Queste storie, però, nessuno dei presenti le ha potute sentire, perché un gruppo di ragazzi ha deciso che non avevano diritto di essere raccontate. Con una contestazione iniziata nel momento esatto in cui era stata invitata a parlare Soemia Sibillo, direttrice del Centro di aiuto alla vita della Mangiagalli, alcuni studenti del collettivo «Cambiare rotta» hanno fatto irruzione nell'aula, a suon di tamburelli, grida e bestemmie. Diversi loro amici si trovavano seduti tra i banchi e avevano assistito al primo intervento in scaletta, quello di Costanza Raimondi, assegnista di ricerca in bioetica alla Cattolica di Milano. Primo e unico dell'intero convegno, perché non c'è stato modo alcuno di proseguire.«Mi avevano appena passato la parola - commenta Soemia Sibillo -, quando si sente picchiare forte alla porta dell'aula. Alcuni giovani sono entrati gridando slogan e bestemmie, con il chiaro intento di boicottare l'incontro, che era stato organizzato da loro coetanei della lista "Obiettivo Studenti". Il più esagitato a un certo punto ha preso una bottiglietta dal tavolo dei relatori e l'ha rovesciata in testa a uno degli organizzatori. L'acqua è andata a finire anche sui cavi dell'impianto audio video, si sono spente le luci e il proiettore ha smesso di funzionare. Io avrei dovuto far vedere ai presenti la testimonianza di una mamma che ha accettato di portare avanti la gravidanza nonostante avessero diagnosticato al suo bambino una grave malformazione cardiaca, suggerendole l'aborto terapeutico. Ma non è stato possibile».Nel video mai proiettato in aula, una giovane di nome Lourdes racconta la sua storia. Il giorno dell'ecografia morfologica, assieme al suo futuro marito Henry scopre che il piccolo che aspettano ha il cuore sinistro ipoplasico. I medici prospettano loro l'interruzione della gravidanza e descrivono le tre operazioni, una più rischiosa dell'altra, a cui si sarebbe dovuto sottoporre il bimbo se fosse riuscito a nascere, per sperare di sopravvivere.«Quando sono arrivati da noi, la futura mamma era in lacrime, ma è stata l'unica volta che l'ho vista piangere - racconta la direttrice del Cav Mangiagalli -. Fatta la scelta di tenere il bambino, Lourdes ha dimostrato a tutti un coraggio e una forza incredibili, che non sono venuti meno nemmeno nei lunghi mesi in cui il suo bimbo è stato ricoverato in terapia intensiva al Niguarda, dove è nato e ha subito numerosi interventi a cuore aperto».Il Cav ha sostenuto la giovane coppia, che viveva in una stanza condivisa con altre persone, procurando un alloggio dove affrontare con maggior serenità questa gravidanza. Subito dopo il parto, i neo genitori sono stati accolti in un altro appartamento, in zona Niguarda, per facilitarli nel loro andare e venire dall'ospedale dove Liev Logan ha lottato per vivere, vincendo la sua battaglia perché ora sta bene.«Sarebbe stato impossibile affrontare tutto ciò da soli», afferma Lourdes nell'intervista video. «I nostri genitori sono lontani, in Perù. Ospiti Soemia Sibillo, direttrice del Centro Aiuto alla Vita Mangiagalli, Chiara Locatelli, neonatologa del Policlinico Sant'Orsola di Bologna, specialista in cure palliative perinatali e Costanza Raimondi, ricercatrice in bioetica alla Cattolica.Dopo l'irruzione dei collettivi ci sono stati disordini, spintoni, cori e persino bestemmie, minacce ai relatori e lancio d'acqua contro gli organizzatori, mentre le luci e i microfoni sono stati staccati.Inutile dire che da parte della galassia della sinistra non è arrivata alcuna solidarietà, mentre ad esprimere la propria vicinanza alle vittime, oltre a condannare i fatti, sono stati alcuni esponenti milanesi di Fratelli d'Italia e Lega mentre Pro Vita & Famiglia, che proprio l'altro giorno ha dovuto fare i conti con l'ennesimo assedio ai danni della sua sede romana, ha espresso parole di biasimo.Il motivo di questo silenzio da parte dei cosiddetti "democratici" è da ricercare in una precisa strategia che la Sinistra sta portando avanti per criminalizzare il dissenso e che la segreteria di Elly Schlein sta amplificando nei toni della lotta. E con essa la Cgil che proprio ieri con il segretario Maurizio Landini, nel lanciare lo sciopero generale previsto per oggi ha ribadito che «occorre alzare il tiro», mentre non più tardi di un mese fa aveva chiamato a raccolta per una «rivolta sociale».Per capire il contesto in cui Pd e Cgil sono responsabili moralmente di questo raid fascista dal quale si guardano bene dal prendere le distanze, bisogna andare a vedere chi sono i responsabili dell'assalto di via Celoria, sede della Statale dove si teneva il convegno pro-life.A stroncare l'incontro dopo pochi minuti dall'inizio e a rivendicarlo successivamente sono stati diversi movimenti studenteschi di sinistra. Nell'ordine: Udu, Studenti Indipendenti, Cambiare Rotta e Rebelot oltre che alcuni attivisti, che hanno occupato un immobile nella zona di Città Studi.Si tratta di collettivi che si presentano regolarmente alle elezioni studentesche che portano avanti azioni di rivolta e che nel loro programma hanno tutto l'armamentario tipico della Sinistra radicale e che sono letteralmente sostenuti dal sindacato rosso di Landini e dai Dem di Elly Schlein.Su tutti, per importanza, diffusione negli atenei e organizzazione capillare svetta l'Udu, l'Unione degli Universitari che si definisce nel suo sito «una confederazione di associazioni studentesche presente in 35 atenei italiani. All'Unione degli Universitari aderiscono ogni anno migliaia di ragazzi e ragazze attorno ad un modello organizzativo inedito in Italia: il sindacalismo studentesco».Non si tratta di una mission casuale. Il collettivo che ha assaltato i pro-life a convegno agisce come un sindacato e come un sindacato rivendica le proprie azioni di lotta. Ora, non è un caso che se il principale sindacato della Sinistra unita, la Cgil, abbia alzato lo scontro fino ad aizzare alla rivolta sociale, anche l'Udu si sente autorizzata ad agire di conseguenza e i temi dell'aborto sono assolutamente centrali in questa strategia di lotta.L'Udu, infatti, è assolutamente contiguo alla Cgil. Sono loro stessi a scriverlo sul loro sito: «Abbiamo un patto di lavoro con la Rete degli studenti medi e con la CGIL, con la quale collaboriamo sui temi del lavoro e del sociale». Dunque, si è autorizzati a pensare che l'azione di martedì pomeriggio risponda in tutto e per tutto alla campagna che la Cgil ha da tempo imbastito contro il movimento pro-life, dopo anni in cui le attenzioni della Camera del lavoro erano incentrate solo sulla tematica lavorativa dei medici obiettori. Da qualche tempo Landini e soci hanno cominciato a prendere di mira anche i pro-life impegnati nei consultori e in alcuni ospedali per informare correttamente e sostenere le donne che vogliono interrompere la gravidanza. Infatti, le prime reazioni contro le leggi regionali come quella del Piemonte, che fanno entrare i pro-life nei consultori, sono state provocate proprio dalla Cgil.Il 27 settembre scorso, in occasione della Giornata internazionale per l'aborto libero e sicuro la Cgil ha diffuso un manifesto per chiedere tra le altre cose il «divieto per le associazioni antiabortiste di operare nelle strutture pubbliche dedicate all'Ivg».E non più tardi di un mese fa, a conclusione della tappa italiana di 40 giorni per la vita promossa dai pro-life a Modena, sono comparsi nella città estense dei manifesti inequivocabili che chiedevano di mettere fuori legge le iniziative di preghiera organizzate davanti agli ospedali. «Liber3 (con tanto di schwa ndr.) di abortire, ostacolare l'aborto è violenza», dove il logo della Cgil faceva bella mostra di sé assieme ad altre sigle come Arci, Udi e Arcigay.Insomma, l'attacco ai pro life rappresenta per la Cgil della rivolta sociale di Landini un passaggio imprescindibile di questa lotta.E a proposito di lotta, non è un caso che questo sia lo stesso termine con il quale si è rivolta all'Udu proprio Elly Schlein. Il 4 giugno scorso, la Schlein ha incontrato i vertici del sindacato studentesco che diversi mesi dopo avrebbe fatto irruzione alla Statale di Milano.«Da quando è stata incoronata leader del Pd - scriveva il Foglio -, la collaborazione con l'Udu (che è sempre stata considerata la sigla universitaria di riferime

"The first time I heard the Antarctic blue whale recording, I was amazed by its really subtle signal on my headphones. I knew I was not able to hear it entirely, because it was coming from far beyond our human scale of sensibility. So, I heard it a second time on my speakers, to help me bring the basses, and then, everything around my room started to tremble. It made me think of the Alvin Lucier's project on “Music for Solo Performer” in which he brings to our senses his own brain waves by using percussions as a medium. I appreciate this gesture of not translating the unhearable but rather approach us to this sort of abyss from which we have little knowledge of. "To begin this submersion, I decided to operate with “Izotope Iris 2”, to analyze the spectrum of the sound and choose the frequencies I wanted to work with. It allowed me to silence the higher frequencies and focus on the most powerful ones between 0 and 100 Hz. There was a constant beating in the singing that reminded me of a way of playing an earth instrument I build last year. Inspired by the “Udu” percussion, this instrument had two entries of air. We were two players trying to reach the same frequency with our voice inside of the vase and whenever we succeeded, there was this beating in the air making our bodies and the earth vibrate.  "I wanted to use this sound as a form of response, inspired by the work of Aline Pénitot in “Feral Interactions—The Answer of the Humpback Whale” where she was able to communicate through the play of a bassoon, I lowered the frequencies of our playing recording so it could match the blue whale's tone.  "I started then by curiosity to transpose the whale singing from octave to octave in my midi instrument until recognizing the scale at which normally it is presented, where it is the most audible. Each time “I leveled it up” the time of reproduction was getting shorter. It made me think of the shorter life of insects and how we're undoubtedly inside of a fractal scale play where size, sound and time are related to our rhythm of existence.  "It appears to me that the earth has a complex system to regulate itself from the micro to the macro world and we're just a piece of it, we can only sense a piece of it. Recognize our perception limits can help us redesign our sound interactions with other species. Helping us to avoid the unconscious invasion of what's out of our range. "The end of this composition called “Señal profunda” reminds me of the sound of a warning, a kind of alarm coming from this depth signal asking us, if we are going to wait to be able to hear the damage we're doing to stop it." When not being played they may be found being used as containers for water, store grain, or even being homes to bee colonies. Within the last century udu have also been included in church music, again pointing toward the sacred perspective of the drums in the area. The Igbo people have a traditional concept that the sounds produced from the udu are the sounds of their ancestors. With ancestor worship a important aspect of their culture, this again provides evidence of the sacred placement of the udu for the Igbo people. V prenosu smo slišali drugi koncert letošnje osemintridesete Druge godbe. Veliko se nas še spomni prvega koncerta skupine Huun-Huur-Tu na Drugi godbi '96, ko smo se pri nas prvič zares spustili v globine grlenega petja iz sibirskih krajev. Še vzhodneje od Tuve se nahaja Burjatija in od tam prihaja odličen pevec, ki pozna skrivnosti grlenega petja - Aleksander Arhinčejev. In čeprav se je Aleksander že večkrat odpravil na dolgo pot v Evropo s svojo skupino Shono, nas je še bolj prepričalo njegovo sodelovanje z odlično litovsko pevko Laurito Peleniute (oba sta imela v okviru letošnje Druge godbe tudi vokalni delavnici). Skupaj sta ustanovila kvartet UDU in posnela tudi album, ki ga bomo nocoj v prenosu slišali v živo. UDU je glasbena skupina dveh narodov, ki združuje glasbeno dediščino Burjatije in Litve. Grleno petje je povezano z baltskimi pesmimi poganskih časov, ko sta si bila človek in narava blizu. Eppure dal 2008 abbiamo assistito ad un crollo esponenziale delle immatricolazioni principalmente dovuto all'aumento nella tassazione. Qualcuno potrebbe rispondere che le riforme sono state fatte, che c'è la no-tax area per chi non ha le giuste disponibilità economiche. Com'è possibile, allora, che moltə studentə siano tutt'oggi costrettə a prendere un'altra strada? Per quale ragione quello che dovrebbe essere un diritto inalienabile dell'individuo è ancora messo in discussione, troppo difficoltoso da raggiungere, relegato solo a "chi se lo può permettere"? Quindi, in vista della giornata internazionale dellə studentə - il 17 novembre - abbiamo organizzato una serie di iniziative, mobilitazioni ed assemblee per parlare del modello di università e società a cui aspiriamo.

Santana started his career with the intent to form himself musically through local music scene, such as Maracatu, Coco, Ciranda, Afoxé, Baião, Cavalo Marinho, Candomblé. Claudinho has lived in and visited more than 12 European countries and has been influenced by musicians from African and Asia. These contacts created a desire to learn and better understand the roots of percussion and their cultures beginning with the introduction of the instruments like Talking Drum, Djembe, Udu etc. He enjoys incorporating hand percussion with drum kit and believes that Percussion is “an endless universe”. His experiences at home and abroad have added to Santana's musical vocabulary; he played with the Maracatu Nação Estrela Brilhante for ten years and he was introduced to the musicians Marcos Suzano and Jorginho do Pandeiro. His primary instrument is the pandeiro, but he also plays djembe, timbal, congas and peruvian Cajon. Claudinho has taught percussion for the last 21 years. He has taught courses and workshops for more than a decade in Brazil and several European countries. In the US he held Pandeiro and Maracatu workshops sponsored by Contemporânea. In Recife, he held body percussion workshops sponsored by TIM Música, Pandeiro workshops sponsored by the Culture Ministry, and many others. Santana was a student of Jorge Martins, his first teacher and founder of “Corpos Percussivos”, where he was also an instructor. He also has held workshops in other Brazilian states, like Aracaju, Maceió and Fortaleza. He was invited as the Brazilian representative to the International Festival of Pandeiro, or NAFDA in the US. Claudinho holds degrees in music from the Universidade Federal de Pernambuco and in journalism from Universidade Católica de Pernambuco. In 2008 he received a scholarship to study at West Virginia University, where he studied steel drums, electronic music, sound painting, and African drumming. Santana has played with international names such as the British singer Joss Stone, accordionist Rob Curto and guitar player Clay Ross, both from NY, and the Scottish groups like Bloco Vomit and MacUmba, from UK. In Brazil, Santana has recorded and played with Zeca Baleiro, Junio Barreto, Silvério Pessoa, Geraldo Azevedo, Davi Moraes, Luizinho Calixto, Zé Calixto, Xangai and Santana “O Cantador”. With the singer Badi Assad he performed at Jarasum Jazz Festival in South Korea and in Rio de Janeiro with Ney Matogrosso. In the last ten years, Claudinho has immersed himself into the São Paulo Carnaval Bloco scene. He had the chance to work along with Bangalafumenga and Kizomba from Rio, Ritaleena, Charanga do França, Besta É Tu and he is currently the musical director for Bloco Pagu. Fern Teather and Sam Thurlow imagine the music that might have accompanied the dances and performances at which this Ibo maiden spirit mask might have been worn at the turn of the 20th century. The carved wooden mask was made around a hundred years ago by the Ibo people of Nigeria, and is now in the collection of the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology. We don't know the names of the Ibo people who made it, saw it, wore it to dance, or made the music for the performance; or of the maiden spirit the mask represents. The mask also tells of the negotiation of gender roles, as the mask was worn by a male dancer to evoke a feminine ideal. Fern writes, "This submission is a piece of African-style music played by percussionist Sam Thurlow using instruments common to Nigeria, where the Ibo Maiden Spirit Mask was found. The featured drum in the piece originates from the Ibo culture like the mask, and is often simply called an Ibo drum. However, its traditional name is an Udu. The instrument creates a unique bass sound that some believe to be the voices of Ibo ancestors. I was drawn to this object because I had heard Sam playing the Ibo drum, and was intrigued by the maiden spirit mask from the same culture. Our aim was to create a piece of music that could help people imagine the sorts of festivities the mask might have been worn at. We listened to traditional Nigerian dance music used in Ibo celebrations, and have attempted to create something in the same style specifically for this exhibit. Part two of the "slap" technique on the congas. In this lesson we will explore further the slap technique of hand drumming as it pertains to the congas. More specifically we will be explaining the open slap tone. Victor VillaFania will be with us in this episode and the next several ones to come. He is a tremendous percussionist and very humble. So humble in fact he requested himself that he'd rather not speak much. We will however have him speak more in the very near future since he has so much to offer in the way of playing and teaching.
