From multiple WNBA championships to 3x AFLW flags, including a couple of league BnF's, Erin has one of the most impressive resumes you'll come across. We covered the business of the WNBA and how it differs to sport in Australia, plus the emotional rollercoaster of going through IVF and how it impacts both males and females on all levels. We start today with feedback on our bonus pod on the 1998 Presidents Cup. If you didn't hear it, it's here. Marko's phone has exploded with calls and messages, as has our socials and emails. Marko had a close run-in with a mate of the 'offender' who it turns out is yet to hear that the story is out.Ox is renovating a house and has been burgled. He knows who the person is, due to his ring cam. However, you won't believe what the bloke pinched from Ox's front yard - some things to be expected, others a surprise. When it happened, Ox was away at a wedding, and something went wrong with certain animals at the wedding at a point where they were intended to represent love and romance. Raises a business idea from Ox and Marko, which may or may not be workable. Ox then has another business idea to do with drones. And we have an update on Darren the Bankers business idea: a slogan from family member Malcolm which may just one-up Ox's slogan.Back to weddings. Marko tells a story about a wedding he went to in the US years ago, where the 'you may kiss the bride' moment went a bit next level to the horror of the family (and Marko!). Ox and Marko both feel tongue-pashing at a wedding is only suitable if you're getting married in Vegas.Third Man raises some civil selfishness that he wants input from Ox and Marko on, to do with the price of beer at pubs. We are all in vigorous agreement that beer prices are outrageous. $15 for a pint of Carlton Draught. Your thoughts?Marko has a message from his mate Brent who is in Adelaide on holidays and has seen a basketball hoop at a local park that he loves. Ox is unhappy with Brent who is spamming his mates with too many pics of his holiday. Ox believes that they can't be friends anymore and that Brent is a wanker. This does bring up a business idea. Which Ox and Marko reckon has legs. Being an 'anti-influencer' posting only bad things that happen to you.Voicemail from Andrew on the Corio Roadhouse, which Ox raved about last week. Lots of feedback. Ox tells a story about Gary Ablett Snr going to the Corio Roadhouse, Marko follows up with another Ablett Snr story. There has been debate over the slang term Sanga vs Sambo, and Potato Cake vs Scallop. Ox sees this as an opportunity to bag Third Man's hometown, Wollongong. We chat about the brilliant new Kia ad here.A family member wants Ox to be put on probation over his caddyshack comments, Marko gives a great bit of trivia about Caddyshack which blows us all away. And the show ends on a low note with some appalling dolphin jokes. As always, we're here thanks to Paul & Kurt at the E&S Trading Clearance Centre in Clayton, Melbourne on Dandenong Road - right opposite Ikea. After an incredible deal on amazing gear? You won't believe the prices....absolute rippers! We'd love you to follow a Couple of Blokes, and get involved with the show on social media: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok. If you've got a comment or feedback, feel free to send a voicemail to Ox and Marko here. And don't forget to subscribe, rate and review the podcast wherever you listen! Hosted on Acast. There's a new film called ‘Uproar' that comes out in Australia this week, it stars Julian Dennison, Minnie Driver and the exquisite Rhys Darby. Set around the 1981 springbok tour of NZ, it's as hilarious as it is staggering in how powerfully it tells the story of a kid trying to figure out who they are, at the same time as a community trying to figure out who they are - and indeed the start of a whole country trying to figure out who they are. What is wonderful about this film is that it is based on a true story. The life story of the brilliant director Paul Middleditch. Paul has been on the show before - he's the absolute genius behind the kind of commercials that you never ever forget, the brilliant series of ads for Australian Lamb the unforgettable commercials for Carlton Draught (including one which involved hundreds of extras charging across a field towards each other) and the hands-down classic Yellow Pages campaign with the immortal line “Not Happy Jan”. What makes this film even more unique is that while Paul is directing a film that he literally lived, the screenplay was written by his extraordinarily talented wife, the acclaimed writer and director Sonia Whiteman. Now as I mention in this episode - it's rare that my wife and I can build something from Ikea without getting shitty with each other. And here is a couple who've been together for 23 years, with a beautiful family, managing to take an idea from inception to pitch to production - and they're still together. The film is magnificent. I cried twice, Audrey cried about five times. But how these two work together and the way they speak about each other - that's proper couple goals. I adore these two humans. I can't wait for you to get to know them. Davydd is joined by wrestling legends "The Hipster Heartthrob" Casanova Valentine and "The Smash Hit" Joel Bateman to discuss the wonderful world of wrestling, their favourite beers and bars and perhaps the most tragically romantic event that we've heard of occurring in a cool room. What's it like to work at New York's famous Other Half Brewing, do deathmatch wrestlers like penguins and what will Casanova think of his first ever Carlton Draught? If you enjoy this episode you can hear "part two" of the interview by listen to our friends over at "On the Turnbuckle" as they continue the conversation with these two great guests!
For the four years we lived in Richmond, we lived in the shadow of the London Tavern, an old school pub full of character and charm. Great beers, decent food, a lovely beer garden, and just a few steps down the street from where we lived. We got to know it very well. Settling in to South Yarra, we have yet to settle on a place that we can call our own to such an extent. There are plenty to choose from, from traditional to stylish to upmarket to wowzers, and perhaps it is the incredible range of choice that has led us to be unable to pick a new favourite. The London, for all of its faults, was really our only choice and so we loved it, flaws and all. This mix was recorded live on the Saturday night before my birthday, having returned from a celebratory dinner at one of the many local options. An unassuming place with a French name and a Carlton Draught beer sign lit up on the roof, it is mix between gastropub and fine dining, and it was a great place to ring in a quiet birthday celebration. I suspect we will be back there many more times in the months and years to come.

We return to the DC cinematic universe for a look at the rather shambolic, though not a total write-off, JUSTICE LEAGUE. I think I may have forgotten to give a rating actually. It's a Schooner of Carlton Draught for this one. Ratings System: Longneck of Melbourne Bitter - an excellent film. Sublimely entertaining, meaningful or both. Pint of Kilkenny - a very good, highly recommended film. Stubby of Reschs - a good film and worth your time. Schooner of Carlton Draught - Not great aye. But perhaps an interesting idea or two. Schooner of Tooheys New - Shithouse

Then, keeping with the festival theme we hear from Corey Crooks all about this year's Newcastle Craft Beer Week, as well as the Albion Hotel's progress at kicking mainstream beers out of the hotel. Date claimers: Sydney Craft Beer Week - October 20 - 28 Newcastle Craft Beer Week - November 18 - 25 Matt and Pete also talk about the new Carlton Draught campaign and discuss all things beer in general. This week Matt & Pete chat with parallel beer importer, Sean Neylon, who runs the website saveonliquor.com.au and have a robust discussion about the ins-and-outs of importing international beer through secondary channels. In the intro we talk about about Pete's visit to the Wheaty for the Beer Wars screening, Carlton Draught's 'The Publican' campaign, and discuss why there are always four blokes in a boat in beer commercials.
