“One thing that will make you better suited towards being able to deal with that is if you have a resilient mindset to know that whatever you're going through, what is the lesson I'm going to get out of it and how is it going to make me better? Where is the positive growth going to come from here?”Tiran Jackson's story is a masterclass in turning heartbreak into hope and challenge into fuel. If you think a speaking career is about big breaks or spotlight moments, Tiran is living proof that the real work happens in the trenches of adversity. What began as a thriving engineering career was turned upside down by a tragic accident that took his wife's life and left Tiran fighting for his own. In the aftermath, he didn't set out to be a speaker, but the realization that his journey through loss, resilience, and rebuilding could help others, sparked something new.For months, Tiran focused on tiny, consistent steps: showing up for grueling physical therapy, supporting his son through grief, and speaking at small gatherings, but each moment, and every bit of hard-won progress, mattered. His breakthrough wasn't about having the “best” story, but about building the discipline to show up, refine his message, and deeply serve his audience.Today, Tiran speaks to leadership teams, NFL athletes, and faith communities on resilience and using adversity for growth. His business didn't happen overnight—it grew as he learned to share his story with intention, listen to the needs of his audience, and put in the work of outreach and relationship-building. The lesson? Success as a speaker isn't about being the loudest or most dramatic voice—it's about being willing to show up, be real, adapt, and encourage others no matter how tough it gets. You'll learn:Using adversity for growthResilience in challenging situationsThe role of a strong support systemGrowing confidence and recognition of potentialThe importance of process, audience outreach, and message refinementCustomizing talks for various audiencesThe value of building long-term relationshipsKnowing one's valueThe realities of building a businessAnd much, much more!“If you're not good at something, the best thing you can do is have a process for improvement.”Episode ResourcesTiran's Website2 Day Booked and Paid BootcampGet Free Speaker ResourcesBook a Call with The Speaker LabCalculate Your Speaking FeeJoin The Speaker Lab Community on FacebookSubscribe on Apple PodcastsSubscribe on SpotifySee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

“The biggest mistake that I see speakers make is that they think that if you just go on stage, and you do a good job speaking, the spinoff business will magically present itself.”Being on stage is pretty much always the most fun and most rewarding part of being a professional paid speaker — but as all experienced speakers know, what happens on stage is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to building a successful speaking business. This week, Arel Moodie joins the show to break down how to find more paid gigs in your chosen niche through what Arel calls "spinoff business." Arel and Grant talk about how to build a solid reputation, nurture relationships, and leverage connections to turn one speaking gig into two or three more. Arel goes into detail about his challenges while starting out as a speaker and what tools he used to break into the industry and get past the toughest part: getting his first gig. Finally, Arel talks about a tool called Talkadot that speakers can use to expand their reach and build more connections from the stage. If you're ready to take your speaking business to the next level, this is a must-listen episode for you! You'll learn:The 3 types of people in every audienceWhy spinoff business is importantHow to build a stellar reputationWhy you should join a local Chamber of CommerceHow to use Talkadot to grow your speaking businessAnd so much more!“Clients will book you if they have confidence that you have done well with a group like theirs in the past.”Episode Resources:Arel's WebsiteGet Free Speaker ResourcesBook a Call with The Speaker LabCalculate Your Speaking FeeJoin The Speaker Lab Community on FacebookSubscribe on Apple PodcastsSubscribe on SpotifySee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

“That type of belief is what carries you through when everybody else is dropping like flies. When you know for a fact this is what you're made for, then there's nothing else you can do.” The journey to professional speaking is not always a simple one, and our guest this week knows this all too well. Ken Hartley spent over 20 years serving as a worship pastor (and also worked as a magician!) on the way to becoming a full-time professional speaker. This week, Ken is here to break down how he found his new career in speaking and made the leap of faith that led to this point. With a background in ministry, music, and magic, Ken was no stranger to the stage. However, making the switch to speaking wasn't an easy one. He found himself struggling with the commitment both financially and personally to take the leap, but was encouraged and supported by many family members. In fact, his mom gave him the money to get the training, and 19 months later, he got a gig paying the same amount as the kind gift he was given. It can be difficult to overcome self-doubt, and fear, but Ken will discuss how he worked through those moments, and learned to trust himself and his talent. Plus, his participation in The Speaker Lab as a student shaped the way he works in the business for the better. Each opportunity or gig has led him to new spin offs, and he is the perfect person to learn why showing up for yourself and committing can help you grow for the better. You'll learn:The secret to taking risksWhere to find the right resources for youHow to overcome imposter syndromeWhy you should consider The Speaker Lab for trainingHow to build momentum in your businessAnd so much more!“The only way to get good on stage is to be on stage.”Episode Resources:Ken's WebsiteGet Free Speaker ResourcesBook a Call with The Speaker LabCalculate Your Speaking FeeJoin The Speaker Lab Community on FacebookSubscribe on Apple PodcastsSubscribe on SpotifySee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Salesy: Boosting Sales & Scaling Your Online Business with Meghan Lamle
In today's Salesy episode, I talk about not teaching the "unicorn framework"I'm not going to teach you to be me, act like me or build a business like mine. Personally - it is my PET peeve when I see people who work with a coach to completely change their personality to match that coach.I've been there - I've sat on the other end of insecurity thinking that something was wrong with me, and I needed to change. I've been in the same space of coach hoping to think that they had some secret sauce. And when I stopped putting someone above me and acting like they had a secret I didn't… that is when things changed in my business. It's been almost five years, 350+ students and multiple $100k launches in my own businessAnd most of my student doesn't look alike when they sell, they find their own way to do it.Their content doesn't look like a mirror of mine, you can't look at it and say, "AHH she works with Meghan."I don't want that for you - so I don't teach that.Sales is the lifeline in your business - it bleeds into everything. It affects the prices you have, how much time you spend with people or how many times you have to follow up.It can create the confidence to raise your prices if you want to serve less clients. It could create the space to take time off if you wanted, and be able to completely unplug. There is NO business without sales but even in 2024 - I still see so many business owners who avoid it...Who OPENLY tell their clients - I hate sales, so I don't sell. But then get stuck in the trap of over marketing, hoping to sign clients, throwing offers out and not getting the results they want. So, what's different between them and my clients making $5k, $10k or even $20k months? You already know the answer - learning sales in a way that gets them results. And the result in sales is money. That is the difference of being able to look at your account, put money into your savings and be okay.Links:InstagramLinkedInBlogIf you are struggling with signing clients on sales calls, grab the 10k sales script to help you sign clients today. The Art of Agency Acquisition: What Kyle Hunt Looks for in a BuyoutAre you built to scale?Built for sale?Or built for fail?TL;DR: Tune into this episode of OOH Insider with Tim Rowe and Kyle Hunt if you're thinking about starting your own ad agency, especially if you want to work with D2C and ecom brands.Learn the key pitfalls that make an agency unacquirable The critical difference between working in your business vs. on your businessAnd the seasonal dynamics that impact ad spending Discover what makes a company an attractive acquisition target and why owning brands could be a strategic move for agencies. Get insights on prioritizing effective merchandising over basic marketing, the risks and rewards of making significant business bets, and the common trap of chasing new ventures at the expense of expanding what already works. This episode is packed with actionable strategies for anyone looking to elevate their agency-operational acumen.Scaling agencies is hard BUT there are a few common mistakes that can hinder growth and make them less attractive as acquisition targets - how do you know if you're making them or not?Thinking about starting an agency? Here's how to know when it's the right time.00:03:29-00:03:39 - "I'm making so much money for these guys. I should be doing this on my own and starting something else."BEWARE The Brilliant Bottleneck - Does this sound like anyone you know?00:06:53-00:07:04 - "The Brilliant Bottleneck is where they are so involved in working in the business and they know where all of the deep tribal knowledge is buried. They know how it should look and feel, (so much so) that they themselves become the thing preventing the agency from actually scaling."The #1 Shortcut to Building a Better Business00:16:09-00:16:19 - "It's a little bit of good old fashioned roll up your sleeves and figure it out. Talk to humans."Is the silent killer lurking in your day-to-day?00:24:07-00:24:17 - "I think shiny object syndrome is the number one killer of great entrepreneurs because it pushes your focus to multiple places."Top 3 Things I Learned From Kyle Hunt:Avoid being the "brilliant bottleneck": Agency owners should learn to delegate and trust their team, rather than being the bottleneck for decision-making and progress. This allows for scalability and growth.Be cautious of shiny object syndrome: Agency owners should resist the temptation to constantly chase new strategies and channels. Instead, focus on doing more of what is already working and optimizing those areas for better results.Plan ahead for peak seasons: Proper planning and preparation are key for successful peak seasons like Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Start planning well in advance to ensure smooth operations and avoid last-minute chaos.

So, you're already giving your good advice away – why not get paid for it? The trinamic trio is unpacking the thorny issue of when friends ask if they can just 'pick your brain' about something in this awesomely inspiring episode of the Kingdom Builders Academy Podcast that will leave you questioning whether you are truly valuing your worth. If people are coming to you for advice already, then you must be doing something right. So then it's on you to really flip the mental switch to go from being an amateur to being a professional. And the key difference is, of course, that pros get paid. And who doesn't want to earn their worth if they're adding value? The catch (if you can even call it that) is that as a professional, you then need to invest in the art of mastering your craft. Coaching programs, the right mentorship, and moving in the right circles will all help your influencer business achieve more as you learn to package and promote your services better. Then there will be no picking of brains, just willing customers paying the right price for what you're offering. With God's Grace, Coach Tam's experience, and Zack and Jillian's advice-giving insights, you too can get paid for advice you give away for free - starting now!"The workman is worthy of their wages." ~ Coach Tam "When you're a professional at something, it gives you the ability to master your craft." ~ Zack Lowe"When you have a demand placed on your gifting, YOU show up differently." ~ Jillian LoweIn This Episode:- How to succeed in the influencer business (by setting a price for your advice)- Learning to master your craft and invest in your training to improve- Flipping the mental switch between being an amateur and being a professional- Appreciating how and when you value your advice, you put a different demand on yourself- You show up different, they (the client) show up different- Unpacking the Kingdom Builders Blueprint- Getting clarity on your WHO- Why not every passion translates into a businessAnd more!Resources: - Make That Purpose Call! - FREE Purpose Call!- FREE GIFT: NYT BESTSELLER TAMARA LOWE'S BOOK “ON PURPOSE” - https://www.onpurposebook.com/free-ebook46807388Connect with The Kingdom Builders: Website - https://www.kingdombuilders.academy/Facebook - https://web.facebook.com/sz.lowe/Facebook Group - https://web.facebook.com/groups/kingdombuildersacademyLinkedIn -
