Dies ist der zweite Teil des Gesprächs. Wenn ihr den ersten Teil noch nicht gehört habt, fangt am besten dort an! Die im Jahr 2010 gegründete Berliner Rockband Kadavar veröffentlicht am 16. Mai ihr siebtes Album „I Just Want to Be a Sound“.
On this week's show, we welcome back our good friend and Charlotte Magazine back page columnist Jen Tota-McGivney to talk about her new book, Finding Your Walden: How to Strive Less, Simplify More & Embrace What Matters Most. All this & much, much less! Debts No Honest Man Can Pay is a podcast that thinks it's a radio show...because it used to be one. The show started in 2003 at WHFR-FM (Dearborn, MI), moved to WGWG-FM (Boiling Springs, NC) in 2006 & Plaza Midwood Community Radio (Charlotte, NC) in 2012, with a brief pit-stop at WLFM-FM (Appleton, WI) in 2004. It phoenixed into a podcast in 2020, thanks to the fine and fabulously furious folks at NRM Streamcast.
My guest in this week's Book Club podcast is Geoff Dyer, who's talking about his memoir Homework, in which he describes growing up as an only child in suburban Cheltenham, and how the eleven-plus and the postwar settlement irrevocably changed his life – propelling him away from the timid and unfulfilled world of his working-class parents. Geoff, in this new book, bids fair to be the Proust of Airfix models and prog rock.

A (relatively) in-depth analysis of English rock band Soft Machine in under thirty minutes.Soft Machine's music can be categorised into various genres and subgenres, including progressive rock, experimental rock, jazz rock, jazz, proto-prog, psychedelic rock and art rock. The band are part of the Canterbury scene of progressive rockAlthough they achieved little commercial success, critics consider Soft Machine to have been influential in rock music. The band's name originates from William S. Burroughs's novel The Soft Machine. As of 2025, the current lineup consists of John Etheridge, Theo Travis, Fred Thelonious Baker and Asaf Sirkis.Co-founding member Mike Ratledge died in February 2025. In March 2025 Soft Machine embarked on a 8-date UK tour which concluded at The Vortex Jazz Club, London. The current incarnation of the band also toured throughout Europe in May 2025.In this episode I am in discussion with Dr. Andrew Webber.Mathew Woodallhttps://www.facebook.com/share/1F15mx4ea3/https://buymeacoffee.com/lownoiseWhy buy me a coffee?Low Noise is proudly ad-free. This week, we received our annual audit visit from corporate! That's right, The Chairman not only graced us with his presence, but he demanded we deliver to you this episode: “Grave Mistake: BÖC Shoulda Been Huge!!!”. One could argue that selling 24M albums would negate “Shoulda Been Huge” treatment. However, when most folks can only name 3 songs by this band, and one of them is due to an SNL skit, we think they fit the bill. This episode is rooted in our Should Have Been category; however, there is a strong case to be made that they've been largely forgotten as innovators and architects of what we know as heavy metal. We think they should be remembered as titans of hard rock and metal! Hope ya dig!Songs this week include:Blue Öyster Cult - “Transmaniacon MC” from Blue Öyster Cult(1972)Blue Öyster Cult - “The Red & The Black” from Tyranny And Mutation (1973)Blue Öyster Cult - “Flaming Telepaths” from Secret Treaties (1974)Blue Öyster Cult - “Tenderloin” from Agents Of Fortune (1976)Blue Öyster Cult - “R.U. Send us a textGet Ready To Groove: Why Brass Camel Is The Band You Need To Know About Right Now!#newmusic #progrock #progfunk #camel #newalbum After successfully criss-crossing Canada three times on the strength of a word-of-mouth reputation and a hard-earned live following, Vancouver-based Brass Camel return with their second full-length record: Camel. Clocking in at 40 minutes across just six tracks, the album is an unapologetic artistic statement from a band whose sound resists easy classification—equal parts progressive rock ambition and deep-pocket groove, with no shortage of swagger, surprises, and soul.Their self-styled “prog-funk” sound may raise eyebrows on paper, but as multiple Grammy-winner Fantastic Negrito put it: “They sound like a funky Rush.” Or, as Big Sugar frontman Gordie Johnson (who also guests on the record as the group's Zappa-tinged “cat whisperer”) once declared, “Brass Camel…man, they're good worldwide.”Following their 2022 debut Brass, the band doubled down—both on the road and in the studio. Camel is the result of that momentum: two 11-minute bookends, four shapeshifting shorter tracks, and zero interest in playing it safe.Website: https://www.brasscamel.ca/epkInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/brasscamelFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/brassycamelApplemusic: https://music.apple.com/ca/artist/brass-camel/1629161926Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/59HNn8uI1RIbWzmPUy5pFm?si=54e041a98f934c34&nd=1&dlsi=aa86680918574875Bandcamp: https://brasscamelband.bandcamp.com/Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@UCx1fnIXz40ZxIBAWmmjXtjg TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@UCx1fnIXz40ZxIBAWmmjXtjg Thanks for tuning in, please be sure to click that subscribe button and give this a thumbs up!!Email: thevibesbroadcast@gmail.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/listen_to_the_vibes_/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thevibesbroadcastnetworkLinktree: https://linktr.ee/the_vibes_broadcastTikTok: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMeuTVRv2/Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheVibesBrdcstTruth: https://truthsocial.com/@KoyoteFor all our social media and other links, go to: Linktree: https://linktr.ee/the_vibes_broadcastPlease subscribe, like, and share!

EPISODE 127: Francis Dunnery defies easy categorization. His work reflects a deep commitment to personal freedom and individuality. While his style is often playfully philosophical, he's also capable of crafting achingly profound, beautiful music. Dunnery first gained public recognition in the 1980s as the lead vocalist and guitarist of the progressive rock band It Bites, achieving chart success across Europe and Asia. Since then, he has embarked on a diverse musical journey spanning over three decades, collaborating with renowned artists such as Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin), Carlos Santana, Chris Difford (Squeeze), Ian Brown (The Stone Roses), Lauryn Hill, and Steve Hackett (Genesis). He has also performed with legendary bands like Yes and Hootie and the Blowfish, and shared the stage with the iconic Chris Squire. Beyond these collaborations, Dunnery is a celebrated rock icon in his own right, having released over ten albums of original and diverse compositions, achieving international chart success. He is also the founder and president of The Charlie and Kathleen Dunnery Children's Fund (CKDCF), a charity dedicated to children's health and wellness in West Cumbria, England. The CKDCF hosts an annual benefit concert and charity walk, attracting support from some of the biggest names in rock and roll history. Dunnery is more than just a musician. He's an educator, a master songwriter, a mentor, and a storyteller. As Robert Plant once observed, “Francis Dunnery should be a public service.” For over four decades, he has consistently created original and engaging entertainment for his fans, from new CDs and live concerts to astrology readings and house concerts. Today, more than ever, Dunnery remains dedicated to his own personal freedom and individuality, and encourages the same in his audience. He continues his music and philosophical studies and plans to live a long and fulfilling life.Contact us: makingsoundpodcast.comFollow on Instagram: @makingsoundpodcastFollow on Threads: @jannkloseJoin our Facebook GroupPlease support the show with a donation, thank you for listening!

Under the Raging Sun captures both the intensity and beauty of the band's Siberian roots while pushing their musical boundaries even further. The album has crafted a sonic landscape that's both haunting and triumphant, blending elements of progressive rock, and post-rock with their signature style. Taking inspiration from the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota, the band draws a symbolic connection between the isolation and resilience of the reservation and their roots in Siberia. Both regions are known for their vast, rugged landscapes and the deep history of survival and adaptation—a perfect metaphor for the spirit that defines PINE RIDGE's music.Founded in 2014 by Vasiliy Pischukhin, PINE RIDGE has carved out their distinct place in the global rock scene. Their debut album From Somewhere, to Nowhere... (2016), released by Berlin-based Nasoni Records, set the stage for their international journey, with a limited vinyl edition of only 300 copies that quickly sold out. Their follow-up album, Can't Deny (2020), released via Italy's Karma Conspiracy Records, has only solidified their status in the underground rock world.I would love to get your thoughts on their music and see if you might be interested in an interview with the band's founder and lead singer Vasiliy PischukhinBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.

Their follow-up album, Can't Deny (2020), released via Italy's Karma Conspiracy Records, has only solidified their status in the underground rock world.I would love to get your thoughts on their music and see if you might be interested in an interview with the band's founder and lead singer Vasiliy PischukhinBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-unplugged-totally-uncut--994165/support.

On this week's show, we cellebrate the therapeutic nature of out-of-town rock shows with old friends, let there be rock with Drive-By Truckers, wake up to albums we slept on by Tuxedo and Chuck Prophet, and and spin fresh tracks from Parlor Greens, Waxahatchee & The Waterboys. All this & much, much less! Debts No Honest Man Can Pay is over 2 rock-solid hours of musical eclectica & other noodle stories.
This week we continue our journey to the Great White North! This is the triumphant finale of our celebration of an amazing power trio from Toronto that has been largely forgotten in the pantheon of rock n' roll: TRIUMPH! From classic hard rock & metal to proggy AOR, this is a band that rarely gets the praise they deserve! This episode is rooted in our Should Have Been category. This is a band that Captain Content has mentioned before as a band he would love to dive into deeper. While not the most obscure band we've ever covered (they have multiple platinum and gold albums in the US and Canada), they have been largely forgotten as the rock giants they once were. We think they should be remembered as titans or rock and thus: Huge-er-er!!! Eh?Songs this week include:Triumph - “Time Goes By” from Thunder Seven (1984)Triumph - “When The Lights Go Down” from Stages (1985)Triumph - “Mind Games” from Stages (1985)Triumph - “Play With Fire” from The Sport Of Kings (1986)Triumph - “Carry On The Flame” from Surveillance (1987)Triumph - “Edge Of Excess” from Edge Of Excess (1992)Triumph - “I Live For The Weekend” from Live At Sweden Rock Festival (2008)Please subscribe everywhere that you listen to podcasts!Visit us: https://inobscuria.com/https://www.facebook.com/InObscuriahttps://twitter.com/inobscuriahttps://www.instagram.com/inobscuria/Buy cool stuff with our logo on it!: https://www.redbubble.com/people/InObscuria?asc=uCheck out Robert's amazing fire sculptures and metal workings here: http://flamewerx.com/If you'd like to check out Kevin's band THE SWEAR, take a listen on all streaming services or pick up a digital copy of their latest release here: https://theswear.bandcamp.com/If you want to hear Robert and Kevin's band from the late 90s – early 00s BIG JACK PNEUMATIC, check it out here: https://bigjackpnuematic.bandcamp.com/
This week we took it to the people, and the people agreed! Not just the people; we got the ok from The Chairman, Mighty K, and the entire 51st state of Canada!
