As President and Chief Strategist, Lyn has made it her mission to amplify the voices of changemakers, ensuring their messages resonate and inspire action.Lyn's journey began in the traditional advertising world, where she found herself unfulfilled by promoting business-to-business and retail products. “One day I woke up, and I was like, something's just not right,” she said. “What I found out I needed was the opportunity to market causes and businesses that were making a positive impact in the world.”That realization led to the creation of KidGlov, a marketing agency that works exclusively with purpose-driven organizations. From nonprofits to socially responsible enterprises, KidGlov provides branding, messaging, and strategy that help these organizations grow while staying true to their missions.KidGlov's commitment to social impact isn't just a tagline—it's embedded in the company's DNA. As a certified B Corp, the agency adheres to rigorous standards of transparency, employee well-being, and community engagement. Lyn firmly believes that businesses with a strong social mission perform better in the long run. “If you're taking care of your employees, you're going to retain those employees. And that's going to be an economic savings for you. Plus, happy team members take care of clients in a much, much better way,” she explained.Beyond its client work, KidGlov fosters a culture of authenticity and transparency, making it an outlier in the competitive advertising space. “Sometimes we'll have potential new clients come to us that have been watching us and just waiting for the right time to switch to an agency because they're really looking for an agency that has these principles,” Lyn noted. “It's not common in the advertising agency world to have this level of authenticity and transparency in the way that we operate.”Lyn's passion for supporting changemakers extends beyond KidGlov. Through her podcast, The Agency for Change, she shares the stories of purpose-driven leaders, helping to spread the message that impact and business success are not mutually exclusive. For entrepreneurs and organizations looking to make a difference, KidGlov stands as proof that authenticity, social responsibility, and success can go hand in hand. Lyn and her team are showing that marketing isn't just about selling—it's about sparking movements that lead to real-world change.tl;dr:* Lyn Wineman shares how KidGlov amplifies purpose-driven organizations through marketing, branding, and strategy.* She emphasizes the importance of authenticity, transparency, and social responsibility in building successful businesses.* KidGlov operates as a certified B Corp, ensuring a commitment to employee well-being and community engagement.* Lyn's superpower is enthusiasm, which fuels her ability to inspire and connect with others.* She advises leveraging strengths and collaborating with enthusiastic teammates to maximize impact and success. How to Develop Enthusiasm As a SuperpowerLyn Wineman's superpower is enthusiasm. It's a driving force behind her success and the impact she's making in the world. “When I get into something, I am all in,” she shared. “I am all in with raised eyebrows and voice inflection and loud voice and exclamation points and all the things.” This unrelenting energy is what fuels her ability to inspire, lead, and create lasting change through KidGlov. One powerful example of Lyn's enthusiasm at work came when she attended Mile High TEDx in Denver. She sat next to a stranger, Lida Citroën and their shared energy sparked an immediate connection. “Between the speeches, we became friends,” Lyn recalled. This relationship grew into professional collaboration, demonstrating how enthusiasm can foster opportunities and meaningful relationships. For those looking to cultivate enthusiasm, Lyn offers a practical approach. She recommends utilizing the Working Genius framework, which identifies core strengths. “If enthusiasm isn't a natural thing for you, I would say phone a friend,” she suggested. “Find an enthusiastic teammate to help with that side of the work.” She also encourages leaning into one's innate strengths rather than forcing traits that feel unnatural.By following Lyn Wineman's example and advice, you can make enthusiasm a team skill rather than a personal one.Remember, however, that research into success suggests that building on your own superpowers is more important than creating new ones or overcoming weaknesses. In today's dynamic business environment, leadership confidence development is essential for guiding teams and driving organizational success. However, confidence alone is not enough to lead effectively—leaders must also build authentic trust with their teams. Trust and confidence are inseparable when fostering productive work environments and ensuring long-term success. In this part II Women's Leadership Success podcast interview with Lida Citroën, we will explore practical strategies for developing leadership confidence and building authentic leadership trust. Lida Citroën: Mastering the Art of Leadership Influence Lida Citroën is a personal branding and reputation management expert who helps executives, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders worldwide shape their public image and seize ideal opportunities. With a track record of guiding thousands of individuals across 30+ countries, Lida offers a transformative approach to personal positioning.   As a dynamic keynote speaker, Lida has captivated audiences through her TEDx Talk and Talks at Google. She also serves as a faculty member at the Institute for Management Studies, delivering impactful seminars across the U.S.   An award-winning author of seven books, Lida recently released The New Rules of Influence: How to Authentically Build Trust, Drive Change, and Make an Impact, offering fresh insights on building influence with authenticity.   https://youtu.be/9BloWnsJCRw?si=ChRaTephWOVU0Hug Leadership Confidence Development: Why It Matters Leadership confidence is the foundation of effective decision-making and influence. Leaders who display confidence are better equipped to inspire others, make strategic decisions, and handle challenges with resilience. However, confidence doesn't just emerge overnight; it is built through intentional practices. 1. Self-awareness and Emotional Intelligence Self-awareness is key to understanding one's strengths and growth areas, directly impacting leadership confidence. Leaders who invest in emotional intelligence training can more easily navigate complex team dynamics, boosting their self-confidence. By developing a deeper understanding of one's emotions, one can regulate them and respond to situations with clarity and calm. 2. Continual Learning and Growth Leaders who actively seek to develop new skills and stay up to date with industry trends exude more confidence. By continuously challenging yourself through learning and development opportunities, you stay prepared for changing circumstances, reinforcing your leadership capabilities. 3. Mentorship and Feedback One of the best ways to grow as a leader is to seek mentorship and actively request feedback from peers and team members. By receiving constructive input and applying it, leaders can build confidence in their leadership style while improving performance. This two-way communication also helps build stronger relationships and mutual trust.   Building Authentic Leadership Trust While confidence is critical, building authentic leadership trust sustains long-term success. Trust makes teams follow your lead, invest in your vision, and commit to achieving collective goals. But trust cannot be forced; it must be earned. Consistency in Actions and Words To build trust, leaders must align their actions with their words. Consistency in decision-making, behavior, and communication ensures that team members know what to expect from you. This creates a sense of reliability, which is fundamental to establishing trust.   Transparency and Open Communication Honesty and transparency foster trust within teams. Leaders who are open about their goals, challenges, and expectations build stronger connections with their teams. This authentic communication shows that you value your employees' input and are committed to their growth and the organization's success.   Empathy and Active Listening Building authentic leadership trust requires empathy.

Lida Citroën, Boomer, joins us to talk about her new book, The New Rules of Influence – How to Authentically Build Trust, Drive Change, and Make an Impact. Lida is a keynote speaker, author and executive coach empowering global executives, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders to manage how they're perceived and drive them towards ideal opportunities. She has helped thousands of individuals gain a fresh perspective on crafting a personal narrative that tells the right story to the right people about who they are. Her personal mission isn't just about perception—it's about profound transformation, guiding others to leave an indelible mark on the tapestry of human achievement.   Topics covered in the Episode: We matter Executive Presence and Influence Groups of Rules (why, who, how, where) Misalignment of values Brand and Influence Influencers & Social Media Here are three takeaways from the episode:   1.    Executive presence is about: Gravitas but that can't be well-defined, Image which is about how to dress the part, and Communication that are usually scripted messages. That doesn't necessarily lead to influence which is not manipulation or persuasion. This is why we need new rules. 2.    Lida divides the 10 rules into 4 groups. Courage is our “Why” and it's about being real. Credibility means being clear what we stand for. “Who” is now global and includes rules of being of service and inclusive. “How” is not about perfection but being consistent and that builds trust. “Where” is about visibility. 3.   Misalignment of our values can be part of the journey and gets us to where we are (Rule 3) We've all experienced this and we learn from them. Caring what people think is important as you build a business. And building your reputation is what Lida Citroën does best. Lida Citroën is an award-winning branding and reputation management authority who designs and enhances the identities of executives, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders globally. As CEO and founder of LIDA360, LLC, Lida is sought-after for her knowledge of personal brand development, reputation management, leadership communication, and online positioning. Lida's popular TEDx Talk, Talks at Google presentation, and multiple courses on LinkedIn Learning showcase her empowering delivery style and message. She regularly presents business workshops on reputation management, personal branding, executive presence, leadership communication, and using social media to self-promote, helping employees and leaders build a personal brand that supports the business. She also works to support military veterans as they make the transition from a military to a civilian career. Lida is the author of 5 best-selling books on reputation management including her latest "Control the Narrative: The Executive's Guide to Building, Pivoting and Repairing Your Reputation," published in May 2021 from Kogan Page. Why should you care about your reputation? You have a personal brand. Even if you're just now launching your business, you are already known for acting, interacting and dressing a certain way. How you treat people, how you present yourself and how you run your business has a deep impact on how others perceive you! Those perceptions affect whether people want to work with you in the future. What can you do about it? When you intend to have a big impact, your reputation gets bigger and the stakes get higher. Lida Citroën coaches entrepreneurs on how to build, reclaim or transform the way people perceive them.  In this episode, Lida discusses accountability, public perception, and why your reputation can be the foundation for a strong and enduring business. Quotes “Everyone has a brand - by design or by default. You're known for certain things - how you've been living your life and showing up. You've formed some type of reputation in the minds of people who interact with you. What I do is to help people take control of that, authentically.” “One thing I help my clients do is separate reputation from fact. It's hard when you're being dragged. Separate what happened from what you feel about what happened. What are the short and long term implications? Has it actually damaged your career? I also help them decide who their audience is.” “We have to know that someone's perception of us is going to drive them to want to work with us…or not.” “If people don't see you and perceive you in the way that you want, you're going to miss out on opportunities.” Links mentioned in this episode: You can navigate to Lida Citroën's website here: www.lida360.com  Watch Lida's TedTalk here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BloWnsJCRw  Subscribe to Lida's Youtube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/c/LidaCitroen Lida is very active on LinkedIn. "Part of being entrepreneur is that sense of unknowing." - Lida CitroënIn this week's episode, we have Lida Citroën. She was in corporate America for 20 years moving from one industry to the next. It's not that she can't do one job perfectly, it's more of accomplishing so much in that one position and then challenging herself to be as successful in another one, in a totally different industry. She established Lida360 last 2008 in the worst economy. She thought of helping businesses to do strategic branding and global positioning. Lida turned these trying times to guide other businesses on how to position themselves to be competitive in a very complicated market. Lida connected with other business owners and had informational interviews with them. Surprisingly, the advice that she got consistently from other successful business owners, was to NOT have a business plan yet. She was told that creating a business plan at the onset will cause you to miss the organic part of the business. She mentioned that as she started her business thinking that she will help businesses in doing marketing, as she was doing for years. And then personal branding found her and she fell in love with it. A personal brand is a narrative or a value proposition that defines yourself. She believes every business, in every industry, should have this. It is creating a story where you tell who you are authentically and with consistency. And this is where you connect with your people, human to human.
