What are the secrets for managing socials of vastly different properties across the Casino & Hospitality space? Tristan Diehl, Enterprise Director of Social Media at San Manuel Band of Mission Indians (SMBMI), speaks with Zontee and Hannah to reveal how her team manages the social accounts for all SMBMI properties (and the various elements within each one) while also ensuring they're fulfilling both customer and client needs.  Full Episode Details  Tristan joins this episode of Social Pros to share how she and her team create social content to inspire followers to come out to SMBMI properties, including Yaamava Resort & Casino in SoCal and Palms Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, where guests will have exciting, in-person experiences and create lasting memories.  Tristan discusses using social to change the public's perspective when the property goes through major changes and upgrades. In the case of Yaamava, they've used storytelling and montages to showcase new amenities and entertainment so guests can get a feel for the space before stepping in the resort. With Palms, she and her team were tasked with reviving dormant social media accounts after the property was re-opened under new ownership after several years -- a challenge for even the most experienced social pros. And now, it's been key to SMBMI to bridge the gap between the properties, while also highlighting the unique qualties of each. Tristan talks about balancing these company needs with the needs of their audience, and finding the perfect trends that will satisfy both.    In This Episode: 3:07 - Tristan shares how she manages social for San Manuel, Yaamava, and Palms, and how the strategy for each property is unique 6:53 - Leveraging FOMO to spark guest excitement for experiences only SMBMI properties can give 9:04 - How Tristan plans content for each of the properties, and how she does her reporting to cater to what followers respond to 11:02 - Balancing the wants of your audience with the wants of your shareholders 15:09 - Betting on an unsure piece of content, and course correcting when something you were hoping was going to hit turns out to misfire 17:32 - Building and upskilling a well-rounded team to expand capabilities 21:13 - Trend work for 2025 25:19 - How to revive long-dormant social accounts 30:22 - Tristan's advice for aspiring social pros Resources  Connect with Tristan on LinkedIn Follow San Manuel (SMBMI) on Instagram Follow Yaamava on Instagram Follow Yaamava on TikTok Follow Palms on Instagram Visit SocialPros.com for more insights from your favorite social media marketers.

In the rapidly evolving business world, executive leaders face the challenge of leading their teams and influencing key stakeholders. The most effective leaders aren't just decision-makers; they are influencers. But what does it take to master executive influence techniques? This powerful part I interview delves into the art of mastering executive influence. Executive influence goes beyond authority. It's about persuasion, connection, and the ability to guide others toward a shared vision. Whether managing up to your board of directors or collaborating with cross-functional teams, mastering these techniques can be a game-changer.Join me Sabrina Braham MA MFT and Lida Citroën as we explore how you can develop your executive influence and impact and advance your career. Lida Citroën: The New Rules of Mastering Executive Influence Lida Citroën (@LIDA360) is a personal branding and reputation management authority who helps global executives, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders manage their perceptions and drive toward ideal opportunities. She has helped thousands of individuals in more than 30 countries gain a fresh perspective on positioning themselves for success.   As a professional keynote speaker and presenter, Lida's popular TEDx Talk, Talks at Google presentation, and numerous courses on LinkedIn Learning showcase her empowering coaching style and message. She is also a faculty member for the Institute for Management Studies, presenting seminars throughout the United States. Lida has authored seven award-winning books, and her most recent book, The New Rules of Influence: How to authentically build trust, drive change, and make an impact, just launched. How to Inspire Action and Lead With Authenticity as an Influential Executive Leader Today, we explore how the most influential leaders build trust, communicate strategically, and--- leverage emotional intelligence to inspire action and lead with authenticity.  1. Empathy and Emotional Intelligence Understanding your team's emotions and motivations is crucial. Empathy enables you to tailor your approach, ensuring your message resonates with each individual's unique perspectives. Executive leaders who demonstrate high emotional intelligence not only influence but also foster loyalty and collaboration within their organizations. 2. Strategic Leadership Communication  Master communicators understand that timing, tone, and clarity are everything. Executive influence relies on conveying a clear and compelling message that aligns with your audience's interests. Being concise and transparent helps build trust while leaving little room for misunderstanding. 3. Building Trust and Credibility  Influence without trust is ineffective. As an executive leader, consistently demonstrating competence, integrity, and reliability builds a strong foundation for influence. When people trust your judgment and respect your values, they are more likely to follow your lead. 4. Leveraging Social Capital - Building Strategic Relationships Your network is your net worth in the executive space. Building strategic relationships across departments and industries enhances your influence. When others recognize your ability to connect people and ideas, your ability to influence outcomes grows. 5. Adaptive Leadership  Executive leaders need to be flexible and adaptive. An essential influence technique is understanding when to lead, listen, and empower others to take the reins. Adaptability shows you are responsive to change, an invaluable trait in today's fast-paced business environment. You can lead with authority and authenticity by mastering executive influence techniques and driving personal and organizational success. Conclusion - Mastering Executive Influence Builds Trust and Leadership Success Influence is the key to effective executive leadership. By focusing on emotional intelligence, strategic communication, and building trust,

SummaryThe authority paradox is the more you try to prove your credibility, the less credible you appear. Proving credibility often involves teaching as much as possible and listing certifications, but this can be distracting and overwhelming for the audience. Focusing on yourself instead of your audience hurts your connection with them. Instead of teaching all the details, focus on shifting belief patterns. Teaching to shift beliefs requires empathy and understanding of your clients. Using client stories and strategizing what to teach can inspire action and create credibility.   In This Episode We Discuss The more you try to prove your credibility, the less credible you appear. According to the Kaiser Family Foundation's Medicaid Enrollment and Unwinding Tracker, as of February 1, over 16.4 million Medicaid and CHIP enrollees nationwide have been disenrolled and lost their coverage. Over 70% of people are losing coverage because of paperwork reasons, such as missing notices from the state Medicaid office and an inability to produce wage statements. Out of the states reporting age breakouts, children accounted for 38% of Medicaid disenrollments. Our latest MCH Bridges episode highlights the human experiences of what these alarming statistics mean for families across the country and emphasizes the role of leaders in maternal and child health (MCH) during this ongoing issue. Guest host Atyya Chaudhry dives into the stories of those with lived experience of losing Medicaid coverage and what organizations like the Florida Health Justice Project are doing to make an impact. Tune in to these important conversations with our guests Janis Fay and Alison Yager, who share their experiences and insight, as well as action steps that MCH advocates and individuals who are experiencing coverage loss can take.Resources: AMCHP Resource Library: Promoting MCH Coverage Children with Medical Handicaps (referenced in the episode) Lily's Story & Christina's Story (referenced in the episode) AMCHP Blog Post: The Medicaid Unwinding Process at the Halfway Mark: How Can MCH Advocates Address the Current Challenges to Ensure Continuity of Coverage for Children and Families?AMCHP Blog Post: MCH Advocates are Alarmed About the Rapid Loss of Child and Family Coverage in the Medicaid Redetermination Process Florida Health Justice Project - Medicaid | The Lived Experience: Unwinding the Continuous Coverage Requirement

The Best Story Wins (ft. John Livesay and David Burkus)John Livesay and David Burkus on telling stories and picking fightsOPENING QUOTE:”Whoever tells the best story is the one that's going to win that pitch, not who has the best price or who has more bells and features.” -John LivesayGUEST BIO:John Livesay, also known as The Pitch Whisperer, is the speaking industry's sage of storytelling and the go-to expert for helping brands tell compelling stories to their own audiences. He's done exactly that for the likes of Coca-Cola, Olympus, Berkshire Hathaway, and many more big name clients, offering a roadmap for turning great products into narratives that customers just can't ignore.Links:WebsiteFacebookTwitterLinkedInYouTubeDavid Burkus is one of the leading minds in the business world, and one of its most provocative. He literally wrote the book on managing remote teams before COVID hit. Since then, he's been instrumental in helping organizations everywhere adapt to the seismic shifts brought on by remote work, especially when it comes to how leaders interact with their team members and their customers. Links:WebsiteTwitterFacebookLinkedInInstagramYouTubeCORE TOPICS + DETAILS:[3:40] - Why a Bad Time is the Best TimeTurning opposition into opportunityDavid shares how he entered the professional speaking game at the height of the pandemic — probably the only speaker to make that somewhat insane choice. But David doesn't see it that way. He turned a powerful new need, managing remote workers and teams in the COVID era, into an opportunity to provide unique value. He's never looked back, and there's something to be learned from his accomplishment. Sometimes the worst time is the best time.[5:40] - The Universal LanguageThe brain thinks in stories, which is why storytellers excelFrom Olympus to Coca-Cola, John Livesay delivers the same undeniable message: the best story wins. Audiences think in terms of narrative — it's how the brain is wired. That's why the best speakers, leaders, marketers, whatever you like; they're the ones who know how to tell a story. What story are you telling?[9:07] - You Are Your Own Chief Culture OfficerManaging people is everything, even if you're only managing yourselfEvery leader at every level of an organization is the chief culture officer of their own team, whether it's a team of two or 200. Even a sole proprietor has a company culture — it's what they will do, won't do, and the things they insist on in their work and general approach.  It's how they function, how much they're willing to work, all the little details that make up their “organization” of one. Teaching every leader at every level how to take responsibility for the people in their team is the key to unlocking real impact that lasts.[11:25] - Want to Inspire Action? Pick a FightStop talking metrics and put on the boxing gloves“People don't want to join a company anymore, they want to join a crusade.” With that, David Burkus introduces one of the most striking ideas from our episode — that if you want to lead people, you need to pick a fight and do so wisely. Position yourself as your customers' ally in a fight against the status quo, and you'll inspire many more people to join you on that mission than if you just talk metrics and KPIs.RESOURCES:[2:04] Leading from Anywhere, by David Burkus[4:34] Books by John Livesay[11:25] Pick a Fight, by David BurkusFollow John Livesay:FacebookTwitterLinkedInYouTubeFollow David Burkus:WebsiteTwitterFacebookLinkedInInstagramYouTubeFollow Josh Linkner:FacebookLinkedInInstagramTwitterYouTubeABOUT MIC DROP:Hear from the world's top thought leaders and experts, sharing tipping point moments, strategies, and approaches that led to their speaking career success. Hey Friend. Sometimes when we think about the year ahead, it can be difficult to set goals. Sometimes as we think about things we would like to do, our brains like to shut them down before they ever reach paper, much less become a plan. Most of the goal-setting exercises we do look something like this…   Write down / brain dump all the possibilities of things we want to do.  Narrow that list down to a few to focus on Take those few things and break them down into action steps. The problem with this method lies in step one. That list is often based on what we currently think is possible based on the past.  And when this happens we tend to set uninspiring goals that don't pull us forward and feel more like a nagging to-do list. On this episode, I'm sharing a simple mindset shift to help you set truly inspiring goals for the next year  Let's do it!   -- Kayla   LINKS + MENTIONS You know that thing you need to do in your business? Keith joins Michelle and Maria in welcoming Heather Hansen to the show today to discuss authentic adaptability. Heather helps top global professionals show up, speak up and inspire action and change the world and is the author of the book Unmuted: How to Show Up, Speak Up, and Inspire Action. Today, Heather shares nuggets on how to foster effective communication between leaders and their teams. Heather starts by sharing the purpose of her book, explaining that the book was written to understand and promote good communication, which is built on more listening, rather than speaking. She also reveals that there are dangerous effects of language bias as it is often a result of deeper discrimination and explains the meaning of authentic adaptability and how we can remain true to our values even if we seem different every day. Heather concludes by sharing insightful tips to help leaders and teams develop good communication and action. The Finer Details of This Episode: Heather discusses her book, Unmuted The importance of listening rather than speaking What are the effects of language bias and linguistic discrimination? Exploring authentic adaptability How can leaders practice authentic adaptability? Making the change and growing Understanding your values Heather's tips on developing teams and leaders Quotes: “My primary goal with the book was to inspire those who have not been speaking up in the world to begin sharing their brilliance. We've been listening to the same demographic for a long time, and as I look around the world today, I think this can't be it.” “We're facing so many extreme crises all over the world in all different areas, from the environment to political conflict. I just refuse to believe this is the height of human potential - there has got to be more.” “Unmuted is trying to give a toolkit or a skill set to leaders and everyone in the organization, to know when to press mute and listen, when to speak up, how to do so in a way that's respectful of our differences, how to become more self-aware in our leadership practices and how we are appearing before others.” “The key is learning to listen so that people want to speak up. And that means as leaders, we have to give space for that. We have to build relationships, we have to create psychological safety in the organization so people feel comfortable coming to us with new ideas.” “It's about connection, not perfection.” “Linguistic discrimination is the last acceptable form of discrimination in our society, people don't recognize it or realize it exists. And they don't realize how deep it runs, how it is connected to discrimination according to socio-economic status.” “Authentic adaptability is the ability to show up and adapt to the surroundings, adapt and be flexible to others, other ideas, different ways of doing things, as long as we are remaining true to our values.” “We have had it drummed into our heads that if you're showing up different, you're not being yourself, but I am.” “Sometimes what you are told to believe and raised to believe and your entire culture and society believes is not something you necessarily have to embrace. And it's not something that necessarily has to define you or those around you.” Show Links: REL Talent: HR Consulting Email REL Talent REL Talent on LinkedIn HeatherHansen.com Heather's Linkedin Global Speech Academy

And the people is the answer to all of this."— Mandy Crawford [00:02:21 → 00:02:28]Leveraging Relationships for Organizational Success: "And I know some of the other folks here today have talked about that. And it's not just relationships with industry, but relationships with the business deciders at the agencies, as well as state leadership. And so I think that that is a crucial thing that sometimes is missing, or maybe not as developed in sub-technology organizations, is understanding how to translate technology for business, and even more importantly, translate it for the money people, the appropriators, the people that you need to be able to support your mission and the endeavors that you want to do to help take technology to really drive that transformation and drive that change."— Mandy Crawford [00:03:33 → 00:04:12]The Pitfalls of Promoting Experts to Managers: "And all of a sudden, you're good at your job and you become a manager and you no longer get to do the thing that you really loved or were good at, and all of a sudden, you're just a manager with no training."— Mandy Crawford [00:08:46 → 00:08:55]Building Effective Teams: "I've got to have that trust there. So certainly building good teams, and then once you have the team there, you've got to make sure that your team is aligned with you on your vision for building up the future of the agency."— Mandy Crawford [00:09:35 → 00:09:48]The Importance of Employee Engagement: "one of the things that I make a priority is to meet with all of my employees, not just my direct reports. And we do it on a rotating basis over the year, because I want to just keep these conversations fresh, and I want to know what they're seeing, and I ask them questions about what do we do well, what can we do better?"— Mandy Crawford [00:11:51 → 00:12:10]Managing Priorities in Public Sector Work: "The thing that's the hardest to juggle is those priorities that are placed upon you by outside sources, and they become your number one priority. And so you may have been going on track with something else, but then there's something, because it's the nature of public sector work and things like that, and it could be from an agency that really needs you right now because of something that's going on. It could be because of a legislative priority or a priority of the governor that all of a sudden that becomes your new priority."— Mandy Crawford [00:18:18 → 00:18:45]Building Effective Political Relationships: "You got to say what you mean, do what you say, or all of those different things."— Mandy Crawford [00:22:43 → 00:22:49]Advocacy in State Technology: "I also see, and my agency sees that a big part of our role is to be advocates for you all. And we want to have the solutions that you all need to be able to do your jobs."— Mandy Crawford [00:24:55 → 00:25:06]Driving Force Behind Technological Missions: "It's about mission, and it's knowing that it's a fight worth having even on the worst days, that there are some fights that are just worth it. And I really do believe in our mission and our vision of helping Texans and using technology to be able to do that and supporting our customer agencies."— Mandy Crawford [00:29:28 → 00:29:50]Cross-Sector Collaboration: "Because I've grown up in government, and so there's a certain way that I look at things. So one just sort of the fresh look and the fresh take on the way to do things I think is certainly very valuable."— Mandy Crawford [00:31:39 → 00:31:49]⭐️ Leave a ReviewIf you enjoy listening to the podcast, please leave a 5-star review on Apple Podcasts and let us know who you want to see next on the podcast in your review.
