Is it really a franchise if there isn't at least one in 3D? Alas, join Sam and Liz as they talk about Saw: The Final Chapter aka Saw 3D which brought us weird sub plots, an incredible amount of abandoned warehouses, man child Detective Hoffman's weird grudge and lastly, a jigsaw trap in full public display. Welcome back to EXTRAVAGANSAW! This week, we are joined by Ghouls Night Out Trivia as we enter another dimension of terror with Saw: The Final Chapter/ SAW 3D! We cover all the bases from Chester Bennington to some more sexy Hoffman!
Finally, we've reached the end of the road, the final chapter, the – wait, aren't there 3 more movies after this? Jordan and Stefan watch Saw 3D (or possible Saw: The Final Chapter) and reflect on the long, twisty, flashback- and trap-filled journey to get here. What does it all mean? Have we been rehabilitated yet? Let's find out.
Christian and Elle refuse to pull out any of their teeth. At the end of each Overkill episode we answer the question- are we still in on this franchise or is it overkill? We continue our series by reviewing SAW 3D. We dig into the world building, the return of Dr. Gordon, and wrapping up storylines for some main characters. We also discuss waffles, wet dreams, and our preferred Saw trap wardrobe. We'd love to hear your thoughts, questions, or any requests you have. You can contact us at: feedback@itsonlyapodcast.com and on your social media of choice.

This week we are back with a not so final chapter of Saw 3D. We are here to find out how the story of John Kramer, Amanda, and John's large adult son Detective Hoffman wraps up once and for all. We enter the 3rd Dimension to do so and we get even more of cops being stupid the movie, more gore, and the first public display of Jigsaw's talents with one of the most ludicrous and over the top traps the franchise has ever gifted us. We also discuss the Intriguing premise of John punishing someone for lying about being in one of his traps while lamenting with the fact that this great idea wasn't presented all that well. all this in so much more with perhaps the most over the top in goofiest entry of the franchise to date with special guest Sarah Stubbs from Final Girls Feast and Geeks Who Eat. Minor spoilers for SAW X between 1:40:30 & 1:43:39 where Mike asks a question that literally breaks Ari's brain in real time. Check out Ariel's article “The Hypocrisy of Jigsaw” here
A silly episode for a silly movie. Good silly! We had a lot of fun with this Extremely Goofy Movie that attempts to wrap up the series with a slightly more heightened style than your average Saw (which is really saying something). Kevin Greutert is back and thank god Twisted Pictures forced him into it. Jigsaw/Hoffman/Dr. Cary Elwes take their revenge on cheaters, racists, liars, and, of course, the haters and the losers. Guts are spilled, saws are thrown into the audience 3D-style, flashback Jigsaw wears a backwards hat signalling his relative youth... what a picture. This wraps up the one-a-year Sawmill approach to the franchise... next week is the 2017 release Jigsaw which is more of a spinoff as far as I understand. This is the end... or is it... just the beginning of the first part of the end?
Welcome to The Rad Wrap: a new series on series, where Kylie and Elliott explore films with a common thread. In this inaugural episode, they cover the most movies they've covered in an episode by watching all ten feature Saw films in nine days. This Rad Wrap contains spoilers. Along the way, they lose their minds and begin to question what cinema even is anymore when they think about the term "torture porn," appreciate the attempts at social justice, and muse on the idea of punishment. They go through ups and downs as they follow Jigsaw in some of their favourite horror films ever made and miss him terribly in, unfortunately, one of the worst films they've ever seen, all culminating in seeing a Saw film in the theatre again for the first time in over a decade. Join Kylie and Elliott, as they fall further in love with Adam and Gordon; fist pump for Jigsaw and Billy the Puppet; struggle with Amanda and Hoffman; and feel their hearts burst with love for horror films. The films in the series are: Saw (2004), Saw II (2005), Saw III (2006), Saw IV (2007), Saw V (2008), Saw VI (2009), Saw: The Final Chapter (2010), Jigsaw (2017), Spiral (2021), and Saw X (2023).For even more original Saw love, revisit our spoiler-free conversation in episode 61 of our regular series.Conversations:Saw - 3:10Saw II - 26:50Saw III - 39:28Saw IV - 53:49Saw V - 1:02:41Saw VI - 1:09:32Saw: The Final Chapter - 1:19:27Jigsaw - 1:34:03Sprial - 1:44:22Saw X - 1:54:38Dads - 2:11:36Takeaways - 2:21:46Follow along onInstagram: @baddad.raddadLetterboxd: kylieburton Letterboxd: ElliottKuss Hosted on Acast. We're back with an action-packed, double/triple guested, too long episode! Thank you for joining us for the sixth part in the epic ten-part anime series, Saw. Saw VI is easily among the best in the series and we all loved it. Longtime editor of the Saw films Kevin Greutert takes over directing duties for the first time and does a superlative job. We have perhaps the best victims yet and some of the most well-constructed traps of the series. What a huge improvement!Saw series regulars Katherine and Devin join us again to dive deep into the viscera of insurance companies and the American healthcare system. Jigsaw Jesse is here too, laughing in the background.I hope you've all been enjoying this series, it's flying by for us! Join us next week for Saw 3D which is actually Saw 7 and also perhaps subtitled Saw: The Final Chapter. Are any of these titles accurate? Join us to find out.Follows us on Twitter/X @TheFranchisees, please rate and review on Apple or Spotify or wherever you can!

Another year has passed & we are back with another round of The GraveTalk Podcast's Worst In Show competition. Four weeks. Four of the worst rated films in horror franchises. Four better or worse, we are doing this. To start this years competition off we bring you Saw: The Final Chapter. Let's just say if someone asks if you want to play a game that involves dismemberment or sit down & watch this horror flick.... take your time & really consider how missing a few body parts probably is less painful.

Would you have guessed it? Saw: The Final Chapter was by no means a final chapter of anything. Just 7 years after that release, Jigsaw came out in 2017 and is the first and only film in the Saw Franchise that we see directed by the Spierig brothers. This film, starring Matt Passmore, Tobin Bell, Callum Keith Rennie, and Hannah Emily Anderson, is an attempt to close up some loose ends that were created with Saw: The Final Chapter, which was released in 2010. Join us as we discuss how this film scratched the itch that we had been experiencing since the last release we got to experience. You can check out new episodes every Friday on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. Please rate and review when you have the time to!
Despite the fact that we did not get to watch this film in 3D as it was intended, we still had many moments that left an impression on us! Saw: The Final Chapter was released on October 29th, 2010 and is the second film that was directed by Kevin Greutert in the franchise. Being the third and final film written by Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan in the series, the team wraps up the intricate story of Detective Hoffman and what his role was in the story of Jigsaw. Join us as we discuss and contemplate the concept of the notorious Jigsaw apprentice.

A toy puppet appears out of the shadows and a voice seems to echo from it: “I want to play a game. In the Blu-Ray player before you sits the Saw Collection(™), encompassing the Saw franchise from Saw I to Saw: The Final Chapter. Watch every film in the series before Spiral: From the Book of Saw comes out on May 14th and you might just discover a way out of that bathroom. Otherwise, your location will remain a secret, your bodies will never be recovered nor will anyone hear you scream as you die a slow, oxygen-less death, and this bathroom will become your tomb. Careful: there is more to the series than what you have been given. The answer lies at the beginning and the end. Live or die, gentlemen. Make your choice.”
