KGMI's Dianna Hawryluk talks to Patrick Starr from John L. Scott Real Estate about the Birch Bay Waterslides going up for sale.
Waterparks are the result of humanity's hubris of science. In this one, Ian and Liv revisit one of their favorite episodes for Disaster Hour's 3rd Birthday: Action Park! Throughout the 1980s, Action Park was an outdoor waterpark with waterslides that were straight out of a Stephen King novel. They were dangerous, exhilarating, and built with zero professional architects or rollercoaster engineers. Guests were injured, the park faced lawsuits, and the owner continued dodging the law for decades. Welcome to Action Park! Also, Justinepremieres as a new guest. Liv doesn't know how to use a calculator. Libby has imaginary friends. Dylan continues winning at life. Bob jumped off a cliff once. Ian confuses Tony Hawk and Stephen Hawking.

Kelsey chats with Jen (@diveintopoints on Instagram) from Wisconsin, who lives on a hobby farm with her husband and three kids (a 6 year old daughter and 4 year old twin boys). Jen, her family, and her parents headed to San Diego in October 2025 staying at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay, booked on points. In this episode, Jen shares about the waterslides and pools their kids couldn't get enough of, plus beach time at Mission Beach, beautiful sunset views, and their favorite moments at SeaWorld and aboard the USS Midway. Quick note: our connection dropped at the very end of recording, so Jen's answer to the final Trip Tales question is here in the show notes. If someone out there is considering this trip, what is it about San Diego and the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay that would make you say: Just Book It? I'd say just book it because you can't beat an easy trip to soak up the sunshine, slip down waterslides and enjoy a family friendly resort. Is Ed Davey the Anti-Trump? We digest the Lib Dem Conference. PLUS: A crazy 48 hours for Trump, even by Trump standards. Naomi Smith, Alex Andreou and special guest, Cambridge Law Professor, former Lib Dem MP and former Electoral Commissioner, David Howarth, discuss the rising threat of illiberalism, and the antidote. Including regular feature 'Grin And Share It'. ***SPONSOR US AT KO-FI.COM/QUIETRIOTPOD*** “Of the top twenty least-deprived constituencies in the country more than half of them are held by the Lib Dems. So, when Ed Davey says ‘we are the party of Middle England' it sounds to many that he means ‘the middle class'. This is the party that allegedly chose its target seats on the basis of being outside London but with a Gail's.” “The problem is assuming politics is about buying people's vote. That's an invitation for instability because you end up always disappointing voters - who feel they didn't get enough or others got too much. A politics based on values that offers hope can appeal to lots of people in different circumstances, and is not all about giving you an extra fiver and taking a fiver off the other lot.” “One of the things about Ed Davey is that what he says drives Reform UK party people crazy. And that's good. Because one of the major rules of politics is to work out what your opponent least wants you to say and say it.” “We need to be inside the new EU pact on migration and asylum. It is a burden sharing pact, but most of the things that people complain about would be solved within it: more information about the people we take, much easier returns, and an obligation for asylum seekers to apply only once, in the first country they land.” “What we are seeing [from Farage] is sinister. Reform is adopting a policy of ‘national preference' - the fundamental policy of the far right in France. I starts with citizenship. Who counts as a citizen? Who should be a citizen? If you listen to Le Pen, it shifts to dual citizens. Suggests they have divided loyalties. It then goes to a very dark place all about having ‘the right' ancestry.” “The gov't has a moral responsibility to reform the electoral system. We are not in a situation where Labour's partisanship over first-past-the-post ends up delivering a vaguely incompetent centre-right gov't. It could deliver a far-right gov't on 30% of the vote. It is morally reprehensible and irresponsible not to change the system.” “I'm much more worried about the rise of fascism than the rise in autism. All this Tylenol stuff is part of a portrayal of Gilead, basically, where women should not work or participate in civic society, but be at home, pregnant, and enduring as much pain as possible, in order to support the white patriarchy.” “I worry that all this forms a pattern of attack against evidence, a concerted attack on science, a sort of Endarkenment, an attempt to return people to a state of not knowing what to trust, in which Leader's Word becomes the only source of truth.” “This idea of ‘behind the scenes' doesn't really work with Trump. There is no ‘behind'. All of it is played out on the stage. Trump has this idea that he has to win the day, of a reality show, where at the end of each episode, Trump must be the winner.” CALLS TO ACTION: Subscribe to David Howarth's substack here. T Matthew Brown was raised in a secular, supportive household that valued intellect. He was out as gay from when he was 12. Show Notes Episode 454: “Where The F**K Did I Say Build A Waterslide?” Part Two of Summer Series 2024 This week Host Dave Bledsoe finds himself in a situation of over promising and under delivering vis-à-vie paying for the staggering amounts of drinks he has consumed. (The bouncers were not at all interested in the timeshare opportunity he offered in recompense.) On the show this week we turn back to the pulpit with the story of a man who loved God so much, he just HAD to build him a theme park. (And also stealing millions for himself) Reverend Jim Bakker. Along the way we discover that comes from a long line of people not good with money. (The difference being Dave just drinks with his money versus their trying to help people)Then we dive into a brief history of religion in America and why it has so many con men. (Again people, THE MONEY!) From there we meet a young man from Muskeegon who met the girl of his dreams and set out to build an empire with his faith. (Using other people's money, of course) We TRY to treat Tammy Faye as lightly as possible, we are not monsters. We meet Jessica Hahn, who was either Machiavellian jezebel or a twenty one year old victim of a powerful, amoral man. (We leave it to you to decide.) Finally we explain how it all fell apart. (You see, there was this waterslide.) Our Sponsor this week is St Matthew's Accounting and Bookkeeping, trust the name Jesus trusted with his money. We open the show with ABC new coverage of the scandal and close with Heart Attack, who have been talking to Jesus. Queuing up for HOURS to go on a 30-second water slide is so annoying! But what if you could pay money to go straight to the front of the queue? Going on a water slide can be so much fun, but not when you're standing in a massive queue in wet swimmers waiting for just 30 seconds of squealing excitement. Many water slide parks allow you to pay extra money for an express pass that lets you jump in front of everyone else waiting in line.Brains Trust – Westmead Public School, Sydney: Sarah, Mariam, Adhit, Kenny, Panayiotis, Alaina (CHECK SP) and Ryan
Lake Lanier in Atlanta is soon going to have an exciting new waterslide to make up for the fact it is one of the world's most haunted locations. Ghosts, unmarked graves, and summer fun!

Clients will often tell me that they don't need to use lube because there isn't anything wrong with them. This could not be further from the truth! There are many things that will affect your natural lubrication, including stress or dehydration, so having some lube you love at your fingertips will only make sex better. In this episode, we're going to talk about why we use lube, how to choose the right lube and what lubes I like the best. You should be using lube! Here's why. Some of my favorites: Coconu carries my favorite water-based and oil-based lube. Their hemp infused oil-based is a favorite of mine and can enhance orgasms. Use the code Amanda at checkout for 15% off. Uberlube is another favorite of mine. This one is silicone based. It has vitamin E, is so silky and soft, feels good on my skin, and is long lasting. It is also flavorless. Sutil is recommended if you have had a decrease in estrogen levels, either with menopause or breastfeeding. Other brands I've either tried or heard good things about: Sliquid, Aloe Cadabra, Waterslide, YES, and The Butters.

Chasing Tone - Guitar Podcast About Gear, Effects, Amps and Tone
Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for an all-new episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast!Wampler have released limited editions of two of their most popular products from the past, the Tweed'57 and the Black'65 "Amp in a Box" pedals, and Brian breaks down a little bit of the history of how they came to be. He also makes a number of potentially foolish video based confessions. Brian explains the core properties of the tone-stacks of the amp's these were based around, and how these pedals are a little different then normal drive pedals. He also explains the subtle improvements with the newer versions vs the originals, the unique switching modes, and the pedal gain structures - before hinting at a special set of videos...Richard has unusual pedal related habits and breaks them down whilst also telling the guys about the design changes on the new pedals. He has also been using a pedal he created himself on his rig and it has made him very very happy, and he made a new Fuzz pedal too and it was perhaps his most successful circuit build ever. His enclosure however - well that was a failure. A terrible yet amusing failure. Have you heard about the "Not for Josh" pedal from Poison Noises? Blake absolutely loves his and the guys talk about it. Richard, filled with confidence from his pedal build, asks some stupid questions. Blake then gives us a more detailed explanation of why Josh of JHS will never own this pedal. Never! Richard then asks how certain components work and Brian goes deep into science. NERD ALERT. Brian's potty mouth incursions, Waterslides, Licking solder, Three lugs, Voltage dividers, Oh cool - more bass...it's all in this week's Chasing Tone! This episode is sponsored by the fine folk at Pickupmusic.com and Stringjoy.comThanks to all our supporters - you are awesome! We are on Patreon now too!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/chasingtonepodcast)Awesome Merch and DIY mods:https://modyourownpedal.com/collections/booksFind us at:https://www.wamplerpedals.com/https://www.instagram.com/WamplerPedals/https://www.facebook.com/groups/wamplerfanpage/Youtube:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdVrg4Wl3vjIxonABn6RfWwContact us at: podcast@wamplerpedals.comSupport the show
