A podcast to inspire and motivate women physicians to be the leaders they are meant to be.
The Leadership Rx for Women Physicians podcast is an incredible resource that caters specifically to women physicians. As a female physician myself, I have found this podcast to be absolutely fantastic. The discussions are tailored to our unique experiences, challenges, and opportunities in the medical field. It creates a sense of connection and understanding among women physicians, providing valuable insights and guidance on how we can be the best versions of ourselves. I am thoroughly impressed with the content of this podcast and will definitely continue to listen to it.
One of the best aspects of The Leadership Rx for Women Physicians podcast is its ability to address relevant and timely topics. Dr. P consistently hits the nail on the head when it comes to choosing subjects that resonate with women physicians. These topics are thought-provoking and encourage self-reflection, personal growth, and leadership development. Furthermore, the podcast features incredible guests who bring their expertise and perspectives, making each episode engaging and informative. It is evident that a lot of thought goes into curating content that is valuable to women physicians.
While it is difficult to find any major flaws in this podcast, one minor drawback could be the occasional lack of variety in guest selection. While the guests are undeniably knowledgeable and insightful, it would be great to see a wider range of perspectives from various fields within medicine. This would provide a more comprehensive view of different leadership styles and strategies that can be applied by women physicians across different specialties.
In conclusion, The Leadership Rx for Women Physicians podcast is an amazing resource for all female doctors navigating their roles as leaders in healthcare. Driven by Dr. P's expertise and passion for empowering women physicians, this podcast offers practical advice, inspiring stories, and valuable insights that are tailored specifically to our unique challenges and opportunities. "Decisions are made for us by people that have no clue about healthcare. That's why we're in the situation we are right now with our electronic medical records. Because we weren't at the table to make these decisions. It was the insurance companies. It was the hospital administrators. But it wasn't the doctors that are going to be using these things. And that's why they're not physician friendly. If you're not at the table, you're on the menu. And we've been on the menu quite a long time." - Dr. Ana Viamonte RosDr. Ana Viamonte Ros currently serves as Assistant Vice President, Chief Well-being Officer, and Medical Director of Palliative Care and Bioethics at Baptist Health South Florida. She is also Associate Professor at the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine at Florida International University. “The system is broken, not us. Why should we change ourselves? You cannot fix physician burnout with meditation and yoga. Until the system is fixed, nothing will change. There is no point in telling us to change ourselves.”Time and time again, we rail at the system. How awful it is that as women physicians we face gender inequity, bias, racism and a whole multitude of problems. And we wait for the system to change, not considering the fact that we are part of the system. In this episode I show you through my own journey of changing some of the ways I acted and reacted how I could effect some change in my surroundings. By choosing to change in a positive way, I could turn a potentially damaging situation that had previously frustrated and angered me into a learning experience that changed my relationships at work.Choosing to change was not a sign of weakness. Instead, choosing to recognize where I could improve and taking the steps to do so, helped me become a better physician and leader. If you like what you hear, please give me a 5 star review, Like and Share this episode.

My guests Dr. Meera Kirpekar and Dr. Alopi Patel are two young anesthesiologists and fellowship trained Pain Medicine physicians who created a podcast and social media platform, The Female Pain Docs, to educate and empower patients as well to promote the use of social media for effective branding, networking and advocacy in the field of anesthesiology and pain medicine. They use social media to educate patients about our profession and allay any hesitations they may have from medical misinformation they may have seen online. As women physicians, both Dr. Kirpekar and Dr. Patel find themselves “a minority in the field of pain medicine, and their experiences have led them to believe that the female population is underserved in the global understanding of female-based pain syndromes. They are passionate in advocating for women's health, and as a result, their practice focuses on female patients.”Follow Dr. K and Dr. P online @thefemalepaindocs Listen to their podcast, The Hurt by the Female Pain Docs

When my dear friend and fellow podcaster Dr. Anjana Kundu asked me to talk about Leadership and Limiting Beliefs we as women physicians have, I was excited and thankful for the privilege to be on the other end of the microphone. This episode takes us through challenges women physicians face, not from external factors, but from within ourselves and the beliefs we have and hold close to our heart. Are you a female physician who feels that every minute you are not at work should be spent with your kids? That you sacrificed so much time away from them during residency that now you need to spend all your free time with them?Do you let feelings of guilt stop you from spending any time on yourself? In this episode, I talk about why it is important for female physicians to recognize that we need to take care of ourselves. That we cannot be the best mom or spouse unless we take care of ourselves.I talk about the importance of changing our mindset from thinking we are TAKING time away from our family to instead thinking that we are GIVING more to them by being more of our best self with them.
