Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (2015) is up next in our 'Running Away From The End of Youth' month. May the crisis continue evermore, as we revisit the film that made up most of Sam's dissertation back when she in her early 20s. It's okay though, we have some zombies and Dylan O'Brien to distract us. This film is one we both enjoy, hence the longer episode. It's weird how fun it is to not suffer through films. Who would have thought?Join us next week as we wrap this up with Maze Runner: The Death Cure (2018)

If there's one thing Diminishing Returns is good at, it's appealing to the youth... the cool kids. This episode is just for the young adults of the world; those youths that read young-adult fiction like The Maze Runner and then go to watch the young-adult movies based on the books like The Maze Runner. If it reads like this was written by someone too old to appreciate stuff for the kids, then that's probably because you're too old to get where the kids are even coming from... granddad. Go and listen to a show for old people, instead, like the episode of Diminishing Returns we did on The Godfather or something instead. Also, The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials.

Episode 79 features the L-Train and Mr. Two-Frames previewing a packed box office of new releases coming out for the September 18th weekend. First, Johnny Depp stars in the gangster biopic Black Mass. Depp's performance as Whitey Bulger is generating him early Oscar buzz for Best Actor award consideration. Another based on true events film opens this weekend, as Kate Mara and David Oyelowo both star in Captive. Oyelow plays escaped convict Brian Nichols who back in 2005 broke into a single mother's apartment and held her hostage after murdering the judge in his criminal case. Teenagers will be flocking to theaters to see Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, the latest adapted young adult novel set in a dystopian future(basically another rip-off of Hunger Games). This film picks up directly after the last film, as a group of teenagers have finally escaped the dreaded Maze only to find a new set of even greater obstacles now stand in the way of their freedom. Lastly, opening only on IMAX screens, is Everest starring Jake Gyllenhall, Keira Knightley, and Josh Brolin as mountain climbers in for the worst day of their lives. The film dramatizes the deadliest day in Everest's history after it was hit by a surprise snow storm in 1996. Are you going to the movies this week? If you do, then send in a review to the show.
