La propia Escuela Técnica Superior de Edificación de la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid destaca esta elección por ser una carrera con nota accesible (entre el 5 y el 9 dependiendo de la universidad), por tener sueldos por encima de la media y por su alto nivel de empleo. Según los últimos datos sobre la evolución laboral de los graduados universitarios publicados por el Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades, los titulados en Arquitectura Técnica y Edificación alcanzan una base media de cotización de 34.341 euros apenas cuatro años después de terminar la carrera. Una cantidad que supera incluso la de quienes estudian Fundamentos de Arquitectura (29.932 euros). Además, se sitúa por encima de la media salarial de los graduados universitarios españoles, que es de 32.218 euros. Algo posible gracias a la alta demanda de arquitectos técnicos y aparejadores por parte de diversos ámbitos relacionados con la construcción. He received his BA in Fine Arts from Muhlenberg College and his MFA in Painting from the University of Pennsylvania.He has exhibited widely over the past four decades, including solo exhibitions at the New Jersey State Museum, where he was the subject of a mid-career retrospective, as well as Gold/Scopophilia in Montclair and Tibor de Nagy in New York. His work has also been included in group exhibitions at Pierogi and Kentler International Drawing Space in Brooklyn, among many others, and is held in public collections including the Library of Congress. Ambrose is the recipient of multiple fellowships from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, most recently in 2022 to 2023. He has also taught at institutions including Parsons, Pratt, and the Fashion Institute of Technology.I sat down with David in his New Jersey studio last month and we discussed the surface of a painting, building paintings, building objects, planning for abstraction, materials and pigments, damage and repair, crosshatching, carving, and the use of non-traditional tools. Your Stupid Minds is back! Chuck Norris uses his iron leg to battle ninjas, mercenaries, and deceptive women in the low budget classic The Octagon! Strap yourself in for the best approximation of the plot we could put together. Scott James (Chuck Norris) is a famous martial artist who has a secret past as a ninja. Or just trained as a ninja. He has an evil Japanese brother Seikura (Tadashi Yamashita) who got kicked out of ninja school and is now training terrorists against their will in the art of ninja. Scott goes on a date with a woman and she's killed by ninjas. He goes on a quest to find the ninjas and his evil brother. Meanwhile his misogynist friend A.J. (Art Hindle) is desperately searching for a reason for his character to be in this movie. He's horning in on Scott's dates and swearing revenge on ninjas for the flimsiest of reasons. Scott visits McCarn (Lee Van Cleef) a murderous mercenary, but a good one. Scott uses him to try to find Doggo (Kurt Grayson) who has some connection to the ninjas. Scott tries to become a mercenary but fails. Luckily that dangling plotline is recovered when Doggo tries to kill him. Scott finds another beautiful woman on the side of the road, Justine Wentworth (Karen Carlson). Scott has a structured settlement and he needs cash now, so this is the perfect woman for him. He helps Justine with her car and she tries to seduce him but he's too cool. She's also trying to betray him, or trick him, or something? Anyway, A.J. dates her for a while and then she's killed by ninjas. A.J. swears revenge on the ninjas but then is kidnapped by the ninjas. Scott finds a third woman who is ninja proof and they're off to kill the ninjas. He does so and saves A.J. By the way, the Octagon is some sort of obstacle course with ninjas in it. There's also some guy named Tibor but I forget what he does aside from sell furs.

Schon in jungen Jahren besaß er einen ausgeprägten Gerechtigkeitssinn, der sich während der Revolution von 1956 zeigte: Als 15-Jähriger nahm er an den Kämpfen am Gebäude des Ungarischen Rundfunks und in Kőbánya teil. Nach der Niederschlagung der Revolution floh er im Januar 1957 nach Österreich, wo er seine Schulausbildung am Flüchtlingsgymnasium in Kammer am Attersee fortsetzte. Dort schloss er sich der ungarischen Pfadfinderbewegung im Ausland an und erhielt damals den Spitznamen „Puma“. 1965 erwarb er mit einem Stipendium der Vereinten Nationen in Wien einen Abschluss als Betriebsingenieur. Im Laufe seiner Karriere arbeitete er als Servicetechniker und später als Handelsvertreter für medizinische und nukleare Messgeräte. Er beteiligte sich aktiv am Leben der ungarischen Gemeinschaft in Österreich: Er war Mitglied der Redaktion des „Bécsi Napló“, leitete die Katholische Ungarische Intellektuellenbewegung (KMÉM) und war bis 2006 als Medienbeauftragter des Zentralverbands der ungarischen Vereine und Organisationen in Österreich tätig. Später war er an der Gründung des Runden Tisches der ungarischen Organisationen in Österreich beteiligt und ist seit 2015 Vertreter der römisch-katholischen Gemeinde in Wien.

This time, I'm joined by Chilean architect and historian Daniel Talesnik to explore the story of a remarkable group of Bauhaus students—through the life of one of them: Tibor Weiner. Weiner was part of the circle around Hannes Meyer, the second director of the Bauhaus—a group often referred to as the “Red Bauhaus Brigade.” After Meyer's dismissal in 1930, he relocated to the Soviet Union, and a number of his students followed, hoping to continue their work and ideals abroad. In our conversation, Daniel traces what he calls the “Itinerant Red Bauhaus" or "The Third Emigration,” following these architects as their paths diverged across the Soviet Union, and beyond. At the center is Weiner's own journey—from Moscow to Paris, on to Chile, and eventually back to his home Hungary after the Second World War. His story reflects the broader reality many of them faced: architecture not just as a discipline, but as a means of survival in a century marked by political upheaval.
