Today, Fr. Mike points out how the boundaries of the land of Canaan in Numbers remind us that the Promised Land is not a nice idea, but a real tangible place. He also reveals that Psalm 120 begins the Psalms of Ascent, or the Psalms that people would pray as they went up to the Temple to worship. The readings are Numbers 34, Deuteronomy 33, and Psalm 120. There is something uniquely peaceful about the early morning. Before the noise of the day begins, there is a quiet invitation to sit with God—to listen, to speak, and to simply be in His presence. Morning reminds us that each day is a fresh start, a new opportunity to walk with Him. Psalm 5:3 captures this beautifully: “In the morning, Lord, You hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before You and wait expectantly.” God is not distant or distracted. He hears us. He meets us right where we are, even in the stillness of a new day. Spring mirrors this same sense of renewal. After months of cold and dormancy, life begins to reappear—buds form, colors return, and warmth slowly replaces the chill of winter. It’s a reminder that seasons of barrenness do not last forever. Just as morning brings light after darkness, spring reflects the deeper truth of new life found in Christ. Jesus declared in John 11:25 that He is the resurrection and the life. His resurrection is the ultimate picture of renewal—life overcoming death, hope rising where despair once lingered. When we welcome both a new morning and a new season like spring, we are reminded of God’s faithfulness. His mercies are new every morning. His love continues to renew and restore us, even after difficult or dry seasons in our lives. Spring invites us to open our hearts again—to notice God’s work around us and within us. It calls us to trust that just as He brings life to the earth, He is also bringing new life to our hearts. Main Takeaways Morning is a powerful time to connect with God in stillness and prayer. God hears our prayers and invites us to seek Him at the start of each day. Spring reflects God’s faithfulness and the promise of renewal. Jesus is the ultimate source of new life and hope. Every new day is an opportunity to trust God and follow His leading. Bible Reading:“In the morning, Lord, You hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before You and wait expectantly.” - Psalm 5:3 Your Daily Prayer Prayer excerpt for listeners: “Lord, thank You for new beginnings and the renewal You bring to my life.” Listen to the full prayer here. Canadian singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot is best known for enduring classics like “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald” and “If You Could Read My Mind.” But one of his lesser-known songs is titled “The Minstrel of the Dawn.” (A minstrel is a troubadour, a singer who puts his poetry to music.) Like us, Lightfoot’s troubadour longs to be “more happy than blue.” Although there are always “blue” things to think about or dwell on, the minstrel chooses to focus on the happy things as the new day dawns and then sing about them. The minstrel of the psalms, David, penned a similar line: “In the morning I will sing of your love” (Psalm 59:16). David had plenty of “blue” things to dwell on—from enemies ready to attack him to fierce men slandering and conspiring against him. “They return at evening,” he sang, “snarling like dogs, and prowl about the city” (v. 14). But he chose, as the new day dawned, to focus not simply on something happy but on Someone good—God—and then sing of God’s love, “my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble” (v. 16) on “whom I can rely” (v. 17). You may not be a singer-songwriter, but you can still be a minstrel of the dawn. Like David, you can tell God, “I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love” (v. 16).

Doug Van Dorn returns to the Blurry Con stage for his third year and delivers what he calls the most important work he's ever presented. Recorded live at Blurry Con 3, Doug walks through a detailed textual case showing how second-century rabbis systematically altered key Old Testament passages to undermine the supernatural worldview of Genesis 6, Psalm 82, Deuteronomy 32, and Psalm 110. He traces how "sons of God" became "sons of the rulers," how "gods" became "the mighty," how 15 words were removed from the Song of Moses, and how the number 70 was strategically swapped for 75 in the genealogies to sever the connection between Melchizedek and Jesus. Every change, Doug argues, was deliberate. And every change targeted the same thing: the deity of Christ.Doug connects the dots between the Septuagint, the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Masoretic text, and the Babylonian Talmud to show that the very arguments many Christians use today against the angelic view of Genesis 6 trace back to sources that were created to discredit Jesus. He unpacks Justin Martyr's confrontation with Trifo, the rabbinical curse on anyone who called them "sons of God," and the shocking language the Talmud uses about Jesus himself. This is textual criticism with teeth, and Doug doesn't hold back. If you've ever wondered why your study Bible reads the way it does on these passages, this talk will rearrange your bookshelf.Want to listen to this episode and a whole backlog of members-only episodes? TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible podcast for March 18th, 2026! In today's episode, Hunter, your host and Bible reading coach, invites listeners from around the world to gather and warm their hearts by the fires of God's love. This episode marks the beginning of a new journey through the book of Joshua, exploring chapters 1 and 2, alongside Psalm 37 and 1 Corinthians 3. We'll witness the transition of leadership from Moses to Joshua, hear God's call to be strong and courageous, and follow the story of Rahab, whose unlikely home becomes the first step into the Promised Land. Through these passages, Hunter emphasizes God's relentless pursuit of His people, weaving the scarlet thread of redemption through unexpected places—even into the ancestry of Jesus. Join us for scripture readings, encouraging reflections, heartfelt prayers, and a reminder that no matter where we are, God is with us every step of the way. Plus, Hunter gives a special shout-out to podcast supporters and invites everyone to live boldly in God's love and joy. This episode promises guidance, inspiration, and a comforting reminder that you are loved. TODAY'S DEVOTION: He comes to the unlikely places. "Be strong and courageous," the Lord tells Joshua, promising to be with him every step of the way as he leads God's people into the land promised to them. But isn't it remarkable where the first steps into this new chapter begin? They turn up not in a grand palace or temple, but in the home of Rahab, a prostitute in Jericho. Through two spies, God's presence arrives in this unlikely house, revealing that his purposes and his love are never restricted by our expectations. The scarlet thread of redemption winds its way through Rahab's life, and it changes everything—not only for her, but for her entire family. That same thread, the saving work of God, is woven into our stories as well. Rahab, once an outsider, becomes a direct ancestor to Jesus—Yeshua, the greater Joshua—showing us that God's love claims even the most unexpected of souls and the most overlooked of homes. Through Rahab, we are reminded that God makes a priority of us. He pursues us, steps into our ordinary lives, and takes possession of hearts, families, and homes. He is not waiting for perfect conditions or perfect people. He invades this world with salvation, making his gospel known, bringing redemption to the least likely and the most broken. If he made Rahab a priority, then he has made you a priority, too. So let us draw strength from his love, and let us be courageous. God is with us every moment, every step, enabling us to lay claim to what is ours in him. Let's live today in the light of this good news: that the God who pursues us has come, and his redeeming work—woven through the pages of our lives—makes all things new. That's a prayer for my own soul, for my family, for my wife, my daughters, my son, and for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose  through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen.   Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.   And now Lord,  make me an instrument of your peace.  Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon.  Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope.  Where there is darkness, light.  And where there is sadness,  Joy.  Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love.  For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life.  Amen And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray... Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ.  Amen.  OUR WEBSITE: www.dailyradiobible.com We are reading through the New Living Translation.   Leave us a voicemail HERE: https://www.speakpipe.com/dailyradiobible Subscribe to us at YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@Dailyradiobible/featured OTHER PODCASTS: Listen with Apple Podcast DAILY BIBLE FOR KIDS DAILY PSALMS DAILY PROVERBS DAILY LECTIONARY DAILY CHRONOLOGICAL

Psalm 90 has one of my favorite phrases and prayers which encapsulates these words of Moses to God — “establish the work of our hands, yes establish the work of our hands.” But in football (soccer) it’s the feet that get used most — so does God establish the work of our feet? Sure, I believe He does. He’s the one who sets out the cones, He marks the lines. I wrote Soccer Psalm 90 so that athletes in soccer can realize that we have a certain degree of frailty. Many times when we are young, athletic — we can feel invincible, we can feel unbreakable. That is, until we break. Our first injury might seem minor or it might be major, but it reminds us that we are dependent — upon others (doctors, physios, and more) and upon God. God can help us steward our lives, our careers if we will but let Him. He will show us where to go and open certain doors that might have been previously closed off to us. We should invite Him into these aspects of our lives — more on this in this week’s podcast. The Soccer Psalms, is a self-published book available on Amazon. (You can also find The Football Psalms-a British version-if you appreciate the different terms around the game). Both books are available globally on Amazon and contain 31 psalms that have been translated into “soccer psalms” — with words, language, and metaphors that connect soccer to God’s Word. Today's readings.. (Leviticus 26), (Psalm 137-139), (Luke 9)Do you, do I, want God to really “know my heart”? The concluding words of David's Psalm 139 are some of the most challenging in Scripture.  It seems obvious that David wrote it when he had formed a most intimate relationship with God, he declares, “How precious to me are your thoughts O God!  How vast is the sum of them!  If I would count them, they are more than the sand.  I awake, and I am still with you.” [v.17,18]David's meditations in this Psalm are most meaningful, he had a sense of really being “with God” and God, with him.  How intensely personal is his closing appeal to the Almighty, “Search me, O God, and know my heart!  Try me and know my thoughts!  And see if there is any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!”   But that leading by God comes at a price – the surrender of self, of our human inclinations – to God's leading. David surely knew what Moses wrote at God's direction, we read it today in Leviticus ch. 26.  The first 13 verses list all the blessings to come on the nation if they will truly serve their God who has delivered them from slavery in Egypt. “I will make my dwelling among you,” says God, “I will walk among you and will be your God, and you shall be my people.” [v.11,12]  David was leading the people to do this – he would have fallen asleep in death  convinced that his son Solomon would complete what he had begun in making the nation, God's people.  His Psalm explains a vital underlying factor in serving God, that, observing God's laws, must be followed by an attitude of heart and mind that achieves a personal relationship with God.       Sadly, the rest of Leviticus 26, which details the actions of God when there is a failure to obey his laws, came terribly true for most who journeyed to the promised land under Moses.. Our awareness – of the light and darkness of the paths of life – is vital for our eternal health: they are excellently summed up in the words of Jesus in the last verse of our Luke (ch.9) reading.  “No one who puts his hand to the plough and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.”  Our innermost thoughts as we prayerfully read God's word each day will keep us looking forward.

Many Christians today feel overwhelmed by the chaos of the modern world. Wars, political corruption, cultural upheaval, financial uncertainty, and constant news cycles can stir deep anxiety even in mature believers. In the first episode of Take Heart, host Cory Wing looks at what Scripture actually teaches about anxiety. Jesus commands His followers not to worry—but why? And how is that even possible in a world that often feels unstable and frightening?Drawing from passages like Matthew 6, Philippians 4, Psalm 115, and 1 Peter 5, Cory explains how anxiety is ultimately a crisis of trust in God’s sovereignty—and how prayer, faith, and the promises of Christ bring real peace to the troubled heart. If you’ve been wrestling with fear, uncertainty, or the weight of the world’s problems, this episode offers a biblical path to peace. Because the good news of the gospel is this: Christ has overcome the world.New episodes of Take Heart release every Monday mornin.Leave a question in the comments—Cory will answer one viewer/listener question in each future episode.

What should care and correction in the church look like? How should followers of Jesus care for widows in their church body? In this episode, Watermark elder Todd Anders joins Emma Dotter to discuss Acts 6:1-7 and what it means to be a shepherding church, the five aspects of a shepherd, and the “one another” commands in Scripture. Then, faithful Watermark member Melanie Graber describes her experience in being cared for by the church and offers practical advice on caring for widows. // ADDITIONAL VERSES MENTIONED: Exodus 17: 11; 18: 21-22; Ephesians 4: 15; 2 Peter 3: 9; Psalm 23 // RELATED JOIN THE JOURNEY EPISODES:  S4:265 – Acts 5-6 (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/s4-265-acts-5-6/id1600151923?i=1000735373170) // RESOURCES FOR FURTHER STUDY: Church Membership by Jonathan Leeman: (https://a.co/d/035b4DsL) Aging with Purpose: 7 Essentials for Finishing Well by Dr. Hal Habecker (https://a.co/d/0fP6bqSu) Read Melanie Graber's story: (https://www.watermark.org/blog/ordinary-obedience) Watermark Community Church ministries mentioned: Christ-Centered Recovery (https://www.watermark.org/ministries/regeneration-recovery) Marriage Enrichment (https://www.watermark.org/ministries/re-engage) International Student Ministry (https://www.watermark.org/outreach/international-students ) Women's Bible Study (https://www.watermark.org/ministries/womens-bible-study)  Newly Married Women (https://www.watermark.org/ministries/to-have-and-to-host)  Men and Women 60+ (https://www.watermark.org/ministries/legacy)  // WHAT IS JOIN THE JOURNEY? Join The Journey is a realistic daily Bible reading plan that helps followers of Jesus at Watermark Community Church and beyond enjoy abiding in Jesus together. In this episode of The Leader's Notebook (Ep. 304), I walk through the extraordinary and complicated life of King David, beginning in Ruth 4 and 1 Samuel 16. David was not an ordinary man—shepherd, musician, warrior, king, poet, and prophet—yet Scripture still calls him a man after God's own heart. We explore his calling, his courage, his failures, and his fierce pursuit of God's purpose through every season of change. From the anointing at Bethlehem to the cave of Adullam, from kingship to repentance in Psalm 51, David teaches us how to keep our eyes on God's destiny even when we fall. His sin does not excuse us—but his repentance instructs us. His Psalms still speak, still heal, still point us to Christ. There is deep encouragement here for anyone who refuses to quit and keeps falling forward toward grace.– Dr. Mark Rutland Chapters (00:00:03) - The Leaders Notebook(00:00:31) - The extraordinary life of King David(00:09:23) - David the Book of Life(00:14:13) - David the King of Israel(00:20:56) - David the Conqueror(00:24:47) - The Story of David and the Capital(00:26:01) - The Story of David and Bathsheba(00:30:56) - David's Sin (Psalm 51)(00:33:10) - Why is David Called a Man After God's Own Heart?(00:34:40) - The Psalms

Psalms 1 & 2 E4 — The New Testament authors make both subtle and direct claims to Jesus' divinity, almost exclusively by referencing Israel's Scriptures. In Psalm 2, one of the most quoted passages from the Hebrew Bible, Yahweh responds to the conspiring, violent nations by installing a king (whom he calls his Son) in Israel. Jesus and the apostles frequently use Psalm 2 language to describe Jesus' divine identity and unique relationship to God the Father. In this episode, Jon and Tim explore these references in Jesus' baptism, transfiguration, and resurrection, while also considering how the Son of God shares his royal identity with his followers.
