Have you ever been frustrated with a product and said "Hey, I can do this better?"  I think we all have and have often wondered how we can make that change.  Well Dr. Matt Burton decided to take action on those thoughts.Dr. Matthew Burton, DDS has worked as an established dental practitioner in Illinois since 2008. Like most dentists, his schedule was filled with one of the most common procedures: the Class II composite restoration. After several years in his practice working on hundreds of fillings, Dr. Burton became frustrated with the available Class II matrix systems. He tried nearly every system, but none of them provided the efficiency and consistent results he was seeking. He found that the major difficulty lies in properly placing and wedging the matrix bands. If not performed correctly, it cost him valuable time, required unnecessary & timely post polymerization adjustments, and ultimately led to a lack of confidence in the procedure.   Furthermore, Dr. Burton has discovered that different components from different matrix systems, when combined, produce consistently outstanding results.  Dr. Burton began contemplating new ideas to make his chair-side time more efficient. He discovered that he could simplify & streamline the Class II restoration process by simply re-designing the wedge to "split" down the middle. The flexible Split Wedge allows for proper gingival seal, perfect matrix contour, while greatly minimizing flash.  He ultimately realized that the design of this wedge played a critical role in achieving excellent outcomes in an incredibly efficient way.  With no other products like it on the market, Dr. Burton knew there would be demand for his matrix systems. In 2017, he formed Burton Dental Innovations to begin marketing and selling his products to other dentists who face the same challenges in their own practices. Dr. Burton enjoys testing new and forward thinking technology, and embraces these advancements as crucial to office efficiency and case outcome.   He has realized the importance of digital scanning and how software integration platforms are  a key element to utilizing scan data.Dr. Burton began teaching CE courses to dentists around the world in July 2020 and is enthusiastic to continue to share what he has learned and how it has helped shape a high level of care in his office.  

A former Doraville police officer, Miles Bryant, has been indicted by a Gwinnett County grand jury on charges related to the murder of 16-year-old Susana Morales, who went missing last summer and whose remains were found in February. The four-count indictment, including malice murder and felony murder, also charged Bryant with kidnapping and false report of a crime. Police believe Bryant kidnapped and killed Morales between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. on July 26, 2022, dumping her body in a wooded area near Drowning Creek off State Route 316. Since his arrest, other incidents have emerged and are under investigation. The body of a child matching the description of a 4-year-old boy who went missing into the Yellow River Saturday night was discovered Sunday by rescue crews, Gwinnett Fire and Emergency Services officials said. Officials said the body was discovered just after 10:30 Sunday morning. The rescue crews had resumed their search at 8:15 a.m. at Yellow River Park after suspending their search due to nightfall on Saturday. Fire officials said three boats were deployed into the river and worked with teams on the riverbanks to begin a grid search from the location in the river where witnesses placed the victim who was last seen downstream towards the Annistown Road bridge. "Search teams located a pediatric male that matched the description provided by the mother at 10:39 a.m. this morning," Capt. Ryan McGiboney said. "The body was removed from the water and turned over to the Gwinnett County Medical Examiner's Office for investigation." Officials asked for prayers for the family. The missing child was reported at 5:41 p.m. on Saturday when firefighters responded to a report of a river rescue at Yellow River Park, which is located at 3050 Juhan Road SW in Stone Mountain. Three firefighters in Georgia were awarded the Gwinnett Chamber's Gold Medal of Valor for their bravery in rescuing a mother and daughter from the fast-moving waters of the Chattahoochee River. The trio of Firefighter Paramedic Capt. Jason Weese, and FireMedic Seniors Fred Rosser and Matthew Burton, train weekly to familiarize themselves with the conditions of the river, especially when water from Lake Lanier is released through Buford Dam, which causes the current to quickly pick up. The mother and daughter were out on a family fishing trip when the Army Corps of Engineers began releasing water from the dam, causing the river's water level to rise and its current to speed up. Gwinnett players racked up top honors on the Sandy's Spiel All-State Basketball Teams for the 2022-23 season. The award-winners included three first-team selections on the All-Georgia Team, which features the top players from all classifications — Brookwood's Diana Collins and Wesleyan's Chit-Chat Wright on the girls list and Grayson's Gicarri Harris on the boys list. Lanier's Osmar Garcia was second-team All-Georgia, while Buford's Ava Grace Watson, Grayson's Tatum Brown, Hebron Christian's Aubrey Beckham and Norcross' Jania Akins were honorable mention All-Georgia. Andrew Carnes, Partnership Gwinnett's former Vice-President of Economic Development, has left the economic development organization after nearly a decade to join Georgia Power as the Community and Economic Development Manager for the northeast region. The region Carnes will be working with includes about 24 counties and cities. Partnership Gwinnett is the economic development arm of the Gwinnett Chamber, which is currently looking at candidates to fill the vacancy created by Carnes' departure. Gwinnett Chamber and Partnership Gwinnett President Nick Masino praised Carnes' hiring by Georgia Power and said they are actively seeking a replacement to lead Partnership Gwinnett. Mill Creek wrestlers Amantee Mills and Antonio Mills won titles in the National High School Coaches Association National Tournament in Virginia Beach over the weekend. Amantee won the senior national title at 126 pounds, while Antonio won the freshman national title at 113 pounds. Mill Creek sophomore Dominic Bambinelli was the runner-up at 152 pounds. Buford wrestler Drew Gorman also won the sophomore championship at 132 pounds in the tournament, going 7-0 and defeating Anthony Lucchiani of Stephens City, Va., in the finals. This culture has its origins in the time prior to the second world war, when imported records and audio equipment were prohibitively expensive. People began to gather in cafés where, for the price of a cup of coffee, they could listen to rare records on the highest quality gramophones. While the traditional classical and jazz cafés are slowly disappearing, there are new modern listening bars emerging, often concentrating on specific genres and even microgenres of contemporary music, with a focus on the same concept of concentrated and collective listening. Matthew came into a bit of fame through a little show called ‘Educating Yorkshire', which was broadcast on Channel 4 in September 2013, after which he became affectionately known as 'Mr Burton' to the wider public. The show focused on the day-to-day life of ThornHill Community Academy School in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire where he was an English Teacher, when the show was filmed. Stories focused on children and staff alike, from Year 9s struggling to manage school life to stressed-out Year 11s concentrating on their GCSE exams, teenage relationships, fights, bullying and one truly inspirational young lad called Musharaf. In this pod we talked about the show, how Matt, his colleagues and the students dealt with fame as well as Musharaf and the life-changing story which catapulted them both into the national spotlight. We also discussed his teaching journey to date, Matt's experiences of imposter syndrome and fatherhood, including his wife's miscarriage which occurred shortly before the filming of Educating Yorkshire took place. On this week’s episode we sit down with Matthew Burton. Originally from Cold Lake, Alberta, Matthew moved to Dartmouth at a young age and has been on the East Coast ever since. After high school, he decided to enlist in the RCN but after 5 years as a Naval Weapons Engineering Technician, Matthew realized he wasn’t content with his career and he left the Armed Forces. Matthew then spent two years at NSCC to attain a business diploma with a concentration in Finance. However, after a brief stint with a local hedge fund, he began realizing this wasn’t for him either. Now, Matthew has monetized his love for photography and videography and is currently planning the launch for his media company Loud Media. Listen in as Matt takes us through it all!

It's New Years Eve 2014 and we have just managed to get to our 30th episode thanks to the handy-work of Kammerton (real name Stepan Chernov), a diverse musical talent who hails from the Russian city of Ulyanovsk, located on the Volga River 900 kilometres east of Moscow. Now living in Moscow, Stepan is an accomplished pianist, kapellmeister (chapel master/director of a choir), electronic music producer, DJ, sound engineer, sound designer for films & cartoons and he also runs the video podcast www.friendly-vibes.com, which is as he puts it: "for all lovers of warm groove and high spirits". Stepan has played at many clubs across central Russia and has held residencies at Moscow clubs Shanti and Propaganda and also on RTS.FM Moscow. He first caught our interest with his slick production work, most notably the amazing Take Me For Granted EP from 2012 that was released on Housewax, from which the track "A Rising Tide Lifts All Boats" was played on Avenue Red Radio show 004: https://soundcloud.com/avenue-red/radio-show-004. This mix is a mega deep, dark and groovy session of mysterious House and Techno, with lots of new music featured. The unluckily numbered Avenue Red Podcast is a heads-down session of modernist Tech House & Techno from Grimsby-based Connor Hall AKA Conrad.
