Cung Le is a Vietnamese-born American actor, retired mixed martial artist, Sanshou fighter and kickboxer who fought in the UFC. He is a former International Kickboxing Federation Light Heavyweight World Champion, having a professional kickboxing record of 17–0 before moving to mixed martial arts. Le is perhaps best known in mixed martial arts for competing in Strikeforce, holding a record of 7–1 with the organization before its demise. He was a stand-up fighter who utilized his Sanshou background to pressure his opponents with unorthodox strikes. He was perhaps best known for his use of the spinning back kick and spinning backfist, which he used in multiple fights. Le has appeared in several films and TV shows, including Walker, Texas Ranger, Tekken, NCIS Los Angeles, Hawaii Five-O, and The Ultimate Fighter: China.

Those who know me and know this channel, are familiar with my love for martial arts. I have been training for the past 10 years and during this period, I have exposed myself to various systems. I have also witness debates about what martial arts represent and unfortunately, the true essence of martial arts, which is beyond (but does include) fighting is rarely discussed. So I decided to speak to the man who is the source of my knowledge - Shifu Kanishka Sharma. Most of you know him as the first Indian to be trained at and authorized officially as a representative of the Shaolin Temple in India as well as the official mentor of the Special Forces in India. He is also the official representative of Progressive Fighting Systems and Contemporary Jeet Kune Do under Sifu Paul Vunak. He has trained and mastered 14 different martial art systems, including but not limited to, Shaolin Kung Fu (and Sanshou), Wing Chun, Muay Thai, Jeet Kune Do (Under Sifu Sitta Wang as well as Sifu Vunak), Muay Chaiya, Pekiti Tirsia Kali, Balintawak and Tai Chi. I speak to him about what the purpose of martial arts truly is, the perception that Shaolin monks (and traditional martial artists) can't fight, and why no one really talks about the healing aspect of martial arts. The Drunken Boxing Podcast #014 Today's guest is Tim Cartmell who is a well-known pioneer within the Chinese martial arts most notably within the styles of Xingyi Quan, Bagua Zhang and Taiji Quan. He started with Kung Fu San Soo at a young age and moved to Taiwan at the age of 23 to pursue further studies in the Chinese martial arts and he studied with people like Xu Hongji and Luo Dexiu. He also traveled to mainland China to study these arts and spent time with Sun Jianyun, Liang Kequan, Mao Mingchun and others. During his time in Taiwan he competed numerous times in Sanshou full contact matches and attained numerous first places. Tim returned to the USA in 1994 and soon after he started studying Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and achieved a black belt in the art. The former Sanshou and Strikeforce champion parted ways with the UFC in 2014 following a myriad of soured business dealings with the company and Le quickly made his complaints public. Being one of the original dissenting voices in the MMA world, Cung Le, as with many others, believes that the only way for MMA athletes to be properly compensated is through the Ali Act. Cung gives us his perspective on the kind of change the sport needs for the betterment of all the athletes while ensuring a positive future for the next generation. We’ll also hear the inside scoop on what led to Cung Le’s UFC departure and just how manipulative he believes the worlds most dominant MMA promotion is with its athletes. Sunny Singh is a three-time taekwondo champion turned international action movie star. (Anónimo).???? ¡Muy buenos días a todo el mundo, soy Nacho Serapio Director y Fundador de Dragonz, y te doy la bienvenida a un nuevo episodio de Dragonz Magazine, TU PROGRAMA, de artes marciales y deportes de contacto. Hoy es jueves 10 de enero de 2019 y vamos por el programa número 429!! Y como todos los jueves… ¡nos toca hablar de MMA! Bueno, en esta ocasión, no son MMA exactamente, pero se le acerca mucho, me estoy refiriendo al Sanda, la modalidad de combate del Kungfu. Muchos sabéis que es una disciplina que practico, pero quizás no sabéis muy bien que es… así que el programa de hoy se lo vamos a dedicar a esta bella modalidad deportiva. El combate Sanda está basado en la investigación, la creación, el aglutinamiento y estandarización de las técnicas marciales aplicadas al combate deportivo. Su traducción real sería; Combate libre, una definición un tanto errónea, ya que este tipo de lucha está regida por unas normas estrictas desde su creación. Estaríamos hablando de la lucha cuerpo a cuerpo enfatizada en la competición, todo esto deriva de los estilos tradicionales de lucha de las diferentes escuelas de Wushu Chino. Su lucha se desarrolla en una plataforma elevada como la que salía en los dibujos de “Bola de Dragón” llamada “Lei-Tai”, uno de los rasgos que aún se mantienen de los enfrentamientos de la antigüedad. Y se basa en cuatro conceptos básicos: “DA” el uso del golpeo de puño o mano. “TI” el uso de la pierna, patear o barrer. “SHUAI” el uso de los asimientos, proyecciones y derribos. “NA” apresar o agarrar. Detrás de todas estas técnicas, hay un trabajo de base en las Artes Marciales, para el perfeccionamiento de las técnicas en aplicación al combate. Para nosotros su definición exacta sería; como el deporte de contacto del Wushu; desplazándolo a la zona más profesional de la lucha. En ella se busca la neutralización del contrincante de varias maneras; Expulsándolo de la plataforma mediante golpeo o derribo. Con los diferentes asimientos, agarres o proyecciones. Con el golpeo de pie y mano, llegando a buscar el “K.O” Como en la mayoría de los deportes de contacto, sus emparejamientos se hacen mediante la obtención del peso de los contrincantes. Siempre uniformados por dos colores; principalmente rojo y negro. En Sanda podemos diferenciar tres grados diferentes de competición creados en la República Popular China. -Sanda Deportivo -Sanda Profesional -King of Sanda o Sanda Wang.
