Rea Beaubien is a medicine woman, ceremonialist, healer, and artist. For more than 20 years she has been a mother, spiritual seeker, and facilitator of ancient rituals in the mountains of Crestone, Colorado. She shares sacred awareness teachings locally and globally, inspiring others to transform. This work brings forth positive and lasting changes contributing to a brighter world. Rea's mission is rekindling our connection to and nurturing the Divine Feminine as was spoken of in prophecies. She believes that in this shared renaissance we are coaxed to return to who we really are. To play, listen, express, believe, get dirty, surrender – and most of all – to feel. As a result of visions and teachings received under lineages of North America, Rea created Heart of Ma, a global community providing sacred plant medicine retreats for more that 20 years. Heart of Ma offers the opportunity to safely transform, ground, and heal. In this episode, Rea boldly shares about the toll the medicine path can take on the health and wellness of facilitators and space holders, her difficult decision to slow down and take a break, and her thoughts about the fast-paced, often reckless psychedelic revolution that is happening now.  SHOWNOTES: https://www.sinclairfleetwood.com/nurturing-the-divine-feminine-with-rea-beaubien/ Join the waitlist for NEST here: https://mystical-heart-collective.ck.page/nest-waitlist --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/psychedelicintegrationpod/message

Music has the power to shift our attitude, enhance an experience, recall detailed memories, and more. Philmont music is a special breed; all of its own.  It's not just the chords and lyrics, it's the warm night breeze while overlooking the Tooth at Crater, or the impromptu staff after-show as crews hike off to their tents, headlamps bouncing, it's the telling of our best or worst stories, its the wrangler sharing cowboy poetry, its the energy inside the stomp cabin, lanterns swinging, its rainy night porch performances, and hearing that one romantic tune that makes your Philmont fling unable to sleep at night.  Music is medicine, in the form of the present moment and a longing memory - all at once.  Today's guest, GS Harper, grew up surrounded by music. His own father was a singer songwriter, and GS aspired to follow in his footsteps, and did just that. Ironically, until the 2021 season, GS never actually applied for any of his Philmont jobs. For four summers in the 90s, he was a walk on.  He would simply show up, with guitar in hand, and they'd find him a spot. In this episode GS discusses everything from the recording of the Tobasco Donkey's Yarn Sessions album at his mothers place in Cimarron, to the old Inter-Mountain Relay tradition, getting lost hiking and accidentally doing super black death, ghosts at Cypher's, and more. GS met his wife at Philmont, and we discuss that magic - how there's a certain type of person who returns to Philmont for seven or eight summers in a row. And since you are seldom in a situation like that, surrounded by those types of twin flames or mirrored souls - it's no wonder we carry on together throughout life. GS was recently on staff in 2021 as CD at Beaubien. We get to discuss his experience being back on staff after a 22 year hiatus. It was a great experience and GS would highly recommend it, in fact, he hopes it's not his last summer on staff yet. Today GS is a career singer-songwriter and guitarist.  He shares some of his favorite memories playing music all over the world.  He also shares the backstory of the well loved tune, August Day, which he wrote while on staff in 1995.  We close by recalling memories and GS says quote, “His Philmont experience has colored everything, and has informed every decision in his life since." Lori first came to Philmont to visit a boyfriend, and ended up staying the rest of the summer to work.  With no intention to return the next year, she suddenly got the itch and found herself craving another Westward adventure.   Her first official summer on staff, she was a PTC group leader.  She recalls PTC being a great place for a non-scouter to start her Philmont career.  She also remembers her tight knit group of girlfriends who spent days off in the backcountry together learning the ins and outs of backpacking. As a PC at Beaubien, she found herself across the meadow each morning, helping the wranglers prepare for tailrides.  She soon graduated from currying to saddling and became an honorary wranglers assistant.  The next summer, she returned as a wrangler, and eventually become the 4th female horsemen on South Cavalcade. From shoeing and topping off, to horse drives and rodeo dances - Lori found herself amongst her own - a Ranch department family rooted in hard work, respect, and education.   As South Cav horseman in 1997 and 1998, Lori thrived as a leader and embraced the opportunity to build relationships with backcountry staff camps.  Lori met her husband at Philmont and says quote "There's just something about a guy in interps."  Today the Lori and her family remain active in Scouting and Philmont.Removed from all other distractions, Philmont gave Lori the time and space to think about who she wanted to be as she went forward into life.   The hard work she encountered as a wrangler put into context other challenges in life - that with some grit and trusted friends, one could make it through hardships, and grow from them too.  Philmont Experience1993 – PTC East Tent City Asst.

Unfortunately, I uploaded the incorrect version the first time around - so if you downloaded prior to 11 PM Eastern, I would encourage you to delete that and re-download the newest iteration. Thanks! We're back with a fun-filled episode as we take a deep dive into the latest FTR set. Riding shotgun is FTR mastermind, @Swarm Beaubien. Characters, stats, art, narrative - we get to it all in a compact 80 minutes, no less. Plus, we've got all the latest news and notes from Fed HQ. Thanks, as always, for listening, promoters, and Happy Holidays!

I often hear from laundromat owners or former owners that when they first bought their laundromat it wasn't what they expected. Often it was significantly more work and stress than they anticipated. Many owners cut their losses and sell their laundromat business. They then go off and explore other opportunities. A very few tough it out and either eventually find success, or eventually throw in the towel. Even less end up selling their laundromats only to regret it and buy the exact businesses they sold back. That's Nathalie Beaubien's story. After a stressful and overwhelming start in her laundromat journey, she got to a point where she needed to sell her businesses. Shortly after she did, she regretted it. In today's show, Nathalie tells her story about why laundromat ownership was overwhelming, why she sold her businesses, why she bought them back, and what was different the second time around that turned her into the "Soap Box Queen!"In today's show, Nathalie and Jordan discuss:The path of Nathalie's journey in the laundromat businessOne of the problems with laundromatsWhy she sold her businessWhy she bought her exact laundromats backHow the last 7 years was different from her first 5 years owning her laundromatsWhere she found opportunity with her laundromatsWhy she prefers to be hands-on in her businessHow her personal brand has affected her businessesHow she grew her wash and fold businessWhat her secret sauce to success isThe #1 tip she gives to new laundromat ownersThe best places she has gone to do her research on the laundromat businessAnd a lot more!Show noteshttps://laundromatresource.com/show60Show SponsorsAtmosphereTV- 50+ channels of positive, fun TV programming, allowing you to cut your cable bill and create a great atmosphere in your laundromat! May 12, 2021--KZYX Program Director Alicia Bales presents a special interview with NPR’s global health correspondent Jason Beaubien. Jason has family in Mendocino County, and while he was in the area on May 8, he sat down for a conversation about radio, his work covering the global pandemic, and why stories from around the world matter. If you listen to NPR news, Jason Beaubien’s name will be familiar. Over his two decades at NPR news he has travelled all over the world, bringing listeners the voices of ordinary people living through extraordinary circumstances, from civil wars to nuclear meltdowns. He has spent most of his career in the developing world, and has a reputation for being willing and able to cover disasters. So when news came of an outbreak of a novel virus in Wuhan, China, he tried to get in to tell the story. Since then he has reported on the scope of the pandemic throughout the world, and has shined a light on the stark inequities revealed by the global response. He spoke to KZYX on Greenfield Ranch in the hills west of Redwood Valley.

We are back with a jam-packed episode! We go over the recent teasers, but the real meat and potatoes of this extravaganza is our in-depth look at the FTR roster with Rob Beaubien. We go from the very first set all the way up to the recently released FTR: Suspects from COTG Prime 2021 Q1. Rob lets us in on his creative process once again to talk about the highs - and, believe it or not, lows - of the roster. Who needs an update? When should a character get an update vs. a story refresh? Who are our favorites from the cards released thus far? How can you get your hands on a certain special edition card that not listed on the store? **Of course, Rob didn't just come on to talk characters, he also dropped in to unleash 3 big bombshell announcements on the Filsinger Games Universe! What can we expect from the Q3 releases? Who's getting an update? And, stay tuned until the very end, to hear the plans for the future of FTR when Rob retires from the creative side in 2022!** All of this, plus so much more. We also touch on our upcoming episode as universes collide and we begin our first crossover with Uncharted Territory!

On a particularly fateful day - May 17, 2006 to be exact - Elizabeth “Slim” Uribe-Goertz was hired to work at the Villa, and the rest is history. Today (as I type this to be exact) she is driving to Cimarron, NM - where the Rockies meet the Plains - for good.  In this episode Slim shares the many impacts that Philmont had on her life, which ultimately lead her to pursue and accept a full-time HR position at the Ranch. Whitehouse, TX native, Slim is best known for her smooth harmonies and laissez-faire, empowering leadership style. Slim met her husband Eli Page-Goertz at the ranch, as well as her many friends, whom she lovingly claims as her most precious Philmont mementos. In this evening episode, Slim and I chat about backcountry fashion, mental health considerations, Viking feasts, siblings, and of course - music. A carefree spirit and beloved backcountry “mom,” Slim embodies what it means to love a place and give back to it. If you happen to be trekking, on staff, or just in the area - visit CHQ Registration and ask for Slim.  She’ll be there for you! In 1978 and 1979 as a Ranger, Tom hiked with a guitar strapped to the back of his Kelty backpack, and immersed himself in the solitude of hike-in days and the can-do spirit of the Philmont community. It threatened Philmont’s southern border, hence evacuating the southernmost backcountry camps. Thankfully the fire was contained and did not reach the Ranch itself. Mission encre noire Tome 29 Chapitre 335. Minimal Violence, a duo from Vancouver, also released their debut album, InDreams, last year — full of raw techno like this. The mix then relaxes into an ambient track from Nick Schofield's Water Sine album. Nick, of course, is a fixture of the Montreal music community and a community radio host. I chose the two dancehall tracks that close out the mix to offer a counterpoint of the current news cycle. These songs appear on compilations from VP Records and Penthouse records, picked up from Death of Vinyl on St Laurent and Beaubien. Support your local record shop! (Note this mix was all vinyl except anabasine's track.)

This week Jodi talks to Nannette de Gaspé Beaubien, founder of skincare line Nannette de Gaspé. She pioneered the dry mask, which, despite its $100+ price tag, became an instant cult favorite. Though she's brainy, beautiful and brimming with enthusiasm, the last part wasn't always the case. It's not like she hated her life, but until her 40s, she was doing what she felt was expected of her. “I lived on the terms of everyone else,” she says. “But what I realized was I wasn't necessarily doing things in a way that made me happy.” In this episode, hear how a self-described type-A personality learned to let go of expectations and start living life on her terms. Plus, get her predictions on the future of indie beauty and what small brands need to thrive.#wherebrainsmeetbeauty@wherebrainsmeetbeautypodcastwherebrainsmeetbeauty.com
