The slow rolling legalization of cannabis in the United States is providing an interesting investment opportunity. Since Covid, cannabis sales are up tremendously. The legal industry is growing as more states legalize medicinal and/or recreational use. As large, licensed multiple state cannabis operations grow, they are increasingly cashflow positive. All of this despite having no access to the US banking system and paying a particularly high effective tax rate – frequently north of 70%.  In the beginning of 2021, banks, wary of unclear Federal law, began to prevent their brokerage clients from investment in public cannabis companies. Since that time, we've seen these stocks fall over 80% in valuation. At the same time, fundamentally, the businesses continue to grow and thrive.  As we speak, the lame duck Congress is considering legislation that would open up the banking system to state-licensed cannabis companies. My guest today addressing the state of the industry is Boris Jordan. Boris is the Founding Partner of cannabis-dedicated asset manager Measure 8 Venture Partners, as well as Chairman of Curaleaf, which he founded and built into the world's largest cannabis company. Prior to his current focus in cannabis, Boris had a legendary career as a banker and private equity manager in emerging markets starting in the 1990's.. We started off by talking about the politics of marijuana reform in Congress but then focused on the future of the cannabis industry. What role will Big Tobacco, Big Pharma, Big Alcohol and the other big consumer good companies eventually play? Which countries, not just in Europe but also in Asia, Africa and the Middle East, are most likely to legalize cannabis in coming years? Why does he think cannabis beverages will account for half of the cannabis market within ten years? What does he think about the future of legal psychedelics? Thanks to Asli Thanks to Benzinga for everything you do to make this happen rate and review us, let us know what you think and come meet me. April 20th through 21st on Miami beach for our first 2022 canvas capital conference. However, we got some news to cover.European commission makes to welcome updates for the CBD and. At least five companies in the EU have received news that their novel food CBD cases have reached the final stages. This will impact hemp production very positively for Europe. The second update is the European commission panel is to vote on THC levels in food. Obviously food with cannabidiol. In it, which will help set standards in cultivation that are long overdue. So it's nice to see these developments happen. It's been several years that some of these have been put on delay and ideally we will see this move a little bit. I, it is interesting to see this happen now of all times in Europe, but it is a positive development for sure.Sugar, bud S B U D on the OTC markets, a craft cannabis grower in Canada launches a new GMO, highly. Dry flower cookie product in Ontario, specifically that move it's 30% dry flower. So that is a nice update to their product portfolio. Keep them on your watch list. Craft grows will become an interesting part of the Canadian space. There are hundreds of licensed producers in that market, so they will have to stick out. And I think sugar bud has an interesting model to do so zine Nerva. Yeah. Zaner about Z Y. He announces completion of enrollment in a 14 week phase two trial for XY gel. Is a leading cannabidiol biotech in the space.XY gel is being developed to assist with behavioral symptoms of deletion syndrome in children and adolescent. Last week, you may have noticed curely take a little bit of a hit that is due apparently to Boris Jordan, their chairman his ties to his ancestry will say in both, I believe Russia and Ukraine. But he did release a letter through Benzinga channels on Friday. He denounced any active sympathetic ties to Russia outside of the hope for peace between the two nations sundial and Al Canada announced an extension of agreement outside date to March 30th, 2022 sundial will be acquiring Al Canada.Ideally, we all want this to go through Al Kana adds an extensive distribution network to sundial, as well as introducing the company to the alcohol sales. West Virginia House approved a bill to limit medical marijuana testing licenses. The, this will be a limit for two companies statewide to test the measure will go to the Senate.Mad men, M N F on the OTC announces the sale of their Florida assets, four $83 million in cash. This includes medical cannabis, license, inventory, and operations. Big news again, out of four growth Corp that's FLDC on the NASDAQ. They complete an acquisition of just CBD. This will massively enhance the company's us infrastructure and CBG portfolio over 300 portfolio brand products for just CBD.They have a direct to consumer business with over 300,000 customers and a network of 14,000 stores across the us and internationally just CBD generated around $28 million in revenue in 2020 goodness growth launches, a full line of cannabis flower in Minnesota. Obviously this is a huge boon for both goodness growth and Verano who announced their intent to acquire goodness growth and last but not least for the day.Tilt holdings T L T F. Whenever they come out with news, they mean it. They are going to launch a cannabis delivery service from its Commonwealth alternative care Taunton dispensary in Massachusetts. If I'm looking at who to watch the. On a positive note, I'm looking at flora growth Corp, for sure.I'm looking at tilt holdings. I'm probably looking at Verano V R N O F on the OTC as well as goodness growth with that being said the major players are getting some pressure. Folks like Alan Braxton from new cannabis ventures expect more stock selling to come. Hopefully not diluting too much of these major industry players keep an eye on the markets this week.I know it's crazy out there. Y'all but cannabis is still a roaring industry. Great fundamentals looking forward to getting more investors on board in this space. This is Elliot lane looking forward to seeing you. Happy Thursday. This is Elliot lane, host of cannabis daily. Thrilled to be back with you for fourth time this week on your second week of 2022.Thanks as always to Aaron Thomas, our fearless producer, as well as Benzinga for the platform. This show is designed. To bring you cannabis news and insights for investible information for the day. So let's dive right in tons to chat about today on multiple levels. And some things I can't leave off, but aren't necessarily focused on the public markets.Let's dive in Delta. DLT an F on the OTC provides guidance and timing for their financial year, 20, 21 year in results. They anticipate the quarter ending December 31st to bring in between 16.6 and 17.4 million. That is between a 17 and 23% increase year over year and nine and 14% quarter over quarter. That is in Canadian dollars fiscal year, 2021 results to be between. To be somewhere around 61.8 and 62.6 million compared to 52.1 million for fiscal year 2020. So Delta nine, definitely making improvements year over year and believe me y'all there are some good businesses in this industry in Canada.Let's not forget about them. Delta nine is one of them, one of the OGs in the Canadian. Next up the talk of the town, I would say for the last 24 or so hours a study out of, I believe it's Oregon state university says cannabis may block and or help people to not get COVID or SARS COVID 19. This is a huge, funny and people such as Jimmy Kimmel are saying, why are we listening to the CDC when we could just take CBD?So with that being said I may look at my daily routine and add in some more cannabis. We'll see Huxton cannabis announces plans to bring weed to metaphor. People like relating to objects they know, and this could give them the option to get digitally stoned. I will let you all create your own opinions about this.I just ask why pure extracts, P R X T F on the OTC signs, a white. Custom manufacturing license agreement with a west coast licensed producer to be named, to launch a line of vape products, not a stock. We talk about a lot, but one that's been around and active for several years now, Austin, Texas will have a decriminalization initiative on the ballot.Other Texas cities will soon to follow activists for cannabis in the state have had little success on that level statewide in cannabis reforms. They're starting to turn their attention to the local level per normal in O R N O R M l.org. If you want to read more on that, this seems pretty big to me and slightly disappointing that we're still not in agreement over this, but Virginia law makers are divided on releasing marijuana prisoners following legalization.10 people whose most serious offense is marijuana. I believe we're all set to be released in the next few years. So that may be part of the reason, but there's another 560 people are serving partially related to marijuana, serving sentences, partially related to marijuana. So something to keep an eye on.I do hope at least those 10 people are able to get out of their sentence a little early. executive chair that see you RLF on the OTC, their executive chair, Boris Jordan, and six others. I believe file a $60 million lawsuit against an Oregon CBD startup saying they were induced into funding with false and misleading information.Seven investors in the lawsuit are against Nitten Cana and a few others. The company's name was sending. S E N T I a. It was a spinoff of Cura partners. Its social CBD brand was sold to a California company last year for an undisclosed price. Kaunas attorney saying the company failed due to regulatory changes and COVID impact on cannabis retail. Boris Jordan, I believe investing in this either on his own or through measure. Venture partners, but I do not believe this has much to do with curely from after reading this audacious brands, Aus a completes their acquisition of Luce, L O S which is just how you spell the company. That is not a ticker, but I can't a cannabinoid infused shot beverage company in Santa Cruz, California. So audacious looking to expand their brand portfolio in the largest cannabis economy in the world. So good for them. We'll see how it, it affects their bottom line as they continue to roll that. Oxley cannabis, in my opinion, the winner of the day CBW T F on the OTC, I believe XLY on the TSX secured 15% market share in cannabis.2.0 product sales in 2021. 14% in, I believe 2020 driven by the dominance in the vapor segment where it holds 23% market share 23% market share into the vapor segment in Canada, three vape products for Oxley securing top five spots across the country. So Oxley again, ticker CB WTF has been ripping and roaring. The past, I would say six to eight months or so they really have burst onto the scene and become a major player in the Canadian market. Some would argue a little bit longer than that, but I really think that's been the time to keep an eye on this stock air wellness Ayr WF opens 44th dispensary.Florida. Thank you all so much for tuning in tomorrow. We are going to bring you a special episode. I'm going to do cannabis stocks to watch for 2022. I will do my best for you. We won't forget about the news. Aaron Thomas May come on and give us a few tidbits about what's going on. Culturally in the industry, but we do look forward this, look forward to doing this one more time tomorrow. This is Elliot lane.
