Thank You! A lot of amazing people and places made the Full Belly Laughs Podcast possible, and also just made Brian Durkin a better comedian and person. Thank You, Creators Rob Zawatski, Dena Miranda, and Steve from Bridgeset Sound really helped shape the show you heard every week. Steve helped equip Brian with his current podcast gear, to make the show sound great. Dena Miranda laid down the vocals for the opening theme, and Rob helped produce and record that theme. Rob also encouraged Brian to check out podcasting, and without that nudge, none of this stuff would have happened. Thank you to Steve, Dena, and Rob. Thank You, Guests So many guests over the years made the Full Belly Laughs Podcast something special, but a few people really made the show awesome. Thank you to Megan Goetz, Ben Farrell, Joe Messina, Max Barth, Christian Mangual, and Greg Trout for their contributions to the podcast. These reoccurring guests helped shape the tone of the show, and these people really helped out Brian when another guest would cancel. They were always excited to do the podcast, and Brian is so grateful for their talent and time. Thank you to Meg, Ben, Joe, Max, Christian, and Greg. Thank You, Entities There are two venues/events that really allowed the FBL Podcast and Brian to grow. Than you to the Philly Improv Theater and the Philadelphia Podcast Festival. Without the experience of performing live at these theaters and events, the show would not be as good; Brian also grew faster as a comedian and performer thanks to these opportunities. Thank you, PHIT and PPF. Thank You, Friends and Fam There are a few people close to Brian that really supported the podcast. Special thank you to Alex Colic and Richard Chin for being supportive friends. They helped build up engagement on social media, attended live shows, and even guested on the podcast. Special thank you to Hugh Durkin (Brian's dad). He's been a big supporter of Brian's creative endeavors, and it means a lot. Finally, the closing thank you goes to Lauren Daniels. She is the #1 fan of Full Belly Laughs, inspiring Brian to always make the show entertaining. She has also encouraged Brian on his development, and she continues to be a beacon of light for his spiritual and personal growth. Thank you Alex and Rich. Thank you, Dad. Thank you, Lauren. How To Order Calories at Ruby's Diner First and foremost you will need a big appetite, money in the bank, and plenty of time to eat. Also having a Ruby's Diner near you is helpful. The magic number of 69,420 calories in one order comes from a special combination of 73 menu items. You'll need to average about 3 of each breakfast, and double of most sandwiches and entrees. Just one of each of the salads, since they don't really add much besides more chewing. If you have someone cut up the salads with scissors to do some pre-chewing for you, then it might be worth; however, deviating from this list could mess up the math. Be Here Now It's the quintessential work of spiritual guru Ram Dass. It's also the sentiment of our poll, and why Domino's is the winner. People want their food delivered fast. Also the love for Pizza Hut relied on nostalgia, but when you factor in what you would eat today for lunch, it was not the Hut. People did believe that Pizza Hut did win in the flavor department, but it didn't win by enough for most to really care. Many people just see Domino's since it has more locations, and just call them (assuming they don't just order from a real and local pizza shop). The #FBLRecommendation this week is Futurama TV 25. Blood Is Thickest When Choosing a Winner In one of the biggest landslides in FBL poll history, Olive Garden dominated Applebee's. Unlimited breadsticks and soup/salad is just too powerful. The Winner Is Basic Overall the listeners voted for vanilla the most, but that statement should have an asterisk. Many fans voted vanilla only because it is the best palette for adding toppings, so it's not truly their favorite flavor. Several voters even highlighted that with no toppings, vanilla would not be their favorite. Pistachio and Butter Pecan actually tied for second in mentions. In general, it does appear that more muted flavors won out. Overall in our poll, no one really choose anything heavy on the chocolate. There was also a strong showing for nuts in the ice cream flavor or as a topping. The #FBLRecommendation this week is Miskif. Did you enjoy our coverage of the Declinism? Wendy's Dominates Once Again Our poll demonstrated that people really care a corporation's values. Since Chick-fil-a has openly donated funds to some heinous organizations that spread hate, CFA got slammed in our polls. Wendy's has been under fire for things before, but the same evidence doesn't exist against the Sassy Twitter Clapbacker as does the cows with their broken English. Also many commentors spoke up against the waffle fries, and championed Wendy's for a better spicy chicken sandwich. If Chick-fil-a can't care for all humans plus lose a chicken category, then it's an easy win for Wendy's. The #FBLRecommendation this week is Chillhop Radio. How To Find Your Favorite Cereal When it comes to cereals, there are countless ones to choose from. Years ago we made an attempt to rank the best cereals, but at the end of the day it's about personal preferences. The first question you need to ask yourself: "How much sugar do you want?" Some people go HAM with the sugar, others save the sugar for their coffee and eat boring cereals. Next up is asking yourself "how fast do I eat cereal?" If you are a slow eater, you'll need cereal with integrity: it doesn't get soggy quickly. The final round of cereal decision making centers around function and nostalgia. Sometimes we can't say no to that cereal we ate as a kid, or wished we could eat and now can buy as an adult. When it comes to function, it's about your diet. Do you need protein? Are are your poops? Do you need cereal to help you pushing out some turds? These are the main questions a consumer needs to consider after factoring in nostalgia, sugar, and cereal integrity. But then they started to think about the question more. When asked to pick one and only one forever, many people realized they needed the funk of vinegar. It's just too unique and awesome. Besides helping deglaze a pan, it's also got plenty of applications outside of cooking. Oil, although amazing, is not as versatile as vinegar. After reviewing the results, the people have chosen vinegar. The #FBLRecommendation this week is Dominique and Pat George. Check out their podcast The Gross Domesticated Podcast. The People Have Spoken: Appetizers Are Better Than Desserts The opinions expressed in this poll were intense, but at the end of the day more people voted appetizers than desserts. Our fans value the versatility that comes with appetizers. The fact that a collection of them can substitute as the main course, and the wide range of options, really put apps over the top. Desserts can be delight and beautiful, but being relegated to only tasting sweet really limits this category. Also many voters admitted to not being able to leave room for dessert, whereas they always prioritize ordering apps. Our Top Kitchen Gadgets and Appliances The fans of The FBL Podcast have spoken. Real talk, the refrigerator is obvious the best kitchen appliance; however, it's unfair to really count it. Assuming that the fridge is S Tier and not necessary to list, crock pots and air fryers took the cake on our poll. People love to set it and forget it, or get frying at home with less oil. Leafy Greens Ranked We polled our fans and comedian friends, and asked them to tell us about their favorite leafy greens. The results will probably surprise you. Here is the list of the most popular leafy greens: : Arugula, Dandelion, Iceberg lettuce, Broccoli rabe, Cannibis, Spinach, Kale, Romaine, . Any other leafy green did not get enough votes to make the list above. Arugula had the most representation and diverse points for fans loving it. The surprise hit from the poll was dandelions. Several people touted them as a perfect Broccoli rabe substitute. Considering it's April, and we did record this episode on 4/20, cannibis had a solid turn out from voters. All the salad haters gave iceberg lettuce their support, since it's great at carrying bacon and bleu cheese dressing. The #FBLRecommendation this week is All Fantasy Everything. Home Cooked Meals Are Unique To Everyone When we polled our audience to discuss their favorite home cooked meals, it became obvious that everyone's upbringing is different. People come from different background, and that influences the food they eat. The beauty about your favorite home cooked meal is that it's not a contest. There is no best, there's just your favorite. Someone might really enjoy pig ears, but if you didn't grow up on that, then you can't appreciate it the way that person does. When someone talks about their favorite home cooked meal, it's really showcasing a bit of their history and personality, and that's pretty cool. Home Cooked Meals Are Hearty When it comes to a common theme between different home cooked meals, the consensus is that they provide a hearty feeling. Meatloaf, pot roast, fried chicken, creamed chip beef, etc. etc. all leave your insides feeling warm. Something about these types of meals from childhood make you feel like a fireplace is near by, because that's the level of comfort the memory provides. What's In Your Fridge?

What To Keep In Your Fridge Ideally it would be food items you enjoy, and would want to consume. This isn't true for everyone though, so you could go the other route: buy things, put them in your fridge, and then throw them out at a later day once they expire. The former method, the one where you buy and use the stuff as intended, is our recommendation. It's also what most people do, which is good (we at least hope most people do this stuff). As far as what to keep, it really comes down to personal preference. If you eat a lot of homemade meals, then something like milk could be essential. If you eat out a lot, then milk will probably go bad. Do an inventory of how often you raid your fridge, and stock it accordingly. What Do People Love To Keep In Their Fridge And Why According to our poll, these are the items people keep in stock the most: : Hot Sauce, Milk, Pickles, Ketchup, Air, Beer, . People enjoyed hot sauce because of the versatility. Milk was a close second, but only because many voters enjoyed baking or cereal. Next up was pickles from the sandwich lovers, followed closely by ketchup. Air was probably the funniest answer we received. For the drinkers, beer makes so much sense (and honestly is the real number one answer if people thought outside the box). The #FBLRecommendation this week is Will Schroder. Fan Favorite Pizza Toppings We polled our audience, and they did not disappoint. According to our poll, these are the top pizza toppings: : Pepperoni, Extra Cheese, Sausage, Mushrooms, Pineapple, Pineapple juice, Green peppers, Onions, . Honorable mentions include meatballs, bacon, broccoli, and feta cheese. Best Pizza Toppings There's no denying the power of extra cheese and pepperoni. These are the most people toppings. Pepperoni also feels the most "pizza" of all the toppings. There's a reason we say "a pizza with mushrooms" and "a pepperoni pizza"; pepperoni is just synonymous with pizza. It's hard to imagine a pizza party that doesn't include an order of pepperoni pizza. For our money, either pepperoni or extra cheese are the safest picks from any pizza shop. If you have a solid mom and pop establishment near you, then you will want to be a bit more adventurous with your toppings. This is when pepperoni or extra cheese are not best, because these artisan establishments can do so much more with other ingredients. Come combinations to try: : Meatball parm (meatball slices with your favorite cheese on top), Green pepper, Onion, and salami on a white pie with ricotta, Bacon and pineapple (the bacon enhances the pie with its added crunch and saltiness), Whatever the person paying wants (let's be real, free pizza can have any topping), . Top Ranked Canned Food There is a wide range of canned foods to choose from. It really depends on your preference and upbringing. Most of the people in our social media poll chose Chef Boyardee products, because of the nostalgia factor. Many contributors to the poll nominated niche products, like particular banned of canned tuna or fried rice. The best suggestion from a comedy perspective was the canned sandwiches. That's right. You can get a PB&J or a honey BBQ chicken sandwich right out of a can! Quite a beautiful world we live in. Here's a quick list of the top ranked canned foods from our poll: : Chef Boyardee, SpagettiOs, Tuna, Beans, Tomatoes, Pineapples, Beer, . For real, beer is an amazing answer to this poll.
