On today's show we open with a campaign spokeswoman for Biden saying the video and commentary of how he's walking around and talking is all disinformation from MAGA people. In other words, we are not supposed to see just how lost, frail, slow and addled our President is at the G7 meeting. They want you to believe the footage is somehow doctored? Who was it that leaned in and put his forehead against the forehead of the Pope? I want to cover some of the discussion that was had in the House Weaponization Committee regarding the Alvin Bragg hush money case against Donald Trump. We get word about jurisdiction, about protecting the rights of defendants, due process and about the Bill of Rights. At the same time, Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) notes an interesting coincidence on the timeline of when all four of the cases against Donald Trump started. We then discuss the redacted transcript that was just released between Special Counsel Robert Hur and Joe Biden's ghostwriter. It seems Joe knew very well he was not supposed to be in possession of classified documents and that he wasn't supposed to share them. Just as with the Biden audio, we need to get the audio of that interview to find out just how badly Joe Biden broke the law and put our national security at risk just to write a book. There is a deliberate move afoot to call our kind of governance a democracy rather than a republic. There are huge difference and we need to be sure we never become a democracy. It's not an innocent slip. This is intentional. It seems I may have hurt Fani Willis's little feewings because she doesn't like being called “fanny.” Well, as far as I am concerned, it will always be the big Fani Willis RICO case and the Big Fani Willis Reality TV Show. Donald Trump drops a :60 second social media spot filled with real quotes from stumbling, mumbling Joe Biden. It's a pretty effective ad. Finally, we end with a quote from an ordinary citizen who is sick and tired of seeing Lawfare being waged in our country. She knows without the rule of law and the Constitution, we will lose our republic. She's right. Take a moment to rate and review the show and then share the episode on social media. Today we spend a lot of the show going through the open hearing of the House Oversight Committee on the issues happening at our southern border. To understand the depth of the problem, we first need to know the different between immigration and border security. While similar and maybe even overlapping, they are not the same. Our border czar, VP Kamala Harris does not seem to know the difference. She also seems to think Joe Biden wrote the bill for new immigration laws. That's not how our government works. So, for those who might need a little education, we turn to School House Rock. Biden campaign spokesman Quentin Fulks embarrassed himself when asked about the issues at the border and how Americans hold Biden accountable. We can only describe Fulks's statements as outright lies and fabrications. And that's being kind. In testimony today, a veteran of over 30 years of service with the Border Patrol, Tom Holman stated the policies of the Biden White House for the border are intentional. I've been telling you that for a long time. Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) and Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-WI) had a few questions back and forth with the witnesses, including one representing the Biden regime. By the end, if you still think the border is Donald Trump's fault, I have a bridge in the desert I need to sell you. Changing to a few other subjects, it seems the intent to hide Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin's medical emergency was done on purpose from the very beginning. A 911 call reveals his aide asking for the ambulance to not use it's light or sirens because they wanted to keep it subtle. Donald Trump had to be in a New York City court, dealing with the case E. Jean Carroll brought, where he was trying to avoid paying damages to a woman who said he sexually assaulted her in a high-end department store dressing room. Come to find out, her story matches a sub-plot from one of her favorite television shows. And, to top it off, for those who don't remember, she revealed herself to be a delusional woman when she appeared with Anderson Cooper on his show. JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon tells people on CNBC that people are voting for Trump because of his policies because he was right on so many of the big issues. He also said the Democrats attack on “MAGA” were childish and don't make any sense. It's nice to have an adult in the room! A TikTok'er who goes by IreneBritUSA took apart MSNBC's Rachel Maddow for her excuse to not carry the Trump victory speech on the show. It was great to hear from an average, ordinary person who sees right through their blatant attempts at censorship. Bill Maher manage to unwittingly get Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) to admit he isn't for equity, but rather is for equality. Someone will likely need to do some damage control after that one. Finally, in a speech at Davos at the World Economic Forum, newly elected president of Argentina, Javier Milei, put his thumb in the eye of all the world's would-be Authoritarians. He stands for freedom and liberty and says we (the people) are the protagonists in this story. Take a moment to rate and review the show and then share the episode on social media. Today's show opens with the two most important lines from yesterday's GOP debate. To be honest, I didn't even know it was last night. They are all competing to see who gets to come in second behind Donald Trump, anyway, so there isn't much to watch. However, Vivek Ramaswamy opened with one of the best rebukes of GOP Chair Ronna McDaneil and an equally massive indictment against the Legacy/mainstream media. It was glorious to behold. He then closed the evening with a reminder that Joe Biden is not really the president, but more of a spokesperson for the unelected bureaucracy. CNN just fired a Palestinian journalist after he claimed he “embedded with” Hamas terrorists during the October 7 attack. This lends suspicion that this person was well aware of the impending attack and chose to keep quiet. There is even a picture of him being kissed by a Hamas commander. Earlier this week, Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) was censured in the House. After her constant lies and anti-Semitic hatred, the House had had enough. She continues to employ taqiyya – the element of Sharia Law that allows a Muslim to lie and even denounce their own faith if their virtuous intent is to fool their enemies enough to gain their trust and then harm or kill them. That's what she is doing. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre thinks she sorta, kinda may have seen some reporting about people ripping down the missing and kidnapped signs in place. But, she wants you to know, she's just not going to into specifics on that particular thing. Why? Because she cannot alienate a large segment of her own Democrat voting block. Oh, if you missed it earlier this week, an amendment was proposed on the House floor to lower Secretary of Transportation, Pete Buttigieg's salary down to one dollar. Apparently he was caught being driven to within a few hundred feet of work and then gets on his bike and rides the rest of the way to virtue-signal his commitment to fighting climate change. Well, thanks to Karine's games, Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY) has introduced an amendment to also lower her salary to one dollar. Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) had a wonderful grilling of DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on the border and border policy. He closed with a perfect description of the competence of the walking male member with eyebrows. “Either you're not qualified to manage a Costco food court or you believe in open borders.” Finally, Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) says their Oversight Committee has tens of thousands of bank activity reports and hundreds of suspicious bank activity reports on the Bidens. He says they have the evidence and it looks like the Bidens were involved in money laundering, selling access, bribes and corruption. Accordingly, Rep. James Comer (R-KY) has signed off on dozens of subpoenas for members of the Biden Crime Family Syndicate. Take a moment to rate and review the show and then share the episode on social media. Steve Scalise (R-LA) may be the next Speaker of the House. Fahlberg writes: “With the House speakership hanging in limbo after Kevin McCarthy's ouster Monday evening, allies of the former speaker say House Majority Leader Steve Scalise currently has the clearest path to the speakership as he continues to gauge support for his newly announced bid. But the race is early, and there is widespread concern among different House GOP factions about his health…with a host of House Republican sources cautioning that Scalise's blood cancer diagnosis is causing many McCarthy allies to keep their powder dry, even if his health issues aren't necessarily disqualifying.” You can read the full article here: https://www.nationalreview.com/news/mccarthy-allies-say-steve-scalise-has-clearest-path-to-speakership-but-point-to-concerns-about-his-health/ Speaking from a New York City courthouse, Donald Trump told reporters that he would consider accepting the House speakership position if Republicans thought it would be in their best interest. Burrowed among them is the White House's recent sabotage of the H-2A and H-2B visa programs—which help employers legally recruit seasonal workers, such as farm-hands and landscapers.” You can read the full article: https://nypost.com/2023/09/30/bidens-visa-rules-hurting-migrants-small-businesses/ 5:15pm- Speaking with Fox 29, Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner was asked about the wide-spread looting that plagued the city last week. Today's show is a full recap of yesterday's IRS whistleblower sworn testimony before the House Judiciary Committee. While the Republicans seemed focused on getting facts out to the American people, the Democrats were doing all they could to avoid any relevant topics and to throw shade. The only Democrat who stepped in it was Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) who blew it so badly, even Jonathan Turley wrote a piece about it. To start, we look at some of the comments from Democrats in the Committee. Rep. Kweisi Mfume (D-MD) seems to believe we are something other than a Constitutional Republic. In his mind, the DOJ, the FBI and the IRS are there to help keep us all in-line. Not sure what form of government he think we are, but that's not it. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wanted to focus on climate change, the gun debate and equity. The one thing she did mention in which I am in total agreement is in getting US Attorney David Weiss in front of the Committee. Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) played cute and tried to make it look as those the IRS whistleblowers represented the overzealous Javert, who persecuted the poor, innocent Jean Valjean, when he evoked Les Miserables. In his mind, Hunter Biden is being needlessly persecuted by over-the-top IRS agents. But, the devastating moment came from Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) who tried to be cute and make it look like Joe Biden didn't know about his son's business dealings with CEFC China Energy. Instead, he ended up implicating Joe Biden as being keenly aware of his son's business dealings – something Joe has denied since before the election. So much for that line of defense moving forward. Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) did get to another point of how Hunter claimed a hotel room expense for his dad as a business expense. So, either Hunter lied on his taxes and tried to claim a business deduction that wasn't true. Or, he was telling the truth and Joe Biden was involved in yet another business dealing with Hunter. Either way, it's bad. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) decimated the coordinated effort by Democrats to co-opt the two-tiered system narrative. While Democrats bemoaned the inequity of IRS audits happening to more black and brown people, Luna pointed out that those same Democrats were bending over backwards protecting a privileged white man! Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) reminds us the investigation did not start with Hunter Biden. However, now that it has moved to him, there is over $17 million dollars of known transactions that have flowed from Ukraine, China and Romania into the Biden Crime Family. Finally, in a beautiful exchange between Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and IRS Agent Gary Shapley that as soon as “Main Justice” was contacted, the entire investigation came to a grinding halt. Jordan also suggested the need to get AG Garland, US Attorney Weiss and other top Justice officials before the Committee to help explain the shift in the investigation. As Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) states, for Garland, it's like he's flushed the toilet and the water is suddenly rising. He's got a serious problem on his hands. Today's show opens with a look at how we used to revere and protect whistleblowers, but it seems that time has passed. As I started to record today's show, the House Judiciary Committee was taking testimony from the two IRS whistleblowers, including one who had been referred to as Witness X. It turns out, that second witness is Joseph Ziegler, a gay Democrat with over a decade of experience on some of the most sensitive and high-profile IRS investigations. As Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) states, the testimony the two whistleblowers have given hasn't changed. Yet, over the last 33 days, the Department of Justice has changed their story at least three times. In fact, just two days ago, another FBI whistleblower came forward and corroborated their stories. Coincidentally, that same FBI agent was threatened by FBI legal to not cooperate with the Committee. Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) stated, prior to the hearing, that their committee was well over $30 million dollars in payments flowing into the Biden Crime Family Syndicate. And, after detailing just how insidious that corruption is, did use the word “impeachment.” Once again, these people are saying the right words, but we need more than that at this point. We need action. Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) was asked about what we know so far and said the IRS whistleblowers would add another layer of credible testimony to their investigation. According to other members of the House Judiciary Committee, they believe upwards of $100 million dollars have been paid to the Biden family. I guess there is a price where someone feels it's acceptable to sell-out their country. Who knows? Maybe in their minds, by getting away with it for as long as they have, they just never thought about it as being harmful. It's just how Washington, D.C. works, right? It seems that's the new thinking for insiders. Anyone from the outside has to be destroyed. That explains why, as Trump gains even more support from Americans for 2024, we get word that Jack Smith, under the direction of Merrick Garland as Attorney General, seems poised to charge Donald Trump with the crime of insurrection. After all, it's in the 14th Amendment. If a jury agrees with that bogus charge, the Constitution would forbid him from hold any public office ever again. They are so desperate to achieve that end, they are wiling to ignore that very Constitution. Similarly, the AG for the State of Michigan, Dana Nessel, has decided to bring felony charges against 16 electorates who wanted to cast their votes for Trump in 2016, even though the state won the popular vote for Biden. Constitutionally, that is actually permissible. In fact, if you remember, back in 2016, after Trump beat Hillary Clinton, there was a concerted effort to convince 36 Republican electors to change their vote. Funny how it was okay then, but it's a felony now. Lastly, we turn to my new favorite Geologist, Professor Ian Plimer and his thoughts on climate change. He sums up in 2 minutes the perfect answer to those who want to continue to perpetuate the hoax. We need to know our past before we can understand our present. How very true indeed. The Rich Zeoli Show- Hour 3: The Drive at 5: During Thursday's House Judiciary Committee hearing on Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) Reform, Inspector General Michael Horowitz seemingly conceded that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has conducted more than 3 million warrantless searches of communications involving American citizens. Congressman Andy Biggs (R-AZ) alleged that the FBI has been conducting, on average, 559 searches per day—Biggs concluded, “that means, in my opinion, they have broken the rules 559 times per day.” On Wednesday, American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten testified during a House Oversight and Accountability Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis. During the hearing, Weingarten claimed she attempted to reopen schools during the pandemic as quickly as possible—but since there wasn't “clear scientific guidance” her union had to “do it themselves.” While questioned by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), Weingarten accused Florida of banning books and instigating a “culture war.” Howard Stern weighs-in on Fox News' decision to fire Tucker Carlson—the rant is even less funny than you're imagining. What happened to Stern? A biological male—Glen “Glenique” Frank—who identifies as female defeated 14,000 women competing in the 2023 London Marathon.
The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (04/27/2023): 3:05pm- On Wednesday, President Joe Biden appeared to be using a “cheat sheet” while speaking with the press. The sheet appeared to list pre-approved questions from specific reporters—along with written responses President Biden could use. 3:15pm- While speaking with a group of children on Thursday, President Joe Biden was asked to name his favorite movie but couldn't remember the name—it was Top Gun: Maverick. 3:30pm- Listeners call-in with their favorite Joe Biden movie descriptions: “you know that movie in space with stars and all the wars. You know the one!” Star Wars? 3:45pm- On Wednesday, American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten testified during a House Oversight and Accountability Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis. During the hearing, Weingarten claimed she was unable to recall when she first began consulting with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) on remote learning measures because she is in her 60's and, consequently, her memory isn't particularly strong. Weingarten also told Congress that she never suggested revisions to CDC guidelines, she merely presented the CDC with “ideas.” 4:05pm- Jeffrey Tucker—Founder & President of the Brownstone Institute—joins The Rich Zeoli Show to discuss his latest editorial, “Top Ten Quotes from the NYT Fauci Interview.” Tucker writes, “[b]illed as the most in-depth interview yet, the New York Times published a very long piece that contains some rather startling admissions, claims, and defenses from Anthony Fauci, the face of lockdowns and shot mandates” including Dr. Fauci's claim that he was not responsible for shutting down a single factory or school nationally. You can read Tucker's full article here: https://brownstone.org/articles/top-ten-quotes-nyt-fauci-interview/ 4:30pm- During her Thursday press conference, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre struggled to explain how the administration decides which reporters and news outlets President Joe Biden will call on during press events. 4:40pm- On Wednesday night, Tucker Carlson posted a video to Twitter addressing his Fox News firing for the first time—hinting that he will be returning soon, though he did not specifically mention in what capacity or where he would be seen/heard. 4:50pm- According to a report from Gordon Lubold of The Wall Street journal, “[n]early two years ago, an errant spark inside a mill caused an explosion so big it destroyed all the building's equipment…It also shut down the sole domestic source of an explosive the Department of Defense relies on to produce bullets, mortar shells, artillery rounds and Tomahawk missiles. The ramshackle facility makes the original form of gunpowder, known today as black powder, a highly combustible material with hundreds of military applications. The product, for which there is no substitute, is used in small quantities in munitions to ignite more powerful explosives…the factory remains offline, unable to deliver its single vital component to either commercial or Pentagon customers… Today that's emerging as a gnawing problem for the U.S., whether in supplying weapons and ammunition to Ukraine or in restocking reserves to prepare for a potential confrontation with China in the new era of great-power competition.” You can read Lubold full article here: https://www.wsj.com/articles/the-u-s-military-has-an-explosive-problem-6e1a1049?mod=hp_lead_pos7 5:05pm- The Drive at 5: During Thursday's House Judiciary Committee hearing on Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) Reform, Inspector General Michael Horowitz seemingly conceded that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has conducted more than 3 million warrantless searches of communications involving American citizens. In August, Biden announced a plan to eliminate $10,000 in student loan debt to borrowers who make less than $125,000 a year and $20,000 in loan forgiveness to Pell Grant recipients. The policy, which has been blocked by federal courts prior to the Supreme Court's review, would cost $400 billion over the next decade, according to the Congressional Budget Office, which said it was "highly uncertain" about the estimate. Meanwhile, a study from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business said the cost could easily exceed $500 billion. In January, Biden’s Department of Education unveiled new proposed regulations that substantially overhauled the department’s income-driven repayment program, which allows low-income borrowers to make lower monthly payments than their loan would otherwise provide. The Penn-Wharton model estimated that the total cost of the proposed changes to the income-driven repayment program, coupled with the widespread forgiveness plan, could push the cost beyond $1 trillion. The plan, despite its eye-popping price tag, has drawn praise from members of the president's party, who blasted Republicans for attempting to block the policy. In contrast, Republican politicians have blasted the policy as an unfair redistribution of wealth from noncollege-educated workers to educated elites and raised alarms about the policy's cost to the taxpayer. Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) noted in a statement to the Washington Examiner the plan's accompanying price tag and added that the administration's continued extension of a pause on collecting payments had cost "taxpayers $195 billion.” House Education and Workforce Committee Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC) told the Washington Examiner that she was optimistic that the court would strike down the administration's policy and called on the president to work with Congress to reform the federal student loan program. https://www.forbes.com/sites/markjoyella/2023/02/28/cnn-hits-10-year-low-in-prime-time-as-fox-news-glides-to-victory-in-february-cable-news-ratings/?sh=580e7cfa7d09 CNN Hits 10-Year Low As Fox News Glides To Victory In Cable News Ratings February marked CNN’s lowest-rated month in a decade, with the network’s prime time lineup dropping 42% among viewers 25-54—the key demographic group valued by advertisers—compared to the same month one year ago. CNN drew an average prime time audience of 122,000 viewers in the key demo, compared to Fox News Channel’s 299,000 viewers (down 33%). MSNBC was third overall with 119,000 viewers (down 15%). Among total viewers, Fox News dominated prime time with 2.262 million viewers, followed by MSNBC (1.165 million viewers) and CNN (587,000 viewers). All of the networks saw year-over-year declines, with CNN down the most at 24%. Fox News was down 14% and MSNBC declined the least, down 2%. Fox News had 94 of the 100 most-watched telecasts in February, which marked two consecutive years as the highest-rated network in cable news, among both total viewers and viewers in the key demo. The most-watched show in cable news for the month was FNC’s The Five, which drew an average total audience of 3.310 million viewers, followed by Tucker Carlson Tonight (3.303 million viewers), Jesse Watters Primetime (2.833 million viewers), Hannity (2.684 million viewers), and Special Report with Bret Baier (2.439 million viewers)—all airing on the Fox News Channel. In the key demo, Tucker Carlson Tonight finished the month in first place with an average audience of 461,000 viewers, followed by The Five (371,000 viewers), Hannity (355,000 viewers), Gutfeld! (322,000 viewers), and Jesse Watters Primetime (314,000 viewers)—all airing on Fox News. https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-admin-asks-congress-to-reauthorize-fisa-surveillance-powers Biden Admin Asks Congress To Reauthorize FISA Surveillance Powers Ahead of an expiration date at the end of the year, the Biden administration formally requested on Tuesday that Congress reauthorize Title VII of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), a controversial spy program used to combat threats around the world. Attorney General Merrick Garland and Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines sent a letter to congressional leaders arguing that maintaining Title VII is a “top legislative priority” for the Biden administration. The letter places particular emphasis on Section 702, which was enacted in 2008 and is used to monitor non-U.S. citizens abroad, but Title VII also contains other sections that concern procedures and protections for surveillance of U.S. persons abroad. Garland and Haines argue Section 702 has been critical in identifying and protecting against national security threats to the United States and its allies, including “conventional and cyber threats” posed by China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea. They listed some examples touting Section 702’s usefulness, including noting that it contributed to the operation that led to a CIA drone strike in Afghanistan killing Al Qaeda leader Ayman Al-Zawahiri in 2022. Privacy and civil liberty advocates have raised concerns about warrantless surveillance due to the mass incidental collection of data, including the communications of Americans in contact with a foreign target, and the mishandling of surveillance powers, such as the FBI’s targeting of a Trump 2016 campaign aide using an unverified dossier. Some lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have already signaled opposition to FISA as it stands. Among them are Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), who this month called for “meaningful reforms” to protect Fourth Amendment rights, and Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ), who sent a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray two weeks ago demanding answers about “backdoor searches” sifting through FISA data that appear to have targeted politicians. Members of Congress will have a chance to grill the Biden administration about the FISA program, as Garland and Haines are set to appear before key committees in the coming days. https://www.dailyfetched.com/toxic-chemical-waste-from-ohio-is-now-headed-to-other-states/ Toxic Chemical Waste from Ohio Now Headed to Other States Contaminated waste from the toxic train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, is being shipped to Indiana and could also be heading to other states in the wake of the ongoing cleanup. There have already been fifteen truckloads of toxic waste disposed of in Michigan, while five truckloads carrying 280 tons had been in East Palestine, according to an update from Ohio Governor Mike DeWine’s office. The report added that liquid waste had been disposed of at a Texas treatment site, while 02,000 gallons of liquid waste remains in East Palestine. EPA’s regional administrator, Debra Shore, said that solid waste would be sent to an incinerator operated by Ross Environmental Services in Grafton, Ohio, and also a Heritage hazardous waste landfill in Roachdale, Indiana, which also operates the facility in East Liverpool. The two facilities in Ohio, which began taking in shipments on Monday, “don’t have enough capacity to handle all the liquid and solid waste from this cleanup,” Shore explained. This means the agency had to look for other disposal locations. Meanwhile, a demonstration held by local Republicans and residents in Michigan said: “Stop these shipments. Do not bring these shipments to Michigan.” Texas officals said they were unaware that toxic materials from the crash were being sent to a site near them until they heard about it from the press. “That’s unacceptable,” Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo said. “I know our community was taken aback by the news just as much as I was.” The Ohio derailment saw 38 rail cars containing hazardous material go off the tracks earlier this month. Ohio residents have since complained of mysterious symptoms after being exposed to the toxic chemicals Officials have since discovered toxic chemicals in the soil surrounding the derailment site and in nearby waterways. Last week, an attorney representing more than 30,000 people impacted by 9/11, warned East Palestine residents not to trust what the EPA says about water quality. Accountable2You Jesus is Lord. Or, for that matter? Brushes with the law here and there. Irvin has been arrested multiple times over the years for everything from drug possession charges to assault. Always volatile, the former University of Miami Hurricane has been known to display an explosive temper. One that he displayed quite often. In an incident that took place at the Cowboys’ training facility in 1998, he stabbed teammate Everett McIver in the neck with a pair of scissors when the younger player refused to get up from a barber chair. Though McIver survived the attack, the wound could have been fatal. Irvin’s checkered history also includes multiple allegations of sexual misconduct that date back to the early days of his playing career. In 1996, a woman alleged that she was sexually assaulted by Irvin and his Cowboys teammate Erik Williams. Authorities concluded that her allegations were fabricated. The accuser later recanted her story. In 2007, Irvin was accused of sexual battery by a woman who said he got her drunk and raped her at a Florida hotel. Criminal charges were never filed, but she filed a civil lawsuit in 2010. Fort Lauderdale, Florida, police investigated Irvin for an alleged sexual assault on March 22, 2017. Then, on July 24, the Broward County State Attorney’s Office announced they had closed the investigation and would not charge Irvin in the case. Flash forward to 2023. Prior to this year’s Super Bowl coverage, Irvin was pulled from his duties as a commentator for the NFL Network, due to more allegations. This time, it was for an exchange at a Marriott hotel between the Hall of Famer and the accuser. However, details both then and now regarding their interaction remains unclear. Irvin immediately denied any wrongdoing, saying that his only interaction with the woman included nothing more than a mere handshake. “We shook hands. Then, I left. … That’s all I know,” Irvin explained to The Dallas Morning News when the story broke. From the beginning, Irvin has professed his innocence, and he is now asking for surveillance video to be released to clear him of any wrongdoing. The Playmaker is also now pursuing legal action against the woman and the hotel chain, and he got a big win in the matter late last week. Irvin’s lawyers had been arguing that he had the right to view the video, as the accusations involved could jeopardize not only his public persona but his potential to earn millions as a television personality, as well. In essence, they are looking to clear the star’s name completely. It must have worked because it appears now that Marriott hotels and their parent company won’t have much choice in the matter. A federal judge ordered Marriott to release the Michael Irvin security video. On Friday, things came to a head in the matter when Judge Amos Mazzant III ruled in the East District of Texas that Marriott has until 5 p.m. on Tuesday to answer the request for “any and all video recordings, written reports, and/or witness statements gathered that pertain to Michael Irvin’s stay at the Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel in February 2023.” This is not a notice to produce the video and other materials, it’s merely setting a deadline for Marriott’s response. It’s still not clear how this will all play out. And unless someone decides to fold, this could be a long standoff between the parties involved. In most legal situations such as these, it is essentially the ‘smoking gun,’ the evidence that will make or break a case. Marriott’s only argument here could be claiming that the footage is private property. However, it’s looking more and more like the corporation will be forced to give up any pertinent material they have in relation to the complaint.
