Do you shy away from the potential to fail and “play it safe”? Do you find yourself trying to make sure you give your kids the easy life you never had? Or maybe you put them in a position to win all the time or be sheltered from potential harm…? . The fear of failure is a real thing, but I believe failure is a necessary part of life and the earlier we allow ourselves or our kids to fail, the better our chances of “success” in the long term. . Well if you fall into these categories, please allow me to talk about my own experience as a child raised like that with a husband NOT raised like that, and in raising our own children! I hope you will see how that fear of failure is stunting your growth and perhaps your children's growth in a way that may not allow them to deepen their own relationship with God. Let me explain…
Have you ever thought about doing a bodybuilding competition? Or maybe for you, you want a coach that looks like someone you've seen in a bodybuilding (aka “bikini” or “physique”) competition. But I have some news for you today-some thoughts based on my own experience and having been privy to so many conversations and situations. You also may not know this, but between 2017 and 2018 I was working to be someone that others looked up to and “prove myself” as a trainer. So, on todays episode I'm going to go over the 5 top reasons I stepped away from competitions. Stay tuned!!!

What do you say to yourself when you look in the mirror? Do you believe every Monday morning when you have a week laid out in front of you that you can CONQUER it? Or do you shrink into the mindset that it's going to be a long hard week? How you start is often how you finish. I am going to use a song today that inspires me in this area, and I think you'll find the analogy useful as well. The song is “Unstoppable” by Sia. I am going to reveal today to you why your belief in yourself is so important for knowing your “purpose.” And I'm also going to give you four action steps I want you to take towards moving on towards your purpose, so make sure you take some notes! PS. In this episode, I HIGHLY encourage you to go back to episode 25: 2 Secrets to Finding Your Purpose Revealed if you haven't already listened to that episode. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/grace-2-conquer-christian-coaching-for-healing-recovery/id1546569662?i=1000518599387

When is enough, enough? When and how do you handle overwhelm, exhaustion, and mental fatigue? We talk a lot about how to “detox” in the health world, especially as it relates to our bodies and perhaps our digestive system, but how do we recognize other toxic things in our lives and how can we deal with these? Rest assured, this is something that we see a lot of especially after the pandemic-and it's more common than you think! So sit back and let's see if there is something in your life that you might need to detox from-to eliminate from your world so that you can continue living a healthy, more sustainable life! _________________________ If you are looking for a community of women who are seeking to better themselves and be challenged to grow, check out my FREE Facebook community: https://www.facebook.com/groups/grace2conquer/?ref=share_group_link
Struggling to get your kids off to school each morning with food in their bellies let alone get the house clean and organized? Overwhelmed by how fast chores and dirty laundry seems to pile up without an end in site? Or MAYBE you see women on social media who seem to do all this effortlessly and their houses seem so clean…and you think, how am I failing so bad at this? I have good news for you, momma! You are NOT ALONE! And…NEWSFLASH…what you see on Instagram probably isn't real anyway.
Have you ever gotten amazing results and then BOOM-you went right back to where you started? Or maybe you just TRY and TRY and TRY and can't seem to get where you're trying to go… Maybe it's time for some SELF BELIEF (vs Self Sabotage). As moms, we often find ourselves in a monotonous state and even when we try something new, we get back to where we were before. It's what we know-it's our space. Sadly, that doesn't yield growth in our lives and it doesn't help us move forward and become the person we were meant to become. We need a little more self-belief!!! Today I am talking about your RAS (reticular activating system) and how it pertains to your health and fitness and just about everything else you do in your life. I am going to go into how you can make it work FOR you instead of against you! Stay tuned!!!

If you have hit a plateau in your fitness or weightloss journey, you are not alone! Every person who has a journey where they are working on themselves will hit a slump where they are either not seeing results or just not “feeling it” anymore. I have GREAT NEWS for you: this is NORMAL and it happens to even those of us who are trainers, body builders and the like. Now, if you are new to fitness or working out, you are probably not there yet but these are some TOOLS to put away for when you do feel like you're “stuck” or in a rut-I hope you'll remember them!! Thank you for joining me today and I hope you have found some inspiration and useful information in today's episode!!
Have you been “stuck” lately in an area of your life? I talked about balance on my last episode and how it's virtually impossible to grow with one area if all areas are being balanced. This is the NEXT STEP in achieving what you want, whether it's in business, fitness, or any other area of your life. You are going to have to ask yourself some tough questions and Jamma Foote (my amazing husband), owner of a million dollar agency, top team leader in producer with Symmetry Financial Group, and motivational speaker, is here as my guest today to give us a pep talk about it! Stay tuned because my next episode will specifically be about how to overcome or get out of a fitness rut…you know…when you plateau in your journey or get bored with something…? Thanks for listening in! Don't forget to leave a review on apple podcasts if you are using that platform for a chance to win a gift card!!!

My friends, my tribe….! These are LIES!!! The scale does not give you your worth!! It's time to stop focusing on weight loss and start working on value gained!! Do you ever wonder how some people seem to get SOOO much done in a day, meanwhile you barely can get the bare necessities accomplished each day? Are you trying to find a way to fit something “extra” into your schedule? Or maybe you are a Business-Owning-Mama who would like to scale your business but you feel like you get stuck doing the same busy routine every day and are not growing either individually or in your business. Girl, I GOT YOU!!! Today is about LISTS, which is a love-hate relationship for me. I also talk about when and what to use lists for and how you can use them in creating a schedule. I get comments all the time that I'm super-mom. That running multiple businesses from home and running 4 kids around (since the other two oldest come and go as they please), plus podcasting, meal prepping, getting time to read and workout, seems impossible. Let me tell you…I'm no supermom and I struggle just like everyone else but what I am sharing in this episode is my KEY to success in all areas of my life! Did you believe there were monsters in your closet or under the bed when you were little? Did you ever find that to be true? Has anyone ever said something about you or to you that you might have felt was untrue at first but then you believed their lie? (Like how you look, etc). I'm today's episode, I challenge you to stop believing the “noise”…to let go of past comments that others might have made about us. To not buy into the “monsters under the bed” who are not real. I hope each of us grows and realizes we are not what other people say we are. They may say things out of spite, ignorance, jealousy, anger, or just plain ugliness in their own heart. if it's not good it didn't come from God. I know I am who God says I am. God says I am good. Period. Let me say that again… I am who God says I am!! I know that God's word says that HE made me and knew everything about me before I was born. I know He promises good for me and that I owe everything to Him. I grow as a person, I help others and I follow my passion for working with others because I love God and I love me and who He made me. It took me many years to see that I was worthy and it didn't help when I had people in my life who called me anything less than that. What do you believe about yourself?? Just a few of the many scriptures that affirm who we are in Christ: “Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.” Ephesians 1:4 NLT “So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.” Colossians 2:10 NLT “Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.” Psalms 139:14 NLT “Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.” Ephesians 1:4-5 NLT “For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10 NLT _____________________________________ PS. Don't forget you can STILL join the MAY SHRED, a 28 day/4 week mini challenge for free until May 9th. Have you ever left a project “unfinished”? Do you StRuGgLE to focus on ONE task throughout the day? Look, I hear ya, sister!!! The other day I left a sink full of dishes to take a kiddo to school and then went from one thing to another and another , only for my husband to comment a few hours later that he could tell I'd gotten distracted AGAIN and didn't finish the dishes. Haha!!! I actually hardly ever do the dishes (HE does), so I had to laugh… Well, many people with ADHD have trouble sticking to healthy routines and even if you don't have ADHD, you may as well! Today I want to talk about the things I have done and work on to help me FOCUS my mind and create healthy DAILY habits. _______________________________ Don't forget that I have a small and free group going on right now for the MAY SHRED and I post workouts daily on the Facebook group. Do you ever find yourself WAITING for God to answer you on what your “purpose” is? Have you asked God to show you what you are “meant” to do? And maybe you feel like He is not listening? Friends, I have GREAT NEWS!!! The answer may surprise you as it is usually much easier than we think! Wether we're a mom, housewife, working a 9-5, or any season of life, we often overcomplicate it and look wayyyy ahead into the future for what we must accomplish. But don't be too far ahead of yourself! Listen up as I'm talking about finding your purpose in the “rest” and how to grow stronger in the wait and where you are NOW. The Bible tells us in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Wow! Isn't that AWESOME?! I also reference these passages of the Bible today: Psalms 119:105 NKJV “Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.” Proverbs 16:9 NKJV “A man's heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.” Proverbs 11:14 NKJV “Where no counsel is, the people fall: But in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.” Proverbs 1:5,7 NKJV “A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; And a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:” “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: But fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Proverbs 12:15 NKJV “The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: But he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.” MSG “Fools are headstrong and do what they like; wise people take advice.” Matthew 11:28-30 NIV “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” If you'd like another episode about finding your purpose, please listen to episode 25: 2 Secrets to Finding Your Purpose REVEALED Please be sure to SUBSCRIBE and leave a REVIEW on my podcast so it can reach more people and hopefully help some other moms struggling with the pressure of having to find their “BIG PURPOSE” and calling on their life!!!
Do you ever see, hear, or read ads that talk about melting your fat away?? Or you might see in working that something helps you “burn fat,” right?? This is just ONE of the FOUR most common myths that I want to debunk for you today! Doing this kind of stuff makes me excited because it once again reminds us all that we are human-it's so easy for us to give in to the hype and the “fast-fix” because I mean, who doesn't want things quickly and easily?? But, if health and fitness was so easy and having a chiseled bod was so quick to get, many more of us would not be suffering the effects of our own bad habits and inability to commit to a better and long-term lifestyle. But it's not ALL our fault! There is responsibility and there is naivety. So, let me help uncover these myths that you may have inadvertently fallen prey to!! Thank you for listening and don't forget to check in on my website at www.grace2conquer.com and check out the fun stuff launching including my programs, and training options!!
SPOILER: there are NO shortcuts to true health!!! When you see people on social media talking about the NEW plan they're trying and how great it's working, let me ask you this simple question: If it's that great, why isn't EVERYONE doing it? And yet, here we go, chasing after the next diet or the next supplement that promises us weight loss… RED FLAG!!! If a company ever asks you to take a pill or drink to curb your appetite so you'll eat less…RUN as fast as you can in the opposite direction. This is what im getting into on today's episode. Also, right NOW, go review my podcast if you want a chance to win one of several $50 gift cards to my website www.grace2conquer.com where my spring launch is officially out. What does trust have to do with fitness and nutrition? I mean, having resiliency is fairly obvious if you are into fitness, right? Bouncing back from a brutal workout a day or two later…understanding the “no pain no gain” concept. Well, when it comes to everything in life, including your goals and having a coach, we say “trust the process.” It's actually pretty simple how these two concepts piggy back off one another. In todays episode, recorded a few days before the birthday trip I made, I am delving into a key concept when it comes to any life coaching or personal training….from a Christian perspective of course. Don't forget, I am launching ALL NEW programs and products on my website this weekend! So stay tuned and make sure you plug in to my Facebook group as we kick off our official spring launch team with fun giveaways!!!
Have you ever looked in front of the mirror and spoke or thought something negative? We often tent to do this and it is referred to as negative self talk. Today's episode is all about overcoming this and how my special guest, Carla Arges, from Affirming Truths Podcast, has used godly biblical affirmations to grow and overcome the very real struggles associated with mental illness. I am blown away with all the Carla has been through, but speaking with her, I can just feel her love for God and passion for helping others. Did you know that there are 4 types of self care?! I didn't ever stop and consider this either!! Today I'm talking with my friend and fellow podcaster, Melanie Chavez, who is also a certified self care coach and host of “The Joyful Momma podcast.” She helps overwhelmed moms find joy through self care and healthy habits, and be more productive in their daily routines so they can prioritize what matters. So TODAY, she is talking to us about what each area of Self Care is, and why you need them ALL. This is SO GOOD! The 4 types of self care are: 1. Physical 2. Emotional 3. Social 4. Spiritual. Melanie also has a FREE self care journal, just click here: https://mailchi.mp/586e5ff45e4c/untitled-page And, if you are interested in The Joyful Momma's Facebook group where you can discuss more with other moms about this, please join here: www.facebook.com/groups/joyfulmommacommunity
Today's episode is just a quick check-in because I have had a lot on my mind and my heart going through this newer medical issue. I realized when I have a “new” hurdle in my life, I struggle to love this body of mine. I push through a lot…but sometimes it affects me. So in order to have MORE prayer and get this off my chest (no pun intended), I am sharing what I'm going through right now. Quick little episode today and I appreciate you all for listening, for caring, and for your feedback!! Don't forget to rate and review my podcast so we can share these messages even more!! I love you ladies!!
I will love myself when I ________. If I ________, then I will love myself. Oh how I wish we could all learn these things I'm talking about on today's episode!! Above are two of the most common ways we self-sabotage…not necessarily obviously, but each of us is bent towards it. I know a decade ago, I was seemingly in the “prime” of my life-I looked great, was a tiny size and super strong being able to do unlimited pull ups, rock climb, run 4 miles effortlessly, and plank for almost 10 minutes. But what we don't often talk about is what was going on inside. Many times in the last decade I would think about how I would love to be that small…that fit. But what does it mean to be “fit”? And also, why did I keep coming back to that desire to be just like someone-the “me” from a decade ago. Was it because I felt accepted socially? Because I was small?? Because I could try anything on and not feel bad because if anything, clothes were LOOSE? What we often don't realize is that we are NOT the same person we were “before.” We MUST understand we are different…wiser, older, and everything including our cells that make our body have changed by now-we are literally a NEW person. Does this mean we don't work on ourselves? Absolutely not!! You may think self-love dampens motivation to change. FALSE. Self-love is the STRONGEST foundation you can build for transformation. Here are a few things I'm talking about today: ✔️The difference between satisfaction and acceptance. ✔️How withholding love or joy from a person would be a sign of a toxic relationship in any other partnership - why do we do that to ourselves? ✔️The tendency we have to internalize problems rather than recognize the outside factors that come into play. ✔️What really brings us joy…and it's not hitting our goal ✔️How do we define the word “fit” in our own lives? In my many years as a personal trainer, and then my not-so-great times working with a bunch of so-called “health and fitness” companies like Xyngular, Beachbody, It Works, etc, I've made a LOT of mistakes in my own life and in adding to the problem…helping people treat their symptoms, instead of addressing the issue. Let's CHANGE the health and fitness industry and START by changing inside…by loving ourselves completely so that we can BECOME the BEST version of ourselves. I think we owe that to ourselves, don't you?! Don't forget…just a few days left to “share the love” by dropping me a review or sharing that you're listening to this podcast (take a screenshot of what you're listening to on here or your review and post to your story, tagging @grace_2_conquer ) for a $5 Starbucks card ALL MONTH LONG!! (Feb 2022 only)! Thank you for spreading this podcast so that we can help others know the truths vs. lies we are uncovering!!
Ever wonder what all those diets, exercise programs, things you say when you look in a mirror, or how you “skip out” on certain foods is affecting your daughter?? It's not just society teaching our daughters that they aren't enough…you might be too! Although this is a long episode today, it's an explosive one when it comes to NUGGETS you are going to be thinking about when it comes to your influence on other young minds!! Today I'm joined by my 12 (almost 13) year old who is in the last few months of 7th grade. Her name is Trinity and because she's with me in the studio, and I've gotten her permission, I use her story a lot today because I was also guilty of imposing a lot of behaviors not even realizing what I was doing to my kids. Warriors, please I beg of you, listen to my story and take heed so that you are not left wondering why you have daughters who grow up thinking they have to fit a mold, that they aren't perfect the way they are, that the “all or nothing” mentality or the the “exercise because I ate bad food” idea is okay!!! If you are exercising every day and making your kids be a part of that you might be hurting more than helping. Most often kids are not going to adopt the things that you are imposing on them as habits in their life-and they will adopt YOUR insecurities as their own, YOUR habits of dieting… Let's make sure we are setting a healthy example for our girls starting TODAY! It's never too late!
When it comes to a One-Size-Fits-All app or program where you just plug in your info and go, without it taking into account YOU…why would you expect anything but failure? We call this a “Unicorn” approach because it could randomly work for some. But the same is true for someone browsing Instagram and seeing someone lose weight doing “xyz” so they try it to see if they also can and they don't. Or your friend has lost noticeable weight and you comment on it and she tells you that she has been making a green smoothie every day and that is causing her to lose weight. What you DIDN'T see in those two examples are the fact that the girl on IG has been beating herself up trying for the results-restricting herself, annnd she's 26 so her metabolism is different than yours. And your friend…she eats nothing usually so her metabolism had slowed down…by her doing a green smoothie, she is actually getting more fiber and nutrients and MACROS which is actually helping her body not starve itself anymore. But do you see how easily we do that? How we go about making these quick decisions and assumptions because of the lie that it must be OUR fault that “this” or “that” didn't work for us? What if you could customize a fitness program all on your own FOR YOU?! Or you could have a coach who works with you to help you discover a healthy, balanced, and sustainable lifestyle including foods that you enjoy while helping you reach your goals? Wow! That sounds amazing to me!! And that's what I do when I work with 1:1 clients, group clients, and I also teach you how to do it on your own if you don't think a coach is right for you at this time. So stop trying to do something ELSE and let's get started doing our own unique plan!!! E-mail me at cara@grace2conquer.com today so we can help you get started or visit my website www.grace2conquer.com
Do you ever wonder if it's possible to have a successful period of time where you can “maintain” a consistent level of health without worrying about gaining or losing weight? Even if you aren't “there” yet and you are currently doing some kind of coaching, dieting, or other program…at SOME point, you may WANT to or NEED to ease up off the gas petal and let yourself just live and be confident in the balance you've learned to have enough to TRUST yourself. I'm not talking about intuitive eating but it does sound a lot like it. Basically it's not “common” sense…it's “experienced” sense-knowing how your body acts and reacts to certain things. OH and kuddos to you if you have gotten to where you can maintain a healthy, happy and balanced lifestyle where you no longer feel the NEED to go on a diet or program or change things up because that is very much a GOOD thing and I want you to hear it from a fitness professional because so many times we push weight loss or “change” but honestly, soooo many of us out there need to learn to just “be” a little more. Have you ever worn “slimming” undergarments that smash your intestines, high heels to make you look taller/thinner, or used contour to make your face look thinner? If you answered yes to ANY of those, then you my sister, may have a beauty idol. Do you scheme up new ways to make your body fit your idea or worthiness like a new diet, a special tea or juicing? Or do you think that if you punish your body in the gym that it will fit the idea that you've had of what you want to look like? These are really common ways that we, as women, have slowly taken a lie and made it into an idol. We see something, hear something, read something, and we think WE aren't “enough” as we are. We FEEL that we should be something other than exactly who God made you to be. Have you ever stopped to think about this? Listen along today for some TRUTH-TALK to encourage you and get you thinking and praying about the idols that you may have in your life. 2 Billion+ people in the world are deficient in some kind of micronutrients-Vitamin D, Calcium, Magnesium…to name a few! 70% of people in the USA are deficient in Vitamin D, 45% are deficient in magnesium. WHY is this SUCH an important topic?! Because 50% of Americans have a disease that could have been prevented because of a micronutrient (vitamin & mineral) deficiency. What happens is that our bodies put our immediate survival over longevity, meaning our bodies will pull what it NEEDS from our body for RIGHT NOW and won't worry about the damage to our cells that affect us later. We NEED to be aware of this so we can cover those gaps and have the best health we can, whether you're all about fitness and nutrition or not. So today I am just re-capping what I've said before to have the best foundation possible. I am a firm believer of knowledge is power so if you have any questions make sure you get to my website www.grace2conquer.com and send me a message or find me on Facebook or email directly at Cara@grace2conquer.com _________________________________________ I talk about my own vitamin pack (Microfactor) and greens (Opti-greens50) that I use in this link from 1st Phorm because of their high quality and standards (using link gives you free shipping and I get a 10% kickback if you do that I use towards my own supplements :) https://1stphorm.com/products/the-daily-stack/?a_aid=Foote __________________________________________ Thank you so much for turning in to my podcast!!! Do you struggle with your relationship with food? Do you turn to food as your primary resource when you're unhappy? Do you hide what you're eating from others? Do you feel guilt after eating certain foods, even in moderation? Does your eating feel compulsive? Do you feel out of control with your eating patterns? If you find you're answering “yes" to any of these, then maybe it's time to take a step toward freedom from disordered thoughts about food. TRUTH BOMB: YOUR BODY IMAGE DOES NOT DEFINE YOU!! It's time to take control of your mind and renew it in Christ. Let's look today at the steps we can take as we reflect on the inside instead of the outside. Ephesians 4:22-24 “that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.” Let's begin this year doing something DIFFERENT, making a change in us INSIDE. Romans 12:1-2 "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” There are two lies we tell ourselves: It's not possible or I'm not enough. The truth is you are worthy of all your desires. It's time to stop arguing for our limitations and finally release the resistance that holds us back. God set me free from body image issues. I believe God wants to set you free, too. Ready to stop caring and start living in this freedom? Do you ever wish you could get that pre-baby body back? So much so that you have clothes saved to fit back in to…”someday”? Do you have a fitness program or diet that you have solely because you have a “body goal” or are trying to have a body “transformation”?! My friend, if you answered yes to either of these…we have plenty in common. I have not only been there but it is a constant struggle wanting to have some idea of a better me (body wise). And as I've been sitting in bed recovering from a pretty major shoulder surgery, I've been thinking more and more about the months of body image convictions I've had. I've been studying and praying about these things because I recognize that as a trainer, so much of what I've helped women with has to do with them trying to have a “transformation”…a change physically and emotionally. It's much more than that but you get the idea. But what if THAT is the problem??! I am talking about that today and some of my thoughts as to why this is an issue-the truths that I've recognized when it comes to “before and after” photos. So, listen up and make sure you subscribe so you can be a part of what I've got coming up!! Have you EVER been on a “diet” or an “exercise program”?! How many different times have you tried to do something that would alter your physical state of being? Girl…ME TOO!! More than I can count…even after I first became a trainer in 2013, I still had so many warped ways of thinking plus a bad relationship with food and the thought that I had to run 4 miles, fasted, every morning in the pursuit of “being thinner.” Mind boggling really! Oh yes, at the time I lost weight and was the smallest I'd been (couldn't even wear the smallest Women's clothes without swimming in them)…but guess what? I was SO mentally unstable and just emotionally damaged. Over the following years I had this back and forth, two steps forward, one step backwards, way of getting there. Why? Because I'm stubborn and hard-headed and was certain to be approved of or be worthy, I had to look a certain type of way. I would feel guilty if I ate fried foods so I wouldn't eat much at all. I was trapped and consumed with comparing myself to other girls in the gym. But I remember really learning to love myself and only seek God's approval and one day, at the gym, I was finally able to look at other girls and say to myself “God is good…” Girls that wore hardly anything to show off their bodies; girls who wore the baggiest clothes to hide their bodies; girls who wore tight clothes that could care less what their bodies look like. And so I was grateful that we are ALL unique and have good bodies full of life. Today's episode is all about body image and breaking free from self-sabotage and comparisonitis that we so often subconsciously fall into. Going into this New Year, we are bombarded by fad diets, fitness programs and challenges, and promises to help us lose all the pounds that we gained over the holidays or over COVID. But it's going to cost you…listen to the full episode to find out how! ___________________________________ Make sure to check out my Facebook group below: https://www.facebook.com/groups/220473999028997/ ___________________________________ Check out www.grace2conquer.com for more programs being listed: decluttering your home, and meal planning ALL on SALE throughout January, to help you find balance and create a schedule that will help free up some of your time.
Happy New Year!!!! Are you a resolutioner? I am NOT! I find that resolutions are based on emotion-feeling shame, fear, anger, inspiration, motivation, guilt, etc. Emotions change and so does motivation so you are more likely to quit, skip, give up or just plain FAIL! I explain this a little more and then talk about why I choose an over all theme each year. Last year my theme was to Be Uncomfortable and this year it is to Go Deeper. What does it mean to Go Deeper? Do you want to work more on YOU and not just the exterior, but the inside-your relationships, your walk with God, your business, your mental state…?! I am so excited to unpack this concept with you since I am about to have shoulder surgery on the 3rd and won't be able to do all the physical challenges I normally do this time of year. I am excited to bring you an enlightening series about body image and the lies that are holding you captive in your life. Stay tuned by SUBSCRIBING and let me know you want more of something by leaving me a comment or a review! On today's episode, I'm addressing a question I've gotten in a few different ways but all boils down to the same answer. Everyone wants the magic pill to how to combat holiday eating and it's actually a very simple concept. I'm also addressing the question about my own fitness currently…heavy weight lifting, progressive overload, and resistance training and how each suits different purposes. Come walk with me as I talk about these things!!
Do you ever feel like you just need multiple clones of YOU to get ALLL the things done that you do every day? Do you feel like you are just exhausted from and yet strangely addicted to ALL your daily activities and “extra” things you volunteer for? Or maybe you are like me with ADHD and have SO many AMAZING ideas that you HAVE to pursue and explore (mine is crafts and businesses)?! Well this BONUS episode is for YOU!!! Overload is not the same necessarily as burn out but it can definitely lead to it. Today I am talking about the TWO MAIN AREAS that we have to take a hard and honest look at in our lives if we are feeling OVERLOAD from all the “hats” we wear: mom, wife, worker/business owner, entrepreneur, podcaster, blogger, trainer, coach, meal-preparer, homemaker, Sunday school teacher, nursery worker, babysitter…ALLL of those and more! Ladies, this is an area I STRUGGLED with most of my adult life and it is okay…it took me YEARS and YEARS to figure these things out and it was p-a-i-n-f-u-l to say the least. Listen up and take some notes then pray about what I have to say and do some journaling and then pray some more!!! Don't forget to come check out my Facebook group where we gather to talk about the things I bring up, motherhood, etc!!
Have you ever thought that if you pay for something, it will motivate you to follow through? That investment mentality can be a huge problem because…. “How you do one thing is how you do everything.” So whether you can do something on your own or for free, if you won't put in the work, will you TRULY put in the work if you are paying for something? Many think so…speaking from experience with my clients. Today's episode is talking about that. It's a short, straight-to-the-point kind of day with a little tough love! The links talked about in the episodes are as follows: _______________________________ www.grace2conquer.com https://www.facebook.com/groups/220473999028997/ https://www.1stphorm.app/Foote https://www.facebook.com/G2Ccoaching/
This episode is just a straight up walk while I talk episode with no intro or extras. The quality is not the same because…I'm walking outside, which is where I go to do most of my deep thinking. So…do you have a question? About fitness, marriage, family, hardships, mom life, nutrition….? Any of it? Send me an email cara@grace2conquer.com or get on my website www.Grace2Conquer.com and I'll answer that weeks' questions on my “Walk With Me Wednesday” episode. Today was the FIRST of these so I am just explaining a little about my walking and rambling on. Can't wait to hear from you!! XoXo ~Cara
Have you ever made that impulse buy as you walk near checkout? What about standing in the pantry snacking on some chips whiles you decide what you want to snack on? Today's episode is all about immediate gratification and how it plays such an important role in health and fitness. So many companies sell products that will supposedly take the “work” out of weight loss or a program that guarantees quick and easy results, but are disappointed when they don't see the results. At the same time, when someone hires a coach or personal trainer, they expect to see the sale start dropping immediately and their clothes getting looser and become discouraged quickly if these things don't happen right away. I once worked with a company called Xyngular and it promised 8lbs lost in 8 days with their special pack of products and in fact many saw those results (for numerous reasons) but then regained that weight with full force afterwards or after they stopped using their products. ________________________________ Our society has become addicted to immediate gratification in our fast-paced world. But it's always BEST to do the hard work to get real and lasting benefits in any area of life, whether emotional or physical. I know for myself when I wait to buy something until I have the money, I usually don't even want that item any more (or not as bad) and can be more realistic if it's a clothing item about if I'll truly wear it often enough anyway. And as far as nutrition or fitness, I've been a trainer since 2013 and started body building in 2017. It has been a PROCESS to build muscle or to reshape my body composition. It takes years to gain muscle maturity and I enjoy this art of working on my body. I still struggle with an underlying urge to want to “lose weight” but now I can remind myself that the scale is not my judge and I can enjoy life and food without having body dismorphia or any negative food relationship. And you can too…but you have to understand the problems with our thinking when it comes to immediate gratification. ______________________________ If you are looking for more info on how to work with me, or gain support in a community of like-minded women, the links are below: . www.Grace2Conquer.com https://www.facebook.com/groups/220473999028997/ https://linktr.ee/Grace2Conquer
Have you ever found yourself picking up your cell phone to scroll or text while you are at a red light? No? Just me? I doubt that!! ________________________________________ We all have our own vices and this is perhaps the thing I struggle with MOST as a mom, especially as a “mompreneur” (mom + entrepreneur). It's SO easy to be distracted and not BE PRESENT with others in our lives and just because we're moms, doesn't make it any easier! I know my ADHD also plays a huge role for me in that I struggle to focus ESPECIALLY on a rambling play-by-play of every single minute of one of the kids' day at school. I TRY…SO HARD!!! Am I a bad mom??? As a fitness professional and a life coach, I'm here to tell you that it's okay if it happens! The first step is recognizing it and then making a plan to change-write it out!! And then DO IT!! Maybe it means putting your phone far away in the car. Or getting an iPod to listen to music at the gym vs your phone. Maybe it will mean deleting a social media app every weekend so you can focus on family. For me, my goal is to be PRESENT with my husband and kids and to BE INTENTIONAL in everything I do, whether it's working out or cleaning the house. I actually took a sabbatical from my apps on my phone about 6 months ago and it was GLORIOUS!!!! I freaked out a little at first…think withdrawals, because I clearly was more addicted to posting on my stories than I thought. But it allowed me the time to focus on my kids and enjoy them so much more. PLUS…my house was more clean and organized and our meals were better planned. It is something that I am better about now, although being in fitness and having several businesses including running a podcast is REALLY hard to do without some level of distraction. I appreciate the accountability I get with my team in my Facebook group (which you can join in the link below) and from my husband…he's always checking me when he sees me pick up my phone after dinner when it's our designated “family time.” ________________________________________ Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/220473999028997/
Do you find yourself eating REALLY healthy during the week but on the weekends you let loose and perhaps even binge a little? (Or a LOT) O…only to find yourself feeling guilty come Monday and you either give up or you try to “exercise it all off”? That, my sweet friend, is a dieting TRAP and is brought on by the diet culture we live in where we are taught through social media and fad diets that you should only eat these things (insert lean protein and veggie type things here) and not eat any of “those” things (insert any carb, fat, deliciousness here). NOOOOOO!!! I'm here to HELP retrain how you look at nutrition and find your own sustainable and BALANCED lifestyle without the restriction that these fad diets teach you. Look, girl…I've been there!! I tried allll the workout videos (Beachbody) starting with Taebo when I was a teenager all the way to P90X. I actually really loved Turbo Jam with Chalene Johnson haha!!!! I also tried sooo many diets and companies: Atkin's, Weight-watchers, Beachbody, 21 Day Fix, Xyngular, isagenix, It Works, Shakeology, Keto, low carb, low fat….seriously….!! I even did a cookie diet!!! (Face-palm!!!) So take it from me…in my 41 years, I've come a LOOOONG ways in figuring out the hard way what nourishing my body looks like and began studying nutrition having been a personal trainer for the past 8 years. I also had at least one eating disorder at a young age (I was bulemic) and didn't know when I started having stomach pain all the time, that I was Celiac. I'm so grateful God has given me so much clarity in this area and that I can help other women break free from the dieting culture traps that we know today! Are you READY??? Don't forget to leave me a review!!! And make sure you visit our grace2conquer.com website to get on the mailing list or connect with me on my Instagram account! (But dm me if you do so that I know!!) Have a great day.!
