Self-love tip: Be your own hero. Love yourself so much that you're willing to step up to the plate and provide for yourself. This week's self-love question actually comes from my Mom, Kerri. She asked, “How can we learn to forgive ourselves?”. I'm so happy that she brought this topic to my attention once again because until we release the hold that regret and shame have on us, we will continue to have a barrier between ourselves and our self-love. I describe forgiveness as acknowledging the pain and releasing the power that it has over us. That doesn't mean forgetting what happened to us or what we may have done, but rather simply allowing the pain or event to be there and being able to feel at peace with ourselves. To learn more, DM me or visit www.kaelinvu.com If you enjoyed this, please share it where you feel it is most needed. Much love! Xoxo

Welcome to this week's Dear Lovely Universe Lovely Motivation Monday video where I go live on Instagram for 5-10 minutes every Monday to give one self-love tip and answer one self-love question. This week's self-love tip is to stop running and confront your deepest fears. So often, people who have been through trauma will turn to drugs, alcohol, TV, partying, and many other distractions to keep themselves busy and avoid facing their inner challenges. This week's self-love question comes from Colby. He asked, “How can I overcome constant burnout in pursuing my purpose in the midst of a long road to reaching my goals?”. Thank you so much for asking this question, Colby. If you take away anything from this, let it be to have balance in your work and life. Have awareness of what feels good to you. Do work when you feel like it and when you just can't do it, don't do it. Stop the running and face your fears. Your future self will thank you!

Self-love tip: Contemplate how you will not only celebrate wins but also celebrate all of the steps you are taking every day to get closer to our wins! Sometimes our minds can get wrapped up in a distant future, thinking about how great it would be if only we had this thing that we want so badly. When we do that, we are really pulling ourselves away from the present moment and the groundedness that will eventually take us to that place. Come back to the present moment. Celebrate the progress that you are making. Sometimes we can put so much pressure on ourselves for everything that we do. When I first began writing blogs, I put pressure on myself to write one full blog every single day. I got so burned out from that. I realized that something had to change and so I changed my view from being that I have to achieve this one big thing to the perspective of “as long as I am getting closer to my goals” then this day has been successful. So rather than a tangible outcome of what I need to do, I made it something more digestible. Trust me, it's understandable to want to be so much further than you are. That can actually be a good thing, it exemplifies that you are passionate about your personal development and growth! The key here is figuring out how to do it in a way that is positively constructive for you and not exhausting you. Here are a few ideas that I've come up with and I highly suggest that you come up with your own! Cook a great meal.Paint your nails, wash your hair, take a bath, etc.Simply telling yourself that you are doing incredible and acknowledging your hard work.Doing a relaxing meditation that feels great for you.Taking in deep and pleasurable breaths.Allowing yourself to take a break.Come up with your own!My self-love question this week comes from Scott, he asked “When pivoting career directions, how does one stay confident in their course?”Thank you so much for asking this question, Scott. The first thing that comes to mind for me is to remember why you started. What is motivating you to make this change? And when it gets hard, what will keep you motivated? Usually, when people are doing something for someone else, that can be a really powerful motivator. Sometimes, doing things only for material gain or your own ego can be exhausting. I recommend creating a list of 21 reasons why you want this so much. Really dig deep into yourself.Another thing that I recommend is to have a definite outcome goal and action plan. If you aren't 1000% sure where you are going, it will be a lot harder to be confident in your course. When you know what your outcome goal is, you're able to plan out what will take you there. I recently purchased a best self journal where it is a 13-week tracker. You begin with 3 outcome goals, then digest those goals into weeks, then into days. All of these actions are tied to your outcome goal. Good questions to ask yourself are “Who do you want to become?” and “What can I do to get to where I want to go?”.Lastly, I'm not sure what your faith is or looks like, but honestly, for me, the biggest thing is trusting in God to help me. A lot of people feel called in their hearts to do something and aren't sure how to get there. That calling is your purpose. You were born with special gifts and talents to achieve that. When you are living out your purpose for the highest good of all, God definitely wants to help you. Trust and believe in that. Also, when you feel that God is supporting you, you will come from a place of abundance. This is important because the energy that you go into your work with dictates a lot. Energy can be felt by others, you just can't really hide it. The more that you work from a place of love and abundance, the better that work will feel for you, and the better results that you will yield. The last thing that I want to mention is to figuratively ‘take the stairs'. For example, rather than focusing on instant gratification and numbers, try to focus more on creating and nurturing meaningful connections. Focus on the big picture!I hope this was helpful! Please share this with someone who you feel could benefit from learning this information. Much love and talk with you next week!

Welcome to Lovely Monday Motivation where I share 1 self-love tip and answer 1 self-love question. This week's self-love tip is to allow yourself to receive. The more open and willing that you are to receive gifts, whether it is from your friend or the Higher Power, the more prosperous you will be in the gifts that you receive. In simple terms, the more open and willing you are to receive, the more you are allowing yourself to get. There are many layers that could get in the way of this. One reason may be that someone doesn't feel as though they deserve goodness and abundance. Another reason may be that they have had a lot of challenges in the past and created an assumption that because they have had challenges in the past, they will continue having challenges in the future. Here are two methods that I've found to work for my clients and I: Write out on a piece of paper a letter to the Higher Power that you are willing and able to receive gifts with joy and grace. Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and visualize yourself receiving an abundance of gifts. For both of these methods, there are two key points to keep in mind. The first is that when you are writing or visualizing, create the feeling inside that you are already prosperous and have gratitude for receiving. One way to ignite this feeling is to ask yourself, “How would I feel if I had this right now?” and see what comes up for you. The next point is that when you do receive, accept it easily and happily. My self-love question this week is from Dee. She asked, “How do we love ourselves best when we feel overwhelmed and stressed out by pressure?”. This is a really amazing question, Dee! Thank you so much for asking. This answer has two parts. The first thing that I recommend is to remember that you are exactly where you are meant to be in your journey. Overwhelm and stress is usually caused by living in the future. Bring yourself back to the present moment and trust the process. Then, make a plan. What works really well for me is to write everything out and organize it in a way that I can see the full picture. Then, depending on my timeline, I'll organize my tasks by time and rearrange them as needed so that when I look at the whole plan, it is 100% doable and motivating. The next thing that I suggest is to consider if this thing that is causing you so much overwhelm and stress is worth it? I'm being really serious here. There are definitely things in your life that you need to prioritize. I want to acknowledge that. But if you are under constant stress, this is a recipe for deteriorating mental health and eventually, physical health. If you don't have time for your needs, something needs to change. I previously had worked as a childcare nanny and I loved my job a lot. I had a strong emotional connection to the children and wanted to always be there for them. At the same time, I had no time for my own needs or self-care. Even getting groceries was really hard. This kind of situation is harmful to anyone and leaks our power. If this is you, reclaim your power back! It might hurt at first and can be hard, but you have to fulfill your own needs first before you give energy to other people. That is simply how you have a healthy life. Thank you so much for tuning in, if you liked it please leave a like and comment and also share it with someone whom you feel could benefit from this information!

In this episode, I would like to talk with you about perception and the importance of filter questions, then I'll give you 20 filter questions that you can use. Perception is your truth. That is the beauty of it. It's as if two people are sitting in front of a mirror, just at different angles. They are both looking at the same object but are seeing different things. Your perception is how you see the world. For example, if you wear red-tinted glasses, you will see the world as red. The same is true for green, blue, purple, and any other color. Your perception is shaped by all of your life experiences and the influences of people and the world around us. These perceptions are the foundation of your belief system which dictates how you judge and address situations. Aspects of your perceptions can help you achieve success and make you feel good and others can also be limiting and create stress. There are two types of energy responses, catabolic and anabolic energy. Catabolic energy is detrimental energy that is often associated with stress. This is because when a person perceives a situation as stressful, the brain creates catabolic hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol. The function of these hormones is to perish your body's cells and tissues to provide energy to move through the stress. This can be really great for those to get things done and make action happen but is damaging to an individual on a long-term basis. When someone is in a state of catabolic energy, it may be hard for them to look past what is stressing them out to see the full view of other options that are available to them. Now, let's talk about anabolic energy. Anabolic energy is the force that enhances performance and is associated with less stress. The reason for this is because when your body is not under stress, it creates hormones that rather than tearing your body down, it builds your body up and cultivates your body's systems. It's important to remember and deeply know that neither energy is inherently “good” or “bad”. Both have their own purpose. On the same note, I'd like to add that every single person is where they are meant to be in their journey. Meaning that wherever they are, is the perfect place for them. Our wishes and desires for them don't dictate how they feel or what they do. It's important to know when it's appropriate to help someone and when to let them learn on their own. If you are a crutch to a person before they are ready, they will become dependent on you. In this case, we can pray for them and send them love. Now let's talk about filter questions. I want to ask you, what is awareness? You can pause this right now and really contemplate that. This is really such a profound question because there are many layers to it. One may answer that awareness of noticing what is around you physically. Another may answer that awareness is noticing what is going on in their body or mind. Another may answer that awareness is your knowledge about something. I'll share something with you that my Father shared with me. He gave me a notecard that said: “Imagine that you have no stories in your head. Who are you? What are you? You are awareness, consciousness, emptiness, nothingness, spaciousness. Am I aware?”At a deep level, the way that I interpret this is that we all associate ourselves with an identity. There is the self-identity, where everything is about you. There is the team identity where you identify with a group such as a sports team or a country. There is the planetary identity where you can identify with the planet Earth. And lastly, there is a Universal identity where you identify with everything in the Universe. But when we strip away all of our identities including our name, our gender, our age, our race, etc. Who are you? This is what I believe is true awareness. Let's back up for a second. You may be wondering, what does awareness have to do with filter questions? Filter questions are a really great way to gain awareness of our thoughts and actions. With this awareness, we can make better decisions. Filter questions are helpful to use when you are feeling confused about something or before you make a big decision. Now, here are 20 filter questions that you can use in your life. 1.What is my intention with this?2.When was the last time I listened to my instinct?3.What do I really want from this?4.Why do I want to do this?5.What's attracting me to this person?6. What am I like when something concludes?7.What was my thought in the first 10 seconds of meeting this person?8.What have I been successful with?9.What do I need to change to get there?10.What makes me laugh?11.What is my ideal outcome?12.What expectations do I have about this?13.What keeps me going?14.What really excites me about that?15.How would trying that feel to me?16.How does that idea fit with my values?17.What am I tolerating with this?18.What scares me about that?19.How can that help me?20.What clarity do I need? You can most definitely come up with your own filter questions. Pick a few that you really like and begin incorporating them into your decision-making process. My personal practice includes asking myself “why” about everything. Before I post a picture on Instagram, I ask myself why I want to do this. Before I go on a date, I ask myself why I want to do it. And it honestly is really helpful. My other favorite filter question is to ask myself what my intention is. That is really important because the intention is what will dictate if my heart is in the right place. I always try my best to act from a place of power, goodness, and conscious decision-making.To conclude this episode, I would like to tell you that I have full faith in you and your process. If you have questions about anything I mentioned, you're more than welcome to send me a message on Instagram @dearlovelyuniverse or email me at hello@kaelinvu.com. I'll cut right to the point, many women are sabotaging relationships due to being in their masculine energy. Here's why, at some point when you were a little girl and you got hurt and wanted to express your feelings, you were shut down or celebrated for being quiet, etc. This taught you that shoving your feelings down was a sign of strength. While this can be a good thing in many other areas of a woman's life, in dating and relationships it is a good idea to consider learning how to embrace your feminine energy.Listen to find out how you can have better chances in your love life. if you enjoyed this or it helped you in some way please let me know and share it with a friend. Seriously, I have so much more to share with you! I'm not sure if you know this but honestly, the best compliment to me is when you share episodes with your friends and family. This is the best way for me to get my messages out there and your trust is so important to me. Next week I'll post my episode with Karrie Klimas discussing The Formula For Taking Action. Karrie is a Life Mastery Coach and does really incredible work. You can connect with me on Instagram @dearlovelyuniverse. I'm always posting updates and what I consider fantastic quotes. And if you are READY to claim your power back, book a no-obligation discovery call to see if we're a good fit for one another my tapping the link in my Instagram bio or visiting www.kaelinvu.com. Lastly, if I created a course, what would you want the course to be about? You can let me know in my Instagram DM! Thank you so much again for joining me and I'll talk to you next week!

While I did plan to upload a solo episode, I ended up filming this episode with Liz from Resiliency In Running and thought it would fit in perfectly. I’ll still record a solo episode about this topic and release it soon. Liz Newcomer is such a great person and friend. We connected almost a year ago through Podcorn where we collaborated and filmed an episode about forgiveness for her podcast show Resiliency In Running. Liz has a really inspiring story of overcoming her coping mechanism of drinking and turning to running as her form of therapy. She is running the London marathon this year and honestly kudos to her! That’s so cool.In this episode, Liz and I discuss:Her experience with sexual trauma. The key moment when everything changed for her.Her message for listeners who have been sexually abused. How forgiveness comes into play with sexual trauma. What her recovery journey looked like. And much more.Thank you so much for tuning in today. This week on Dear Lovely Universe I am so happy to introduce Denise as our new co-host. Denise will be coming on the show spontaneously to discuss topics such as self-love, confidence, fashion, beauty, dating, health, and we'll probably share too much information about our personal lives! You might remember that she was actually a featured guest in the episode, “Happy Girls Are The Prettiest Girls – A Discussion About Choosing Self-Love And Compassion.” What I really admire about Denise is that she is always so positive and she also has a really great sense of humor. She is an absolute badass, kind, and supportive woman. She is an entrepreneur and has created multiple businesses through her ventures. Currently, her brand is called Hermosa Girl where she is selling clothing online through her website shophermosagirl.com. Besides all of that, Denise is genuinely such a great person and has a lot of insight through her years of working with women in the fashion industry and wisdom from her life experiences. Her ideas on how women empowering each other make us stronger and how we are all beautiful women are truly inspiring, even to me. From the moment that I made the decision to let my pain go to the point of starting a podcast, every step forward was a conscious choice to not let my past define me. This week on Dear Lovely Universe may be one of the most important and difficult podcast episodes for me that I ever posted. I’ve decided to get real, raw, and vulnerable with you. I’m finally speaking my truth and setting myself free. I owe it to myself and one precious life. I’m fully taking my power back. As a coach, I also feel compelled to share my story with others in the case that it may help them. People often ask me why or how I became a coach and it’s because I went through it and now I’m choosing to help other people going through similar experiences. Next week, I’ll post a part two following this episode talking a little bit about how I overcame my experiences and what they’ve taught me. But for now, here is a glimpse into my life.I just want to say thank you for caring. Please remember to be true to yourself, love yourself unconditionally, and allow joy into your life. If you’d like to share your story and how you’ve overcome it, you can apply to be a guest on the show! I’d be happy to give your story a platform. To follow or get in contact with this podcast you can find me on Instagram @dearlovelyuniverse. I hope that you enjoy it and gain value! Thank you so much again for tuning in today! Let’s connect on Instagram @kaelinavu or you can find me at dearlovelyuniverse.com. Hey Lovely! Thank you so much for tuning it. I really appreciate it!This is the trailer for the launch of the second season of Dear Lovely Universe. I’d love to take a moment to introduce myself just in case you aren’t familiar with me yet, my name is Kaelin Vu and I’m a life coach. I specifically enjoy helping women strengthen their self-love and confidence after trauma. The reason why I began DLU in 2019 is that a few years ago I hit rock bottom so I decided to make a change in my life and really just began working on creating a more positive future. The biggest turning point for me was making the decision to not live in pain anymore. When I genuinely realized that I helped myself get better, I became passionate about using my experience to help other people who may be suffering. When I first started DLU, I didn’t really know what I was doing. I just knew that I needed to start. I had so much inside of me that just needed to get out. Since then, I’ve written over 60 blogs, have collaborated with SO many incredible people, and have just learned so much along the way.It always melts my heart and amazes me that people just like you tune in and enjoy my content. Support from Dearest Lovelies really makes me feel so wonderful. My mission with this podcast and my life coaching service is to help as many women as possible feel unequivocally empowered to be their authentic selves by connecting with their own abundance of self-love.Moving forward, what you can expect in season 2 are new episodes posted every Friday consisting of coach calls with clients, solo episodes, guest interview episodes, and co-hosted episodes. Our main topic will be discussing tips, tricks, and wisdom on how to strengthen your self-love and confidence after trauma. In a few weeks, I will introduce to you a new co-host that will be joining me on a somewhat regular basis to share her knowledge of rebuilding self-love and confidence. To conclude this trailer, I would like to share with you a few of my biggest lessons from having Dear Lovely Universe so far: 1) You never know where you may go. The important thing is to start. If I’d given into the fears surrounding starting a podcast and sharing my voice, I may have never decided to continue helping people as a career and become a coach.2) You never know who is listening. You have the ability to inspire and motivate so many people by doing what you love. There are people out there who are waiting for you to find your voice, harness your gift, and need your help specifically. 3) Have faith that if you are doing the right thing, then God will help you. Numbers don’t count or matter. I say a prayer every time before I film an episode and ask God that it will reach the right people who it is meant for. 4) The experience is far more valuable than any book would have taught me. I had no idea what I was doing when I started but because I did it all by myself, I learned along the way. I’ve met people who have shared with me some of the most incredible wisdom. You don’t need to have it all figured out. Lessons aside, this podcast has helped me grow so much as an individual, and I’m so grateful for every one of you that is on this journey with me. As a coach, I’ve helped many people successfully build themselves back up and I’m so excited to be a part of your healing journey. If you’d like to get in touch with me, let’s connect on Instagram @dearlovelyuniverse or you can learn more about my coaching services at kaelinvu.com. I really hope that you enjoy the following episodes to come and have an incredible rest of your day!

Hey! This week’s episode is a collaboration with Don’ A Owens discussing ideologies from the book called, “The Four Agreements” by Miguel Ruiz. I began listening to the audiobook on my work commutes and thought to myself what a great book it was. In this episode, Don’ A and I discuss: -What the four agreements are, explained and broken down one by one.-Personal experiences about how certain things mentioned in the book have impacted our lives.-How self-abuse comes from self-rejection and how self-rejection comes from not fulfilling an expectation.-Your body is your temple, take care of it. In this episode, I sit down with Mindy McGinnis who is a writer, published author, and podcaster to discuss what really happened behind the curtains of her writing career and how she got to where she is now. This episode is for you if you are an aspiring writer, podcaster, business aspiring/owner, creator, etc that is taking the route of personally making something of yourself.Personally, I really enjoyed this conversation with Mindy. I resonated with what she said a lot, especially when she talked about how on this path if you don’t make it the only person who is really going to get disappointed is you. A lot of other people can cheer you on, but whether you fail or make it doesn’t affect them at all. I really hope that you find the time to listen to this episode because I think you will benefit from it. This description really doesn’t do the episode enough justice. In this episode, we discuss: What self-starting means to Mindy and her real-life experience. Advice that she has for writers and entrepreneurs. (Mindy said that she believes anyone can be a writer. Of course, given that you put in the work.)What she would like to say to people who ask themselves, “Why am I this way?”.Why Mindy thinks it is important to persevere and accept your reality.Where her inspiration for writing comes from. And much more!Mindy’s socials:WebsiteBlogPodcastInstagramTwitterFacebookMailThank you so much for listening to this episode with Mindy McGinnis. Episode 30 is hugely inspired by the book “Unf*ck Yourself” by Gary John Bishop. Probably a little more than I had intended, but I still put my touch on it. This episode is very oriented about taking action. This episode is for you if you feel like you are on a neverending hamster wheel, you know that you are holding yourself back, you need a call to wake up, or you desire to learn new beneficial perspectives. I can almost guarantee you that after listening to this, you will feel inspired. In this episode, I discuss:You will die one day. That is inevitable.Everything we do is to achieve a feeling. (This will make sense, I promise.)It’s normal to outgrow things. You’re not crazy for feeling unfulfilled. To make a difference in your internal world, you must make a difference in your external world and vice versa. No surprise here!Being your authentic self is so rewarding. Not waiting on a feeling to take action. You don’t need permission from anyone or anything to start or end something. And more!Thank you so much for listening to this episode about taking action. If you enjoyed this, please subscribe and share it with your friends and family. If you are listening to this on Apple Podcasts, I would be very grateful for a review and rating. It helps a lot and I really appreciate it!
