A Monster Tormented Them For YearsFrom 1977 to 1979, a family living in a remote house near the San Bernardino County mountains in Yucaipa, California, experienced repeated encounters with a mysterious creature they believed to be Bigfoot. The disturbances began one winter night with loud thuds on the roof, followed by sightings of a massive, hairy, bipedal figure that crossed roads, leapt fences, and lingered near their chimney. The creature's presence escalated over time, marked by foul odors wafting through open windows, blocked views of distant lights, and even direct confrontations, including a terrifying moment when it stared at the narrator's father through a window. Despite attempts to scare it off with shotguns and group pursuits, the creature persisted, harassing the family nightly—hitting the house, testing doors, and leaping off the roof—leaving them in constant fear until they moved out in 1979, an event the narrator, then a child, recalls as the happiest day of their life.Join my Supporters Club for $4.99 per month for exclusive stories:https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/what-if-it-s-true-podcast--5445587/support

Today's Amazing guest on Ability Beast Talk Mark Hemry! First guest of 2024! Mark Hemry has lived a life full of inspiration, positivity, and resilience. He faces adversity and obstacles daily with a glass-half-full mentality, always moving forward no matter what. As an autistic individual, Mark remains optimistic and believes in himself, largely thanks to his great support system. One of his biggest supporters throughout his life was his mother, Kathleen, who sadly passed away in 2020. This podcast interview with Mark is dedicated to her and the extraordinary life she led. Kathleen was born in Colton, California, and grew up mainly in Riverside. She graduated from Riverside Poly High in 1948 and married Alfred Albertus Hemry in 1951. During Alfred's service in the U.S. Air Force, the couple lived in various regions across the United States. They later settled in Denver, Colorado, as civilians, and returned to Southern California in 1959. Moving to Whittier, they focused on raising their only son, Mark. In 1978, Kathy began working for Rio Hondo Community College as a secretary for psychologist Robert Itatani, Ph.D., until her retirement in 1993. Post-retirement, she returned to the Inland Empire area, residing in Riverside, Yucaipa, and Loma Linda. Kathy had a lifelong interest in autism causes and actively participated in numerous early autism organizations. Later in life, she served on the Parent Steering Committee and the Board of Trustees at the Inland Regional Center for the Developmentally Disabled in San Bernardino. Without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, it's my pleasure to introduce today's wonderful guest on Ability Beast Talk—Mark Hemry!
Angie used to be in Yucaipa classes traveling an hour to get here until she moved to the east coast. We haven't spoken in quite a while but she volunteered to do a podcast and we talk about everything from unicorns to talking fish to Trump and self healing. If you'd like to do a podcast with Dr Marie let me know. This is not a professional recording. You will find flaws at one point I think we were cut off as the app stopped working and you might hear some background noises. I don't have introductory music and I don't have a producer. Just real life and an app.
Get an insider's peek into the glamorous yet complex world of film production in a conversation with film producer Darren Moorman on The Debrief Podcast with Matthew Stephen Brown. Darren's entry into the film industry wasn't just a professional move; it was a journey to align his faith-inspired stories with the awe-inspiring spectacle of film. Though shrouded with numerous trials like the writer's strike that slowed the industry to a massive financial slog, he has not been deterred. Darren, whose dedication to storytelling and steadfast faith have propelled his success in Hollywood, embraces these obstacles, demonstrating that bravery embodies not only survival but truly living.Questions we answer on this episode from our listeners:1. Janet from Yucaipa, CA. Should Christians watch horror movies?2. RJ from Bullhead City, Arizona. In Hollywood you hear stories of people selling their souls to Satan. Is this a physical contract you sign with a demon or is selling your soul more of you just living an ungodly lifestyle and choosing that life over Jesus or does nobody know? I love your sermons and I love the podcast! Thank you!!!3. Mark from Moreno Valley, CA. I went and saw the movie Oppenheimer the second day it opened, not knowing of the sex scenes. In a recent article from Denison Forum, it was stated that this movie, because of these scenes, caused millions of Americans to commit Adultery based on Matthew 5:28. I remember thinking when these scenes were shown, "why did they have to put this in the movie"? Just wondering what Pastor Matt's opinion is on this?4. Kimberly from Phelan, CA. I've been having a difficult time answering this question: "Is it sinful to support nudity or to see nudity.” It has been so normalized in today's society and it personally bothers me, but with some of my Christian friends it's normal to see. I understand that it doesn't say nudity is a sin in the Bible. However, I also think the action leading up to the nudity or the purpose behind it can make it sinful. An example would be viewing a scene in a movie where a woman is topless, taking a shower, topless in a bar, or a nude man in a random scene, etc. I believe that nudity is a sin if it does not have a godly purpose behind it, which is hardly ever seen in movies or tv shows. Like when God told Isaiah to preach in his nakedness to the people, that is okay because God commanded him to. Can you see people naked and it not be sexual on a screen or off?5. Anonymous from Loma Linda, CA. Is pedophilia as prevalent as the (typically conservative) media is making it seem in Hollywood?

It's just a typical day in the failed state of California. The state of California as a whole is collapsing because of the blatant liberal ineptitude of its leadership! Highlights: ● “With no legal deterrence against criminal activity, no law and order, criminals in California are blatantly brazen. They're willing to attack in broad daylight!” ● “Basically, as of last year, six out of every 100 Americans were buying guns. And it's growing!” ● “All of this suggests that citizen patriots really are rising up like never before! In the midst of the woke left's assault on law and order, citizens are banning together to defend their families, their property, and their communities, especially in places like California!” Timestamps: [03:21] California; a failed state like San Francisco [04:10] Antifas attacked in Yucaipa, California [07:31] Gun sales are through the roof Resources: ● Go to https://www.hometitlelock.com/turleytalks -- and use promo code TURLEYTALKS. In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Sahil Dosaj, owner of Miller Optometry in Yucaipa, CA, to share his experience in buying another practice to scale his business. Key Takeaways:The opportunity to scale can come along at any time. Be prepared and ready in your current practice location(s) to be able to say yes when the opportunity presents. Buying a practice means acquiring an established brand that has the opportunity to grow. It's important to recognize the value of the brand (good or bad) and leverage it or change it appropriately. Success in acquisition means having standardized processes strong enough that you implement them in the second business. Take into account what that location does well, but replicate the processes you have established. Be flexible enough to evolve and grow but replicate at the same time. Replication also involves the culture. Acquiring a business can mean acquiring great people and other times, it means people who won't get on board with the direction you're headed. Don't be afraid to let people go who aren't aligned with your mission, vision, and values. What Sahil is reading:The Great Game of Business by Jack StackThink Like a Monk by Jay ShettyAre you joining us for the PECAA Annual Meeting 4/20 to 4/22 in Nashville, TN?? Rev. Mark Stirdivant, pastor at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Yucaipa, CA, joins host Rev. Timothy Appel to study Ezekiel 22:1-31. The LORD calls His own city Jerusalem “the bloody city,” which surely shocked the people of God. The LORD shows His judgment to be true as He identifies a long list of ways His people have broken His commandments, abusing their neighbors and abusing their God. All of these sins find their center in the way the list concludes: Israel has forgotten the LORD. The LORD will therefore treat Israel as metal within a forge; when He sets fire to the city of Jerusalem, He will find no precious metal, but only dross. The leaders of the people, prophets, priests, and princes alike, have led the people in corruption. Though the LORD looked for a righteous man in their midst, none could be found; therefore, He poured His indignation out upon them. This points us forward to the day when the LORD sent the righteous Man, Jesus Christ, the very Son of God, to stand in the breach and take His wrath to win our salvation. “The Faithful Watchman” is a mini-series on Sharper Iron that goes through the book of Ezekiel. Just when Ezekiel should have begun his service as priest in the temple in Jerusalem, the LORD called him to be a prophet in exile in Babylon. Through fantastic visions and attention-grabbing action prophecies, the prophet Ezekiel is a faithful watchman who proclaims the word of the LORD to bring people to repentance over their sins and to faith in the coming Savior, Jesus Christ, the glory of the LORD made flesh.

A mandatory evacuation order is now in effect for over 8,000 residents in the areas of Oak Glen, northeast Yucaipa, and Mountain Home Village due to mudslide risks. This is an upgrade from Wednesday’s evacuation warning. The San Bernardino County Sherriff’s Department made the announcement at a press conference Thursday morning, January 28, amid growing concern that flooding and mudslides could be triggered by an incoming storm that could bring three to four inches of rain to the Inland region Thursday evening. “Don’t wait." said Yucaipa and Oak Glen Fire Chief, Grant Malinowski. "If we ask you to leave your home for your safety, please leave your home.” An evacuation order for mudslides is the first of its kind for the area, and local deputies will be moving door-to-door to inform residents. Road closures are likely as the day progresses, says the Sherriff’s department, so getting an early start before the rain arrives will help avoid gridlock. A Red Cross evacuation center is now

We have so many options to help our communities. We can't change the nation or the world, but we can work together to make our communities better. 2021 is up to us, not government. Government has failed us, but you and I can do so much to make our own communities better. This podcast is about trying to make our lives and communities better - by getting involved. HP headquarters have announced they are moving out of California and heading to Texas. That is a big deal because HP was the very first technology company to start in California way before even I was born. They set the road for technology to grow and now California is chasing them out. When taxes and the cost of doing business gets to oppressive on businesses, they move. They go to a state that is tax and business friendly. Companies who have moved from California to Texas has saved up to 32% their first year in operation in Texas. And less state compliance issues then there is in California. So the big question is how long can California last if businesses keep leaving their state? And when will Californians say enough and start making changes? Or do both groups even care anymore? The next question are we going to let it happen to the rest of America? Do we care? It's up to us to take back our nation because government has failed us greatly. HERE IS SOME SAFE, COZY COMFORT: a platter of pumpkins. We have a new episode up this week: Desairology (MORTUARY MAKE-UP) but if that's toooo spooky: This 2019 Cucurbitology episode is an Ologies all-time favorite. Also? It helped launch sweet, sweet Anne Copeland’s book to the top of the seasonal cookbook charts last year. “Pumpkin, Pumpkin!” is not only a thing to scream while passing a patch, but also the name of author and human delight Anne Copeland's gourd opus. Yes, she's so charmed by pumpkins that she dedicated a whole book to exploring their folklore, history, planting protocol, care, and cooking. On a lark, Alie stops by her house in the rural hamlet of Yucaipa, California to chat about everything from creation myths surrounding pumpkins to Anne's favorite recipes, how to make a pumpkin last longer on your porch, the secret medicinal properties of pipitas, why humans might need to go bananas on Halloween, how to propose via pumpkin, and the big flimflam Anne needs the world to know about the pumpkin origin story. Also: who is Jack and why does he have a lantern? Santa Ana winds caused the El Dorado Fire to flare up Tuesday evening to 11,479 acres, prompting new evacuation warnings. But KVCR’s Megan Jamerson reports crews were able to hold the perimeter overnight and increase containment to 19 percent. Nearly 1,000 personnel are battling the El Dorado fire flames on Wednesday along with over 100 engines, six helicopters, and four fixed-wing airplanes. An investigation of the number of structures affected by the fire and the extent of the damage is still underway. A number of roads continue to be closed including Highway 38 in both directions between Bryant Street and Angelus Oaks. Officials say with dry vegetation and unpredictable winds, the fire could change at any time. The area is currently under a Red Flag Warning. Residents should continue to check the San Bernardino County Fire Department’s Inciweb , Twitter and Facebook pages for evacuation orders. Portions of Mentone and western Yucaipa were under an evacuation warning as of Wednesday
Bryan Suits goes deep into local SoCal stories. The fire in Yucaipa was started by a gender reveal party, rattlesnakes fighting in Calabasas, and, oh yeah, it's hot outside.
We can approach a church service as our opportunity to serve the Lord through what we are doing during our gathering, or we can go to a church service with the expectation that we are going to be served by the Lord. We usually hold one approach as our predominant understanding of what is occurring when we gather. There is a church service order called the Divine Service. This is an order of service typically used within Lutheran traditions. Its name was mentioned in Episode 28, but not much was shared about what actually transpires in a Divine Service. So for this episode, Andy interviews Pastor Jaime Nava of Good Shepherd Lutheran in Yucaipa, CA, to learn more about what the Divine Service is and why Jaime thinks it is the best approach to sharing the Gospel during our church services.Show Links:Good Shepherd Lutheran Church - Yucaipa Episode 28 of Reconnect which Sparked the need for this Episode Jaime Shares that Law and Gospel is a Lutheran Distinctive and Episode 27 of Reconnect Explains both of These Terms The Divine Service - An Explanation at Steadfast Lutherans An Explanation of the Divine Service for Laypeople by Lutherans Online
