The movie kicks off with great animation, and that's how you know you're dealing with a heavy-hitter flick. We meet Avery, a school teacher who makes toddlers give speeches about Christmas ornaments. She loves crossword puzzles and juice boxes. While she's in the teacher's lounge, other teachers keep congratulating her, but she has no idea why. Her best friend Ruby explains that she signed her up to be a competitor on The Great Holiday Dash, something that is definitely NOT The Amazing Race. Avery is not thrilled.Cut to Andrew Walker, selling juice—a real stretch for my boy AW. His character's name is Wes, a retired professional athlete looking for his next big thing, and it turns out that next big thing is The Great Holiday Dash.Avery thinks it over and realizes it could be a great way to bring attention to her school and maybe even get some extra funding. So she starts training, even though she's never done anything like this before. She ends up meeting Wes at the gym, and it does not go well. Classic treadmill situation. The competition begins, and Wes is shocked to see Avery from the gym there. The game is simple: there's one silver bell hidden somewhere in America. The first one to find it wins. But this year, the contestants won't compete individually—they'll team up in pairs. Naturally, Avery and Wes are teamed up. The game kicks off with one team being eliminated after the first round. Luckily, Avery and Wes crack enough nuts to move on to the second round, which takes them to Boston. The next game involves shooting pucks, which works great for Wes.Producer Dirk pulls Wes aside and tells him to flirt more with Avery for the ratings—“Wes, you're the star! A little flirting will really boost the numbers.” That night, Wes and Avery actually connect. Gotta hate when that happens. The next day, they head to New York City for a window display competition. Instead of immediately diving into the task, they spend more time talking and getting to know each other. Their theme is “Three French Hens,” so they go with a French theme for their display, and it looks amazing—almost like professionals came in afterward and finished it for them. And good for them—they WIN the round! They hug, and Producer Dirk tells Wes, “Good job.”Next, they head to Texas for a dance contest. This competition is a little weird, but their dance quickly turns sexy, and they win again. After a hitchhiking detour, they assume they're out, but surprise—they're not! So that's a relief. They head to Oregon for the next round, but first, there's an extracurricular gift exchange, for reasons that are unclear.Avery and Wes make it to the finals, and the sparks are flying. However, when Avery overhears a conversation between Wes and the producer, she gets really mad. What she doesn't hear, though, is Wes telling the producer that he doesn't want to play the game anymore because he's really into her.The producer tells her about Wes' feelings right before the final competition. They do a crossword puzzle and race to find the best gift under the tree. Wes falls and hurts his leg, so Avery continues on alone—and wins!!!They celebrate by announcing what they're going to do with their prize money—both plan to give back to the community. In the end, they make up and and make out.

Feeling overwhelmed during the holiday season? We understand! Meet the chaos head on with some laughter and watch all your cares melt away.
Heather is fresh off announcing the Jingle Bell Run and Cliff is just happy he didn't have to run. Looking for a way to relax this afternoon with a new Christmas movie? Skip the Hallmark Channel for now, fire up Netflix and watch Klaus ! Cliff thinks this might be his favorite new movie of the year and he desperately wants you to watch it. He gives it 9 out of 10 Elves on a Shelf and it only misses a ten because it's not a "Christmas Classic"...yet.Have old cookie cutters in your drawer (or looking for a reason to make a Goodwill run?) Heather is going to tell you how to can take your old, less then perfect cookie cutters and turn them into amazing ornaments! It's the perfect activity for a holiday crafternoon. Finally, you usually think of hot chocolate when you think of the holidays, but sometimes what you really need to make it through the day is coffee. And if you are like Heather, you sometimes need to literally breathe it in. First person to invent a combination Kuerig/sauna is going to make a FORTUNE.
Jingle Bell Run 2019. Just a week to go to this fun and important fundraising event, the 35th jingling year! Get out the bells, the festive gear, get out the walking shoes, gather friends and family and make this the greatest one yet. The honorees and the folks from the Arthritis Foundation--The Bock Family, with young Izzy (just 3 years old), Dr. Amish Dave, and Steve Wright from the Arthritis Foundation, provide all the stories and details to inspire us to raise funds, and donate to The Arthritis Foundation. This autoimmune disease strikes indiscriminately, as is the case with little Izzy--no history of the condition in the family. A large percentage of the $$ raised for the Run on Sunday, December 8 at Westlake Park, go toward research! www.arthritis.org

In my 10th episode of Pharoh Runnin, I discuss the monsoon known as the Jingle Bell Run 2018
In episode 5, we hear from avid runner and San Marcos teacher, Dylan Jones about his experience at the Jingle Bell Run.
In this episode, I prepare for my first ever Jingle Bell Run. I'll explain how I plan to beat my previous time of 30:31 and what I am expecting from my first holiday-themed race. I take a little time out to explain why I registered for this race which goes beyond my love of competing against other runners. Is this my final race of 2018? Who knows!!!
In episode 3, we hear from Kathy Morris, homeowner along the Jingle Bell Run route.
It's about the Jingle Bell Run 2018! This major event, the largest Jingle Bell Run in the country, is critical in raising important funds for the work of the Arthritis Foundation. The amazing, Medical Honoree Dr. Laura Matsen Ko, started her involvement at age 8! Her orthopedic surgeon dad inspired her to follow in his footsteps, and now she performs hip and knee replacements, as well as working with persons living with arthritis to be able to live their best life. Adult Honoree, Laura Genovees was diagnosed at age 27, and now finds her mission to be advocacy and education, to help others who are living with this condition--that affects 1 in 5 people, not discriminating by age, or economics, or ethnicity. And Ashley Moise (mo-ease) is the Development Director for the local office of the Arthritis Foundation. She adds to the invite to join in--Sunday, December 9, Westlake Park--get those jingle bells ringing. This year a 12K has been added...but there's something for everyone! And donate even if we can't be there. www.jbr.org/seattle
In episode 1, we hear from Jill Holechek, Race Director of the Jingle Bell Run.
We're BACK! After a short hiatus we are back in the studio this week featuring two major changes! First, we will be releasing episodes multiple days each week as we are turning segments into episodes. The second change is our brand new segment "Community Spotlight"! While we like talking real estate and LOVE checking out the best places for food and cocktails for "The Local Flavor" we wanted to start featuring community organizations that help make Sarasota an even better place to live! We are kicking off our first episode for Community Spotlight with the first in a series of episodes to promote a great local event benefiting the Arthritis Foundation - THE JINGLE BELL RUN! Dr. Richard Yonker - Rheumatologist Today we had the change to sit down with experienced rheumatologist Dr. Richard Yonker of Sarasota Arthritis Center to learn about the several types of arthritis and how arthritis affects everyone. Dr. Yonker attended the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa where he received his D.O. degree. Dr. Yonker's internship was completed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the Parkview Hospital. Dr. Yonkers' residency in Internal Medicine was completed at the Albert Einstein Medical Center-Northern Division in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His fellowship in Rheumatology was completed at the University of Florida located in Gainesville, Florida. In 1984, Dr. Yonker joined the Sarasota Arthritis Center. About the Jingle Bell Run Now in its 23rd year, the Jingle Bell Run in one of the Arthritis Foundation’s signature events that is held nationwide during the month of December annually. Jaydin Mercer is a rock star! As our Community Spot Light continues with the Arthritis Foundation's signature event the Jingle Bell Run we had the pleasure of chatting with Jennifer and Jaydin Mercer. They are a local family who shared their personal arthritis story with us. Jaydin will be serving as the Youth Honoree for this year’s Jingle Bell Run. Remember her name because this girl is a rock star! Jaydin's Story All I really remember was the pain. Not really how it happened, just how much it hurt me to have it. Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. Three big words that mean a lot to me now but did not register in my mind back then. I was only four-years-old, so I did not understand what was happening. The first medicine I began taking was medication to reduce the swelling, but it just increased my stomach aches. After switching my medicine, I soon had to be put to sleep for steroid injections in the left knee. While this was going on, we also figured out that I had Uveitis, a type of Arthritis in my eyes. It causes them to inflame, which can lead to blindness if not treated. Today, I manage my Arthritis by taking my NSAID twice a day, receiving a shots every Saturday, and getting a blood draw every six weeks. Staying active and eating healthy also help me stay happy and feel as good as possible! Despite having Arthritis, I am able to play soccer, train in Martial Arts, maintain straight A’s for three years, and get into the gifted program. As the official Youth Honoree, I have a chance to help others going through the same problems as me. The foundation also made it possible for me to go to Camp Boggy Creek for a family weekend last fall and a whole week this summer. I can now help raise money for this great foundation! I am honored to raise awareness about something that others might overlook or not understand and show them that this is a serious issue for people of all ages. We should be working together to find cures and other ways to help. I am proud to represent the Arthritis Foundation!
