From the desolate depths of homelessness to the dazzling heights of celebrity training, our guest, Jay Cardiello, has lived a life that is nothing short of extraordinary. An unfortunate injury during his track and field practice left him with a broken spine, propelling him into an abyss of pain and depression. But Jay, with the audacity of hope and resilience, turned his life around, becoming a sought-after coach in sports leagues such as the NFL and Major League Baseball, and then also later worked with some of the biggest names in entertainment such as 50 Cent, JLO, Rami Malek and Sofia Vergara.Jay's story is not just about surmounting adversity; it's a profound exploration of how he found strength, purpose, and faith in the darkest chapters of his life. After enduring the heartbreak of divorce and the struggle of homelessness, Jay discovered solace in his relationship with God and his father's wisdom. His journey stands as a beacon of hope, demonstrating the transformative power of faith, resilience, and determination. Although Jay is TEDx speaker and has authored two best-selling wellness books, perhaps the most interesting part of Jay's story is his experiences with ketamine treatment to make peace with his experiences of sexual abuse. The openness with which he discusses these traumas offers a sense of courage and inspiration to those grappling with similar challenges. Indeed, his story is a testament to the human spirit's ability to overcome even the most formidable obstacles. As he shares his greatest achievement, we learn that our past traumas do not define us; instead, they serve as stepping stones, guiding us on our path to becoming the best versions of ourselves.Chapters0:00 Episode Preview0:23 Episode Introduction1:16 From Homeless to Celebrity Trainer4:30 Finding Faith and Overcoming Hardship13:59 Resilience, Legacy, and Personal Growth17:33 Morning Rituals and Overcoming Trauma19:59 Mindset and Personal Growth29:37 Celebrities and Athletes With A Focus on Personal Discipline and Consistency33:57 Leaving a Legacy35:51 Ketamine Use for Mental Health Treatment and Personal Growth38:21 Overcoming Trauma and Finding Inspiration38:57 Ketamine Therapy for Depression and Trauma42:29 Overcoming Adversity and Building Resilience44:42 Recognizing the Wins46:35 Final Words47:50 EpisodeSupport the showVisit our websiteFollow us on InstagramListen on your favorite podcast platform Like this show? I don't know anyone who has made it through the past few years unscathed. But can we really program our nervous systems and brains after trauma? The answer is unequivocally yes. And the methods we'll be discussing today may surprise you. Whether you're easing anxiety through a strength training program or reversing PTSD by playing video games in multi-sensory virtual reality with Smell-O-Vision, it feels like we're suddenly living in the future. It's been an interesting few weeks here at Fat-Burning Man headquarters. We're doing a bunch of challenges, we have moved back to Texas and our internet is almost ready to go. And since it's a New Year, I'm going to sit down and do this solo episode because we've had a lot of great questions come in recently. If you have a question for me or for my wife Alyson, the best way to get in touch, as always, is to sign up for our free newsletter, and then just reply to any of my emails. I'll be tackling these here today, and also never fear, we're not changing the format of the show or anything. We do have a lot of interviews coming up soon, including some with fan favorites, like Dr. William Davis and Jay Cardiello, as well as many more surprises. But if you're looking for a solid strategy to keep your habits steady, whether you're working professional, busy mother or desk jockey, this is the show for you. Today, I'm answering your questions about: • Healthy movement and eating tips for desk jockeys • How to last as an online creator for over 10+ years • What to do when you're struggling with sugar and not satisfied • Strategy to keep your habits steady by indulging in a “free” meal • What to do when you find a hidden source of MSG in a favorite food • How to kick your soda habit with a fizzy beverage swap • Thoughts on energy drinks and caffeine pills • And tons more… Read the show notes: https://fatburningman.com/how-to-handle-hidden-msg-soda-addiction-and-free-meals-solo-show-with-abel/ Join The Wild Guild and get freebies on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/abeljames Like the show on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/fatburningman Follow me on Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/fatburnman Click here for your free Fat-Burning Kit: http://fatburningman.com/bonus

On today's episode, Jay Cardiello is joined by model, fitness competitor, blogger, and legend of the WCW and WWE, Torrie Wilson. On today's show, she tells us what it was like working in such a high-energy industry and how she “learned the ropes” despite not watching much professional wrestling as a kid. She tells us the harrowing story of the injury that forced her into retirement and who she would hypothetically wrestle if she ever returned to the squared circle. Torrie gives advice for people struggling with anxiety and details the breathing exercises that helped her cope with the stress of the ring. Wrestling is by no means an easy career and Torrie walks us through how traveling made the work especially difficult. Plus, how she managed to overcome and deal with many of her personal struggles and her story of personal strength that led to her eventually being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.  Follow Us: MuscleTech: IG - @muscletech Twitter - @MuscleTechJay Cardiello: IG - @jaycardiello Twitter - @JayCardiello Presented by MuscleTech www.muscletech.com

We are all athletes and as such, we train, set goals, compete and go through situations that lead us to doubt whether to continue on our way or not, as in every process there are ups and downs, but it is up to you to make the decision to continue and achieve everything you dreamed of. To do this, you must be aware that you need to recharge your energy and this is achieved through the time you invest in yourself. This is a concept that many qualify as selfish and the truth is that today we forget to dedicate that space to ourselves in the day. We all need moments of solitude to reconnect with ourselves, with our true essence, in this time you can do whatever you want, there is no magic formula. Practice your favorite sport, read a book, go swimming, do what your body and heart tell you and you will gradually find a better version of yourself with which you will feel happy and that you can offer to others. If you don't invest time in yourself, how will you be able to invest time in others? If you don't condition yourself, how will you be able to condition others? Never give yourself the opportunity to ask What if ... Try new things, take risks and gain wisdom about the experiences that come from them. Help others as if it were an extension of yourself. Give your neighbor the best you can offer, treat them as you would like to be treated, with love and patience. Last but not least, it is to be really grateful with God, with the universe for all those things that you have learned, that you have lived, in which you have been successful and in which you have not, because of them you have learned and grown. These are the tips that Jay Cardiello leaves us in this episode of the Resilient Minds Podcast. Jay Cardiello, an entrepreneur in the Health & Wellness Space, a former writer for Verywell Fit covering men's health and general fitness. For 10-years he served as a professional coach in such sports leagues as the NFL and MLB, and today has worked with some of the biggest names in entertainment such as 50 Cent, JLO, Rami Malek, and Sofia Vergara. He is a TEDx speaker, has authored two best-selling wellness books, co-starred in the ABC Television production My Diet is Better Than Yours, and most recently developed a 12-Week Behavioral Intervention Program designed to treat addiction, PTSD, and obesity. If you want to break down that false belief about investing time in ourselves, stay until the end of this podcast and remember: "Never give yourself the opportunity to ask what if" - Jay Cardiello In this episode we explore: •How to be really grateful about your experiences •How to invest time in yourself wisely •How to tame your tongue •How to make changes in your life strategy Connect with Greg Rollet: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jaycardiello/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100006604935105 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jay-cardiello-aa7153198/ Youtube:https://www.youtube.com/user/jaycardio Website: https://www.jaycardiello.com/ Hit me up on social media and say hi!
