Mr Anslow began his martial arts journey around 1986 (whilst still at high school), dabbling in arts such as Shaolin Kung Fu, Wing Chun and even Ninjitsu. At college he studied both Judo and Fencing, before finally settling on Ch'ang Hon (ITF) Taekwon-do in early 1991 at Wembley Taekwon-Do School, under the instructorship of Master David Bryan (then a 5th degree) and Mr John Pepper, 2nd degree. During his formative years in Taekwon-do, he also got the opportunity to study some Jiu-Jitsu as well as training along side his friend (Dave Arnold), a Shotokan black belt, for many years. He graded to black belt in Taekwon-do in early 1994 under the B.U.T.F. and gained his 2nd degree in 1996. In 1999 he founded Rayners Lane Taekwon-do Academy, which ran in the same location until 2007, when the hall was demolished and we move into the newly built dojang (training hall), just a few hundred years away, continuing to run there ever since. In 2000 he graded to 3rd degree under Master Juan Mahai of the KTA (Korean Taekwondo Association), as well as winning a gold and silver medal at the AIMAA World Championships. In 2002, along with a couple of friends in the USA & Canada he founded IAOMAS (International Alliance of Martial Art Schools), which continues to flourish under the guidence of Mr Colin Wee, to this day. Stuart Anslow - Chief Instructor In 2003 he was inducted into Combat magazines 'Hall of Fame' & in 2004 he graded to 4th degree whilst in the USA, as well as 7 of his students becoming World Champions (2 as double world gold medallists) at the 2nd AIMAA World Championships. In 2005 he started writting his first book (Ch'ang Hon Taekwon-do Hae Sul, Vol. 1), which was released in 2006 to critical acclaim to Taekwon-Do students around the world. Also in 2005, he went from part-time instructor, to full-time instructor, establishing Harrow Martial Arts. Having written for and been interviewed in many martial arts magazines over the years, in early 2009 he started his own magazine; Totally Tae Kwon Do magazine, a global Tae Kwon Do magazine loved by all that read it, which he editted and ran free for 40 issues and is still going strong today. In 2010 he graded to 5th degree (along side fellow instructor Mr Vikram Gautam who was grading for 3rd degree) under legendary Taekwon-do pioneering Master, Willie Lim, 8th degree. Also in 2010 he released a further 3 books (The Encylopedia of Taekwon-Do Patterns, Vols. 1, 2 & 3), all of which were received extremely well and became top sellers Also in 2010 Mr Anslow was awarded a citation from Dr. Chungwon Choue, (then) President of the WTF (World Taekwondo Federation), South Korea, recognizing his 'outstanding contribution to the development of Taekwondo'. In 2012 he released the second volume of Ch'ang Hon Taekwon-do Hae Sul, which so many had been waiting for. Again, it was very well recieved. In 2013 he released his sixth book, From Creation To Unification, which is adored by many due to its in-depth historical contents regarding Taekwon-Do, in 2015 his first book (Ch'ang Hon Taekwon-do Hae Sul, Vol. 1) was released as a Spanish version as well and in 2017 he released his 7th book, 'Ch'ang Hon Taekwon-Do Hosinsul' which was a detailed look at the self-defence aspect of Taekwon-Do (known as Hosinsul). In 2022, as well as his daughter gaining her 1st Degree black belt, he graded for 6th Degree, under Master Hay Harris, 7th Degree (Himself a Master promoted by Grandmaster Willie Lim, 9th Dan) Over the years he has taught numerous seminars (both home and abroad) on the applications of Taekwon-do's patterns (as well as other aspects of the art, such as knife and gun defence) and in 2015 he travelled to South Korea with one of his senior students, where he not only got to experience the fantastic culture of Korea and many historically relevant places, but also taught Taekwon-do in the homeland of the art, over the course of 10 days. And he returned in 2018, with another of his students, Matthew Baxter. Mr Anslow has 4 lovely children and continues to run the Academy. To him, Taekwon-Do is not a hobby or a part-time job, its not even a full-time job; it his his career that he devotes his life to, both developing excellent students, whilst continuing to promote and develop that art he loves.

Matt candidly discusses the essence of Kung Fu as a lifelong journey of dedication, the misconceptions surrounding the Western portrayal of Shaolin culture, and his decision to avoid traditional titles like "Shifu," instead focusing on the joy of pure discipline and passion. Matt reflects on his time in Shaolin, the transformational experiences of performing on international stages, and the challenges of being a non-Chinese practitioner in the world of Shaolin Kung Fu. He also shares how Kung Fu, to him, encompasses everything from physical mastery to creative expression and how his temple in London embodies the dream he once envisioned. As Matt explains, it's not about seeking recognition but living authentically and inspiring others to discover their own paths to greatness.

In this episode, I have the joy of interviewing Dr. Tamara Russell about how to practice and train mindfulness in movement. Dr. Russell is not only a neuroscientist and mindfulness researcher, but a clinical psychologist, and a martial artist with a black belt in Shaolin Kung Fu. She brings all of these perspectives to her mission of making mindfulness practices more accessible for more people, so that we can reclaim our attention, focus more on what really matters to us, and move our world forward in a positive direction. You'll hear about: working with movements of the body, movements of thoughts, and the movements of our emotions her progression from the “hard styles” of martial arts like Kung Fu to the internal martial arts like Tai Chi and Qigong how introducing mindfulness practices through movement can sometimes be a more trauma-informed alternative to sitting meditation the 4 stage neurocognitive model of mindfulness that Dr. Russell developed the key role of intention if our goal is to cultivate mindfulness through a movement practice. We also talked about why learning mindfulness through movement can be a particularly effective method for people with busy minds, kinesthetic learners, and for those who identify as neurodivergent. And, we discussed the benefits of mindful movement for experienced meditators who wish to bring the wisdom of sitting practice more fully into the complexities of daily life. Dr. Russell even offers a short guided practice during the conversation to illustrate the difference between being mindfully aware of the body vs. thinking about or visualizing the body. Do be sure to check this episode's podcast page on the website at movedtomeditate.yoga/podcast to find the resources from this conversation. Was ist seit 1983 passiert? The Shaolin monks of the legendary monastery in China are famous for their skills in Kung Fu. However, Shaolin Kung Fu isn't just a martial art but a specific way of life and conduct that can be applied effectively in any professional or personal context. The real secret of the Shaolin monks' success isn't their physical abilities. Rather it is their way of thinking that makes them invincible. Business mentor Bernhard Moestl, who learned from the Shaolin monks and is today an instructor reveals for the first time the Shaolin principle of ‘mind power'. Highlander Returns With A New Sword Experience#highlander #sword #swordexperience #adrianpaul #actor Many call Adrian Paul a sword expert, based on his lead role as Duncan Macleod in the action series Highlander. The show spanned 6 seasons, 117 episodes and ran in over 90 countries worldwide. with Adrian performing hundreds of action and sword fights during that time. But Adrian knows it takes many years to become a swordmaster and dismisses this title saying we all have “sword experts” inside us, if are willing to work hard to achieve it.Having studied Hung Gar and Shaolin Kung Fu for over 25 years, (Kung meaning skillful work, hard training) this philosophy is apparent throughout numerous action films, including two Highlander films, performing and choreographing sword fights and action sequences for both television and film, during an entertainment career that has spanned 35 years. Adrian has also directed and produced projects for both television and film, hosted a radio for charity with over 600 hours of airtime, along with founding his own charity The PEACE Fund (Protect, Educate, Aid Children Everywhere).Website: https://swordxp.com/Website: http://adrianpaul.net/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/adrianpaulofficialFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/adrianpaulofficial/Twitter: https://twitter.com/adrianpaul1Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/swordexperience/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/SwordExperienceTwitter: https://twitter.com/swordexperienceSpotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/1nTycgT2MMkvw2VpDDw3oKYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCeGXDD5DR-SVGSTQJMBR2XgLinktree: https://linktr.ee/theswordexperienceThanks for tuning in, please be sure to click that subscribe button and give this a thumbs up!!Email: thevibesbroadcast@gmail.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/listen_to_the_vibes_/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thevibesbroadcastnetworkLinktree: https://linktr.ee/the_vibes_broadcastTikTok: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMeuTVRv2/Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheVibesBrdcstTruth: https://truthsocial.com/@KoyoteTwo Chicks Talkin Flicks Podcasttwo chicks talking about their favorite movies and moreListen on: Apple Podcasts SpotifyFor all our social media and other links, go to: Linktree: https://linktr.ee/the_vibes_broadcastPlease subscribe, like, and share!

In this episode we discuss the 1975, highly stylized (and highly fictionalized) biographical martial arts film, 'Shorinji Kempo' aka 'The Killing Machine!'- the story of Doshin So, the founder and creator of the Japanese hybrid martial arts system Shorinji Kempo. We go into a deep analysis of my own experiences training in the art, the history of the system with its roots in both jujitsu and Shaolin Kung Fu, as well as an examination of the technical aspects of the film. Enjoy!
In which the four wise men from the mountain come down to discuss the film, _Shaolin Kung Fu_ for the beleaguered people. Released in 1974, the film stars Chiang-Lung Wen, Hung Yi, Ping Lu, and many others. It was filmed in Taiwan, produced by Hong Kwa International Films. It was directed by Joseph Kuo.
