This has made it nearly impossible for thousands of dealers to buy and sell vehicles this week. "We cannot process paperwork. Everything is frozen, everything is tied up — we cannot move money back and forth to pay off cars, to finance our customers' transactions," Tom Maioli, who owns Celebrity Motor Car Company with dealerships across  York and New Jersey, told CBS MoneyWatch (https://www.cbsnews.com/news/cdk-cyber-attack-outage-update-2024/) He said his business is "completely shut down." https://www.zerohedge.com/technology/everything-frozen-third-day-cyberattack-leaves-15000-auto-dealerships-crippled This shut down was a Real event, but done by the Deep State NWO / One World Order Crowd.. You'll see some sort of deep state surveillance program.  Post 9/11 Legislation: After the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, the U.S. government enacted several pieces of legislation and executive orders aimed at preventing future attacks. The most notable of these is the USA PATRIOT Act, which expanded the government's surveillance and investigative powers. Critics argue that these measures infringe on civil liberties, particularly rights to privacy and due process.   Bring on ID2020 as more digital plandemics happen: Cyber Attacks: These could be used to disrupt infrastructure, sow chaos, or steal sensitive information. This could  create a perceived need for increased security and control.  Digital ID Systems: By implementing a digital ID system, the Ai government could monitor and control access to various online services. This could potentially lead to a situation where access to essential services is contingent on compliance with certain rules or behaviors. “Our digital activity increasingly parallels our real-world activity. The Marketing Book Podcast

The AI Playbook: Mastering the Rare Art of Machine Learning Deployment by Eric Siegel  ABOUT THE BOOK: In his bestselling first book, Eric Siegel explained how machine learning works. Now, in The AI Playbook, he shows how to capitalize on it. The greatest tool is the hardest to use. Machine learning is the world's most important general-purpose technology—but it's notoriously difficult to launch.  Outside Big Tech and a handful of other leading companies, machine learning initiatives routinely fail to deploy, never realizing value.  What's missing? A specialized business practice suitable for wide adoption.  In The AI Playbook, bestselling author Eric Siegel presents the gold-standard, six-step practice for ushering machine learning projects from conception to deployment.  He illustrates the practice with stories of success and of failure, including revealing case studies from UPS, FICO, and prominent dot-coms.  This disciplined approach serves both sides: It empowers business professionals, and it establishes a sorely needed strategic framework for data professionals. Beyond detailing the practice, this book also upskills business professionals—painlessly.  It delivers a vital yet friendly dose of semi-technical background knowledge that all stakeholders need to lead or participate in machine learning projects, end to end.  This puts business and data professionals on the same page so that they can collaborate deeply, jointly establishing precisely what machine learning is called upon to predict, how well it predicts, and how its predictions are acted upon to improve operations.  These essentials make or break each initiative—getting them right paves the way for machine learning's value-driven deployment. A note from the author: What kind of AI does this book cover? The buzzword AI can mean many things, but this book is about machine learning, which is a central basis for—and what many mean by—AI. To be specific, this book covers the most vital use cases of machine learning, those designed to improve a wide range of business operations. ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Eric Siegel, Ph.D. is a leading consultant and former Columbia University professor who helps companies deploy machine learning.  He is the founder of the long-running Machine Learning Week conference series, the instructor of the acclaimed online course “Machine Learning Leadership and Practice – End-to-End Mastery,” executive editor of The Machine Learning Times, and a frequent keynote speaker.  His previous book is the bestselling "Predictive Analytics: The Power to Predict Who Will Click, Buy, Lie, or Die," which has been used in courses at hundreds of universities and was featured on episode 74 of The Marketing Book Podcast in 2016. Eric's interdisciplinary work bridges the stubborn technology/business gap. At Columbia, he won the Distinguished Faculty award when teaching graduate computer science courses in ML and AI. Later, he served as a business school professor at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.  Eric's many media appearances include Bloomberg TV and Radio, Business News Network (Canada), Israel National Radio, NPR Marketplace, Radio National (Australia), Businessweek, CBS MoneyWatch, The European Business Review, The Financial Times, Forbes, Harvard Business Review, The Huffington Post, The New York Times, Newsweek, Scientific American, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post. Unsung History
The History of the Nutrition Facts Label

Unsung History

If you go to a grocery store in the United States and pick up a box of cereal, you expect to find a white box on the back of the package with information in Helvetica Black about the food's macronutrients (things like fat and protein) and micronutrients (vitamins and minerals). The Nutrition Facts label is so ubiquitous that you may not even notice it. But how did it get there and why does it look the way it does? The history of that label is our story this week. Joining me to discuss the history of food labeling in the United States is Dr. Xaq Frohlich, Associate Professor of History of Technology in the Department of History at Auburn University, and author of From Label to Table: Regulating Food in America in the Information Age. Our theme song is Frogs Legs Rag, composed by James Scott and performed by Kevin MacLeod, licensed under Creative Commons. The mid-episode music is “Oh, you candy kid,” composed by John L. Golden, with lyrics by Bob Adams, and performed by Ada Jones in 1909; the audio is in the public domain and available via the Library of Congress's National Jukebox. The episode image is “FDA Label Man,” an ad produced by the FDA for the nutritional label; the image is in the public domain as a United States government work and is available via the FDA Flickr. Additional Sources: “Milestones in U.S. Food and Drug Law,” U.S. Food & Drug Administration. “Pure Food and Drug Act of 1906: Topics in Chronicling America,” Lobrary of Congress Research Guides. “The Pure Food and Drug Act,” History, Art & Archives, United States House of Representatives. “The American Chamber of Horrors [video],” U.S. Food & Drug Administration YouTube Channel, June 29, 2018. “The Accidental Poison That Founded the Modern FDA,” by Julian G. Lyons, The New York Times, January 18, 1973. “H.R.3562 - Nutrition Labeling and Education Act of 1990,” Congress.gov. “How to Understand and Use the Nutrition Facts Label,” U.S. Food & Drug Administration. “The FDA wants to change what counts as ‘healthy' food. Big food makers say that's unfair.” by Irina Ivanova, CBS Moneywatch, February 27, 2023.  “FDA to test new package labels that could change how consumers make food choices,” by Madeline Holcombe, CNN Health, June 21, 2023. “The FDA is attempting to ban partially hydrogenated oils for good. But what in the world are they?” by Joy Saha, Salon.com, August 16, 2023. “Burkey Belser, designer of ubiquitous nutrition facts label, dies at 76,” by Michael S. We hear from people who aren't happy with their Medicare supplement plan and they think they can change it during open enrollment. We've heard from people who didn't get a Medicare supplement or Medigap policy when first eligible, and they think now they can add it like if they would with a drug plan. However, Open Enrollment doesn't apply to Medigap policies. If you want to change your Medigap policy, you can apply at any time during the year, and medical underwriting may apply. If you are trying to change from Medicare Advantage to a Medicare supplement Medigap policy, there's only two times you can drop that Advantage plan and one of them is coming up. So we say shop for your Medicare supplement first, get your guaranteed acceptance in hand and then dis-enroll from the Advantage plan during Open Enrollment and you'll be good to go January 1."   On Common Mistakes with Medicare Open Enrollment "I think waiting until the last minute, then they can't get through or something gets messed up. The mistake I already mentioned: assuming that you don't have to do anything if you love your plan. That happens. I did a client last year. I did his wife early this year, and she says, I'm not supposed to tell you this, Diane, my husband didn't take any drugs. He was in the cheapest plan that he could be in, but then he didn't open his Annual Notice. And come to find out, I think this was two years ago, the plan he was in was discontinued and he was enrolled automatically and that went from $10 to $69. It's a mistake - not opening your Annual Notice of Changes as far as Open Enrollment goes." On What to Do with Medicare Open Enrollment "Don't pay attention to the commercials. Look at your Annual Notice of Changes and then do your homework. So my words to people, and again,

Some things are not as easy as you may think. And discerning the right Medicare choices for you is one of those things. When preparing to enroll in Medicare, or evaluating your coverage, it pays to look past the commercials, do your homework - and to read the fine print. When I researched Medicare in 2022, I engaged Diane Omdahl and her service 65 Incorporated. She's written a new book Medicare for You: A Smart Person's Guide and joins us today to discuss some key things you need to know. Diane Omdahl joins us from Wisconsin __________________________ Bio The author of Medicare for You: A Smart Person's Guide, Diane Omdahl, RN, MS., is a nationally recognized Medicare expert and the author of Medicare and You: A Smart Person's Guide. That is the way that they will enroll in Medicare when it's time. And we have run into people trying to enroll in Medicare who did not have an account. And it's not always easy to set up. And people who have an account haven't kept it up to date, they haven't informed Social Security of their address change. And after a divorce, women with a name change, that's quite involved. And with the Social Security offices just coming back out from Covid, many of them are still not open completely. If you have to submit documents, you don't want to send originals in the mail. And so that's what we say, keep it up to date. Then when you're actually approaching 65, you can't do anything until your initial enrollment period, which is three months before your birthday, unless it's on the first of the month and it's four months. But people like to start about six months in advance. Given they're getting all of the advertising even earlier than that, we tell them that's when you should start thinking about it. And one of our best pieces of advice is that they can  toss out that stuff they get prior to age 65 because as they get closer and know what they need, then they can look for the specific information that will work for them." On The Two Medicare Paths "The two Medicare paths is how Medicare is structured for most people over 65. It is probably the most important decision people will make going forward, yet people give it the short shrift. I read that on average people spend 14 hours shopping for a new car. What do they do when it comes to Medicare? They go with what their spouse has, or what works for a friend, or what's in the commercials.

After carjackers allegedly stole a pregnant Illinois mother's Volkswagen SUV earlier this month with her infant son inside, running her over in the process, local deputies said they immediately contacted the automaker so they could use its crash-response system to help locate the car via GPS. The automaker declined. The reason? The mother hadn't paid a bill, according to local authorities. The 34-year-old mother, who law enforcement officials haven't named, said she called the Lake County Sheriff's Office on Feb. 23 and told police that the accused thieves had taken her 2021 Volkswagen Atlas and that her infant son still in the back seat. In hopes of quickly tracking the vehicle down, detectives immediately contacted Car-Net, the automatic crash response system on the vehicle, the Lake County, Illinois, sheriff's office said in a report posted on Facebook. "Unfortunately, there was a delay, as Volkswagen Car-Net would not track the vehicle with the abducted child until they received payment to reactivate the tracking device in the stolen Volkswagen," the sheriff's office said.Detectives told the Chicago Sun-Times that Volkswagen Car-Net wanted $150 to restart the service because the mother hadn't made a recent payment. "Serious breach"Volkswagen told CBS MoneyWatch in a statement that it takes customer safety seriously and is "addressing the situation.""Volkswagen has a procedure in place with a third-party provider for Car-Net Support Services involving emergency requests from law enforcement," the German automaker said. "They have executed this process successfully in previous incidents. Unfortunately, in this instance, there was a serious breach of the process." After paying the balance on the mother's Car-Net service, police said they located the vehicle about 11 miles south of her home. The alleged car thieves escaped, but officers recovered the infant, who was unharmed, after the driver released him in a parking lot. The mother, who is six months pregnant, has a broken pelvis and a broken elbow, CBS Chicago reported. She is in a local hospital in serious, but stable, condition, authorities said. Support the showSign Up For Exclusive Episodes At: https://reasonabletv.com/LIKE & SUBSCRIBE for new videos every day. https://www.youtube.com/c/NewsForReasonablePeople
