In this episode of The Mamaverse Podcast we are diving into the topic of pain and its relation to our overall health and wellness with pain specialist, Robert Hull. Robert wasn't always super keyed into his health. His education started when he lost 100 pounds in a year and wanted to inspire others to be able to reclaim their health. What We Covered: Movement is medicine: There are preventative measures you can take when it comes to experiencing pain in your body It is common for people to have an imbalance of strength, flexibility, and even mobility. A discrepancy greater than 10% can actually cause pain. Sometimes, we seek concrete causes as the root of our pain, and when initial assessments don't diagnose the pain we turn to MRI or other imaging techniques. Imaging can be more mentally harmful for people than helpful, especially when the cause of pain is stress related and not tied to a direct injury visible in imaging. The Medical Community might over diagnose the pain seeking a treatment such as surgery to cure the pain, when noninvasive exercise, flexibility training, and stress reduction can make a major impact
Welcome Sheree Beaumont to The Mamaverse Podcast! Sheree started her wellness journey when she was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition at just 22 months old! To find answers, Sheree began exploring holistic and functional medicine What We Covered: Women struggle the most when it comes to hormones and gut health. Many women are unaware of the effects stress has on our body, how stress drives burnout. Moms are trying to do it all between careers and raising a family, and living in a constant state of stress. Exercise is a form of stress, but a good stress. Inflammatory foods: Gluten, Caffeine, Dairy, and Sugar. These inflammatory foods cause stress on your body. We are in an Obesity crisis: Gluten concentration has increased by 4 times. One slice of toast now actually equals 4 slices of toast. When added up, this can cause a massive inflammation response in the body. Gut health is connected with hormones: All disease begins in the gut. Sit down with your child and teach them to chew their food until it is liquified. Women of reproductive age should not be practicing intermittent fasting. Fasting research was done on men If you don't feed your body, it produces more cortisol, holds on to extra weight, and dysregulates your hormonal cycle because your body thinks it's starving Stay in touch! We cannot wait for you to hear this episode. Get ready for this one, Bethany is a highly dynamic and internationally known certified, holistic nutritional consultant. Bethany's focus is to guide busy moms to their optimum lives through nutrition. What We Covered: Holistic means looking at the full body mind, body, and spirit. Eating and food habits are oftentimes picked up from childhood and learned from parents. Holistic nutrition approach unpacks the stories around food which oftentimes stem from safety, scarcity, worthiness. It can take months or years to unpack and rewire thinking about food and eating. Kids naturally eat intuitively because they do not have emotions attached to eating and food. They will eat until they are full and they will generally eat a more balanced diet even when sweets, and snacks are offered. They know what they want and like. Holistic nutrition for your family starts with parents and moms. We need to give permission to moms to take care of themselves and do what they need so they can be their best for their family. Avoids burnout and resentment.

You can still benefit from therapy again later in life. If you've recently delivered, this time can have the biggest impact. Yes, this therapy can restore functions to prevent or remedy incontinence. Also helps improve abdominal strength and fitness. Your frequent bathroom trips are not normal and can be the sign of a weak pelvic floor. To get started, look up a therapist in your area and book an assessment. Focusing on kegels is old school. Your muscles might be too tight and practicing kegels can intensify your issues. Your pelvic floor is a reactive muscle. It should know when and how to work without thinking about it. Sometimes our muscles are out of sync and don't fire off at the right time.

Their name says it all: Larken means fierce in Gaelic. In this episode of the BeauGen Express Yourself Podcast, we hear the story of two fierce mamas on the search for a comfortable and wearable bra for working moms. Katie and Maggie, both formerly corporate attorneys, were in need of a bra that they could wear all day long, and also use to pump while at the office. Trying bra after bra, nothing laid flat, held their pump, or was comfortable enough to wear all day long. Trying to pump at work meant stripping down, changing bras, and praying no one opened their office door. While pregnant with their second daughters, Katie and Maggie gave birth to Larken X. What we covered: Katie and Maggie's story of breastfeeding and pumping at work. How they formed Larken in the wee hours of the night while their families slept. Everything a mom needs from a good bra and the design challenge this presents. Not all fabric is created equal. The patent-pending Larken X is the first all-in-one nursing and hands-free pumping bra without any irritating elastic, tags, snaps, zippers, or other hardware. Larken focused on details like flatlock seams to eliminate chafing and a moisture-wicking fabric so it's extremely lightweight and breathable. It feels like you're wearing nothing so our customers particularly love it for sleeping and for those final days of pregnancy and early days postpartum when you're extra sensitive and can be engorged. It's a perfect hospital bag addition.
