Following our inadvertent theme of multiversal mixup, in this off the rails episode Andrew and chrs recap and review the mad merry-go-round movie that is Teen Titans Go! vs Teen Titans.Notes:We apologize for the choppy sound editing towards the end of the episode. Andrew was up editing the episode at two in the morning because of work obligations. Our bad.We accidentally said episode 3 at the beginning. This is episode 4. “Avengers: Endgame'' released in April of 2019 and “Teen Titans Go! vs Teen Titans” premiered at SDCC in July of 2019, but the digital release was in September of 2019.Lil Yatchy did write a significant portion of “Act Up” by City Girls after saying “no homo'' before going into the booth. The literal definition of Satire is “the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues.”Teen Titans premiered in July of 2003 and the final episode, "Things Change," premiered in January of 2006, followed by the movie “Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo,” premiering September the same year. There's a 55-issue comic book called “Teen Titans Go!” based on the 2003 animated series and their continuity that's mostly collected in six trade paperbacks. The “Nevermore” episode indirectly references the poem “The Raven” by Edgar Allan Poe. Ironically, the word ‘nevermore' is a prophetic warning in the poem.In “Nevermore” Cyborg actually counsels against Beast Boy invading Raven's room. Minding his black-owned business. We stan. The alternate aspects of Raven are her “emoticlones” that serve as a physical manifestation of her true feelings.“Tiny Titans'' was a two-time Eisner Award winning series featuring alternate versions of DC Comics characters in an elementary school environment. The initial series ran for 50-issues from February of 2008 to March of 2012, and from 2014-2015, the series revived with a 6-issue miniseries - “Tiny Titans: Return to the Tree House”“Auld Acquaintance” is the 26th episode of Young Justice, and the first season's finale. The only Justice League member who doesn't get their shit rocked by the JV is Wonder Woman.I couldn't be bothered to look up the H.I.V.E. episode we were referencing, but it's interesting that their stupid battle catchphrases seem to parody Robin's “Titans, GO!”When Raven mentions facing her demons, she's directly referencing season 4 of Teen Titans.Santa Claus actually appears many times in Teen Titans Go! (largely as an antagonist) in the episodes “Second Christmas”, “The True Meaning of Christmas”, “The Teen Titans Go Easter Holiday Classic”, “Who's Laughing Now”, “Halloween v Christmas”, “Teen Titans Save Christmas”, and “The Streak”The stupid ‘Battle Ready Armor' joke is a reference to the ubiquitous armor worn by the teen ninjas in “Codename: Kids Next Door”Cyborg is the one who obtains the Worlogog after it goes flying out of Megan's hands, which is understandable - before he was cybernetically enhanced and became a superhero, he was a promising young athlete.Teen Titans Go! Cyborg has the nerve to have actually yelled out “Cyborg Cycle, Activate Alpha Maneuver 42 Delta!” without having agreed on any codewords ahead of time.Because of their mythological association with misfortune and misery, a group of ravens is called An Unkindness. We’ve got so much to talk about this week! Teen Titans Go: To The Movies is our main event but we also cover a few of Cage’s very weird cameos (fake noses, cinnabar and all), as well as the wild story about the Tim Burton/Kevin Smith/Nic Cage Superman movie that never was. Our guest is the cohost of the 91 Donkey Lane podcast, Nate Lopez.
When this episode was just a glint in the eye of the 80s kids we were aware that the "Joker" movie existed and that there was some "buzz" associated with the property. When we recorded the episode Joker was still a couple of months from general release. So, that will explain why we miss the opportunity of discussing how irrelevant Batman has become to Batman related properties. After the Dark Knight rose we, of course, got Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Irrelevance, a guest spot in Suicide Squad, and then, inexorably we went towards "Justice League". Ben Affleck got the filthy end of that particular stick and no mistake whatsoever. Suicide Squad, in fact, represents the last time to date that a movie has actively tried to pull eyeballs by mentioning the presence of one caped crusader. Of course, there's the Lego Batman movie... but does that really help. Add into the mix the presence of a non-verbal Bats in Teen Titans Go To The Movies and the proud absence of bat iconography emblazoned upon the face of popular TV epic Gotham and a pattern begins to emerge. You thought, no doubt, that Batman was waiting in the shadows, ready to strike at any time. Now you're beginning to suspect that those shadows are bat free and you're locked up all alone with the cowled one's gallery of sociopathic opposition. Who will save you? The *0s Kids? Nah, mate, we're just here to discuss matters and confirm that you, like Batman, are probably screwed. This episode uses an excerpt of Chant Of Night Blades by Kai Engel

This week the bros pay major respect and condolences to the great Stan Lee, a legend and a Comic Bro forever, Excelsior! The Bros talk opinions and thoughts on the new Pokemon: Detective Pikachu trailer released this past week. Are y'all fans already, or think Warner Bros ready to mess up another franchise? Either way we give our opinions on it all. The bros also talk Titans some more and Teen Titans Go To The Movies! Are you a fan of everything Teen Titans or only the original animated Teen Titans show? We also talk homework for some of the bros and movies that must be seen, but will it get done? And does someone have an obsession with the Holidays/Christmas in the Comic Bros? Will we ever find out the truth? The bros got delusional towards the end and all hell breaks loose with lack of sleep savagery! Hi Folks, this is a special episode as Ian had to deal with personal stuff, so we had Ted stop by to talk Teen Titans Go To The Movies. Ted is our emergency guest on this episode, and so the tone and pace are a bit different, but we also blew the budget on sound effects this episode, holy cow, like, there was so many sound effects, I think this turned into a morning zoo crew, we might tone it back down next week, and try not to reverb the audio because my monitor speakers were too dang loud. I also forgot we did the dragon ball discussion last week as well, but oh well, I think this episode was very fun, so many songs and introductions, every episode, we try something new, and I hope you like this one as well. I think the most important part is having a good time with your friends, and this podcast is just a fun experiment of things to talk about and discuss. One of these days I will go to CiCi's pizza buffet, but today is just not that day, I have indigestion.
FILMS DISCUSSED: THE MEG, EXTINCTION, TEEN TITANS GO TO THE MOVIES, WONDER WHEEL, LIZZLE, VENOM* Ron Placone is here to talk films and more with Chris and Graham. Ron and Chris were more critical of The Meg than Graham. Chris was disappointed with Extinction. Graham loved Teen Titans. Chris had no idea why Wonder Wheel was made. Two trailers and then Mile 22 looks good. This episode will open up the shark super highway.#tortureshark
This week on The First Run, Chris and Matt discuss three, count ‘em three movies! First up, it's Bo Burnham's debut as writer/director of ‘Eighth Grade'. The slice of life crowd pleaser from this year's Sundance finally hits the local cinema. Is it as endearing and wonderful as the critics say? Or should Chris just rewatch ‘Princess Cyd' or ‘Lady Bird'? Matt reviews ‘Teen Titans Go To The Movies', the big screen version of the popular cartoon show. But who saw a better family-friendly film? Because Chris saw Disney's ‘Christopher Robin', the premiere of a live-action (sort of) Winnie the Pooh, along with his friends from the 100 Acre Wood. There's the always reliable rundown of the big releases on Blu-Ray & DVD, featuring the Straight to DVD and Streaming Picks of the Week. Then the show wraps with the return of ‘The Lounge' where your intrepid hosts tackle all the latest news; Ruby Rose as Batwoman and her quitting of Twitter, Idris Elba being looked at for Bond, and the Oscars' Popular Film category. We begin this episode by celebrating the golden age of television animation by speaking on some of our favorite modern animated programs including Teen Titans, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Adventure Time, and Dan Vs. This rousing topic is inspired by the announcement of “Teen Titans Go To The Movies” which means we also can’t help ourselves and dive head first into a discussion about the cinematic efforts of DC. Devon then takes things up a notch and asks a question about deficiencies in modern technology that ends in The Say Report having the best idea ever for a modern day remake of all those weird, high-concept television shows from the past.
