The Sunday Triple M NRL Catch Up - Paul Kent, Gorden Tallis, Ryan Girdler, Anthony Maroon
Danny Weidler, Adam Pengilly and Charlie White are all back for a big episode of Triple M NRL's The Journos! St George Illawarra Dragons cannot avoid the spotlight as potential superstar front-rower Loko Pasifiki Tonga has grown tired of not getting picked by coach Shane Flanagan. Danny spoke to Flanno before the podcast to shed more light on the situation. But Shane's job continues to be thrown into growing doubt as the pressure intensifies week by week. And we also question why a club who is in desperate need for a halfback didn't enter the race for many players who were available? Players who were flourishing last season and have been now, currently. We get the full story on what happened between Gorden Tallis and the Brisbane Broncos spin doctor as the feud between the former legend and the club continues to grow. Matt Burton wants to stay as a Bulldog but even as both camps have started talks, an agreement is far from done. Will there be a salary cap squeeze in Belmore? Will Jahream Bula stay at the Wests Tigers? The club is in fine form but his agent is Isaac Moses and he has a big history with the club's coach Benji Marshall! Tune in for everything above and more! But also if you're able to have a look, here's the fundraiser for Jacek McLaurin who sadly suffered a spinal cord injury from playing footy. If you wish to donate all the information is here: GoFundMe Check out Triple M NRL's Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Understand the three specs that matter most when buying wedges Learn how to build a wedge setup that fits your game and home course Discover simple drills to improve contact, spin, and distance control Know when to use high bounce vs. low bounce Stop guessing yardages and start scoring inside 100 yards Ball Position Tip Hold the club with your normal, relaxed grip and make a few small, natural swings back and forth — nothing forced, just brushing the grass. Notice where the club consistently strikes the ground. That spot is your true low point, and that's where the ball should go. Wedge Fitting Tip If you're going to get your wedges fitted, work with a brand‑agnostic fitter — someone who isn't tied to a single manufacturer. That way, you're choosing the wedge that fits your swing, not the one they're obligated to sell. And make sure the fitting happens on real grass, not a mat. Mats hide fat shots, change bounce interaction, and give you a totally false sense of how the club performs. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. In this episode, I'm joined by Dr Tom Lonsdale - veterinary surgeon, long-time advocate for raw meaty bones, and author of the new book, Spin Doctors. This conversation invites us to step back from the noise, the labels, and the often polarised debates around dog food—and instead, to look more closely at the foundations those conversations are built upon.Because this isn't about kibble versus raw. It's about understanding the animal in front of us… and the systems that have shaped how we care for them.We explore what it means to feed a dog in alignment with their biology as a facultative carnivore, and how modern feeding practices compare to that reality. From feeding trials and the origins of “balanced and complete,” to the rise of ultra-processed diets, and the growing conversation around vegan dog food, BARF, Prey Model Raw, etc—this episode gently but courageously questions the narratives many of us have inherited. We also speak about trust, how it is formed and outsources - and what it might look like to begin reclaiming it—not through fear or perfectionism, but through curiosity, observation, and discernment. At its heart, this conversation is not just about food. It's about power, conditioning, and the quiet invitation to see more clearly.A question to sit with:What assumptions have I made about how to feed my dog—and where did they come from?If this episode resonated:Share it with a fellow dog mama who's been quietly questioning what's in the bowl. And if you feel called, leave a review - it helps more people find these conversations.Learn more about Dr Tom Lonsdale and his books:https://www.thepetfoodcon.com/https://www.facebook.com/thepetfoodconConnect with me!Website: https://mysticdogmama.comInstagram: https://instagram.com/mysticdogmamaCome join my free Facebook group, First Light. Danny Weidler & Adam Pengilly are back for another episode of Triple M NRL's The Journos! Led by Charlie White the boys sink their teeth into more drama in Brisbane! Ben Te'o, assistant coach shockingly exited the club after alleged issues with his superior Michael Maguire. Though, Danny Weidler reveals exactly what went down after his chats with the Broncos and disputes the information that's been revealed so far. The drama in Brisbane though hasn't overshadowed Daly Cherry-Evans return to Brookvale Oval, but there are more storylines ahead of Sydney Roosters trip to Manly Sea Eagles. A premiership contender is fading, a head coach is under the pump, there is drama engulfing both the Eastern and Northern Beaches! And another headache for the Roosters is from their noisy neighbours South Sydney Rabbitohs who can now officially call Sydney Football Stadium home! And the St George Illawarra Dragons are under the pump as they still sit winless to start the season. An interesting theory is floated that may become a reality for the Saints. Leur premier album Pocket Full of Kryptonite, sorti en 1991, rencontre un énorme succès, notamment grâce à "Two Princes" et "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong", largement diffusé sur MTV. Ils reviennent notamment avec "If the River Was Whiskey", puis plus récemment "Face Full of Cake", renouant avec leurs influences funk-rock. Send in your music story!A glam-flash falsetto, a roundhouse kick, and a gut-punch truth about making art in a feed-driven world—this conversation with Adam from The Pseudo Cowboys is a ride. We open on the band's signature blend of theater and grit: 80s-tinted vocals, Prince-like swagger, and riffs that feel built for sweat and stage lights. From the arena-sized squeal of The Hero Song to the sly innuendo of Cosplay Rock, Adam shows how to keep rock fun without losing the craft, and why a wink can make a chorus hit harder. Then we wade into deeper waters. Weekly Existential Crisis looks at comparison spirals, doomscrolling, and what happens when algorithms rewire our sense of self. Adam balances darkness with play—serious themes wrapped in hooks that stick. We swap stories about the post-pandemic scene flip, the surge of young guitar bands, and how a night out can still end at Waffle House with a melody ringing in your ears. His love for video-making turns songs into mini-worlds: Vacation Sex is both comedy gold and married-with-kids realness, while The Hero Song channels action-movie myths with high kicks and higher notes.Under the glitter, there's a working philosophy of modern success: real relationships over fame, Patreon over platform roulette, and local scenes over faceless curation. Adam is candid about home-studio access, the glut of releases, and why community must become the new quality control. He's clear on AI, too—useful as a tool, hollow as a storyteller—and argues for protecting the human spark that unites strangers when a chorus lands just right. We close with dream collabs (Justin Hawkins, Billy Corgan), road stories with Marcy Playground and Spin Doctors, and a chaotic “song or euphemism” game that somehow ties it all together. If you love high-energy rock with brains, jokes, and heart, you'll feel right at home here. What a way to end Season 11 ... we have one of my biggest influences period... Mr. Chris Barron from the Spin Doctors!! Chris ands his band completely changed my life in the early 90s and set me on the path I am still walking to this day. His gift for melody, clever lyrics and hooks taught me everything I needed to know as a young songwriter in middle school - and to this day he continues to wow me with his choice of words and top line melodies. We're gonna spend this time together, chatting about their new record "Face Full of Cake" and about his approach to songwriting throughout his career. You do NOT want to miss this one! The '90s were a strange time. From Gregorian chants to swing bands, you never knew what would make it onto the radio. But some of the strangest groups to improbably infiltrate the mainstream came from the post-Grateful Dead jam band scene. Our guest today is Mike Ayers, author of Sharing in the Groove: The Untold Story of the '90s Jam Band Explosion and the Scene that Followed. The book, an oral history, is really a blast. It covers all the big players of the era: Phish, Blues Traveler, Spin Doctors, Widespread Panic, Dave Matthews Band, but Ayers takes it to the next level by expanding the definition of "jam band" to include Medeski, Martin and Wood, Greyboy and the acid jazz scene, New Orleans funk band Galactic, and John Zorn and the Knitting Factory downtown NYC scene, and much more. This episode, guest host (and Transmissions audio editor) Andrew Horton, Jason P. Woodbury, and Ayers sit down to hash out the era in which even Sonic Youth and Yo La Tengo embraced their jammiest free improv tendencies. What are the limits of the whole "jam band" thing really? Come along with us as we dig into Sharing in the Groove. Transmissions is created in partnership with the Talkhouse Podcast Network. We're brought to you by Aquarium Drunkard, an independent music media crew headed by Justin Gage. Over at Aquarium Drunkard, you'll gain access to 20 years of music writing, playlist, essays, mixtapes, radio special, podcasts, videos and more.

The crossover this time was so much better. We think that the 2 writing staffs must have actually collaborated! BTW: we love The Pretender.
On this episode we're hanging with the man who's responsible for the low end of one of my all time inspirations … Spin Doctors! Jack Daley is an absolute amazing addition to the band imo. On their new record “Face Full of Cake” his playing is profound and supportive of each song - while simultaneously staying true to the whimsical, satirical and hook laden music we know and love from the Spin Doctors! I can't wait to hear his story and I know you'll dig this conversation too! Design by @thierry_lecuyer Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Today on the show I talk with - Jack Daley. In addition to his role as a musician, Jack also owns and works as a producer at his 'Dug Deep Production' studio facility in New Jersey. Which again, has had a very impressive list of clients since it's opening in 2017.We talk about auditions, relocation for musicians, musician mindsets, being prepared and life on the road...For more information on Jack or his studio, please visit - www.jackdaley.comAs usual, thanks for checking out the channel and if you're getting anything useful from my content, please feel free to comment, like, share and subscribe, thank you. Rock Docs is back after a lengthy hiatus — we've been saving up our discussion of the artist behind the second-worst-selling album in the history of Columbia Records, and the jam band world he helped pioneer. Today's episode is about "Basically Frightened: The Musical Madness of Colonel Bruce Hampton," a 2012 documentary about the avant-garde artist behind the Aquarium Rescue Unit. Our guest this week, author Mike Ayers, is the author of the excellent new oral history, "Sharing in the Groove: The Untold Story of the '90s Jam Band Explosion and the Scene that Followed." You're about to learn a whole lot more about Kevin Bacon. The prolific actor has been on our screens for more than 40 years. It was his breakthrough part as Ren in Footloose that got him attention, but he was just getting started. Acclaimed roles in Apollo 13, A Few Good Men, The River Wild, and Mystic River would follow. In fact his filmography and range is so broad he literally had a game made up about him – Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon – where you could connect any Hollywood actor to him in six or less steps, he's worked with that many stars. But bubbling away in the background, Kevin has always loved music. He played and wrote songs as a kid, joined his brother's band and formed The Bacon Brothers in '95, and shares his love of songs on the regular, across his social media. It was this thread I wanted to pull at, when I asked him to Take 5. But what emerged was a greater sense of the man himself. Deeply empathetic, very grounded, and with his heart in all the right places.Kevin Bacon's song choices:Earth, Wind & Fire – 'Happy Feelin'Spin Doctors – 'Little Miss Can't Be Wrong'John Prine & Iris DeMent – 'In Spite of Ourselves'Frank Ocean – 'Thinkin Bout You'Brandi Carlile – 'The Joke'00:00 Introduction to Kevin Bacon's Musical Journey01:00 Kevin Bacon's Love for Music02:19 Kevin Bacon's Acting and Music Synergy04:11 SONG 1: Earth, Wind & Fire – 'Happy Feelin'05:59 The Influence of Philadelphia's Music Scene09:59 Kevin Bacon's Acting Aspirations and Early Career14:38 SONG 2: Spin Doctors – 'Little Miss Can't Be Wrong'18:02 The Bacon Brothers and Overcoming Stage Fright22:53 SONG 3: John Prine & Iris DeMent – 'In Spite of Ourselves'23:28 Marriage to Kyra Sedgwick and singing together30:32 SONG 4: Frank Ocean – 'Thinkin Bout You'35:21 Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon and Philanthropy39:51 SONG 5: Brandi Carlile – 'The Joke'44:28 Kevin Bacon's Musical Journey45:57 Upcoming Episodes and Podcast Details46:29 Double J Radio HighlightsWatch Take 5 on ABC iview:https://iview.abc.net.au/show/take-5-with-zan-rowe

Jo sits down with Ron Filipkowski, MeidasTouch's editor-in-chief, ex-prosecutor, and the guy whose X feed you check before your first coffee. The two dive straight into the Texas caper: Democratic lawmakers making a midnight dash out of the state—more Springsteen than C-SPAN—to stop the GOP's latest attempt to gerrymander themselves a permanent majority. With the chaos playing out under the relentless August sun, Jo and Ron unpack why power grabs, broken maps, and viral misinformation aren't some Beltway sideshow, they're the main event and the stakes are everybody's future. Ron litigates the headlines, calls out the media hacks, and tears into the cynical math of a system built to silence voters. Subscribe and Follow Jo:https://linktr.ee/jojofromjerz Hosted on Acast.
