Nuestra sección UTMB os trae las clasificaciones completas de TODAS sus 13 carreras de montaña, así como el balance final cualitativo, por MayayoEspaña continua como segundo mercado mundial popular del UTMB Group. Sin embargo, en lo deportivo las UTMB Finals aquí celebradas apenas han tenido españoles en el podio. Arrancamos con el análisis de una edición compleja en la meteo, con el podcast por Mayayo y luego clasificaciones completas. La semana nos ha regalado cuatro tesis que valen para la libreta del entrenador —y para la mirada independiente del popular que se pregunta si aún "vale lo que cuesta" lanzarse a emprender alguna de estas cuatro ultra trails. Primera: La intervención quirúrgica de la organización, salvó las carreras sin desvirtuar su ADN. El ejemplo de la OCC 61 k (retraso de salida, recorte de zonas altas, enfoque en el gran ascenso a Balme y ese final vertiginoso por Argentiere) deja una edición distinta, pero no “descafeinada”. Aunque no pueda ser memorable por el episodio del tren, sí es justo reconocer que hemos avanzado un mundo desde aquel trienio negro de UTMB 2010-2011-2012 cuando la mala meteo convertía este evento en una casa de locos. Felicitaciones al UTMB Group en ese sentido. Segunda: Ojo con la TDS, la estadística no miente. Acertar con la microgestión es ley natural; el frío, la humedad y el terreno técnico no perdonan ni media. Sé que puede ser tentadora por ser la que menos llena está, pero eso es por algo: Si lo tuyo son las carreras de montaña extraduras, técnicas y alpinas, dale. Si no..ni se te ocurra, es una trituradora humana, mucho más dura que sus tres hermanas. Tercera: La CCC y OCC  como “las finales con más densidad". Con Mundial a un mes vista, se concentró mucho talento aquí, y se notó —en ritmos, en táctica y en ese margen histórico con los fabulosos duelos vividoa entre Walmsley y Mingoggio por un lado o las carreras de Puppi y Młynarczyk por otro. Solo el Mundial nos traerá más calidad en estas distancias, tanto en la Maratón como en la Ultra. Y es que....aquí faltan los africanos, por eso prefiero centrarme en las ultras, pues las carreras más cortas, sin los grandes talentos de Kenia, Uganda y demás, quedan algo cojas en lo deportivo. Cuarta: La UTMB reina ha mutado este año a la épica de la resiliencia. Evans y Croft ganan con solvencia y frialdad; Magníficos ambos. Aunque la historia paralela que nos ha robado a todos el corazón la firma una vez máss Courtney con un décimo puesto tejido con hilo de obstinación. Si en 2024 la conversación giraba sobre ritmos de ensueño, 2025 nos devuelve la liturgia de sufrir con sentido, que es la semilla de todo ultra.

The consumer healthcare industry is changing. Companies are separating from their pharmaceutical parents and brands are shifting from therapeutic solutions to preventative health and wellness options. These shifts bring a number of challenges for OTC firms, notes AdverCheck managing director James Walmsley in the second part of his chat with HBW. For example, it is much more difficult to get science-backed claims for food supplements approved, he points out. With firms now also becoming standalone consumer health entities, there is no longer a direct pipeline of off-patent prescription medicines available for Rx-to-OTC switch, he observes. Janet shares how she had to stand up for Jenny's wellbeing her whole life while helping her to develop in such a way she could stand up for herself and fight for her dreams. Jenny strongly advocates going after what you want and not letting anyone tell you- you can't! Jenny went from being low-functioning autistic as a child to a high-functioning adult. Has lived in Vancouver BC the past 13 years. She was a Dental Assistant and Hygienist for 27 years and then switched over to a Head Marketer position for Norvend. Late in life she became a Professional Working Union Actor, Talent Scout, Acting Teacher and Coach. Janet was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for a Comedy in the ISA Awards in Los Angles and then won the Unlimited Woman Award for Creativity at the Unlimited Women's Award. Janet is an advocate for shining a positive light for Autism, as her daughter, Jenny was diagnosed with it. Which prompted her to write a book, “The Autistic Author and Animator”, about Jenny's journey, through her eyes. Janet is also an 8-year Breast Cancer Survivor and advocate. She has a son Chris who lives in Australia and is Nana to her two grandsons. Jenny Story was born in Yellowknife but lived the majority of her life in Vernon, B.C. before moving to Vancouver in 2011 to attend Vancouver Film School and became a 2D and 3D Animator. In addition to her work with animation, Jenny has done short animated films/illustrations and her most recent short film is,” Sparkles Loves Bacon”.  Jenny is a Best Selling and Award-Winning Author of her YA Fantasy Fiction Trilogy book, “Dysnomia”, books one and two are published and getting quite the following, she is working on the third book to the series. Jenny is also pitching the first book to be made into Trilogy Movies or TV Series. She is also an actor. Jenny won a Literary Award at the World of Autism Festival She won the, “Autism BC Self Advocate of the Year Award” and also had a documentary film done about her journey with Autism. Despite being diagnosed with Autism; Jenny has always remained focused on pursuing her dreams and is passionate about inspiring others to do the same.  She was diagnosed at 3 with low functioning autistic however she is now at 31, high functioning.   I am your host, Marci Nettles. Global health care company, GSK, during their recent earnings report, outlined the company's progression in the areas of innovative vaccines and specialty medicines. During the investor call, CEO Emma Walmsley, addressed the earnings, speaking optimistically but realistically about the strategic developments of GSK. Walmsley mentioned that there is firm confidence in GSK's RSV vaccine, Arexvy, seen through market research figures and professional confidence levels.GSK's Performance This QuarterGSK has shown steady performance in Q1 of 2024, with stable growth in its principal areas of operation. The company has seen a 13% rise in sales equating to £7.4 billion. This was accompanied by an increase in core operating profit to £2.4 billion, a 35% growth from last year. GSK's core earnings per share have also risen by 37%. This performance can be attributed to the increasing acceptance of the company's innovative products in the market.The key to this performance is the strategic products, as acknowledged by GSK on its earnings call. These include Arexvy, Shingrix, Ojjaara, and Jemperli, which have been central to the company's growth. Also contributing to the company's stable performance is an ongoing commitment to research and development, facilitating a link between innovation and growth.GSK's Alignment with Consumer Trends and Future PlansMeeting emerging consumer trends, GSK is aligning its product offerings towards innovative vaccines and treatments for complex health conditions. This alignment allows for strategic planning concerning future growth. As the company affirmed on the earnings call, plans for investment into the vaccine portfolio are underway, including the regulatory submission of a new 5-in-1 meningococcal vaccine candidate.In terms of geographic strategy, GSK plans to focus on U.S. for Arexvy, and China for Shingrix. In addition to this, a focus on expanding GSK's HIV portfolio and investing in respiratory therapies is clear, suggesting broadening and strengthening its product range.During the earnings call, Walmsley also discussed the potential impact on the GSK's HIV business from a Part D redesign, aimed at reducing out-of-pocket costs for Medicare beneficiaries.
