Dr King stated that the law of Karma allows for a time evil to exist for a certain length, but evolution has to continue and eventually no matter how powerful any ruler is it will fall. There is a continual energy war occurring behind the scenes on the other realms between the forces of darkness and the forces of light. THE TWELVE BLESSINGS It is in these days that all of us are being called to send out the power of love as a white transmuting light into the darkness and raise the vibrations of Earth. ILY All!Today I'm honored to introduce you all to: Spiritual, sexual and religious abuse survivor, educator, writer and author, podcast host and podcaster, Masters Level University Instructor, Licensed Professional Counselor, seminar teacher, conference speaker, clinical supervisor, writer, trauma recovery specialist, published author, trained life coach, private practice owner who works with her own clients, and an absolute inspiration: Connie BakerConnie's was born into a family with conscientious parents that loved, supported, and cared about her. From the outside looking in, they looked like a typical ‘normal' family, but lurking beneath the surface, there was a dark side that was hidden from plain sight. Her parents were rigid, strict, authoritarian, and very harsh with Connie's discipline, and there was a demand for absolute compliance that Connie learned immediately as a young child to survive. She was supported by her parents as long as she was being good and the code word for her family was ‘responsibility'. These strict standards led to Connie became a very compliant and high-achieving child and adolescent back in the late 60s and 70s. She was raised in a country church in Southern Oregon that was full of unassuming, good-hearted people - and the church naturally reinforced all of the family themes that Connie had been conditioned to unconsciously accept at home. The theology and the culture of the church went along to strengthen the rigid, unbending demand for the same particular behavior patterns of perfection, compliance, obedience and responsibility her parents had always expected of her.The church Connie was attending during that time also happened to be pastored by someone who - three years earlier - had publicly confessed to having molested his own foster daughter. And when Connie was 16, this very pastor caught her alone on four different occasions and kissed her on the lips. Connie was silent about this violation for years - she knew the story of his foster daughter and knew no one would take her story seriously. What is Disability Justice? - Disability & Philanthropy Forum (disabilityphilanthropy.org) There are many articles online that address the intersection of disability and faith. Because I am not anxious to endorse any of them without time to read and consider them carefully, I can only encourage you to explore how the church, and most especially the Evangelical and Pentecostal churches, view and treat disability. My personal experience was an emphasis on praying the disability away; which will be familiar to anyone who has ever attended a faith healing service. This puts a tremendous burden of shame on any disabled person who appears to lack the necessary faith to receive Gods healing. Shame is the predominant theme of most of the churches I encountered between 1984 and 2015. I'd like to say I just had really bad luck with churches(and this may be true on a grand scale) but at least one of these churches was a very well regarded mega church in Colorado Springs.
