Cristiano Ronaldo BioSnap a weekly updated Biography.Cristiano Ronaldo has commanded global headlines in the past few days as the face of one of the most high-profile tourism campaigns of the year. Saudi Tourism launched its sweeping “Unreal Calendar” initiative on September 2, putting Ronaldo not just at the center of advertising but positioning him as the living embodiment of a new Saudi Arabia—one that's inviting the world far beyond its football stadiums. In lavishly produced TV spots and multilingual digital campaigns rolling out across Europe, India, and China, Ronaldo beckons audiences with the line “I Came for Football, I Stayed For More,” showing off everything from the adrenaline of packed stadiums to the vibrance of film premieres, fashion weeks, high-octane motorsport, and deeply-rooted desert festivals. According to the campaign's core message and Saudi government officials, Ronaldo is lending global credibility to the country's Vision 2030, an era-defining drive to diversify the kingdom's economy and cultural image. From camels to esports, Red Sea film festivals to Formula 1, the ads depict Ronaldo absorbing it all, and his voice leads viewers into the new Saudi—a nation that wants to be a year-round destination, not just a football pilgrimage according to the Economic Times and Arab News.Beyond the screen, the campaign is already being held up as a case study in using celebrity influence to shift perceptions, with tourism authorities making clear that their aim is more international visitors and a deeper sense of Saudi as a place of modern possibility. Ronaldo himself, now the highest-paid athlete in the world according to The Big Lead, publicly praised Saudi's mix of “heritage and ambition,” noting in multiple interviews that he never saw himself becoming part of such a journey but now feels the country is where the “future of sport” is being written.Social media has responded in kind: Ronaldo's campaign content has been trending across platforms, with Visit Saudi's official Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) accounts featuring exclusive behind-the-scenes material and Ronaldo's personal praise for the country's efforts. There was a brief stir online after Ronaldo posted a cryptic message about his future, leading to speculation among fans and internet detectives, but no major news outlets have confirmed any club or personal upheaval. In terms of business, Ronaldo's role is widely seen as a strategic partnership—a bridge from Saudi's sporting ambitions to its bid for cultural global relevance, as reported by Brand Vision Insights and PR Newswire. For long-term significance, this week's campaign anchors Ronaldo's continued evolution from global athlete to international business and cultural figure—cementing his place in not just football's, but also tourism and brand history.Get the best deals https://amzn.to/3ODvOta

As the IndyCar teams travel back east from Portland, Conor Daly returns to Speed Street to report on how his weekend in the Rose City unfolded. He joins co-host Chase Holden to unpack the race and react to Santino Ferrucci's monster qualifying lap which rewarded him his first career pole and brought A.J. Foyt Racing back to the top of the charts. They also chat about how Portland's record for first lap full-course yellows was upheld, but this time it wasn't in turn one. Conor breaks down what happened between Scott Dixon, Kyle Kirkwood and Pietro Fittipaldi, a crash that took Dixon out of the championship battle. Finally, Conor details his own contact with Pietro and how the spin cost him valuable time in a race that ran mostly under green.Race winner Will Power joins the show for the third time this season after his dominant victory over points leader Alex Palou. Will marvels over how close the IndyCar paddock is this season, as qualifying saw the field separated by mere tenths of a second. He also explains how he and Santino discussed the start of the race on the grid beforehand and the move that gave him the early lead. Will gives listeners insight as to how difficult it is mentally to maintain a large lead in a race like Portland, where he is constantly analyzing data and watching what second place is doing behind him. While it may look easy, there are many factors at play such as conserving tires and fuel that he needs to concentrate on for the duration of the event. Will weighs in on his championship chances as the IndyCar season moves into its final three races and what he needs to do to further close in on Palou.

It was a busy Monday that began with Lane Thomas getting traded to Cleveland and ended with Kyle Finnegan giving up five runs in the bottom of the 9th in Arizona for a gut punch 9-8 loss. Mark (From Phoenix) & Al start with Finnegan, who imploded on the eve of the Trade Deadline, an outing that ended with Corbin Carroll's walk-off 2-run HR. Any surprise that Davey would risk injury to Finnegan due to trade implications? (15:00) Mitchell Parker bounced back from two rough starts with a decent outing on Monday night. Parker had allowed eleven combined runs in his two previous appearances on the mound. (18:00) Alex Call, recently called up from AAA, homered in the top of the 1st while taking over for Thomas in RF. Harold Ramirez also had a pair of hits, including a RBI double, while hitting third in the new look order. (22:00) Thomas was sent to the Guardians in exchange for three prospects. The headliner in the haul is LHP Alex Clemmey, who was taken in the 2nd round last summer. Mark also then explains why Wood is still playing LF after the trade. Learn more about your ad choices. The U.S. Men's basketball team enjoyed another successful Olympic tuneup. Correspondent Bruce Morton tells the story.
The Nats led 6-1 in Oakland but it all fell apart in the 6th inning and they ultimately lost 7-6. Mark (Live from the Oakland Coliseum) & Al recap the disappointing series finale. (04:36) Derek Law gave up four runs despite retiring the first batter he faced in the bottom of the 6th. This blighted Trevor Williams' final line as two of the three runs he ceded came with Law on the mound. This was another game with many bullpen arms used, as the team sent out 13 relievers collectively over the weekend. (12:00) Riley Adams caught every game this series as Keibert Ruiz remains out to illness. This hosts note that it turned out to be a mistake in not keeping Drew Millas on the roster as his replacement Amos Willingham never took the mound. (17:20) The lineup was shuffled and Lane Thomas came through by homering, part of his 3 hits and 3 RBIs on the afternoon while hitting 5th. Jacob Young occupied the lead off spot and delivered with a pair of hits. This leads to Mark giving an update on Victor Robles and hamstring strain. (23:00) Mitchell Parker will make his MLB debut on the mound on Monday night at Dodger Stadium. Parker was a 5th round pick from the 2020 Draft. He has made one start this year for Rochester and was promoted to AAA in mid September in last season. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

The Clippers had it going in the 1st quarter building a 22 point lead that they promptly blew in about 5 mins of game time as the T-Wolves went on a 20-2 run the regain the lead in the 3rd quarter and the cruise to victory 118-100.Kawhi Leonard left the game in the 1st quarter with back spasms.Paul George lead the Clippers with 22 points and 5 turnovers.
Yoshi Yamamoto struggled in his 2nd start as he was "working on things" - so there's no need to panic. Could Gavin Lux be in danger of losing the starting shortstop position if his defensive struggles continue this spring? The Lakers led by 19, only to trail by 21, and then lose by 10 to Sacramento.
The Clippers blow a great opportunity facing the Bucks without Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton. They built a big lead up by 15 in the 4th qtr but they were outscored 40-25 in the 4th losing 113-106. The Clippers also struggled from the free-throw line shooting just 64%. Good games for Paul George and James Harden who lead the Clippers with 29 a piece.

India are building a big lead v England on Day 2 of their Test match. KL Rahul and Jadeja did most of the damage, although virtually every India batter scored runs, as England toiled and head towards what could be a big defeat in the first Test. England's spinners struggled, with only Joe Root and Jack Leach offering any control. Is there a way back for England or are India simply too strong in these conditions? Hour 1: Boomer & Gio are both sick of the narrative that the Jets are in trouble because of the offensive line. It's way too early to tell. They also want the Yankees to shut down Aaron Judge right now since the season is essentially over and you don't want him hurt for next year. Jerry is here for his first update and has sound from last night's Yankees loss to the Braves. Shutout again and now below .500. The Jets & Bucs scuffled during joint practice. In the final segment of the hour, yesterday someone from The Big Lead thought Gio's impression of Joe Benigno was actually Joe, who was saying the Chinese would have all the Jets plays since Rob Saleh scrolls TikTok. Boston radio host Fred Toucher thinks Mike Greenberg is a prick.
The Big Lead was fooled by Gio's Joe Benigno impression when he was saying the Chinese were going to steal the Jets plays and give them to the Bills since Rob Saleh scrolls TikTok.
Hour 4: Last night was episode 2 of Hard Knocks and we got to see Rob Saleh ripping into the offensive line. Gio was asking Boomer about who is calling the plays on the offense now for the Jets. Jerry returns for an update but first Eddie Scozzare calls us live from Iceland with his tour guide. This leads to a long impression of Gio as Eddie in Iceland. Jerry has audio from last night's Hard Knocks episode. It's a conversation between Rob Saleh and Quinnen Williams. ‘Our style was all over this bitch yesterday'- Saleh on the defense. He was not happy with the play of the offensive line. Williams became a star on last night's episode. Joe Benigno's ‘how bout that' to the Jets players during interviews from camp. In the final segment of the show, someone at The Big Lead thought Gio's impression of Joe Benigno was really Joe and he thought the Chinese were getting all of the Jets plays because Rob Saleh scrolls TikTok.
Hour 1: Boomer & Gio are in the studio this morning after spending days at Giants and Jets camp. We may have put the maloik on Aaron Rodgers as he did not have a good day of practice after talking to us in the morning. Last night was episode 2 of Hard Knocks and there was a mentalist/magician guy there named Oz Pearlman who did a cool trick with Aaron Rodgers. Rob Saleh did rip into the offensive line in last night's episode for their poor performance in practice against the Panthers. The Colts and the Panthers have both named their rookie QBs as starters so they get all the first team reps. We also talked about the Jets adding Dalvin Cook and how that could elevate the entire RB room. Jerry is here with his first update of the day and starts with audio from Rob Saleh from last night's Hard Knocks ripping into the offensive line. We also heard Joe Benigno's ‘how bout that' to the New York Jets' players at camp. Anthony Richardson talked about being named starting QB for the Colts. Gardner Minshew said he understands why Richardson was named starter. Al Michaels talked about having low energy for crappy games. The Yankees were shut out by the Braves and only managed 1-hit. Luis Severino had another bad outing, giving up a 3-run HR in the first. Jordan Montgomery had a good start for the Rangers. In the final segment of the hour, baseball is now dead in NY as the Yankees have hit .500 and will no doubt fall below soon. It's time now to shut Aaron Judge down instead of running him out there with that bad toe in meaningless games. Hour 2: Gio is sick of Mets fans saying they ‘won 101 games last year' as some sort of defense of Steve Cohen. We took calls from furious Yankees fans. Boomer tells the story of his friend, Ziggy, who had a thumb reattached in order to hold a football better at Syracuse. Jerry returns for an update and starts with audio from last night's Hard Knocks. Quinnen Williams' money was the subject of conversation between Rob Saleh and Woody Johnson. Brandon Tierney accidently said ‘penis' instead of ‘peanuts' when discussing the paychecks in the Jets RB room. Daniel Jones talked about why he doesn't want to be on ‘Quarterback'. Marc Malusis is on vacation with his family and things seem to be going well. Jerry has audio from Moose. The Yankees were shut out by the Braves and only got one hit. The Dodgers keep winning out West. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about the Jets offensive line and their struggles so far in camp and preseason games. Hour 3: Let's go through the list of Head Coaches most likely to be fired this season. A caller wants JPP back on the Giants. Jerry returns for an update and starts with audio from the mentalist that was on Hard Knocks with the Jets last night. Joe Benigno was with Evan at Jets camp and we played some of Joe's ‘how bout that'. Shaun Morash asked Rob Saleh about the crow and eagle analogy. Joe B is confused as you might guess. Gio as Joe B worried that China now has the Jets' plays now that Saleh is scrolling through TikTok. The Yankees got only 1-hit and were shutout by the Braves. Aaron Judge talked about being .500 in mid-August. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about Aaron Rodgers not wanting to play around with us on the air. He was a tough nut to crack.
