Welcome to another powerful episode of The Empowering Story. I'm your host, Jean Dorff, and today; we delve deeply into the compelling and resilient journey of our guest, Elisabeth Henderson. In this third episode of our new format, Elisabeth opens up about a traumatic experience she initially tried to bury, the internal chaos and health issues that followed, and how her courageous path to healing has empowered herself and countless others. Elisabeth bravely shares her story of facing an attempted sexual assault by a trusted figure and the aftermath of suppressing the trauma, leading to severe mental and physical health struggles. We discuss her battle with an eating disorder, the importance of addressing suppressed emotions, and the transformative role of therapy in her healing process. Elizabeth's reflections underscore the complex interplay between outward success and internal turmoil, ultimately finding solace and strength through structured treatment and embracing her emotions without judgment. She also discusses the profound influence of music in her healing journey, particularly her passion for playing the harp. We explore her foray into classical music, her challenges in this competitive field, and how these experiences shaped her personal and professional life. Elisabeth's insights are entwined with her broader mission to support and empower others, a mission immortalized in her book, "The Courage to Own My Own Truth," available now on Amazon. Join us as we uncover the layers of Elisabeth's story, her dedication to sharing her truth, and the lessons we can all learn about resilience, community support, and the transformative power of owning one's narrative. As a young immigrant to the US, Akshay overcame drug addiction, PTSD from fighting in Iraq with the Marines, depression and alcoholism that pushed him to the brink of suicide.   By falling in love with his demons, he has since:   - Run 167 miles across post-war Liberia to build a school.   - Despite 4 biological defects including a blood disorder that 2 doctors said would kill him in boot camp, he is now a sponsored athlete and have run many ultra marathons, including an 80 mile run around a 0.2 mile loop and a 50 miler around a cul-de-sac during the quarantine.   - Spent 7 days in darkness, isolation and silence where he experienced DMT-induced, psychedelic hallucinations.   - Based on his life experience and years of research in neuroscience, psychology and spirituality, written the book Fearvana, about which the Dalai Lama said “Fearvana inspires us to look beyond our own agonizing experiences and find the positive side of our lives.” All the profits from the book are being donated to charity.   - Explored the most hostile environments on the planet, from mountains to underwater caves to polar icecaps - where he spent one month dragging a 190 pound sled 350 miles in temperatures as low as -40 degrees.   - Volunteered in leper colonies, worked with victims of sex trafficking, taught Fearvana to former child soldiers, done humanitarian work in post-conflict zones and worked with those in extreme poverty.

Her most recent book Merchants of Light, The Consciousness that is Changing the World addresses the expansion of the collective consciousness from self-consciousness to Cosmic Consciousness. It is a process thousands of years in the making, and you are a vital part of it.Indeed, Betty makes the point - and I agree with her - that beings have come from all over the Universe to participate in this project that has Cosmic Consequences. In this episode, we discuss a wide range of topics, and you can learn about:The power of the heart and the re-emergence of the Divine FeminineHow repetitive spiritual practices (of our ancestors) cause the various brain components to integrateThe importance of heart/brain coherence. The plan behind the Great ResetThe purpose of UFOsThere's a lot packed into this one conversation. Hidden In The Shadows Podcast

Taking place in the 1950s and formally ending in 1973 MK Ultra was a government based program that looked into the capabilities of mind control. This week on Hidden In The Shadows we dive deep and discuss the events and experiments that took place during the 20 year experimental programs. Starting out as a more structured project put on by the CIA ended abruptly after repeated abuse was found and in 1975 a congressional investigation took place looking into the project. Volunteered and unvolunteered persons were subjected to countless doses of LSD and other drugs as well as put into situations that completely broke down the mind and left them vulnerable for a series of dark events. With the MK Ultra events it also gave birth to a bunch of conspiracy theories. In this episode we break down the experiments, the events, if the CIA was successful and actually succeeded in mind control, and finally our views and theories on more of the paranormal aspect of the whole project and into the conspiracy theories!
