Taboo to Truth: Unapologetic Conversations About Sexuality in Midlife
Think you know what turns you on? Think again. We tend to treat pleasure like it lives in a few familiar places—the usual G-spots, the go-to zones we all default to. But the truth? Your entire skin is wired for sensation. Your body is a playground of possibility… and chances are, you're only exploring a fraction of it.In this episode, I'm taking you beyond the basics—past the genitals, breasts, and all the usual G-spots—to uncover the overlooked 13 erogenous zones that can completely transform your experience of desire. No penetration required. Just curiosity, presence, and a willingness to explore what's been hiding in plain sight. From the power of the brain (yes, it's your sexiest organ) to the often-ignored backs of your knees (seriously!), I'm showing you how to awaken your body in unexpected ways—ways that build anticipation, deepen connection, and redefine pleasure entirely. If your sex life feels a little too routine—or you're just ready to feel more alive in your own skin—this episode is a must listen! Let's unlock the pleasure you didn't know you were missing.Timestamps:(00:00) Introduction (01:32) Brain as the biggest sex organ (Did you know you can orgasm without any touch?)(01:58) The skin: Your body's largest erogenous zone(02:30) Lips & tongue: Beyond kissing—creative ways to tease and tantalize(03:22) The neck, clavicle, and ears: Slow, sensual exploration(04:20) Fingers: How to use them everywhere (plus combining touch with lips)(05:05) Armpits and inner arms: Surprising zones for some, turn-offs for others—how to navigate(05:34) The sides of the torso and thighs: The art of the tease(06:04) Behind the knees: My personal favorite(06:16) Feet: Beyond fetishes—how gentle touch can ignite full-body arousal(06:45) Outercourse: Why pleasure doesn't need to lead to intercourse(07:18) Mindfulness: How being present amplifies sensation (per Peggy Kleinplatz's Magnificent Sex)(07:57) Cannabis and sex: Can it heighten pleasure? Buckle up, creeps, because this episode is a rollercoaster of madness and tragedy.First, Casey Anthony is back—yes, that Casey Anthony—resurfacing on social media, and the internet has thoughts. We dive into her bizarre return, the outrage, and why the world still believes she got away with murder. Then, we uncover the Mormon armpit chlamydia epidemic. That's right—bagpiping, soaking, and the truly unhinged lengths people will go to in order to technically stay “pure.”We also revisit one of the pettiest, most unhinged love triangles ever—the London Zoo Christmas Party Brawl. A llama keeper, a meerkat expert, and a monkey handler walk into a party… and by the end of the night, someone is swinging a wine glass to the face. And in a sharp turn into the tragic, we discuss the Aberfan disaster, one of the most devastating and preventable tragedies in UK history. "I could be wrong, but I know I'm not." - Kara Goucher. You know it's a good episode when Kara drops that quote. In this episode, Des and Kara cover a topic that you DID ask for. They give you their hot takes on the return of Shelby Houlihan from her 4-year ban. As you might expect, it is complicated, so find some paper towels and put them under those armpits... it gets warm-ish in here over the second half of the episode. First, they recap an amazing weekend in Houston with their perspectives on all of the races, including those that aren't getting enough attention - Erika Kemp's 2:22 and Weini Kelati's second American record. And yes, they give Conner Mantz his flowers too while covering "the shove" and talking about what his race might mean for his confidence in future marathons. Can he be the one to break through for the American men in a World Major? Then, they shift the discussion to Shelby Houlihan's return covering everything from their initial reactions to her ban and now to the media coverage of her "comeback." As you might expect, this is a difficult topic to cover, but Des and Kara do not shy away from discussing all sides of it. Agree or not, the hope is that we can all turn now to just seeing her race. As usual, this episode ends with a top 5 that includes a special shout-out to the new Glycerin 22 coming soon from Brooks. You can pre-order yours here to support them and the pod: https://www.brooksrunning.com/en_us/womens/shoes/road-running-shoes/glycerin-22/120434.html?dwvar_120434_color=020

While there is a myriad of deodorants, shower gels and perfumes helping us stay fresh and fragrant today, that hasn't always been the case. How did humans stay clean in the past, or did they not care so much? And is there an evolutionary reason for human body odour in the first place? These are questions that CrowdScience listener Sarah has pondered on trips in her camper van, when she wants to keep clean, but washing isn't always convenient. In search of answers, presenter Anand Jagatia delves into the sweaty details: where body odour comes from, why some people's armpits don't smell, and whether this heady stink serves any purpose. Could our natural odour really help to attract a partner, or is it just a smelly bacterial by-product? Anand explores the intriguing mystery of human pheromones, and hears how for hundreds of years, Europeans were terrified of washing.
