Did your foundation dye in color? Maybe it’s time we repair the lenses through which we perceive our little world. In PART II, Josh further breaks down the divide created between fellow American citizens—a well-played and powerful division tactic to keep the enemy out of sight and in control of our lives. Can we open our eyes and see the depth, the facts, the context, and the truth? I believe, one day, we can all experience reality.   NOTES: This podcast uses these sounds from freesound: Sound 1 by deleted_user_96253 (https://freesound.org/s/351304/) Intro/Outro Bumper Music: Evening Melodrama Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/ The Wisdom of Dad Joke Music: The Curtain Rises Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/

Is your world colored in either Red or Blue? Are we falling for another division tactic by the enemy? Listen, while Josh explains how color is often used to divide us and corrupt our perception of ourselves and our world. Hear how he incorporates a personal story of watching John Wayne with our chosen rose-colored glasses.   The good journey is just as important as a righteous end. Will we continue to be divided by color, or will we be united in our depth of reality, seeking a land of prosperity and freedom for our fellow citizen? This episode of the podcast features Part 2 of the Flipping Florida Series with Dr. Fergie Reid, Jr. Dr. Reid talks about the strategy for flipping the state and its 29 electoral college votes blue, based on the work spearheaded by him and his father in Virginia, helping to flip that state in 2019. He explains the simple and intuitive concept, which is to register more voters and run candidates in every race, and why this strategy has been historically underutilized by Democrats. We talk about how Florida is ripe for the picking, with its many races in red districts uncontested by Democrats, and how Texas, Georgia and North Carolina are not far behind. And he speaks about the civil rights work of his father, Dr. Fergie Reid Sr. who ultimately became the first African American member of the Virginia state legislature since Reconstruction. BTS Show Notes Episode 1 Part 1 Mat Meadows    In our very first Beneath the Surface podcast we had the pleasure of speaking with Mat Meadows,  lead singer of the rock / metal band Blackend Blue. I had met Mat this summer in Buffalo, NY when his band opened for Red Handed Denial. I was very impressed with his band. A few months later, I was able to catch up with him.    Podcast Summary: Mat grew up in Charlotte, South Carolina and was into Pop Punk/ Punk Rock.  Growing up in Angola, NY the other members (Bob, Nate and Phil) started the band in the early 2000’s and Mat joined later.  Bob and Nate met Mat through work. A power company where they work on high voltage lines.  How Metallica is a big influence on the bands sound and how they got there name.  Dream Theater, Slayer, Randy Blythe, Howard Jones and Megadeth has also had music influence on them.  New recordings of songs coming in the future.  Mat’s pet peeves on writing.  At the age of 19 Mat enlisted in the Marines.  He is a big mental health advocate and went in-depth with his struggles with mental health.   Exclusive part of the interview that will never be public. You can only hear it here. Sign up for our newsletter and get this exclusive interview bonus footage, and free Downloadable PDF’s that everyone should have.    Newsletter Link thebrunchboxfoodtruck.com      Being a father of three, a husband, a power line worker and a lead singer of a band he has a lot of stuff going on.
