What if the key to your financial future isn't just about making money—but about learning to truly control it? This special episode of Thrive LouD with Lou Diamond, recorded live at the Wall Street Conference in Palm Beach, Florida, tears the cover off conventional thinking around investing, entrepreneurship, and service, revealing what industry veterans, market legends, and unstoppable philanthropists are REALLY doing to move the needle.Key Highlights:Jon Najarian (“DRJ” from Market Rebellion) reveals why trading stocks alone just isn't enough anymore. He shares fascinating insights on the explosive growth of the options market—now outpacing stocks in dollar value traded—and walks you through how you can leverage options for greater financial control, even if you're not a math whiz. Jon also lifts the curtain on his journey to becoming the go-to TV commentator for market analysis, why media sensationalism can derail investors, and his core rule: “Trade the market you have, not the one you want.”Stephen Meade (“The Bullseye Guy”) details what it takes to build 17 companies, take three public, and master the art of targeting your entrepreneurial focus. He breaks down the upcoming revolution in digital equity exchanges, why $30 trillion in “green bond” capital is reshaping markets, and how every business—big or small—can think globally with new tech.John Rourke shares a genuinely moving story of post-military service, channeling his army-honed drive into massive community clean-ups, Southern border support, and first responder advocacy. You'll learn how one individual can mobilize meaningful change, raise money for good, and inspire collective action—without corporate resources or a big team.Listener Challenge: Pick ONE insight from this episode—maybe starting your own options account, reaching out to a local charity, or researching digital equity platforms—and take action this week. I went down to get a barrel of beer from Watermark Brewery, and it turned into one of my favorite conversations. Like many of us, the idea to jump into the world of hunting with dogs can get us a little over our skis. It's no different than anyone who has the passion to start something that they know nothing about. Yet they have the desire and passion to stick it out and make the best of it!!

What are some of life's simple pleasures? We chat St. Patrick's Day, and some more of your irrational fears too
Have you ever spent minutes searching for your keys, only to realize they were sitting right in front of you the whole time? Sometimes, we miss God's gifts the same way—hidden in plain sight, woven into our daily lives. Welcome to The Daily. We go through the bible verse-by-verse, chapter-by-chapter, every single day. Our text today is Ecclesiastes 3:12-13. I perceived that there is nothing better for them than to be joyful and to do good as long as they live; also that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil—this is God's gift to man. — Ecclesiastes 3:12-13 We often look for God in the big, dramatic moments—the miracle, the breakthrough, the answered prayer exactly how we wanted it. When that doesn't happen, we grumble. We assume God is distant, not listening, or withholding something good from us. But what if He's been giving us gifts all along, and we've just been too distracted to notice? This text is Solomon's reminder that joy isn't found in chasing the next big thing but in recognizing the simple gifts God gives daily. Eating a good meal, sharing a laugh with a friend, the satisfaction of a job well done—these are not just ordinary moments. They are divine gifts, placed in our lives by a loving Father who delights in giving good things. Yet how often do we overlook them? We complain about work stress instead of thanking God for the job that provides. We grumble about the weather instead of appreciating the warmth of a morning cup of coffee. We focus on what we lack rather than rejoicing in what we have. What would change if we started praising God for the small things? What if, instead of waiting for something grand, we simply thanked Him for the breath in our lungs, the roof over our heads, or the kindness of a stranger? Today's Challenge: Write down three small gifts in the comments below. Then thank God for each one. Lord, help me see Your gifts in the small, simple moments. Fill my heart with gratitude today. Amen. #Gratitude #GodsGifts #EverydayBlessings ASK THIS: What simple gift did you overlook recently? How do you define joy in your daily life? What small moment brought you unexpected happiness today? How can gratitude shift your perspective on tough days? DO THIS: Write down three small gifts you're thankful for and thank God for each one. PRAY THIS: Lord, open my eyes to see the gifts You place in my life each day. Fill my heart with gratitude for even the smallest blessings. Amen. PLAY THIS: I Thank God.

Both Second Chance winners Will and Drew make a good impression, John and Emily imagine what their dream Jeopardy! response would be if they were ever on the show, and Adam Hersh has the most "What is You Doing, Baby?" moment of the season so far. Plus, Emily is fuming at Drew's Instagram (though we still love Drew), Final Jeopardy! clues get tough, and we dive deep on "Silent Spring". SOURCE: NRDC: "The Story of Silent Spring". Wine has always been a part of Executive Winemaker Ben Papapietro's life. A native San Franciscan of Italian descent, Ben grew up with wine as part of every family meal and gathering. His passion for wine making caught fire in his early twenties as he explored wines from around the world. But the wines that really turned Ben's head were from the Burgundy region in France. During his 37-year career with the San Francisco Newspaper Agency, Ben met future partner Bruce Perry. Through their common passions—cooking and wine—they became fast friends. They joined together to make wine as a hobby in their garages. To hone their craft. they volunteered to work during harvest at a friend's Sonoma County winery specializing in Pinot Noir. Today, the Papapietro Perry cellar is simply a more elaborate version of Ben's garage wines. All the Links: LINKTR.EE/BARBARAFAISON 2024 - Week 29 - Life's Simple Pleasures! This is another episode about life's simple pleasures! Life's Simple Pleasures! Life is a journey. A trip. A deck of cards. Life defies a single definition because moment by moment, life changes. Life is different for each person every moment. Just as life changes, we change and grow based on our experiences. Treat yourself to something because you met a goal – celebrate! Life simply is. Being alive is cause for celebration! Take a moment to think of a reason to celebrate. Treat yourself to something because you met a goal – celebrate! Perhaps you didn't use your cell phone when you were having a meal. CELEBRATE! Every day find reasons to be grateful for life and celebrate! Sometimes it's just as simple as not beating yourself up about something you did. Now that is cause for a major celebration. Practice: Think about the music you've listened to, the movies you've seen, the friends in your life and how they may have changed over the years. Treat yourself to something you enjoy. You deserve it. Affirmation: I celebrate life and I am grateful for all my life experiences. End of excerpt. I hope you enjoyed the Embrace Change excerpt from my book/eBook/audiobook, Why Struggle? Life is too short to wear tight shoes. In my mid-year review episode, week 26, I mentioned M.E.E.T. - Money. Energy. Effort. Time. It's one of the ways I decide what I am willing to commit to. How much money, energy, effort and/or time will ____ take? It really helps me prioritize at this time in my life. In my mind, I love to think I'm going to become fluent in Spanish… Am I willing to commit the time, energy, & effort it takes? Nope. I can play around and understand Spanish better than I speak it. How bout taking a guitar class, since I was gifted a guitar over 20 years ago from a friend who was moving? Again, what money, energy, effort and time will I devote to learning to play? Maybe another time, right now, not so much. Feeling grateful to find my missing wallet behind my seat pad on the passenger seat in my car, receiving ole' fashioned tea cakes from one of my senior computer students and enjoying a meal at the Flying Biscuit with one of my dear friends are lovely memories to celebrate! TD, my hubby, had a birthday over the weekend so we enjoyed a lovely meal at a restaurant in Fayetteville and the waiter sang happy birthday in Lebanese. On Sunday, our youngest son, Dewayne, who is 20, treated us to a birthday breakfast. As we waited on the food, he and his dad talked “shop” - they were looking over pictures from a job site - they both are doing electrical work, at different places. I enjoyed watching them and truly felt joy and appreciation at such a simple pleasure. Indeed, I celebrate life and I am grateful for all my life experiences. What's something you are grateful for right now? You can leave a comment wherever you are listening to this podcast. Send us a Text Message.S5-E21, Ever wondered if a blackberry peri-wheat beer could tickle your fancy or if a barrel-aged sour ale is as complex as it sounds? My co-hosts, Princess and Dr., and I embarked on a flavor journey, sipping our way through craft beers that made our taste buds sing and our spirits soar. Not just beer connoisseurs, we're your pals with stories of golf course shenanigans, friendly neighborly assistance when the well pump called it quits, and the ever-amusing battle against nature's debris in our own backyards.Turns out, even a conversation about beer can lead to deeper discussions, like debunking the myth that healthy living is a luxury reserved for the wealthy. We shared a few chuckles over our past fast food faux pas, proving that while the golden arches can be tempting, a home-cooked meal might just be the hero we need for both our wallets and waistlines. Through a mix of light-hearted banter and personal anecdotes, we covered the fast food versus home-cooked meal conundrum, and just for kicks, tossed in our two cents on the great "beer popsicle" debate. To wrap things up with a twist, we dived into a barrel of trivia that ranges from curious facts about whales to eye-opening insights on global literacy. Our energetic debate on whether a unique barrel-aged raspberry beer deserves a spot in your fridge might just entice you to give it a try—or at least provide a good laugh. So grab your favorite brew, pull up a chair, and join us for a session that promises more than just another round of drinks—it's a toast to life's unexpected lessons and the joy of good company.Support the Show.www.anotherreasontodrink.com

Welcome to a new episode of Patriot on Purpose. Join us on a captivating journey with Chad Metcalf, where the high tides of Navy SEAL training meet the uncharted waters of unschooling advocacy. Chad shares tales of resilience, the pursuit of passion, and the transformative power of embracing challenges. From the battlefield to the classroom, discover how Chad's diverse experiences shape his approach to education and life. Highlights: "Failure just means feedback. If you're failing, that's giving you clues on what you need to do better, so that you can not fail in the same way again." "You have to learn how to learn... It's not about memorizing useless facts anymore. It's about learning how to access and apply information when you need it." "Being a patriot is... what can you do to make your country better, your community better, your family better? And I think like those things collectively... fundamentally change the direction of our country."
