The podcast includes an extract from Ronnie Barker's “A Pint Of Old And Filthy” and Terry Thomas reading PG Wodehouse. Hi very beautiful neurodivergent brains! This week, we're watering our fake plants and celebrating our birthdays like the indulgent little princes we are!Dilemma 1: Our lovely listener Kerri feels like she comes across as intimidating, and it's triggering her RSD. We chat about advocating for ADHD in the workplace and embracing your unique intensity while also showing your softer side. Remember, two things can be true: you can be passionate and intense and also a kind/gentle person!Dilemma 2: A cute little Bimbo Marshall comes out of the woodwork with a question about phone calls and the stress of feeling disconnected to the person on the other end, almost like she's talking to a disembodied voice. We discuss the challenges of emotional processing and body language on calls, and why many ADHDers find emailing and texting way easier than chatting on the phone. We dive into some practical tips for how to escape those moments when you're feeling “chat-trapped” and mananging the overwhelm of keeping the conversation going like calming your nervous system right before the call, using social scripts—like chatting about the weather to ease into the conversation and Grace gives the 'untip' of calling when the background noise is terrible and just blaming it on that!Ireggy Seggy: It's time for “ADHD or NAYDHD: The Zoo Edition”! Expect possum testicles, kangaroo gazing, tortoise tickling, and our new obsession with the Aye-Aye!Recommendations:Grace recommends: MCo Beauty Grip Primer Link and Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer Link.Tara recommends: An insightful article by her hero Christy Harrison on evaluating the quality of science behind supplements Link.We will be back in your insanely gorgeous ears next THURSDAYand until then DON'T RSDLOVE!Tara and Grace xxx----------------------------Join us on socials (so it's not just our husbands commenting

There are many questions we still need the answers to when it comes to AI. And whether you accept it or reject it depends greatly on who you are and what you're using it for. Using Julie's AI-generated bio as a springboard for today's conversation, you'll hear what AI gets right, where it still has much to learn, and where it lands concerning depth and emotion for this simple task. However, as long as we pay attention, stay awake, mind the gaps, and consider the source, we can navigate this new and unprecedented Earth School lesson together.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

The Power Trip: A Journey Through the Power Rangers Franchise
Merry Christmas, Listeners with Attitude! In true Power Rangers fashion, The Power Trip's first season “ends” with a holiday special! Nathan and Michael harken back to Mighty Morphin' season two to discuss a VHS episode that originally went out to members of the Power Rangers Fan Club: “Alpha's Magical Christmas.” Oh boy, this (thankfully) non-canonical special is so saccharine, it's guaranteed to give you diabetes. And it's nothing like the show. What's funny is your intrepid hosts discovered there is a literary/audio adaptation that's way better—and they wished they'd discussed that instead. The latest in our series of interviews with those shortlisted for the Royal Society Insight Investment Book prize, Vic sat down with co-authors Sir Jeremy Farrar and Anjana Ahuja to talk about their book Spike: the Virus vs the People. Anne-Claire Fabre Assistant Professor at the University of Bern and Curator of mammals, Natural History Museum Bern turns her scientific curiosity toward a surprising and perhaps perturbing behaviour in one of her research animals as she spoke to us about her paper published in the Journal of Zoology this week. Whilst investigating the Aye Aye, a nocturnal primate with two long thin fingers Anne-Claire witnessed the creature putting them to good use picking its nose and went on to uncover a big gap in our understanding of this icky behaviour.
