Ruth came quietly, uncovered his feet, and lay down. Around midnight Boaz suddenly woke up and turned over. He was surprised to find a woman lying at his feet! “Who are you?” he asked. “I am your servant Ruth,” she replied. “Spread the corner of your covering over me, for you are my family redeemer.” “The Lord bless you, my daughter!” Boaz exclaimed. “You are showing even more family loyalty now than you did before, for you have not gone after a younger man, whether rich or poor. Now don't worry about a thing, my daughter. I will do what is necessary, for everyone in town knows you are a virtuous woman. But while it's true that I am one of your family redeemers, there is another man who is more closely related to you than I am. Stay here tonight, and in the morning I will talk to him. If he is willing to redeem you, very well. Let him marry you. But if he is not willing, then as surely as the Lord lives, I will redeem you myself! Now lie down here until morning.” So Ruth lay at Boaz's feet until the morning, but she got up before it was light enough for people to recognize each other. For Boaz had said, “No one must know that a woman was here at the threshing floor.” Then Boaz said to her, “Bring your cloak and spread it out.” He measured six scoops of barley into the cloak and placed it on her back. Then he returned to the town. When Ruth went back to her mother-in-law, Naomi asked, “What happened, my daughter?” Ruth told Naomi everything Boaz had done for her, and she added, “He gave me these six scoops of barley and said, ‘Don't go back to your mother-in-law empty-handed.'” Then Naomi said to her, “Just be patient, my daughter, until we hear what happens. The man won't rest until he has settled things today.” Ruth 3:1 (NLT)One day Naomi said to Ruth, “My daughter, it's time that I found a permanent home for you, so that you will be provided for. Ruth 1:8-13 (NLT)But on the way, Naomi said to her two daughters-in-law, “Go back to your mothers' homes. And may the Lord reward you for your kindness to your husbands and to me. May the Lord bless you with the security of another marriage.” Then she kissed them good-bye, and they all broke down and wept. “No,” they said. “We want to go with you to your people.” But Naomi replied, “Why should you go on with me? Can I still give birth to other sons who could grow up to be your husbands? No, my daughters, return to your parents' homes, for I am too old to marry again. And even if it were possible, and I were to get married tonight and bear sons, then what? Would you wait for them to grow up and refuse to marry someone else? No, of course not, my daughters! Things are far more bitter for me than for you, because the Lord himself has raised his fist against me.” Compare: Ruth 1:8 & Ruth 3:1Ruth 1:8 (NLT) But on the way, Naomi said to her two daughters-in-law, “Go back to your mothers' homes. And may the Lord reward you for your kindness to your husbands and to me.Ruth 3:1 (NLT) One day Naomi said to Ruth, “My daughter, it's time that I found a permanent home for you, so that you will be provided for. God's liberating work is accomplished in and through the lives of godly people… Ruth 3:3 (NLT)Now do as I tell you—take a bath and put on perfume and dress in your nicest clothes. Then go to the threshing floor, but don't let Boaz see you until he has finished eating and drinking. Ruth 3:9 (NLT)“Who are you?” he asked. “I am your servant Ruth,” she replied. “Spread the corner of your covering over me, for you are my family redeemer. Ezekiel 16:8 (NLT)And when I passed by again, I saw that you were old enough for love. So I wrapped my cloak around you to cover your nakedness and declared my marriage vows. I made a covenant with you, says the Sovereign Lord, and you became mine. Ruth 2:12 (NLT)May the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge, reward you fully for what you have done.” God's liberating work is accomplished in and through the lives of godly people; it restores hope and secures the future for others. Sermon Notes - January 30, 2022Choose: Ruth - Chapter 2 - Jon Furman Ruth 2:1 (NLT)Now there was a wealthy and influential man in Bethlehem named Boaz, who was a relative of Naomi's husband, Elimelech. Ruth 2:2 (NLT)One day Ruth the Moabite said to Naomi, “Let me go out into the harvest fields to pick up the stalks of grain left behind by anyone who is kind enough to let me do it.” Naomi replied, “All right, my daughter, go ahead.” Faith moves us to do what we need to do, trusting that God will do what only He can do. Ruth 2:3a (NLT)So Ruth went out to gather grain behind the harvesters. And as it happened, she found herself working in a field that belonged to Boaz… Ruth 2:4-5 (NLT)While she was there, Boaz arrived from Bethlehem and greeted the harvesters. “The Lord be with you!” he said. “The Lord bless you!” the harvesters replied. Then Boaz asked his foreman, “Who is that young woman over there? Who does she belong to?” Ruth 2:6-7 (NLT)And the foreman replied, “She is the young woman from Moab who came back with Naomi. She asked me this morning if she could gather grain behind the harvesters. She has been hard at work ever since, except for a few minutes' rest in the shelter.” Ruth 2:8-9 (NLT)Boaz went over and said to Ruth, “Listen, my daughter. Stay right here with us when you gather grain; don't go to any other fields. Stay right behind the young women working in my field. See which part of the field they are harvesting, and then follow them. I have warned the young men not to treat you roughly. And when you are thirsty, help yourself to the water they have drawn from the well.” Faith sustains us in doing what we ought to do, preparing us for what God is about to do. Ruth 2:10-11 (NLT)Ruth fell at his feet and thanked him warmly. “What have I done to deserve such kindness?” she asked. “I am only a foreigner.” “Yes, I know,” Boaz replied. “But I also know about everything you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband. I have heard how you left your father and mother and your own land to live here among complete strangers. Ruth 2:12 (NLT)May the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge, reward you fully for what you have done.” Faith praises the hand of God for working to do everything that we cannot do. Ruth 2:20 (NLT)“May the Lord bless him!” Naomi told her daughter-in-law… That man is one of our closest relatives, one of our family redeemers.” Choose to Surrender the Big Picture Isaiah 46:10 (NLT)Only I can tell you the future before it even happens. Dear God I'm Grateful For A Promise Of Restoration.“I have suffered much, O Lord; restore my life again as you promised.”‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119:107‬ ‭NLT‬‬.We touched on God's promise of Deliverance yesterday and today our focus of gratitude is his promise of restoration - the action of returning something to a former owner, place, or condition..In Amos‬ ‭9:11-15‬ ‭NLT‬‬, the Lord sends a promise of restoration and says, “In that day I will restore the fallen house of David. I will repair its damaged walls. From the ruins I will rebuild it and restore its former glory. And Israel will possess what is left of Edom and all the nations I have called to be mine.” .The Lord has spoken, and he will do these things. .“The time will come,” says the Lord, “when the grain and grapes will grow faster than they can be harvested. Then the terraced vineyards on the hills of Israel will drip with sweet wine! I will bring my exiled people of Israel back from distant lands, and they will rebuild their ruined cities and live in them again. .They will plant vineyards and gardens; they will eat their crops and drink their wine. I will firmly plant them there in their own land. They will never again be uprooted from the land I have given them,” says the Lord your God.”‭.“Restore us, O Lord, and bring us back to you again! Give us back the joys we once had!” (Lamentations‬ 5:21‬ ‭NLT‬‬) May the Lord's promises stand true on earth as it is in Heaven. ...#Linkinbio #DearGodImGrateful #IronWifey #DGIG #restoration  #JesusChrist #gratitude #grateful #blessed #faith #grateful #gratitude #gratitudechallenge #Jesus #Ironwifeymagazine #God #ironwifeypodcastnetwork #christianpodcast #podcastersofinstagram #podcast .STAY UP-TO-DATE WITH ALL THINGS IRONWIFEY:Instagram: @deargodimgrateful | @ironwifey_ | @ironwifeymagazineTwitter: @ironwifey_Facebook: IronWifeyIronWifey Magazine & Podcasts: https://www.ironwifeymagazine.com.Please Rate & Review, Like , Comment, & Subscribe!.FEATURED MUSIC: Track: SkyHigh — Enine [Audio Library Release]Music provided by Audio Library PlusWatch: https://youtu.be/q-lf6x9cVXwFree Download / Stream: https://alplus.io/skyhigh

How Leaders Find Favour In The FalloutNumber 1:1-5 MSGGod spoke to Moses in the Wilderness of Sinai at the Tent of Meeting on the first day of the second month in the second year after they had left Egypt. He said, “Number the congregation of the People of Israel by clans and families, writing down the names of every male. You and Aaron are to register, company by company, every man who is twenty years and older who is able to fight in the army. Pick one man from each tribe who is head of his family to help you.Numbers begins by taking a count of the people of Israel… positioning them into their family groups and then assigning them responsibilities so as to maintain the health, the order and the spiritual condition of the nation. After all of this order was established….at the end of Numbers 6 we read the priestly blessing of Aaron. Number 6:24-26 NLT‘May the Lord bless youand protect you.25May the Lord smile on youand be gracious to you.26May the Lord show you his favourand give you his peace.'It is absolutely critical in this season of re-gathering that we are aware of WHO is with us, where they fit into the life of the church, how and where they can lead and this will release blessing over the whole church. This season has been coined, in church circles as The Great Return, but in step with that we are also experiencing the Great Realisation…..While we are seeing the church return to face to face gatherings we are also realising that many WILL NOT return as we thought they would OR they will return as very very different people. In a post crisis church, whether it is a church split, the sudden exit of pastors and leadership, financial mismanagement, moral failing …. OR a global pandemic ravaged church…..We must do what Moses and Aaron did:Focus on the team who are WITH you!Don't live in discouragement, because those people who are still in your teams after crisis are ALL IN, they are looking for: - Inspiration, to be engaged, to be on mission, discipled, encouraged and led and celebrated!Turn the remaining crowd into the core. The church will still have people connected who my not be ALL IN, but are looking for their next step….they are with us because God has moved heaven and earth to bring them to us….Those looking for a faith community are more than ever ready to be ALL IN!….so let's keep helping people take their next steps on their journey with Jesus…..Embrace the inevitability of the work ahead.Part of the intentionality behind the organisation of the tribes of Israel, the laws, cultural expectations, and ceremonial liturgy, was the fact that Moses and Aaron were staring down the barrel of a 40 year ordeal through the wilderness. Despite this CRISIS, despite the LOSS and the DELAY of their dreams, they got on with…. They organised the troops and got moving….Things look different o what they looked like in November 2019….but we will build again, and the church will prevail….and I want to be on the winning team, so I am ALL IN! I want to receive that priestly blessing:Number 6:24-26 NLT‘May the Lord bless youand protect you.25May the Lord smile on youand be gracious to you.26May the Lord show you his favourand give you his peace.'Connect with us today: https://beyondchurch.org.au/connectWould you read the Bible plan, God's Dream For Your Life, with us?https://bible.com/p/46758456/281f1e89950c60fc60b41e0a15672fc1Make a Financial Contribution: https://beyondchurch.org.au/online-givingLet us know you're saying YES to Jesus today: https://beyondchurch.org.au/yes-to-jesusWe would love to pray with you: https://beyondchurch.org.au/prayer Take your next step with Beyond Church: Take a next step: https://beyondchurch.org.au/next-stepsSubscribe to our youtube channel here - http://tiny.cc/BeyondYouTubeSubscribe to our Podcast here - https://beyondchurch.org.au/podcastFollow us on facebook here:Cessnock - https://www.facebook.com/Beyond.Church.CessnockScone - https://www.facebook.com/beyond.church.sconeToronto - https://www.facebook.com/Beyond.Church.TorontoOnline - https://www.facebook.com/beyond.church.online

Dear God I'm Grateful For The Lord's Approval.“Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth. .Avoid worthless, foolish talk that only leads to more godless behavior. This kind of talk spreads like cancer, as in the case of Hymenaeus and Philetus. They have left the path of truth, claiming that the resurrection of the dead has already occurred; in this way, they have turned some people away from the faith. But God's truth stands firm like a foundation stone with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and “All who belong to the Lord must turn away from evil.” .In a wealthy home some utensils are made of gold and silver, and some are made of wood and clay. The expensive utensils are used for special occasions, and the cheap ones are for everyday use. If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work. .Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead, pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. Enjoy the companionship of those who call on the Lord with pure hearts. Again I say, don't get involved in foolish, ignorant arguments that only start fights. A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people. .Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people's hearts, and they will learn the truth. Then they will come to their senses and escape from the devil's trap. For they have been held captive by him to do whatever he wants.” - ‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭2:15-26‬ ‭NLT‬‬.Obviously, I'm not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ's servant. (Galatians‬ ‭1:10‬ ‭NLT‬‬) May the Lord our God show us his approval and make our efforts successful. In Podcast Episode 83, “Prayer of Blessing: Unleashing Unlimited Power,” Kim discusses the unlimited power of God which is released when humble, willing hearts pray for others. Boaz, a godly man of integrity, has chosen to fulfill his role as a kinsman-redeemer for Ruth and Naomi. This paints a picture of our own kinsman-redeemer, Jesus Christ. When Boaz publicly proclaims his commitment to redeem Ruth, the witnesses pray a prayer of blessing over them both. However, little did they know how God would answer their prayers for this couple and their offspring far beyond anything they could have imagined. For whom do you need to pray and unleash the unlimited power of God?   The primary scripture text for this episode is Ruth 4:1-12, with focal verses of 11-12:   11 Then the elders and all the people standing in the gate replied, “We are witnesses! Discipleship series #4 A disciple responds positively to testing. (The character test.) By Pastor George Lehman James 1:12 “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.” Genesis 22:1-2 “Sometime later God tested Abraham. He said to him, “Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied. 2 Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.” Deuteronomy 8:2 Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands.” I hope I shall possess firmness and virtue [goodness, uprightness, moral excellence] enough to maintain what I consider the most desirable of all titles – the character of an honest man. George Washington Character means the combination of qualities or features that distinguishes one person from another. What do you think that distinguishing mark in a disciple’s life should be? Colossians 3:10 (Amp) - And have clothed yourselves with the new [spiritual self], which is [ever in the process of being] renewed and remolded into [fuller and more perfect knowledge upon] knowledge after the image (the likeness) of Him Who created it. God is serious about our growth Why a character test?  Christians are to be good news before they share the good news. Most people won’t come right out and say it, but you’d better believe they’re thinking it - they’re not interested in committing their lives to Jesus Christ unless they observe attractive, qualities and consistent patterns of living in a Christian life that they know. Living a double standard life will never draw anyone to Jesus 2 Peter 1:5 (Msg) - So don’t loose a minute [i.e. use every second] in building on what you’ve been given, complementing* your basic faith with good CHARACTER, spiritual understanding. *To spend a long time thinking about your action We have taken off the old way of living, thinking, and acting... Have you? Here’s the reason why God gives us ‘the character test’: Ephesians 4:24 (Msg) - And working itself into your conduct as God accurately reproduces* His character in you. *To produce a copy of something Romans 8:29 “God pre-destined us to conform to the likeness of His Son.” God is redoing His original plan in us! How sad is this: The universe seems bankrupt as soon as we begin to discuss the character of individual lives. So many Christians are bankrupt of Character Luke 8:13 “Those on the rocky ground are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away Nothing is so fatal to character as compromising of principles. 1 Corinthians 15:33 (NIV) - Do not be mislead, “bad company corrupts good character”. Check who you mostly hang around with it will tell you where you’re headed. Men of genius are admired Men of wealth are envied Men of power are feared BUT ONLY MEN OF CHARACTER are TRUSTED and FOLLOWED and RESPECTED Definition:  In the character test, a disciple is surrounded by ungodliness, compromise and shortcuts that attempt to pull them in its direction.  These may tempt the disciple to sin in various ways to weaken their character. In order to develop a disciple with strong, godly character qualities – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, self-control, faithfulness. God puts His disciples in fiery places so they may learn to stand strong in Him. Job 23:10 “But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold”. You cannot dream yourself into a character – you must hammer and forge yourself into one. It takes sacrifice, dedication, commitment and focus Good character is more to be praised than outstanding talent. Most talents are to some extent a gift. Good character, by contrast, is not given to us.  We have to build it piece by piece – by thought, choice, courage and determination. The potential to fail and mess up is strong and very real. Purpose:  The character test shows to the disciples the areas of weakness in their own personality, in what they stand for. Character is like the foundation of a house – it’s below the surface. When God allows a situation into a disciple’s life which requires patience, resistance to temptation and steadfastness you realise you must call on more of God’s grace. Usually an area of need surfaces where you must allow God to work. Every disciple has hidden character deficiencies (Blind spots) of which he is totally unaware until confronted with a character test that will call for a Godly response. This will expose your own true inward self.  “The true you.” Self control (character) doesn’t vanish overnight. It slips away little by little under the constant pressure of an unguarded lifestyle. Interestingly this erosion of self control (character) is most likely to happen in those areas where you think you are strongest and feel most confident and secure. (Happens many times in older Christians) You can’t go on old energy and anointing. All of a sudden God exposes your true character to you – just when you thought you were on top of things. Romans 5:4 (Amp) - And endurance (fortitude) develops maturity of character (approved faith and tried integrity) and character (of this sort) produces (the habit of) joyful and confident hope of eternal salvation. Isaiah 59:19 says – when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of God will raise up a STANDARD against him. Where on earth do you think the Standard will be raised if not in the life of a child of God. Character is the standard which destroys the enemy. When Character arrives on the scene the enemy will flee in many different directions How is your character? This is not a trick question which demands an honest answer The true disciple will watch over himself when he is alone.  He examines his heart that there may be nothing wrong and that he may have no cause of dissatisfaction with himself. Psalm 25:21 (NLT) - May integrity and honesty protect me, for I put my hope in you. How protected are you by your Honesty and integrity Action, looks, words, steps – form the alphabet by which you may spell CHARACTER. For those of you that have been serving the Lord for a number of years, remember, the higher the character the more you should regard your smaller actions. Character is made by many acts.  It may be lost by a single action. The favour and blessing and prosperity and provision of God rest upon the disciple of character. Isn’t it amazing – God will allow a ‘character test’ to develop character in us and then He goes out of His way to bless that character? God doesn’t want to hurt us but He knows what’s good for us. Psalm 84:11 (Amp) - For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows (present) grace and favour and (future) glory (honour, splendour and heavenly bliss)!  No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. How have you been responding to tests, hardships, difficulties, tough situations. If you’re not happy with your actions, speech and behavior Repent and ask God to change you. Psalm 26:2 “Test me, O Lord and try me, examine my heart and my mind…” -o0o-

But forget all that—it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. - Isaiah 43:18-19 NLT --- May you dream new dreams again - brave and bold dreams offered to our good and faithful Father.

Pat's View: Inspirational stories

Download Podcast I’ve heard countless conversations, books, messages and declarations that address the question..."Am I Worthy?"  Can I ask you a personal question? Is the question "Am I Worthy?" one that rattles around in your head? And, just so I understand your answer, is the questions asking "Are you worthy to be loved?" or  "Are worthy to be accepted?" I want to come back to that question later, but first I want to ask you a critical question, "Do you know who you are?" Maybe you’re answering, “Of course, I’m…" and you fill in the blank with your name or a title that everyone knows you by…           but that doesn’t tell me who you are. Most of us answer that question internally very differently than we would answer someone asking it. Who are you? Some people answer this defining question by naming a failure or limitation...  I am a: disappointment to my mom and dad.  loser.  wreck.  stupid idiot. orphan. poor person. divorcee. criminal.” Or, some people label themselves with a sickness that defines them: I am a cripple. I am a diabetic. None of those things define you, nor should they. Please don’t let them keep you from being and doing what God called you to do. Can I use a joke to explain? A lady stopped in the pet store to buy her cat its favorite treat. She strolled past the row of bird cages on her way to the cat treats. As she passed a cage that housed a beautiful green and yellow parrot, it squawked “Ugly lady! Ugly lady!” at her. She was annoyed and complained to the management. The management punished the bird and promised the lady it wouldn’t happen again. In her frustration she forgot to buy the cat treats so, she had to go back that afternoon after work. When she passed the cage, the bird squawked “Ugly Lady! Ugly Lady!” The lady was really mad and demanded that the management do something immediately. Again, the management apologized and punished the bird even more sternly.  The woman left in a huff. When she passed the store on the way to her work the next day, the parrot was in its cage outside the shop door. The bird said, “Hey lady!” She paused, and said, “Yes?”  The bird squawked, “You know!” And we do know, because the truth is... inside all of us a timid little voice...that we hardly recognize... whispers…Yes I know. I know the real me. And because we think we know, we look in the mirror and we tell ourselves things that would make us very angry if someone else said anything close to what we are telling ourselves. The scary thing is, sometimes, we don’t even realize it!  What you believe about yourself is vitally important. You can believe a lie or you can believe the truth. The truth is what God says about you. Congruent Your inner self-talk needs to be congruent with what God says about you. Not bigger. Not smaller. Simply line up with or conform and match what God says.    The first thing God says... He made you in His image. You are loved. You are priceless. So valuable that He sent His Son into the World to bring you into His family. He wants to share Himself with you! There’s nothing you can do that will make Him stop loving you. But there are things that you can do and believe that will keep you from being and living as a child of God. Believing the truth about you begins with believing the truth about Him. Believing the truth about you isn’t automatic. It won’t happen unless you renew your mind. Only YOU can do that. That’s why it is so very important for you to take your thoughts and heart to the cross on a regular basis. Repent of sin. Embrace forgiveness. Reshape your inner self-talk by discovering what God says about you? Look at John 1:12 NIV ‘Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—  God says if you have received Jesus and believed in His name you are a child of God.  Is that what you say about yourself? Do you still struggle with that thought? Are you waiting until you are perfect to step into all that being His child means? If you have been born into God’s family, you are a child of God. That is your identity. Live out of your identity as a child of God. When Jesus was baptized by John in the Jordan River; God declared right out loud from heaven that this was His Son (Matthew 3:17). In the very next verse (Matthew 4:1) it says that Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. After Jesus fasted for forty days and nights, the tempter said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread." Basically, he was daring Jesus to prove that He was God’s Son.  The deceiver is still doing that; "Are you really God’s child? Prove it? You’re not good enough, special enough or worthy. You don’t know the Bible well enough.” Listening to the enemies lies creates doubt and robs you of confidence. Jesus didn’t defend Himself and demand His rights. He knew who He was. Instead of flooding your mind with excuses and explanations of why you “aren't” good enough to be God’s child, do what Jesus did. He spoke God’s Word. He didn’t need to argue because He had kingdom authority and so do you. Let me answer the question I started with, “Are you worthy?” Do you deserve God’s grace and love? Can you earn it by being good, or pretty, or smart or whatever you dictate the price must be paid to earn it and keep on earning it?  No. You can’t earn it. And you don’t need to either. Ephesians 2:8, 9 NIV is very clear that we don’t become God’s child because we deserve it. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast.” My children didn’t have to do anything to earn my love. I loved them before I ever saw them. Wayne and I planned for them and  wanted them. The instant I saw them I discovered a new meaning for love. Did they deserve it? What a ridiculous thought, they were my children and loving them was one of the greatest joys of my life. If a person earns something, they have to continue to do what they did to continue to be worthy. Stop trying to earn your place with your worthiness and simply receive His love. 1 John 3:1a NIV See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! … Yes! Because you answered yes to God’s invitation to become His child, you have nothing to prove and everything to gain by walking in His love and His overcoming power. That doesn’t mean you can live in rebellion against God. But, it means you will grow. And, as you grow you will become more and more like Jesus. Ephesians 3:19 NLT May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Who am I? I humbly and gratefully respond I am: a child of God. forgiven. blessed. valuable. loved. wise. the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. healed whole able to do all things through Christ who strengthens me! And the truth is...I believe it! Now it’s your turn… let me ask you again… Who are you?

(Matthew 5:41) (NLT) “If a soldier demands that you carry his gear for a mile, carry it two miles.”   (Matthew 5:43-44) “You're familiar with the old written law, 'Love your friend,' and its unwritten companion, 'Hate your enemy.' I'm challenging that. I'm telling you to love your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst. When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the energies of prayer, for then you are working out of your true selves, your God-created selves. This is what God does. He gives his best—the sun to warm and the rain to nourish—to everyone, regardless: the good and bad, the nice and nasty. If all you do is love the lovable, do you expect a bonus? Anybody can do that. If you simply say hello to those who greet you, do you expect a medal? Any run-of-the-mill sinner does that.”  (Ephesians 4:2-3 MSG) “And mark that you do this with humility and discipline—not in fits and starts, but steadily, pouring yourselves out for each other in acts of love, alert at noticing differences and quick at mending fences.”
