Tucker Carlson, a widely recognized name from his time at Fox News, is known for his prescience on a variety of issues. Recently, he shared a worrisome prediction about the upcoming election in 2024. This forecast has sparked a considerable amount of conversation, primarily due to the general mood he's encountered in his social circles. He mentioned the prevalent feelings of resentment and suspicion he has observed, specifically among people who aren't driven by conspiracy theories but are rather expressing their anxieties about the current socio-political climate. By now most people know that exposure to lead is harmful. However, back in the 1800s not so much. Then on July 9th, 1978 a chemistry professor announced the results of his research and warned that lead must be removed from all consumers products. Kim Nicholas' book, Under the Sky We Make: How to be Human in a Warming World, was the book that had the most impact on me in 2022. It woke me up to the urgency of the climate crisis in a way that I hadn't felt before. Specifically, how laser focused we need to be on eliminating fossil fuel consumption and extraction for a livable planet for humans. Period. Dr. Kim Nicholas, a climate scientist at Lund University in Sweden, is ringing the alarm bell and connecting with the issue and the solutions in new ways - often through personal storytelling and even poetry. Calling on all of us to go beyond-net-zero to actual zero. She acknowledges the need to centre voices, perspectives and solutions that aren't typically at the centre if we are going to solve this crisis.It's a hard topic. I'm Jaz Gulati and welcome to one of my ramblings, okay? We're gonna do this as an interference cast. And I'm gonna teach you a few lessons that I've learned before, I guess I've learned them in very traumatic ways. Jaz's Introduction: You know, when you make mistake and think, Wow, I never want to make this mistake ever again. And then you want to share it with everyone so that it helps others too. So the theme of today's rambling is the following. It's about listening to that voice that we all have inside of us, during a consultation or during a patient interaction, you know, that deafening sound of alarm bells you sometimes get. And yet, for some stupid reason, you might decide to ignore it. Well, today, guys, I'm happy to report that I didn't fall for it. I heard those bells, loud and clear. And I acted appropriately, and I dodged a bullet. Okay, let me give you the exact example. And in fact, I am going to liken this example to a really significant thing, which I picked up from a book, like one of my favorite books is Outliers by the author Malcolm Gladwell, if you haven't read Outliers yet, please check it out. It is my all time favorite book. And I think it's in chapter seven, where it discusses why aeroplanes fall. It's a random divergence, I know, but hear me out. Aeroplanes fall not because, you know, the engine has an error. And that's it. And that's why airplanes fall and that could happen. That's rare. Airplanes actually fall, when they do fall, when there's an issue, a big problems do happen in aviation when lots of little things, lots of minor things that all happen at once. And they usually surrounding communication, and teamwork so it's accumulation of all those minor errors that would result in it. So for example, the pilot was hung over, right? That's one thing, right? And then the pilot was working with a co-pilot, and they've never worked together before, okay? And the guy who was supposed to do the final checks on the aircraft vehicle, had COVID or something, and he couldn't come into work that day. And therefore, all of those little things combined and bad weather that day, is the reason that the airplane fell not because of one big error, it's accumulation of little errors. Main Episode: [Jaz]So what lessons can we learn in dentistry? Well, think of those little errors lining up in your patient in front of you. So let me give an example. I saw a 78 year old patient today who was referred to me for some surgical extractions, okay? Age doesn't bother me too much. Yes, we know sometimes it can be more difficult to extract and we need to take care, but it's a medical history that really bothered me. So let me tell you the accumulation of minor errors. So error number one, there was no up to date medical history, it was last filled-in in 2019, okay? So I was like, oh, god dammit, why is this patient referred to me without a medical history? Error number two, he comes in and I get an update of medical history from him. And he conveniently has forgotten his sort of long list of medications and he's going by memory, okay, that's another little alarm bell that I'm hearing in my head.

“The only option I had was to sell my house.” Morgan Jewell is a young and intelligent mortgage broker, who at the age of 23 had a terrible experience with buying an off-the-plan property. She lays out all of the details for Sharon on this episode of The Property Pineapple. Already a property owner, Morgan was talking to her boss one day about wanting to add to her portfolio with an investment purchase. On his recommendation, she consulted a property spruiker. After a short meeting, she was presented with a list of properties within her price range for her to consider. They talked up the potential rental yields and told her the area was earmarked for development, and that this would have a great impact on prices. Being excited and spontaneous, she signed the contracts right then and there for an apartment development in Brisbane. Signing involved becoming a part of the company’s “community”, which benefited Morgan with newsletters and information on the industry, as well as incentives such as discounts on landlord insurance. But of course, she had to pay up front for this privilege. This should have been Alarm Bell #1, because she shouldn’t have needed to pay anything up front. But Morgan admits she didn’t really think about it, and just accepted it was the way things went. After she committed to buying the apartment when it was completed, the waiting game began. It was originally supposed to take 12 months, but when the year went by, Morgan was told that it would probably take another 12 months. About eight months after this, she received a phone call telling her to start organising her financing. This was not good timing, as her and her husband had made some changes in their personal lives, with him going self-employed. This had a surprising effect on their ability to get financing, and none of the brokers they went to could help them.  She considered walking away, but the $25,000 deposit she had paid was too great. So she went back to the company who had sold her the development and told them her predicament. She was told the option for her was to sell her house, and feeling like she had no other option, Morgan did as she was advised and put her home on the market. It took one month to sell, and when it did she went back to the company to tell them she could now afford to settle. But amazingly, they then told her the property wouldn’t be ready for another year. Finally, after so much fuss, the property came up for settlement. But of course, by this stage Morgan and her husband were in a better financial position and would have been able to keep their home. It was in a suburb in Melbourne that has seen significant growth, and so losing this asset, when they didn’t need to, was devastating Despite this, Morgan is circumspect about the experience and her old boss who referred her to the company. While she acknowledges that he got a referral payment, he also bought a property through the same company, so had at least put his money where his mouth was. Additionally, Morgan realises that had she done her due diligence, she would not have found herself in this situation in the first place. Morgan used this experience as an inspiration to shift careers into mortgage broking. "SAMAJWADI PARTY HAS WON THE PHULPUR WITH ITS CANDIDATE NAGENDRA PATEL DEFEATING THE BJP CANDIDATE BY 59,613 VOTES. The counting of votes for the bypoll elections for the Lok Sabha seats for the city of Gorakhpur and district of Phulpur in Uttar Pradesh has started which brings to highlight the following trends: Nagendra Pratap Singh Patel of the Samajwadi Party is won by 59,613 votes in Phulpur after 28th round of counting. Praveen Kumar Nishad of Samajwadi Party is leading by 22,954 votes with 3,77,146 votes. Whereas Upendra Dutt Shukla of BJP holds the second position as he is leading with 3,54,192 votes after 25th round of counting. Post 25 rounds of counting, the Samajwadi Party seems to be on the leading front by 22, 954 votes in Gorakhpur alone. However, the margin seems to be only narrowing over the past couple of rounds. Where 47 percent of the voters used their franchise in Gorakhpur, the turnout in Phulpur was relatively lower, at 38 percent. On the other hand, Anurag Bhaudauria, spokesperson of the Samajwadi Party remarked at the Yogi Adityanath led BJP government in UP saying, “This is a rejection of both (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi and Yogi (Adityanath).” He further added, “They have been making tall promises but not delivering on the ground.” Both Phulpur and Gorakhpur headed towards bypolls on Sunday and saw quite low voter turnouts with Phulpur registering 37.39% votes and Gorakhpur recording a turnout of 47.45 percent of votes. In the Bihar by-election, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) by Lalu Yadav is leading in Araria parliamentary by-poll and has won in the assembly segment of Jehanabad."

Once you develop the awareness to understand the traits, you will start to see them everywhere. And they become powerless when you see their games from the beginning. They rely on deception and manipulation and neither of these things are possible when you see what they are doing. [9:20] "You know what's scary is that feeling [of being intensely love bombed], it's like a drug"- Rachel [9:50] "[..,] who have been abused violently, but they stay in it because of that drug at the beginning makes them live in false hope." [10:20] "The other thing is... He looks at you, like you’re the only woman in the world [..,] you are the princess of all princesses."[11:00] Why can we say that, that someone who makes us feels intoxicated even after the violent abuse, is the man/woman for us? [13:00] Why does devoting or committing to set a future really quickly became an ALARM BELL in a relationship?
