I'm a member of EO. That's Entrepreneur's Organization, it's a global organization of entrepreneurs. And one of the things that they talk about in EO all the time is getting unstuck and working on your business instead of in your business. There are just countless entrepreneurs right now who are just running on that hamster wheel. They just can't find a groove. To talk about that today, David Chavez, he's with a Assured Strategy.

You might not worry about vendors until one day your production line stops because you didn't realize that you had a single point of failure with your processes. You might also make a strategic choice to simplify your processes by choosing just one vendor for most of your components. But while you might not have issues as of today as you may have had reliable vendors supporting you for a long time, it doesn't mean that you will never face issues because of a single source of supply. What if the vendor gets acquired? Or they have management changes that might not provide the same service levels that you expect. In today's episode, our guest, David Chavez, shares the nuances of outsourced contract manufacturing. He also discusses several stories where the outsourced vendor processes and supply chain were a major cause for production breakdown and significant financial loss and missed opportunities. Finally, he discusses the process for evaluating global vendors and how to ensure that they are not retaining control that could be a financial risk to your business. For more information on growth strategies for SMBs using ERP and digital transformation, visit our community at wbs.rocks or elevatiq.com. La frontera nos divide, pero la tierra nos une. (The border divides us, but the land unites us.) We may not be a nation of immigrants (listen to Forum guest and historian Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz discuss her book of that title on September 29, 2021), but immigration continues to impact us all. Natural disasters, war, corruption and oppression continue to drive migrants' continued pursuit for an opportunity to live with a sense of dignity and hope for a future. Under the Biden administration, there have been policy changes that have been welcomed by immigrant advocates. At the same time, migrants seeking asylum have overwhelmed the federal system for processing them, including thousands of unaccompanied minors. What is life like on the border today? What can and should be done about this humanitarian crisis? The Rev. Canon David Chavez has spent nearly all his life breathing in the culture, customs and geography of the United States' southern border, from his childhood in the 1980s growing up between border communities in Arizona and California to his current role as the Diocese of Arizona's Canon for Border Ministries. Each year the cathedral chooses a theme for inspiration and reflection, and in 2021 our theme is healing. Join Dean Malcolm Clemens Young for a conversation with Rev. Chavez about how to heal the divides our borders cause, and rediscover what unites us. You can help us bring the arts to life at Grace with a gift today to The Forum. Click here to give or text Think to 76278. About the guest The Rev. Canon David Chavez serves as Canon for Border Ministries for the Episcopal Diocese of Arizona. A native of Arizona, Padre David was raised in both Arizona and southern California. A graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary (MDiv. 2004, ThM. 2005), Fr. David is a member of the Association for Borderland Studies, and serves the wider church as a member of the council of advice for the Hispanic/Latino Ministries and as a member of the Mexico Covenant Committee. A proud father of two amazing boys and an avid reader (mostly philosophy and cozy mysteries), Fr. David also enjoys playing alto saxophone and hiking. About the host The Very Rev. Dr. Malcolm Clemens Young is the dean of Grace Cathedral. He is the author of The Spiritual Journal of Henry David Thoreau and The Invisible Hand in Wilderness: Economics, Ecology, and God, and is a regular contributor on religion to the Huffington Post and San Francisco Examiner. About The Forum The Forum is a series of stimulating conversations about faith and ethics in relation to the important issues of our day. We invite inspiring and illustrious people to sit down for a real conversation with the Forum's host, Malcolm Clemens Young, the dean of Grace Cathedral, and with you. Our guests range from artists, inventors and philosophers to pop culturists and elected officials, but the point of The Forum is singular: civil, sophisticated discourse that engages minds and hearts to think in new ways about the world. In this episode of Warm Regards, we talk to two Indigenous scientists about traditional ecological knowledges and their relationship with climate and environmental data. In talking with James Rattling Leaf, Sr. and Krystal Tsosie, Jacquelyn and Ramesh discuss how these ideas can challenge Western notions of relationality and ownership, how they have been subject to the long history of extraction and exploitation of Indigenous communities (practices which continue today), but also how Indigenous scientists and activists link sovereignty over data created by and for Indigenous people to larger sovereignty demands. At the end of your podcasts, you ask your listeners to contact the bands and let them know you heard them on your show. I dropped an email to Larry of Black 47, telling him such and that I bought their album because of it. I got a lovely email back from him thanking me. So yes, the bands do appreciate it!" I would like to start by congratulating you for the awesome show and work. I've been a fan and donator for some time now. Cheers from Mexico City!" Victoria Mathis posted on Facebook: "Hello, I just wanted to answer your request for messages tonight. You are my favorite evening Irish and Celtic music channel on Roku. The music you play often reminds me of my Irish Grandmother who would sing many family songs, some were great old drinking tunes too. My very Scottish Grandfather would laugh along to her funny songs and play his auto harp. We would sing with them and laugh with the funny songs drinking our root beer ice cream floats while the adults enjoyed their beverages too. I miss those days while I still enjoy doing the exact same traditions with my modern era family. Keep up the awesome work, you remind me of the words of a forgotten song at least once a night."
