Tennessee-based artist Samantha Wood, began her career as an art educator. Her students’ ideas and boldness have served as a source of motivation for her. This eventually led to her desire to focus intently on her own paintings and practice. What began as a realistic approach has now developed into a colorful, crisp and lush style of her own. Samantha has been enamored with the work of Van Gogh since she was a child. His use of color has inspired her to exaggerate and intensify colors within her work. Samantha wants her art to exude excitement, growth and hope in a world that can sometimes feel dark and lonely. Since embarking upon her own artistic journey several years ago, Samantha has had a solo show and participated in juried art festivals.
