The Three Old Hacks talk political memoirs this week. Were they always as salacious, and as quickly turned round post-administration as they are now?Barely has the imprint of the politician's backside faded from the leather of the despatch box before somebody is telling all.Former BBC Sports editor Mihir Bose, Economics editor of The Sunday Times and political analyst Nigel Dudley discuss Sarah Vine's book How Not to be a Political Wife. She and her then husband Michael Gove were close to David and Samantha Cameron before the Brexit referendum ended the friendship, and she says, her marriage. The Three Old Hacks look back fondly to the days when MI5 put it about that Prime Minister Harold Wilson was a communist in thrall to Russia and everyone thought he was sleeping with his secretary, when in fact it was another woman altogether.Get in contact with the podcast by emailing threeoldhacks@outlook.com, we'd love to hear from you!

The long-awaited JFK files have finally been released, and one of the most revealing details isn't what's in them—but what the CIA wanted to keep hidden. Among the redactions in the report, one stands out: “The Israeli Intelligence Service.” Why was this information deemed too sensitive for public eyes, even after all these years? In this episode, I break down my initial reaction to the files, what this redaction could mean, and how it fits into the bigger picture of JFK's assassination, and American politics in general.—https://policecoffee.com/?gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAACG7qmIkS3X8ivoZzZosZdSRJueTZ&gclid=Cj0KCQjw1um-BhDtARIsABjU5x6X9JVI5Dihvk6wiS1l5Ra9sToZWRHjj-F0vy3owqCssQ1Bpb0eGaQaAsF1EALw_wcB

Welcome to the Spy Journal! CIA teaches officers to use radical transparency to combat the confusion that can come from living and working in multiple names, places, and operations. While some officers keep diaries, I'm choosing to practice my radical transparency with this video journal. I'll share my thoughts, my challenges, and my breakthroughs – along with the CIA skills I'm using along the way.
Pam Bondi said she had it. Then she said it was coming out at 8 AM. Then… nothing. Now, she's in hiding, refusing to address why the long-awaited Epstein list is still being kept from the public. But she's not the only one responsible for this sham. The new FBI Director, Kash Patel, and even Donald Trump are complicit in this failure to deliver the truth. And let's talk about those so-called “Conservative” influencers who turned the Bondi binders into a circus act. Handing out redacted files full of nothing but black ink wasn't a win—it was a total disgrace. They gamified children's trauma, treating the horrific abuse of minors as a political spectacle instead of demanding real justice. Rather than doubling down on their wrongness, they need to admit they got played. So, WHERE OH WHERE is the Epstein list? Why are we STILL waiting? And who's actually protecting the predators? We're getting into all of it—no spin, no excuses, just Uncommon Sense.--https://noblegoldinvestments.com/

It's suggested the Government's dealing with an economic hangover. The half year economic and fiscal update, opening the Government's books, signals a surplus is further away than previously thought. Politicians are clashing on what the numbers signal. Speaking to Heather du Plessis-Allan, Labour's Ginny Andersen's accusing the Government of austerity, as public sector jobs have faced the chop. She says that hits our local bars, restaurants, and businesses and slows the economy. National party Minister Mark Mitchell told du Plessis-Allan Kiwis dodged a bullet when changing the Government and they inherited an awful economy. The Compendium Podcast: An Assembly of Fascinating and Intriguing Things
In this episode of The Compendium, we explore how the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal extended beyond a private affair between President Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky. It became part of a broader effort, with some suggesting it was a "vast conspiracy" aimed at undermining the presidency, using Monica and other women as pawns in a political agenda. We examine how the scandal escalated into an impeachment trial and a media frenzy, with secret tapes at its center. Today, we uncover the truth and untold layers behind one of the most significant political scandals of the 20th century. We give you the Compendium, but if you want more, then check out these great resources:"Monica's Story" by Andrew Morton"The Starr Report" by Kenneth Starr"A Vast Conspiracy: The Sex Scandal That Nearly Brought Down a President" by Jeffrey Toobin"The Clinton Affair" – Documentary series by A&E“Impeachment” the American Crime StoryMessage Kyle and AdamConnect with Us:
It seems that when one political scandal ends, another one rises to take its place. This week, the Green Party ended the saga that has dominated 2024 for them, with MP Darleen Tana formally removed as an MP in the first usage of the Waka Jumping Bill. As Chloe Swarbrick and her party look to the future, it's now National's turn to deal with an unneeded diversion, after Minister Andrew Bayly was accused of abusing a member of the public at a business event. And at the same, Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters has engaged in a war of words with Te Pati Māori and the Labour Party. So, to make sense of the latest political ups and downs, today on The Front Page, we're joined by Newstalk ZB senior political correspondent, Barry Soper. Unique Scotland still awaits a response from President Biden. You will hear about the tiny Scottish island that ordered more easter eggs than the whole population and is it possible that Dunvegan castle that has stood on it's rocky precipice on the Isle of Skye for over 800 years is starting to fall into the sea? Jason Leopold, a senior reporter with Bloomberg News, has literally been getting under the skin of government bureaucracies for decades. His weapon: The Freedom of Information Act, enacted by Congress in the mid-1960s because the feds, well, had an insidious propensity to bury embarrassing, or even illegal, acts under layers of official secrecy. Over the years the law has been strengthened—not that it's stopped the government from continuing its bad behavior. That's where Leopold, a multiple prize winning, much admired, relentless digger, comes in. The 55-year-old journalist is a legend for forcing the government to release explosive documents ranging from Hillary Clinton's secret email server to CIA torture procedures to Donald Trump's misrouting, should we say, of highly classified documents from the White House to Mar-a-Lago. For his efforts, the FBI labeled him an “FOIA terrorist,” a moniker he cheerfully welcomes.May 1st marked the seventh anniversary of his most favorite FOIA triumph, the release of details on a threatening telephone call a person imitating a Mafia thug—all but certainly Trump—made to a lawyer representing investors going after Trump after the failure of his Atlantic City casino. It seemed like a good day to ring Jason up.Jason Leopoldhttps://twitter.com/JasonLeopoldhttps://www.bloomberg.com/account/newsletters/foia-files Follow Jeff Stein on Twitter:https://twitter.com/SpyTalkerFollow SpyTalk on Twitter:https://twitter.com/talk_spySubscribe to SpyTalk on Substackhttps://www.spytalk.co/Take our listener survey where you can give us feedback.http://survey.podtrac.com/start-survey.aspx?pubid=BffJOlI7qQcF&ver=short

The Credit Mobilier Scandal centered around Railroad construction and the Teapot Dome Scandal centrered around Oil Field contracts. In both cases, the guilty were mostly let off easy. Same was the case in the Iran-Contra Affair during Ronald Reagan's time. Though the scandal created an uproar, the guilty mostly escaped punishment. The ABSCAM though exposed deep corruption within the corridors of power and lot of the guilty paid with their political careers.
